Sonic turned into ball and slammed himself into Shield.

Shield swinged her sword towards Sonic. Sonic dodged it and only small amount of his quills got hit by the blade. Sonic said in his mind:" Wow! She's fast!" Shield then slammed herself into Sonic, sending him flying into the tree. Then Shield slammed her shield to Sonic's chest. Sonic yelped from pain. And held his eyes closed. Shield asked:" What? The great hero of Mobius couldn't defeat one knighter? Pathetic!" Sonic opened his eyes and said:" Trust me, i'm usually faster." Shield took her sword with her hand and said:" King ordered to get you, dead or alive. I have other things than just deal with you so i rather bring your corpse to the king." Sonic closed his eyes again and said:" Do your worst." Shield was about stab him when a arrow hit Shield's right shoulder and she dropped her shield and sword.

Chase was there. Chase walked between Sonic and Shield, while aiming her bow and arrow towards Shield. Sonic slid down from the tree and covered his injury with his hand.

Chase took her mechanical stick and blocked Shield's blows. Then she made her stumble with her leg. Shield fell head first into Chase's stick and Chase pushed her away from herself. Shield rose up and said:" You made your first mistake, princess." Chase helped Sonic up and ran away with him. Shield started to follow them.

Chase cursed under her breath as she threw Sonic into the village. Sonic almost lost balance. Sonic faced her and asked:" What?" Chase said:" You gave our location to knighter! You were out of the village without telling anyone! You are injured and you're just act so carelessly. I saved your sorry tail back there. Be more respectul towards me. Got it?" Sonic said:" So what? I saved the whole Mobius more than once." Chase said:" So that's it? You're suddenly hero? You weren't here when we needed you. Now the king is unstoppable. And you know why? One of the most dangerousest knighters are around here because you showed her yourself. Resistance could be done for." Then she turned to the random civilian and said:" Gather up everyone. We're not safe anymore. Tell them to bring only important things." Citizen nodded and ran into deeper village. Chase followed him, leaving Sonic alone. Sonic looked after her with sadden expression.

Shield waited in the shadows and called other knighters. "I found the whole resistance village," she said:" But hurry up. They are ready to leave soon." Then she ended her call. It's when she noticed red chaos emerald front of her.

Shield slammed Sonic with her shield so hard that the chaos emerald fell on the ground.

Shield said:" What we have here! A chaos emerald. I better bring this to king after we captured them."

Sonic sighed, sit down and scratched his head, trying to think about how to talk to Chase. But then he noticed something. "Chaos emerald!" he shouted and jumped up. He cursed under his breath and started to walk towards the place Chase saved him. At the last second he overthought his plan. Sonic said:" Shield is out there. She almost crushed me. I'm not capable to protect myself from her. I... i'm not capable. Like...No! Don't think about this! I will come through this. I'm Sonic the Hedgehog. What problems i haven't able to solve?"

Then he sensed a arrow coming his way. Sonic jumped out of the way. He noticed that this is knighter arrow! Sonic shouted:" They're here!" The citizens near him stopped what they were doing and ran away from there. Sonic said quietly:" I need to keep them from harming anyone." He took out the laser gun and ran towards the knighters.

Chase helped the paralized cat from his home when Megan said:" Knighters are here." Chase looked around and and asked:" Where's Sonic?" Megan said:" I don't know. But he was the one who spotted the knighters." Chase said:" Knowing him...oh no...Roy! Go help Sonic!" Roy was arguing with old man when Chase said that. Roy then walked away from the man and said:" Mister doesn't want to leave this village." Then he slammed round object to the ground, making pinkish dust.

Sonic was shooting some knighters. Sonic said to himself:" I never thought that using guns are so cool!" Then a knighter behind him got injured and fell down. Sonic noticed it and saw Roy next to him. Roy asked:" Need a hand?" Sonic said:" I'm always open to helping hands." Roy said:" Great! Now, duck!" Sonic was about to ask why but then Roy fired the laser towards him! Sonic jumped out of the way, landing on his stomach. The knighters exploded in Sonic's place where he just was. Sonic turned himself to his back and winced. The jump did little harm to Sonic.

Roy ran next to Sonic, who was in ball. Roy asked:" Are you alright?" Sonic said:" My wound! I maybe reopened it." Roy kneed and took Sonic's hands away from Sonic's chests and gasped when he saw blood coming out of the bandage. Roy said:" Don't worry! I'll help you!" Sonic said:" No. Find Tails and take him with you to the resistance. And please, take care of Amy. And one more thing, say to Knuckles that i'm sorry that i lost chaos emerald. Now we all could be in danger." Roy said:" You can do those things on your own." Sonic shook his head and said:" I'll keep them away from the village. They are after me anyway. Please, Roy." Roy shook his head and said:" I won't leave you. If we get away, then we get away with you." He made Sonic lean into his side and said:" Never leave a friend behind." Then he made the same pink dust appear.

Tails asked Knuckles:" Do you think we should look for Sonic?" Knuckles nodded and said:" I'm getting worried myself." Tails said to girls:" Me and Knuckles are going to search for Sonic. Be careful, you two." Amy asked:" Why we can't come along?" Tails said:" There are two seats in Tornado. Sonic is usually on the wing. And i don't want that Laura is alone here. What if knighters see her?" Amy sighed and said:" Alright then."

