Chapter 9: Raising Spirits

Everything Zooli planned, everything she had believed, everything she wanted ... had collapsed in a few minutes. Her friends were no longer the same people she knew. It seems that when she left the restaurant she made the decision to give up. She was coming home slowly. She didn't really want to go back, but there was no other way. Zooli opened the door and her parents welcomed her with open arms, ready to celebrate her birthday.

"We are ready to sing you "Happy Birthday!" and eat cake. Your aunt Khloe said she couldn't come until tomorrow" Zooli´s mom said. She noticed her daughter´s sad face "Hey...What's wrong, sweetie?"

"Honey, it's your special day. No one should be sad on their birthday" Her dad added. They were worried.

"I….well….Everything is so complicated. You wouldn't understand" Zooli answered with her low tone.

"Come on, my love. You can tell us" Zoey said.

"We are your parents. We care about you" Miles added it.

"I don´t know. I do not know what I'm going to do. My friends are angry with each other. And I wanted them to get back together because that's not how things should be. My friend is in danger and only we can help her. But ... how is it possible to do it if we are not together. All my friends suffer and I am the only one having a good time. That's not fair!" Zooli explained the whole situation. We could say that some tears came to her eyes. It was not an emotional breakdown but it was a great sadness for her. The couple did not know what to say at the time. They only consoled her for a long time and waited at the right time to answer her.

"Zooli ... we understand that things don't always go our way. But, we must learn to move on without the people we no longer count. I know, it is difficult, but it is part of life" Zoey answered.

"But...but….They were my best friends. They can't end like this" Zooli intervened.

"I know you love them very much, but if they don't give you support ... I wouldn't count on it. Look, your friend needs you, right? Then you must help her, even when others do not. Zooli ... Evil wins when good people do nothing. Are you going to do something about it?" Her dad explained. Zooli started to analyze it. They were right! If the Bubble Guppies won't help her, she'll do it alone. Someone has to save Molly. So she just got up, her spirits lifted, and prepared to go out again.

"What are you going to do, daughter? Where are you going?" Zoey asked.

"I have to save my friend. I´ll be back. I promise" Zooli hugged them one more time.

And without wasting any more time, she left the house to look for someone she knew would help her. A few minutes later, she realized that someone was waiting for her.

"Uffff I finally found you!"

"Urchin!" Zooli was surprised in a good way.

"I was looking for you. Listen to me, our plan didn't go well. But ... we can find your friend Molly on our own, right? The others left you, but I ... I will be with you. Helping you in the search. I will not leave you alone" Urchin explained his true intentions.

"Wow" Zooli blushed a little "Ejem...anyway...I know somebody who can help us" She had someone who can work together. As the two of them walked towards the most dangerous areas of the city, Urchin was a little worried.

"I have a bad feeling about this. Who is the person we are looking for?" Urchin asked very nervous. They both entered an alley that was guarded by some youthful gang members. Zooli was calm but Urchin was very scared. A large, strong fish appeared in front of them, looking intimidating.

"Are you looking for someone, little brats?" He said in an intimidating way

"I want to see your boss…..Gil Gordon" Zooli said very bravely. The rest were surprised. Some minutes later, he appeared.

"Oh it's you again. And I see you brought your boyfriend here" Gil commented. Both of the, blushed a lot.

"N...Noo. We are just friends!" Zooli answered nervous,

"Y...yeah. I mean….I´m helping her to find Molly….right?" Urchin added.

"Yes of course, of course. Anyway ... seriously you two are going to help me find Molly" Gil asked. Both of them nodded "Hmpt it´s better than nothing. Come here" Gil decided to take them to a quieter place.

Although it sounded weird, he took them to the park. And they sat at a picnic table to talk.

"So you guys want to start our search? It will be complicated" Gil commented.

"The truth would be better with more help, but the truth is we tried to seek more help but it was not possible" Urchin explained.

"It does not matter. We will find it with what we have" Gil was determined.

"You're sure? I mean, it is very difficult to find someone without much evidence" Zooli asked.

"Not if you have more help"

Gil, Zooli, and Urchin noticed that someone else had arrived. When they turned to look, they discovered something shocking. It was not a single person ... There were four! It seems that they had arrived at the right time.
