Love Buddies
Chapter 1
It was wintertime in Fernfield Washington. There was only a bit of snow on the ground and it was mostly frosty.
Valentine's day was coming and the school was getting ready for Valentine's Day. beautiful pink, red and purple decorations were hung-up all-over school.
Rosebud was walking to school with her owner Alice. Rosebud's four older brothers, Budderball, B-Dawg, Mudbud and Buddha were arriving at school with their kids and Alice's friends. Bartleby, Billy, Peter and Sam.
"Hi Alice" said the boys happily.
"Hi guys" replied Alice in the same cheerful tone. Then the five friends walked into school, while Rosebud talked to her brothers.
"Valentine's day is just a week away," said Rosebud excitedly. "Alice is just as excited; she's been designing a new outfit for me to wear on Valentine's Day!"
"I'm sure it'll look very nice" said Mudbud.
"Bartleby's having candy Valentine's made for everyone" added Budderball. He licked his lips. "Valentine's day is a day full of sweet treats."
"Yes, Valentine's Day is one of the days of the year where love fills the world" agreed Buddha in his usual soft, mystic tone.
"Well I think it's kind of silly to make a holiday with all this talk of love dawg" retorted B-Dawg. "I mean people say "I love you" every day of the year.
"Oh brother," scoffed Rosebud. "You're just saying that cause you haven't found a girl to love."
"Never gonna happen" declared B-Dawg his head held high.

Meanwhile inside the school, the kids were in art class making Valentine's Day cards for their friends and families.
Alice was drawing in a sketch book. One by one her friends looked up from their work to see her drawings of designs of beautiful dresses.
"Wow Alice," said Billy. "You're designs are amazing!"
"Yeah," agreed Bartleby. "You'll be a great designer one day."
"Thanks," said Alice a bit modestly. "I've been videotaping my designs and showing them online. I've been getting great reviews."
But little did Alice, her friends or the buddies knew was that this wasn't going to be an ordinary Valentine's Day.
Author's note; As you might know Santa Buddies was a Christmas special and Spooky Buddies was a Halloween special. But I always found it strange that they didn't do a special for Valentine's Day or Easter. So, I thought I'd write my own. Happy Valentine's day everyone.
