"Hey, Tomoki!" Paimon shouted, and Aether winced. "Paimon, calm down," he said, and Kazuha laughed. "Hey guys! Hey, Kazuha!" Tomoki said, looking enthusiastically surprised at Kazuha's appearance. "Oh, you know me?" Kazuha asked, equally bemused. "Yeah," Tomoki responded. "Everyone's heard about how you saved the Traveler's life and helped everyone get back their Visions!" Kazuha shook his head. "Oh, no, I was just doing my part. And everyone got their Visions back thanks to the Traveler, not me. It's him you should be thanking." Aether scratched his head, flattered. "You guys..." Paimon wasn't very pleased. "Hey, I was with you the whole time! How come I don't get any credit?" Aether smiled awkwardly. "Hey, um, how about that dango milk?" Tomoki looked at Kazuha. "Do you want one?" he asked, and Kazuha nodded. "I'm up for anything new."
Tomoki rubbed his hands together. "Great! How many?"
"Three," Aether responded, eyeing Paimon who still had her arms crossed in irritation. "Hmph! That's right, three! Because I'm important too!"
"No one said you weren't important, Paimon. You just... don't do much," Kazuha said lightly. "Hey!" Paimon shouted. "Not you too!"
Kazuha smiled as he received his bottle of Dango Milk, and Tomoki handed two more to Aether and Paimon. "Thank you," Kazuha said, and Tomoki smiled. "No problem. That will be 4,500 Mora." Kazuha promptly walked away and Paimon floated after him. "Kazuha, wait up," she cried, and Aether sighed as he watched them go.
"Every single time," he groaned, and handed over the money. "Thanks again," Tomoki said. "I mean, without your help, and the Raiden Shogun's help of course, dango milk wouldn't be as popular as it is now." Aether smiled a little. "It's popular because people like it. We just had to... get them exposed to it first, you know?" He turned to see Paimon and Kazuha chattering quite a ways down the street and shook his head. "I have to go after them. See you later!" Aether quickly caught up to them, and Kazuha's bottle was empty by the time he arrived. "Wow, this is amazing," he said, looking at the empty bottle and then smiling at Aether. "But I don't have much of an appetite anymore."
"It's a good lunch if you don't have anything else," Paimon chimed in. "But we have a lot of things," Aether said quickly, "So that's not really necessary."
"I'll keep that in mind, Paimon, thank you." Kazuha took in a deep breath, slowly closing his eyes. "Mmm. Do you feel that?" A cool breeze blew through the air, ruffling their hair and their clothes gently. Kazuha opened his eyes after a long moment of contemplative silence.
"A storm is on the horizon, just as I thought," he said calmly, and Aether and Paimon looked at each other. "Commissions!" they chorused, and at Kazuha's confused look, Paimon said, "It's annoying to do them in the rain." They hastily apologized to him for leaving halfway through their leisure time, but he shook his head. "Don't worry about it," he said. "I think I'll head in that direction too." Aether and Paimon quickly ran off, and Kazuha looked on after them. "A storm," he murmured to himself as he walked in the direction they had gone.
"Would that make for a good haiku?" He laughed to himself. "Well, it certainly be an interesting start to one... hm." His fingers traced over the bandages on his right hand idly. "I'll keep that in mind."
Well I guess I'm writing Genshin stuff now. Never thought I'd see the day.
Hope you enjoyed!
