Rapunzel and her children were brought to the train station for the morning departure, where it was packed with evacuating children as they were leaving their families.

"Don't cry, son" said one father.

"Say hello to your uncle" said a sad mother.

"Goodbye, darling, we love you" cried another.

Then, an announcement came over the speakers.

"Children and evacuation staff... Attention, would all parents ensure that their children have the appropriate identification papers."

Rapunzel made sure Elroy had his identification paper. Daphne had already checked hers.

"Promise me you'll look after Elroy" Rapunzel said to Daphne, tears gleaming in her eyes.

"I will, Mother" nodded Daphne. "And to tell him Flynn Pan stories to keep his mind away from the war."

"That's my girl. I know it's hard losing your father but after last night, you can do anything."

"I know."

"He would so proud of you and so am I."

Then a loud voice called out.

"All aboard!"

Children were escorted to the train, handing out their tickets and papers, some took their seats others hung out the windows to wave goodbye to their parents.

"Good-bye! Bye-bye! I love you! Bye, Mommy! I love you!"

Daphne and Elroy peeked out of the window as Rapunzel pushed her way to the front of the barrier. They wave to each other calling bye!

"Bye-bye, dears" called out Rapunzel.

Daphne and Elroy waved and shouted to their mother as the train started to leave the station.

"Bye, Mom. We'll miss you! See you soon. Bye! Write to us, Mom! Love you!"

Rapunzel was heartbroken, having lost her husband and being separated from her children, but somehow she knew that the war will end and her children will be back soon.

When Daphne and Elroy finally arrived the countryside of England, they met up with Flora, one of the owners of a cottage that they were staying in.

"Now, there will be a gentleman staying at the house" she said to the children. "We found him, looking for shelter. He seemed lost and confused and he has a strange animal for a companion."

When they reached the cottage, Daphne took a moment and thought everything over as questions raced through her mind.

Is her dad here? Is he hurt? Didn't the soldier say this morning that he was dead?

Once opened the door, Daphne and Elroy couldn't believe their eyes!

"Dastardly!" Daphne gasped in surprise.

It was the old captain himself, well he didn't look much like a captain anymore. He looked different, looked like a normal person, but better yet he looked happy. He was wearing a purple knitted vest over a black shirt, grey trousers, a small bowtie and a red glove on his left hand. The bags under his eyes were gone and there was Muttley, getting his fur brushed by Merryweather.

Daphne and Elroy approached Dastardly.

"I suppose you didn't expect to see Muttley or me?" he chuckled.

"No, but how are you here?" Daphne asked anxiously.

"Oh, let's just say we had a little minor assistance."

Elroy peeked out the window and saw Twilight and Sunny, who both winked their eyes at him.

Later that night while everyone was asleep, Daphne stared at the beautiful diamond night sky, thinking about her trip to Never Land and her father's death.

Dastardly came up beside her, staring at the stars as well.

"Can't sleep?" asked Daphne.

Dastardly shook his head. "No. I suppose you can't sleep either."

"No."

Dastardly could sense Daphne's sadness. Even if they barely knew each other, they could understand the other's emotions.

"I miss them" sighed Daphne. "We had to leave our mother and our father's gone."

"How old were you when he…?"

"He left for war when I was younger."

"Oh, sorry."

"It's okay. I promised to take care of my mother and Elroy before he left. And now he's gone… I feel like the promise has been broken."

Dastardly held her hand, gently pulling her in for a comforting hug.

Just then, Flynn flew down and landed in front of Daphne and Dastardly, making them jump.

"Flynn?" gasped Daphne.

"What are you doing here?" Dastardly whispered without a hint of anger.

Flynn felt his stomach tied up in knots.

"You've changed, you stupid old codfish! You left and everything is worse!" the boy yelled.

Dastardly shushed him, he didn't want to wake Elroy and get Flora, Fauna or Merryweather upset. He didn't flinch at this, he didn't even look surprised.

Of course, he forgot about me leaving Never Land already he thought to himself.

"Yes, I know" said Dastardly. "We all have changed and so have you. Part of growing up is wanting change, it's not a bad thing."

Flynn didn't like what he was hearing, but to him it seemed like Dastardly was happy to be back where he truly belonged. He began to see his rival in a new light.

"Listen, Captain, I never really got a chance to thank you for all the stuff you did" he said. "Helping Daphne and battle Zhan Tiri and stuff. And sorry for being a pain."

"Oh, actually, Pan, I'm the one who should be thanking you" replied Dastardly. "You did me a big favor by dragging the children into our business."

Not understanding, Flynn sat on the window sill and decided to listen.

Daphne immediately backed off, giving them space but listened. Elroy watched the conversation from the hallway, he had gotten up for a cup of cold water and happened to hear Flynn and Dastardly on his way.

With a shaky breath, Dastardly finally spoke though afraid of reopening old wounds.

"You see...when I lost my hand, I didn't just lose a physical piece of myself...I lost a part of my soul."

The subject of his missing hand was still the one thing that he never felt entirely comfortable talking about to anyone. Yet the moment seemed right.

Dastardly continued. "For a long time, I couldn't even complete a task as simple as tying ropes or cutting food on my own… And I have to teach myself how to do most things again, even though it requires using the hand that did not feel natural to me… And I couldn't have learned that I've been so blind with obession and revenge on the wrong person if Rapunzel and Daphne haven't interfered. So, I'm sorry for blaming you… Flynn."

Flynn was quite surprised of hearing Dastardly calling his name in a friendly manner but he gave an understanding nod, he forgave the captain after all these years.

Dastardly nodded back, forgiving the boy for the trouble.

"Daphne?" Elroy yawned. "I had a bad dream."

Hearing the yawn, Daphne turned to see Elroy awake.

"Gotta go" Daphne said. "Bye, Flynn."

Flynn waved back, then flew off.

"But don't forget, the next you come back, by hook or crook, you're mine!" Dastardly called out. "I haven't forgotten that ''codfish on a hook'' comment."

"Hey, next time is a long way off" laughed Flynn.

Flynn Pan and Twilight Sparkle, along with the Lost Boys, continued to have endless adventures in Neverland after the final war against Zhan Tiri.

Together, they fought many of the other villains that would threaten their home. Their playful war against the Northuldra would still go on, and if any more pirates invaded their island, they would make sure that they would never set foot on their home ever again.

After the war ended, Rapunzel eventually was reunited with Daphne and Elroy.

They continued living in the nursery for many more years. Every now and then, Elroy would go with Flynn on his amazing adventures. Rapunzel could never get enough of hearing those adventures. Daphne, even though she was busy with school and going out with a cute boy named Fred Jones, would write about Elroy's adventures in Neverland, much to her brother's delight.

Captain Dastardly and Muttley both retired from piracy.

At first, they searched for a place to stay since they had no home and no ship. But they finally decided to settle in with Rapunzel and the children.

Dastardly became a father figure to Daphne and Elroy, though they knew he could not replace their father.

With Muttley by his side, Dastardly wasn't alone. With Flynn no longer being a thorn in his side, he could live peacefully. Even though Muttley would rather to go back to pirating, he was happy to be a normal dog again and to remain by his master's side until the very end.

Flynn would visit the family, though he would still be wary given Rapunzel grew up and Daphne wanted to focus on school. Twilight would accompany him as well on less stressful duties as queen and when the visit was over, they would take off to the second star to the right and straight on till morning!

All in all, everyone lived happily ever after.

The End
