Chapter 8: Breaking Point
At this point, Zooli was no longer alone. She was with one of her closest friends. We talked about Urchin, although he was different. Despite the change, he was still a good boy. The girl explained to her friend about the whole situation, about "her world" of hers, where everything was different. Where things were relatively better. Zooli believed he was going to take her like crazy.
"I mean, let's see if I understand ... In "your world", your parents are dead and you live with your aunt. And in "your world", the Bubble Guppies were your friends. And you and I were part of that group, right?" Urchin tried to process all this information.
"Exactly. In fact, they are different than they are here. Even the "you from my world" is a little different. "You" use a wheelchair in my version" Zooli added. Urchin was silent for some minutes.
"Zooli ... I'm starting to think that everything you're telling me is crazy. However, I still believe you" Urchin sentenced.
"Huh?" She was surprised.
"Well, according to my memory, I did use a wheelchair because of a birth disability. However, my family is rich and they were able to pay for expensive operations. If you say that in "your world" I am still in wheelchairs, it is as if there is a change in time. Events that should occur but did not occur. It's like ... a kind of time paradox. Hehehe I really like conspiracies" Urchin explained his theory.
"Time...paradox?" Zooli asked.
"It is difficult to explain. It is related to the Butterfly Effect or the Chaos Theory. But ... let's put that aside. What you care about is getting your friends together, right?" Urchin asked. Zooli agreed with him.
"Of course! But ... How will we gather the others? Some of them won't accept an invitation from me" Zooli started to think it better.
"Very well. Do any of them believe you?" Urchin asked.
"Oona believes me ... partially" Zooli answered.
"Well….You have to call her" We can work together to reunite them" Urchin determined.
"Yeah….maybe I can convince Oona. But what about the rest?" Zooli asked.
"Hahahaha I have a plan. I know them a little. Just follow it" He winked at her.
Both teens planned their strategy to get the others together. Zooli called Oona. She believed her friend. The plan was beginning to work perfectly. Zooli asked Oona to convince her boyfriend Goby to go together at a specific point. Which was not very difficult. Urchin posed as an anime fan to convince Nonny. He was difficult to convince, but he finally agreed. The biggest challenge would be Deema, since because of her self-centered attitude, she would not speak to Urchin or Oona. So Urchin decided to cheat on Deema over the phone. He had her phone number thanks to her social networks. So Urchin posed as one of Deema's friends on the phone.
Finally the moment arrived. Zooli and Urchin were sitting at a large table in a restaurant. They had asked for more seats. The couple waited for about 10 minutes until their first goals arrived. It was the couple Oona and Goby. They were holding hands. Goby was surprised to see Zooli, however, Oona whispered something to him and they both sat next to Zooli without saying a word. The next target entered the scene. It was about Nonny. He obviously rolled his eyes when he saw Oona next to Goby. He planned to retreat until he saw Urchin. He recognized the boy so he sat next to him. Finally, the last objective arrived. It was Deema. She viewed everyone else with a certain hatred. She walked over and sat next to Nonny without saying anything else. Goby, Deema, Oona and Nonny looked at each other with such hatred. But nobody said anything. Urchin was a little concerned, but Zooli was determined. The meeting was a success, it was time for the hardest part.
"Wow ... it's been a long time ... Oona. It seems that your relationship with Goby has lasted longer than I expected" Deema commented with a tiny evil smile.
"Well ... our relationship is more stable than your relationship with Nonny. You two didn't last more than 2 months, did you?" Oona counter attacked verbally.
"Nah, things happen, "friend." I'm better off with James as my boyfriend" Deema smirked. Goby just rolled his eyes.
"Did you leave me ... for James? Hmpt it shows that you are not the smartest in the world" Nonny commented.
"Ha! I finally agree with Nonny with something" Oona smirked.
"What are you saying, worm?" Deema asked bothered.
"Okay, everybody! Calm down! You are here because Zooli and I brought you all together here. I'll let Zooli tell you" Urchin intervened.
