A/N: I live! Here's a short oneshot featuring one of my favorite ships.
I don't own Naruto.
Tea and Honey
Hinata hung onto Sasuke's arm, a light blush dusting her cheeks as Sasuke fumbled with his keys. His hands trembled, his heart threatened to pound its way out of his chest, and he felt just the slightest bit lightheaded. His date with Hinata had been as close to perfect as it could be. The dinner was lovely, the conversation was even lovelier, and he'd finally worked up the nerve to ask her to come home with him.
Ever the gentleman, he held the door open for her and ushered her inside, taking one last glance at her. Her dark blue hair shone like a serene pond in the moonlight, her lavender eyes glistened like pearls, and the blush on her cheeks made his heart flutter. She gave him a small smile as she crossed the threshold and thanked him quietly. Sasuke swallowed the lump in his throat before taking a deep breath to try and calm his nerves.
The Uchiha turned the kitchen light on and hung up his coat before taking Hinata's. Her cheeks reddened even more at how courteous he was, and her heart skipped a beat as he went to put on a pot of tea and told her to make herself at home. She had been so sure that her heart belonged to Naruto all this time, but Sasuke was completely unexpected in the best way possible. He was so kind, polite, and considerate. She never expected the same boy who had a fan club at the academy to be such a good man.
Fate seemed to have a sense of humor. Since she had started talking to Sasuke more, Naruto's confession of her feelings being unreciprocated hadn't hurt nearly as much as she thought. A small part of her was relieved that she wouldn't have to be the one to hurt Naruto's feelings and tell him that she had begun to have eyes for his best friend. What she didn't know was that Naruto had been planning this all along, and that Sasuke felt the same unconditional affection for her that she once did for the blond.
Sasuke sat next to her, handing her a cup of tea. She thanked him quietly as she took a sip. A pregnant silence passed between them before Sasuke found his voice once more.
"I, uh…I had f-fun tonight, Hinata."
"I did t-too…"
Sasuke fidgeted, causing the Hyūga to turn her lavender eyes to him, a puzzled expression on her porcelain face.
She set her tea down as she turned to him. "Is s-something wrong?"
Sasuke's mouth drew into a tight line before he took another deep breath. "Hinata…I…I just wanted to tell you th-that I th-think you're…you're…b-b-beautiful."
Hinata's cheeks flushed crimson as she snapped her gaze away from him.
"Th-thank you, Sasuke. B-but, I'm really not all that beautif—"
"But you are!" Sasuke blurted. He slapped a hand over his mouth. Hinata stared at him wide-eyed, her whole face as red as the tomatoes Sasuke loved so much.
He took another deep breath. "Hinata, you really are b-beautiful. I w-wouldn't lie about that. But you're not just beautiful. You're k-kind and c-caring and sweet and…g-gentle."
Hinata sat frozen. Her lavender eyes the size of the dinner plates from the restaurant as she stared at Sasuke. Her heartbeat echoed in her ears, her stomach tumbling over itself. She could swear that Sasuke was inching ever closer as he continued.
"I know we've only been on a few dates…but I r-really like you, Hinata. I mean, I've always had a c-c-crush on you, ever since we were in the academy, b-but after getting to spend some time with y—"
"I like you, t-too, Sasuke," she blurted out. Both of their faces flushed crimson. By this point, Hinata's cheeks were hot enough that Chōji could use them to cook meat. Sasuke's eyes bulged as he stared into Hinata's lavender orbs.
Another few moments of silence passed between them as they sat; both were petrified to try anything for fear of overstepping any boundaries. Sasuke finally found his voice again.
"Um…Hinata?"
The Hyūga let out a small squeak in response.
Sasuke blushed even harder as he stumbled over his words. "Is it okay if I, I mean c-c-can I…" He took a quivering breath. "C-can I k-k-kiss you?"
Hinata nearly fainted. Steam would be radiating off her cheeks if they were any hotter, and her heart was pounding against her ribcage. She stared at the man in front of her: his enchanting onyx eyes, his sharp jawline, his spiky black hair. She swallowed hard before giving the tiniest nod of approval.
Sasuke's heart leapt into his throat as leaned forward, closing the distance between them. Lavender met onyx one last time before their eyes fluttered closed. Sasuke brushed his lips against Hinata's. The kiss was chaste and quick, but the bliss that they both felt was unparalleled. Once more, Sasuke pressed his lips against Hinata's; they were unimaginably soft. Sasuke's heart melted as he unconsciously moved closer to her.
Hinata's brain was on overload. Sasuke had her first kiss. His lips were soft but had an underlying strength to them as he kissed her again. Snapping herself back into the moment, she pressed her own lips against his as she moved closer to him. She placed one hand against his chest, while the other moved to cup his cheek. She sighed dreamily into the kiss, feeling his heartbeat against her hand while feeling the passion come through in the deepening lip-lock.
She wanted to be bold. Her hand moved from his cheek to his hair, her fingers entwining themselves in the black locks. Hinata flicked her tongue across Sasuke's lips, asking him for permission. His breath hitched as their mouths opened and they tasted each other. A wave of bliss broke over the couple as Hinata gripped Sasuke's shirt and combed through his hair. Sasuke wrapped his arms around Hinata's waist as she let out a small moan at the contact, pushing herself even closer to him, savoring the faint sweetness that neither could get enough of.
They reluctantly broke their kiss to breathe. Both their faces were as red as could be as they breathed deeply, their hearts pounding. Sasuke leaned forward, planting a gentle kiss on Hinata's forehead before he rested his forehead against hers and shut his eyes.
Hinata shut her eyes as well. She felt so content, so loved, so safe. It was only her second kiss, but it was a sensation unlike anything she'd felt before. A swarm of butterflies fluttered about in her stomach as she was overcome with bliss.
Sasuke's voice was barely above a whisper as he spoke, his eyes still shut and his forehead still against hers. "Hinata?"
She hummed in response.
"Would you…be my girlfriend?"
The Hyūga slowly opened her lavender orbs to meet Sasuke's onyx ones. The smallest smile tugged at her mouth as she whispered to him. "I would like that very much."
She leaned up and planted a gentle kiss upon his lips before resting her head against his chest.
A/N: Full disclaimer: this is actually kinda old. It hasn't really seen the light of day up until now. I forget why I wrote it, not gonna lie. I must've gotten bored and had the itch to write Sasuke being an absolute disaster around Hinata. I was a little hesitant to post it, but it's fluff, and my readers know how much I adore fluff. Thanks so much for reading!
