Int. Hospital Room - Morning
Zach is sleeping in the chair and he wakes up, Olivia is still asleep, mirroring the opening from the previous episode, he hears a knock on the door and it opens, it's Sheriff Louis
Louis:
Can we talk outside for a minute?
Zach nods his head and follows him out the room
Louis:
Look, I'm really sorry about what happened to Olivia
Zach:
We told you that we didn't feel safe and what did you do? oh that's right, you told us to go home and lock the doors, well sheriff, look where that got us, I'm covered in my own girlfriends blood and she is laying there unconscious
Louis:
we're trying our best to find Brad and his friend
Zach:
Wanna know something that i promised Olivia what i would do? I promised her that as long as I'm around, she will be safe and i failed to keep that promise, if she died i would've--
Sheriff Louis hugs Zach, he starts to cry
Zach:
I've never been so scared in my entire life
Louis:

Int. Cave - Morning
Brad wakes up and crawls out of the cage and takes in the fresh air, he wakes up Gus
Brad:
Come on man, we gotta move
Gus wakes up and Brad helps him out of the cave
Gus:
What the hell is our next move?
Brad stops and thinks
Brad:
I don't know
Gus:
That's not much of a plan
Brad and Gus continue walking, Gus stops Brad
Gus:
Did you really almost kill that kid?
Brad doesn't answer, he pushes Gus out of the way
Brad:
We don't have time for this
Gus just stands there, baffled, Brad turns around, confused
Brad:
Gus, let's go
Gus:
remember the night before we escaped? I was honest with you about how I ended up in there, but you still haven't told me the full story of how you ended up in there
Brad:
that's because I don't remember, all i remember from that day was leaving the bathroom, the rest is just a blur
Gus:
Look, one way or another, this is going to end with one of us in handcuffs or hell both of us in handcuffs
Focus on Brad's face as it fades to the hospital
Int. Hospital Room - Afternoon
Zach is still sitting there, waiting for Olivia to wake up, he's in a fresh pair of clothes, staring off into space, closeup on a hand twitching, Zach looks over at Olivia and she slowly wakes up
Olivia (weakly):
Zach?
Zach leans over towards her, tears start to form in his eyes
Zach:
Yeah, yeah, I'm here
He grabs her hand and holds it
Olivia looks over at Zach
Olivia (weakly):
What... Happened?
Zach wipes the tears away, struggling to find an answer
Zach:
You were...um...Caught in the cross fire and got shot, you nearly died
Olivia (weakly):
that explains the sharp pain in my stomach
Zach kinda laughs, but stops himself
Olivia opens her eyes more and speaks more clearly
Olivia:
Are you ok?
Zach clears his throat
Zach:
I am now
They both smile
Olivia:
I'm sorry, Zach
Zach:
What are you sorry for?
Olivia:
I shouldn't have been in the way, i--
Zach:
Hey, hey, hey...none of this is your fault, if anything, it's my fault for trying to take the gun away from Brad
Olivia:
What do we do now?
Zach:
We let the police do their job and hopefully Brad and his friend gets captured, but all I know is that I'm not leaving your side
He holds Olivia's hand, she lays her head down and goes back to sleep, Zach still sits there with her hand in his

Int. Forest - Afternoon
Brad and Gus have made it out of the forest but the entire police department is looking for them as they watch several police cars go by from a bush
Brad sits down, Gus keeps looking on Matt's phone, Brad hears a twig snap, someone is coming
Brad quickly stands up when a deputy approaches them, gun drawn to them
Gus:
Ah Shit
Deputy:
Both of you stay right there, your under arrest
Brad:
Look, just let us go
Deputy:
not going to happen
The deputy calls it in on his radio, Gus slowly pulls out a knife, Brad looks over to him
Brad (Whispering):
What are you doing?