"Listen to me all! I know you don't know me. But I do to you. You were the Bubble Guppies, the best friends in the world. You respected each other, you helped each other, you loved each other. What happened to all that?" Zooli explained all of this.
"Maybe we would still be together if SOMEONE hadn't cheated on me with my friend" Goby commented looking at Deema.
"What did you say, stupid?" Deema glared at Goby "To what I remember you started to be unfaithful to me with Oona"
"At least we don't kiss ... not like you two" Oona pointed to Deema and Nonny.
"And who caused that? I'll give you a hint ... You two!" Deema answered angrily.
"Silence, everyone! We do not bring you together to open old wounds. We just want you to try to fix your differences" Urchin intervined.
"Yeah! Perhaps you forgot something important. You guys have forgotten about Molly and Gil" Zooli added.
"Molly? She disappeared without telling us anything" Deema commented.
"And Gil? He doesn't care about us anymore" Goby crossed his arms.
"I don't blame Gil for parting ways with the group. After all, who wants to be with a bride thief like him?" Nonny pointed to Goby.
"What do you say, four eyes?" Goby clenches his fists.
"I only tell the truth. Does the truth offend you, nigger?" Nonny provoke him.
"Do not mess with him!" Oona defended his actual boyfriend.
"Shut up! This is not with you" Nonny said it to Oona.
"Wow, Nonny. Now I see why she left you for me" Goby smirked.
"Grrrr shut up" Nonny was getting angrier.
"Euh...guys?" Urchin tried to prevent something worse.
"You don't get it, weirdo. It is obvious that nobody loves you. After all, your real parents abandoned you. And it was all because they hated you!" Goby said it with evil. Zooli, Deema and Oona gasped.
"I'LL KILL YOU, DAMN!" Nonny shouted. He, without thinking twice, got up and threw himself at Goby to give him a beating.
Goby obviously wouldn't let go and both boys started hitting each other. Oona decided to try to separate Nonny from Goby. But he hit her. This Oona was no longer sensitive and peaceful, so she struck back at Nonny. Deema walked over and decided to punch Oona in the face. In short, the girls fought each other and the boys did too. The other people in the restaurant looked on in amazement and a little terrified at the chaos and destruction they were causing.
"Guys, stop!" Zooli shouted.
"Please stop! We come to make amends, do not make war worse!" Urchin added. He approached them trying to stop the conflict. But Goby accidentally knocks Urchin to the ground and he ends up with a black eye. This became the last straw for Zooli. And at that moment, something exploded in her.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Zooli screamed a lot. The scream was so loud that Goby, Deema, Oona and Nonny stopped the fight and they turned to look around. What they had caused. The place a bit destroyed, they left Urchin on the ground with a blow to the eye. He was trying to recover. The four guppies saw Zooli again. She had anger on her face. It was already the height of her patience "Look at you all! Gil spent the past year looking for our leader, and you're just standing here arguing over the pettiest things!" Zooli faced his old friends. Out of rage, she slammed the table to get attention. "You ought to be ashamed of yourselves!"
Without saying anything else, she decided to leave without saying anything else. Urchin managed to get up from her and decided to follow her silently. The others fell silent seeing what they had caused. The four were with marks of blows that were given to each other. Deema and Oona's hair were a mess. Goby had some blood on his nose and Nonny had his glasses with some cracks from the fight. Everyone just looked at each other in silence. But they weren't angry anymore ... they were ... disappointed in themselves.
"What kind of monsters are we?" Oona said it. Some seconds were silent for them.
"Yeah...we are monsters...Molly and Gil have always been great friends to us, and this is how we repay them?" Goby admitted, leaving his own proud.
"We are a shame, indeed" Nonny recognized.
Things turned out worse than they had planned. Everything will remain lost. Was everything Zooli had done in vain? What will the remaining Bubble Guppies do? Will they do something about it or will they just grieve about it and do nothing? Did ... Zooli give up?