Soon Tails and Knuckles were flying on Tornado 2. Knuckles suddenly said:" Can you land?" Tails asked:" Why?" Knuckles pointed to armored creature and said:" It has a chaos emerald." Tails said:" I can't land Tornado 2 but i can put it in autopilot. I will help you get the emerald from them."

Knuckles and Tails jumped from the plane. Knuckles landed front of Shield and Tails behind her. Knuckles said:" Give the chaos emerald to me, lady." Shield said:" Finally some action. But one problem. I'm no lady." She then threw mud into Knuckles' face and turned to Tails, who was hovering and tried to hit her with his tails. Shield grabbed Tails' tails and threw him at Knuckles. Then Shield went closer to Tails and grabbed Tails' tails again. Knuckles stood up and heard Tails'scream. Knuckles turned to them and gasped. Shield has broken Tails' tails! Shield stepped away from the two as Knuckles ran beside Tails who did his best to no cry. Knuckles said to him:" Everything will be alright. I'll find somebody who could help you." Then he turned to Shield and said:" You went too far." Shield asked:" Really? Taking away my oponents' weapons are going too far?" Knuckles said:" You like to play dirty. Now there's no more of mister nice echidna." Knuckles took the rock and threw it at Shield. She dodged it but Knuckles punched her face and started to punch her all around.

Suddenly the helmet flew off. Knuckles stopped what he was doing and only hold her in his hand. Under the helmet was gray cat. Knuckles released her and asked:" You're a mobian like us?" Shield looked at him and said:" We all are. We are not machines like most of you think." Knuckles took the rope and tied her up. Tails was able to stood up and asked her:" Where's Sonic?" Shield looked away from them and said:" I won't say anything to you or your red friend. All i will say is that your friend is bleeding out slowly. It deserves him right. He was the one who jumped into that spear anyway." Tails asked:" Wait what?" Knuckles shook his head and said:" Sonic knows what he's doing. But why did he did it?" Tails asked:" Where is he?" Shield said:" I already said i won't talk." Knuckles said:" I have an idea." He took Shield's shield and continued:" If we won't get anything from her then we'll need to ask that from other knighters." Tails nodded.

Megan was putting her medical tools away in the trailer when Roy ran there with Sonic. Sonic was looking like he was about to collapse. Megan shouted:" Oh no! What happened?" Roy said:" His wound reopened." Megan said:" I knew that will happen. Alright, Roy, he has lost so much blood. It's not safe to make him sleepy for the stitches." Roy put Sonic on the bed. Sonic took Roy's hand and said:" Please find Tails and other friends of mine."

Then they heard a plane flying overhead. Sonic recognized the engine sound and shouted:" Tornado 2! Roy, follow the plane! It's my friend's plane." Roy nodded and ran out.

Roy followed the plane as Tornado 2 landed on the ground. Roy jumped near the cockpit and was confusied. There was no pilot. Roy sighed and jumped down. Sonic could be disappointed. Suddenly he heard two mobians walking near him. No. One mobian and one knighter. Roy took his gun and turned around. He found himself aiming at red echidna with bronze armor. Knuckles said:" Careful!" Roy sighed from relief and put the gun away. "Sorry," he said. Knuckles took a step back and said:" No problem. Who are you?" Roy said:" I'm Roy. Are you Knuckles and Tails?" Tails asked:" You heard about us?" Roy said:" Sonic talks about you two almost all of the time." Knuckles asked:" Do you know where's Sonic?" Roy looked around and whispered:" I'll show you two the way. Follow me but only one contition." Tails asked:" What contition?" Roy answered, while speaking up:" Tell me right away if you see knighters around." Knuckles and Tails nodded and Roy showed them the way.

Roy asked Knuckles:" Why are you wearing the armor?" Knuckles explained:" To fit in." Roy laughed and said:" You have Shield's armor. She is the smallest but loyalest of the knighters. And she always plays dirty. Blink and she'll bring you down with her speed. Only one who could win her is our second command, Chase." Knuckles said:" She wasn't big of the deal. Well, it's true that she broke Tails tails but it's about it." Roy said:" Then she thought that through. Our defence have captured her before but... nothing was left of them after some time. I warn you. Shield is very dangerous." Knuckles said:" Whatever! She's just a cat under her armor."

Shield broke free and now bowed front of the king. King asked:" What happened to your armor?" Shield said:" It was just my plan, sir. I installed tracking device on my armor. And i still have this." She held chaos emerald. King walked closer to her and took it. He said:" I always know that you will never fail me, my loyal knight." Shield nodded and said:" But what if we won't attack now? Villagers are fleed from the village, looking for new place. We will attack only if they bring their guard down." King asked:" Hedgehog?" Shield answered:" No need to worry. He is weak. He wasn't able to even make a scratch on my armor." King turned to his throne and said:" Good. Now, you're dismissed. Have a new armor." Shield bowed again and left. She had evil smirk on her face.
Behind the throne were pictures of the other chaos emerald protectors. King said:" If the story is true then it's prevented from happening. This chaos emerald protector won't defeat me or my knights."
The chaos emeralds' shine started to fade from it.
