Living in the Highlands
Lady Countryrose
Ch. 10
The next morning, Severus saw Sirius Black had fallen asleep outside his door. Cuddling a near empty bottle of firewhiskey. Severus huffed, but walked over the sleeping man. Then made his way to the dining room. Where Minerva gave him a worried face.
Severus Snape gave her a hard stare. "Out with it, madam, I don't have all day!"
Causing Harry to bite his lips from smiling. Minerva sighed, "I couldn't find Sirius this morning, when I was trying to wake him to come down."
"Have you checked my doorway, it was where I had found him. Dead asleep."
Minerva gave him a hard look. "Well, I guess I better count myself lucky, since you hadn't hexed him."
Severus chuckled as he fixed himself a cup of coffee. "The day is still young, Minerva."
Severus could see the hint of worry in Harry's eyes. "Now, Harry. Don't worry about Black, he is like a dog. He never knows what's good for him."
A laugh let out behind them. Causing to turn around to see Sirius. "Why don't you tell the boy all of our secrets." He waved his hands, before he sat down next to Harry with glee in his eyes. "Your Dad and I are animagus. Your Dad was a stag, while I was a dog."
"Mr. Black, really," gasped Minerva with anger in her eyes. "When did this occur!"
Sirius turned to her with a smile. "Fifth year, it was for Remus."
Minerva glared at him before turning towards Severus. "Did you know about this?"
"Their nicknames weren't all that imaginative. They had to mean something. Padfood, dog. Prongs, deer. Moony, werewolf."
Minerva glared at him harshly. "You could have been killed! Being an animagus is dangerous if you don't know what you're doing."
Harry looked from one adult to the next with confusion on his face. "What are you talking about?"
Severus glared at Sirius before turning towards Harry. "An animagus is a wizard or witch, who has the ability to turn into an animal."
Harry smiled wholeheartedly. "My Dad was a stag, like a deer?"
Sirius chuckled, "Yes he was, antlers and all." His smile grew even more. "His antlers were quite sharp. I remember him poking me in the arse. Just because he thought it was funny."
Severus couldn't help but laugh at the image. "I imagined that you deserved it, Black." He watched Harry, only to see that was smiling a lot. Even at his dry humor from the stories.
"Now see here, Snape!" Sirius giving him a playful glare. "Out of all the years at Hogwarts, I don't remember you having any bit of fun!"
Severus glared right back, crossing his arms over his chest. "That is because of Lily. But I did one thing that you had thought Potter had done."
Harry popped up at that statement. "What did you do?"
Severus smirked, while Sirius looked pale. "I swapped his shampoo for hair dye. He was sporting blonde hair for a month. Not realizing that it was his shampoo."
Sirius glared heatedly, "It didn't help that James had put a permanent color absorber in my conditioner. Making it last that long. I swear, I think you and James had planned this together."
"Nope," replied Severus. "But Potter wasn't hard to read."
Sirius gaped at him in disbelief. "How about you become blonde, I would like to see you try."
"I would probably look better than you," stated Severus with very little effort.
Only to cause Harry to laugh uncontrollably. While Minerva zapped them on their bums. "You two are such children, I am surprised that you have grown up."
"Oh, Minie," cried Sirius. "But I have missed you so much." He looked around for a moment. "What is the plan for the day?"
Minerva glared at Sirius. "Severus and I have to go back to school, and do our jobs. Harry has to come to the school, since he had gotten kicked out."
Sirius gasped, "What got you kicked out, kid?"
"He died a few kids' hair orange, due to being bullied," stated Severus. Only for Sirius to laugh. "You are on your way to be a Marauder, kid."
Severus sighed, "Being a Marauder is not a good thing, you mutt or have you forgotten that you bullied the crap out of me."
Sirius sighed, "I was a stupid kid, who rebelled against everything that his family valued. And that includes Slytherin."
Harry piped up from there. "Uncle Sev, you are a Slytherin."
Severus glared at Sirius. "Yes, Harry, I am. Like I had said. Not every house can have all good or bad in it. Have you forgotten about Pettigrew or your cousin, Andromeda?"
Sirius sighed, "No, Snape. I haven't." He sounded defeated from that statement alone. But Severus knew he had been out of Azkaban for less than twenty-four hours. Technically, Sirius was mentally twenty-one. Without the proper time to evaluate his age of reference.
Severus sighed, "You can come to the school. But I will not have a flea bitten hide on my couch."
"Eye, eye, sir." Sirius saluted him. Before he got up onto his feet. Then they were off to Hogwarts.
'Why am I allowing him to come?'