Gus:
Just trust me
The deputy walks towards them and goes to handcuff Gus when HE'S STABBED IN THE GUT WITH A KNIFE
Gus pulls the knife upwards and the deputy spits up blood, he drops his gun and Gus slowly puts him on the ground, Brad stands there, in shock, as the deputy looks over to him, and dies
Brad:
What the actual fuck?
Gus:
We had no choice, he was going to arrest us
Brad:
Killing him shouldn't have been an option
Gus grabs the knife and wipes the blood off it and hands it to Brad as he grabs the deputy's gun and radio
Brad:
What do we do about the body?
Gus:
We leave it
Gus walks off and Brad follows but not before closing the deputy's eyes
Brad:
I'm sorry
Brad walks off, the camera focuses on the Deputy's corpse
Smash To:
Int. Hospital Room - Afternoon
Zach is still sitting by Olivia's side, waiting for her to wake up, he looks over at the door and sees BRAD, Zach stands up
Zach:
How the hell did you--
Without any hesitation, Brad shoots Zach in the chest, the camera cuts to ZACH WAKING UP, gasping for air, it's night, he sees Olivia still sleeping, and looks down at his chest, no bullet hole, it was just a dream, a terrible one, he gets up and leaves the room and goes to the bathroom
Int. Bathroom - Night
Zach splashes water on his face, looking into the mirror, reaching over to turn the water off, his hand is still shaking, he tries to calm his nerves and he exits the bathroom and goes into Olivia's room and sits back down
Int. Hospital Room
Zach is sitting, his knee shaking nervously, Olivia turns her head and opens her eyes
Olivia:
Rough night?
Zach:
Yeah
Olivia:
What happened?
Zach:
Bad dream, how are you holding up?
Olivia:
I'm here
Zach leans over and holds her hand
Zach:
And so am i
There's a knock on the door, it's Sheriff Louis, he comes in
Louis:
Zach, we gotta talk
Zach looks at Louis
Zach:
Is it important?
Louis:
It's either I tell you or you find out on the news
Zach looks back at Olivia and stands up
Zach:
I'll be right back, ok?
Olivia smiles
Olivia:
Ok
Zach and Louis step outside and Louis shuts the door
Zach:
What's wrong?
Louis:
One of my deputies found Brad and his friend this afternoon
Zach:
That's great
Louis:
No it's not, because he was found dead in the middle of the forest with his gun and radio missing
Zach:
Oh my god
Louis:
I wanted to tell Olivia, but she has been through enough for one week
Zach:
We both have
Louis:
The problem is, we now have no idea what they're going to do next
Cut to:
Brad and Gus are on the streets, navigating through alleys, looking for a safe place for the night, they find an abandoned house and go inside, it has no power but it's good for the night
Int. Abandoned House - Night
Gus sets the gun and radio on the table, he also sets Matt's phone down and sits
Brad:
What are we going to do when we eventually run out of places to hide?
Gus:
We make the most of what we got
Brad:
We can't keep this up for much longer, we're eventually going to have to give ourselves up
Gus:
I don't know if you noticed, but considering that i killed a cop, we ain't gonna go to county, we're going straight to the state penitentiary
Brad:
Speaking of killing the cop, where did you get the knife?
Gus:
I saw it on the counter at that kid's house and when shit went down, I snagged it
Brad:
You're a completely different person than when i met you
Gus:
Here's a life lesson kid, when you got to survive, you gotta do everything in your power to stay alive
Brad:
but when it comes to taking another person's life, is that something you want on your consious?
Gus:
This is coming from the guy who nearly killed a kid for dating your sister
Brad nods his head in agreement
Gus:
Look, we gotta get some rest, we're going to go into town and find a way to get out of this fucking town and lay low for a little while
Brad:
You're right, you go to sleep, I'll keep watch
Gus gets up and lays on the floor, making himself comfortable, Brad is sitting in the chair, watching him go to sleep
He pulls out the knife and stares at it and looks at Gus, something is going through his mind and it ain't good
