Chapter 1

A/N: It's been a really long time, a lot of stuff happened, and well writing stories really took a back seat. But here I am, deciding to give it another go. This will be quite dark, so you're warned beforehand. A quick run-down of recent events in this story universe AU thing. Ezra has a younger brother, 3 years younger to him called Oliver. Both of them grew up on the streets till Bossk comes to Lothal. Oliver is around 9 years and Ezra is 12. Bossk notices Oliver's unusual physical capabilities and recruits him to be a bounty hunter. Since Ezra and Oliver need the money, they agree, and Oliver is goes with Bossk to work as a bounty hunter while Ezra stayed on Lothal. Ezra is recruited into the Ghost crew at 17 and has still been on the streets since he was 7. Ezra and Oliver do not meet again till Oliver is intercepting a shipment of T-21 disruptors, the same shipment that the Ghost crew are also intercepting for Vizago. Oliver doesn't intervene till they are back on Lothal and then he helps fight against Agent Kallus and Imperial forces. Once the shipment is destroyed and the Ghost crew with Oliver are in the clear, Oliver explains he went solo a year ago, and has been trying to earn enough money to buy a ship so he can pick up Ezra and they can get off Lothal. Oliver is 14 at this point. The Ghost crew offer him a place and he accepts. This story is set just after Always Two There Are, which I'm placing a year after Ezra joined the crew, and by proxy Oliver. Ezra and Sabine are a couple as well as Kanan and Hera. The ages are Ezra-18, Sabine-18, Oliver-15, Hera-28, Kanan-29, Zeb-40. I'm not entirely sure on the ages, so these are the ages they are for this story. Hope you enjoy the story.

Disclaimer: I don't own Star Wars, only my OC.

Oliver's POV:

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Damn alarm, I think as I throw the stupid thing across the room. It hits the wall and stops ringing.

"You know, you're going to break that thing if you keep throwing it every time you want to switch it off." Sabine's voice is accompanied by the soft hiss of a spray can. I look down to see Sabine painting yet again, at this point we might need to remove some paintings, cos there isn't any space left.

"I'm well aware of the implications of throwing that piece of junk across the room every morning, but I don't care." I tell her groggily, wiping the sleep from my eyes. She shrugs her shoulders, still painting.

"Just telling you, in case you break it and are surprised."

"I really won't be. Where's Ez? Usually, he's in here watching you, which is really creepy by the way." I ask, looking around. Ever since they became a couple, they spend nearly every waking moment together. It was cute the first couple of days, but now they're nearly as bad as Kanan and Hera.

"I think he's still in the common room, eating breakfast, and it I don't think it's creepy. It's cute how he really tries to understand art." She responds, adding the finishing touches to her new painting. It was the Ghost with a supernova as a background. I hop down from my bed and stretch my arms.

"Is that what he told you? That he watches you to try and understand art? That's some bantha shit if I ever heard it. I'll go have breakfast after I brush my teeth." I head off to the refresher without hearing her response. My body is on autopilot as I let my thoughts wash over me. Those two new inquisitors had more information than normal, they knew who Ahsoka was and knew she was important, clearly they weren't the average run-of-the-mill 3rd rate sith wannabe. I'll have to check in with a few of my contacts to see if these were specifically ordered to hunt down our cell. I head out of the refresher and back to the room I share with Sabine. I wear my bounty hunter outfit and holster my twin Westar 35s. I also holster Shadowslayer. My instincts were telling me to be prepared, and they are never wrong. I walk into the common room to see everyone eating breakfast, taking rather quietly, like they were planning something. Before I could approach them and figure out what they were planning, Chopper whizzes in from the cockpit before stopping in front of me and chirping urgently in binary.

"We're about to enter a wormhole!"

"We're what!" I say in disbelief. How did we manage to stumble on to a wormhole of all things without any alarms going off? Hearing me suddenly shout, the rest of the crew turn their heads in confusion. Zeb stands up.

"What happened? Why are-" is all he manages to say before the ship rocks violently and we are all thrown around. I get knocked unconscious; with the last thing I see being a really bright flash of light.

My head feels like I've been hit with Slave 1, not to mention my entire body is aching. The faint aching turns into immediate pain as my body registers the electricity coursing through my body. I immediately jump up. I look around to see Chopper holding his electro-claw too close for comfort.

"Bloody hell Chopper, that thing hurts, I really shouldn't have upgraded that." I say as I glare at him while rubbing my arm, trying to soothe the pain.

"Well how else was I supposed to wake your organic ass up?" He beeps back, waving his arms around. I look around to see the rest of the crew knocked out cold.

"Alright, you've somewhat got a point there. Do a damage report and see where we are while I wake everyone up." I tell him. He whizzes off to the cockpit while I decide what the best course of action would be to wake everyone up. I decide a cold shock to the system would be the best way. I fill up a few cups of water and get some towels so they can dry off. Their reactions are priceless. I make a video of their reactions for future enjoyment and possible blackmail.

"Dammit Ollie, imma kill you for doing that." Zeb angrily tells me, his face still dripping wet, everyone else is drying their faces using the towels nearby.

