Zach wakes up next to Olivia, smiling and he gets up, puts clothes on and exits his room, he sees a note on the counter from his dad saying "next time, please ask, P.S: will be back soon", he puts it back and notices Olivia exiting the room

she sits at the table

Zach pours himself and Olivia a cup and hands it to her and sits down

Zach:

Zach's phone starts to ring, he picks it up, it's Jacob

Zach picks up the phone and puts it on speaker

Camera switches to Zach and Olivia

Zach turns off the TV and turns to Olivia

Zach hangs up and turns to Olivia

Olivia runs off to get dressed

Ext. Forest - Morning
Brad and Gus are just now waking up when he sees a couple hound dogs coming towards them
Brad:
Run
Brad and Gus run further into the forest and hide behind a tree
Brad pulls the gun out and shoots straight in the air, tricking the dogs into running in the opposite direction
Gus:

Brad:
We find a way out of this forest, then we lay low for a while

Int. Police Station
Zach and Olivia are walking with Sheriff Louis
Zach:
How the hell does a teenager overpower your "highly trained" security officers and manage to escape?
Louis:
Look, I understand that you're a little on edge but you don't have to worry about anything, we got it handled
Zach:
That's funny, the last time i didn't worry about it, I ended up in the hospital with a broken leg and arm
Louis turns to Zach and Olivia

Look, I understand that you and your girlfriend are scared but what you need to do is go back home before the roads close and lock your doors and stay inside, alright?
Zach(scoffs):

Zach and Olivia leave the station and get back in the car
Int. Zach's Car
Zach is frustrated, he slaps the steering wheel out of rage and lays his head down on it
Olivia:

Zach lifts his head up and sighs

I'm sorry, just he escaped and they don't give a single shit about it
Olivia:

Zach's phone rings again but he doesn't look

Olivia grabs the phone and looks at the Caller ID, it's Matt, Olivia answers

Olivia looks at Zach, he still has his head on the wheel

He hangs up, Olivia hands Zach back the phone

They switch seats and drive off

Brad and Gus are walking in the forest, trying to find a way out

I'm getting tired of this forest shit

Brad and Gus see a house up ahead, they run towards it, it's a familiar looking house, Brad tries the back door and it is open, they walk inside and it's so familiar, Brad glances at a photo and it's ZACH AND HIS DAD
Int. Zach's House - Afternoon
Brad:

We got to get out of here
Brad goes to open the front door but through the window, he sees Zach's car pull in, him and Gus go hide in the closet as Zach and Olivia enter the house
Zach closes the door and locks it as Olivia locks the backdoor but she looks down and notices dirty footprints
Olivia(whispering):
Zach, come over here
Zach walks over to her

Olivia points at the dirty footprints and Zach's eyes widen
Olivia (Whispering):
He's in the house
Zach walks to the dresser by the front door and grabs a gun and loads it
Brad watches this from the closet and slowly grabs the gun from his pants
Zach searches around the house, opening every door but finds nothing
He approaches the closet door Brad is in and points the gun towards it

Brad slowly opens the door and they both come out

Gus:

Zach:
Drop the gun Brad
Brad puts down the gun and kicks it towards him
Zach (To Olivia):
Olivia call the police

Olivia pulls out her phone and dials 911

You're what? Sorry? We're way past that, you put me in the hospital for an entire month
Olivia (on the phone):
Yes, hi, we found Brad Moore and someone else, they are in the house
Zach:
You nearly killed me and almost got away with it, did he tell you that part gus?
Gus:
No, he didn't
Brad:
I was stupid, I didn't know what i was doing
Zach:
Yet you successfully managed to plan out an escape, but what was your end goal brad?
Olivia walks in
Olivia:
Police are on their way
Zach:

The front door gets a knock, Olivia opens it, It's Matt, Zach turns around

What the hell is going on here
From behind, Gus pushes Zach and makes him drop the gun, Brad picks up the other gun and makes a run for it, but Zach pulls his foot and climbs on top of him
as they wrestle for the gun, Gus tries to get the other gun but Matt tackles him and plants him on the ground
Zach and Brad wrestle for the gun but as Zach grabs the gun, Brad's hand slips and pulls the trigger
BANG
Zach looks down but there is no bullet hole, he looks over at Olivia and she looks down to reveal SHE HAS BEEN SHOT IN THE GUT, Zach bolts towards her and holds her head up
Zach:
Olivia, Olivia, No, No, No
Zach takes his jacket off and holds it against her stomach
Zach bursts to tears
Zach:
you're gonna be fine, ok, everything will be ok
Olivia looks at Zach, coughs up blood and holds his hand tight
Zach(cont'd):
please, stay with me, Olivia
He hears sirens from the distance, smiles
Zach:
They're almost here, everything is going to be ok, alright
She smiles but it quickly begins to fade, her grip loosening, she turns her head and closes her eyes
Zach:
Olivia? Olivia wake up, wake up please, please wake up
The police arrive with an ambulance
Gus:
Brad, we gotta go
Brad, still stunned by what he did, snaps out of it and runs out of the house
Zach, still holding Olivia
Zach:
In here, HELP PLEASE
Paramedics enter the house and check on Olivia as Matt pulls Zach away
Paramedic #1:
She's lost a lot of blood
Paramedic #2:
We need to get her to the ER Fast
The paramedics put her on the stretcher and apply a tourniquet to the wound
Zach follows as they load her into the ambulance
He tries to get on but the paramedics stop him
Paramedic #1:
Sorry, I can't let you on
Zach:
Please, she's my girlfriend and I'm the only one she has right now
The two paramedics look at each other, then at Zach
Paramedic #1:
Let him on
Zach gets in the ambulance with the paramedic and they close the doors
Int. Ambulance
Zach holds Olivia's hand as the paramedic checks for a pulse
Paramedic #2:
She has a weak pulse, and she went into shock
The paramedic puts her on a breathing machine
Paramedic #2:
What's your name, kid?
Zach:

Paramedic #2:
Ok, Zachary i need you to keep applying pressure on the wound
The paramedic puts several wires on her chest and checks her heartbeat
Paramedic #2:
Ok, her heartbeat is weak but steady, your doing great kid
Zach wipes tears away and keeps applying pressure
Cut to:
Int. Forest
Brad and Gus are running from the cops, Gus finds a cave and they hide in it
they sit down and wait out the cops
Gus:
What's the plan now?
Brad doesn't answer, he is still in shock
Gus:
Brad, don't go quiet on me now
Brad:
I shot my sister
Gus:
I know but you need to stay focused, we'll worry about that later
Brad:

Gus:
Well, when that whole thing happened, I managed to snags the dudes phone so at least we have something

Escaping the prison, and how it would effect our families, i just shot my sister and she might be dead because of me

Hey, what happened was an accident, and besides, considering that the ambulance arrived just in time, she might still be alive

Int. Hospital - evening
The paramedics along with Zach barge in, several doctors surround Olivia, they take her in the back and when Zach tries to follow, a doctor holds him back
Doctor:
I'm sorry sir, but you gotta stay out here
Zach:
Please, that's my girlfriend
Doctor:
I understand that sir, but please stay out here
Zach sits down and put his hands on his head
Several hours go by, Zach has been sitting there, waiting for any updates, his dad arrived at some point, Eli busts through the door
Eli:
Where is my daughter?
Zach stands up
Zach:
Mr. Moore, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean for any of this to happen
Eli:
Is Olivia ok?
Zach:
They put her in surgery right when we got here
Eli:
How did this happen?
Zach:
Brad broke into our house, his friend knocked me down and me and Brad were fighting for the gun, the gun fired and...Olivia got caught in the cross fire
Zach begins to cry as Matt hugs him
Zach:
I'm so sorry, Mr Moore
Eli:
It's ok, Zachary, did they catch Brad?
Matt:
No, they ran away during all of the commotion
A nurse walks out and stands at the door
Nurse:
Zachary?
Zach wipes the tears away and raises his hand and walks towards the nurse

Nurse:
Olivia is in recovery, would you like to sit with her
Zach turns towards Matt and Eli
Eli:
Go ahead, we'll be waiting
Zach walks to the back with the nurse
Zach:
How is she?
Nurse:
luckily, the bullet didn't go all the way through and didn't puncture any important arteries
Nurse:
She's right here
Zach:

Zach opens the door and closes it behind him, he recognizes the room, it's the same one he was in, he pulls a chair towards Olivia's bed and sits down
Int. Hospital Room
Zach begins to cry again, he puts his head in his hands, he looks at Olivia's face and holds her hand
Zach (whispering):