"Sure you will, first clean yourself up, you look like a drowned loth-rat." I know Zeb won't kill me, however Hera might, considering the look she's giving me. A tactical withdrawal might be wise.

"I'll go check up on Chopper and get a sit-rep, you guys clean up, but be ready in case we need to make a really quick exit." I quickly head over to the cockpit, hoping Hera will calm down and I won't be skinned alive.

Ezra's POV:

Here I was enjoying breakfast, trying to figure out what we could do for Oliver's birthday. Hopefully it would help him be more of the little brother I knew before Bossk took him.
"I don't know Ezra, Oliver is incredibly closed off, and very cold, especially for a 14-year-old." Kanan's voice breaks through my own thoughts. I look back at him.

"Oliver loves races, especially pod races. When we were young, he always loved the thrill of races. I'm sure he would love a surprise trip to Tatooine to watch one of the races." The rest of the crew looked cautious at best. Even Sabine.

"Come on Sab, you know him, as much as he likes to act as a grizzled bounty hunter, give him a chance and he'll act like a kid without a care in the world." Sabine nods slowly.

"That's true, however I don't think Oliver would want to celebrate his birthday. He would probably think of it as a pointless exercise. As much as you don't want to admit it, he has accepted the life of a bounty hunter. He's already deep in the world of the underground, I don't think we can pull him out." She replies. I look down. Oliver has changed, but I know he's not like those bounty hunters, he still only a kid, and he deserves to be one.

"I know, but that doesn't mean he still can't be a kid, especially on his birthday. That's why we have to make it special for him, so he feels like a kid, not a bounty hunter or rebel." Hera nods, accepting my point.

"Alright then, so pod racing on Tatooine then?" She asks us all. We all nod. Sabine leans on me, quietly whispering,

"Oliver is lucky to have a brother like you." I shake my head, guilt filling me.

"No, a good brother wouldn't have let him go with Bossk." I whisper back. She looks at me and touches my cheek.

"You two had to do what you needed to survive. You both knew you couldn't sustain the both of you, and with Bossk, Oliver could make his way back with enough credits to get you both off Lothal." She had a point there, but it doesn't help me feel any better. I was about to about to reply before I heard Oliver shout.

"We're what!" We all look over at him and Chopper, with Chopper beeping in rapid binary. Zeb stands up and asks,

"What happened? Why are- " is all he manages to say before the Ghost violently rocks and we are knocked unconscious.

That brings me to where we are now, dripping wet thanks to Oliver pouring water on our faces to wake us up. Knowing him, he's probably recorded our reactions. He quickly goes to the cockpit after seeing Hera's expression. At least his self-preservation instincts are on point. I turn to Sabine.

"You ok?" She nods and looks back.

"One hell of a headache, but that's it, what about you?" I also nod, apart from the rude wake-up, I feel fine.

"I'm fine, still in a bit of shock from the wake-up call." I turn to see the rest of the crew walking towards us.

"You two alright?" Kanan asks, we both nod in confirmation. Hera looks to the cockpit, the anger completely gone from her face.

"Honestly, it was quite nice to see Oliver act his age, even if I'm not the happiest with how he chose to wake us up." Hera says what we are all thinking, Oliver rarely acts like the 14-year-old he is supposed to be. We all head into the cockpit to see Oliver sitting in the pilot seat tapping various screens on the Ghost's main console while Chopper is plugged in and beeping at Oliver.

"You sure this is accurate?" Oliver asks Chopper, in response he gets some angry beeping.

"I know the nav-com is annoying, but work round that this time." More beeping.

"Well then, we're either screwed, or dead. Or both." We all look at each other in confusion, even Hera, even though she can actually understand Chopper.

"What do you mean we are screwed?" Kanan asks. Oliver and Chopper turn to look at us in surprise. Chopper looks at Oliver and beeps. He then turns his dome back to us. Oliver glares at Chopper.

"Thanks Chop, you're a great friend." Sarcasm lacing his words. Chopper just beeps back. Oliver then looks at us.

"Well, I've got bad news and very bad news. Which one do you guys want to hear first?" Hera sits next to Oliver to look at the readouts while me and Sab sit in the other chairs. Kanan and Zeb just cross their arms and stand.

"Let's go with the bad news first." Zeb answers, possibly bracing himself. Oliver takes a deep breath.

"Well, our hyperdrive is severely damaged, weapons are barely function. We can fly but we can't jump to hyperspace. Which is bad news because we really don't want to be anywhere near here." We all look at each other again.

"Ollie, where are we?" Sabine asks, fear lacing her voice, which shows that she is terrified of the answer. Hera looks at us, fear clear in her eyes.

"We're on Coruscant."

A/N: So, I ended it the same way as before, you all know that it's not as bad as it sounds. I just want to clarify a few things before I end this chapter. Oliver was trained by Bossk and Boba Fett during his time as Bossk's protégé. This is where he gets the Westar 35s. His outfit as well as the Shadowslayer will both be covered in a later chapter. Oliver was a bounty hunter since he was 9, and he was good at it. He also has the force, but his ability in the force will be explained later on, as well as his connections to the criminal underworld. I don't know when I'll update again, hopefully soon. I hope you all enjoyed reading this chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it. I'll see you all in the next one.

Star Wars Assassin.
