Chapter 1

After a few moments of awkward silence, Lune snapped out of his dazed state.

"My bad. I was thinking about some things." He answered awkwardly, but the boy still has a pleasant smile.

"It's alright, sir." The boy reassures. "Are you perhaps a foreigner, since your clothes look... strange?"

"Yeah. You could say that. Anyway, my name is Lune Haske."

"I'm Tanjiro Kamado. Nice to meet you." He introduces himself. "What are you doing out here alone?"

Lune was about to lie, but he stopped himself since he knows about Tanjiro's smelling ability.

"While I would like to tell you the story, but don't you have something to do, judging by a basket full of charcoal," Lune said as he pointed at the basket.

"Oh yeah! I need to sell them to the nearby village. Do you like to come along?"

"Hmmm...sure. It's not like I have anywhere to go anyway." Lune replied as the duo walked towards the village.

Inside of the barely lit room at a local inn from the village. Lune was sitting in the lotus position on the futon; he was staring at the lone window, viewing the night sky with the full moon barely visible. He was in deep thought as he went over the events that happened hours ago.

In summary, he helped out Tanjiro with his charcoal selling, much to the former's insistence. At the end of the day, they go separate ways. Also, upon finding out that Lune doesn't have any money, Tanjiro donated his. He at first refuses it but relents. With the money, he bought a meal from a local restaurant and booked a room to sleep for the night. His face has a neutral expression with a hint of frown within.

"What a day." He sighed as he took the device out of his pocket.

'I wonder what my family thinks right at this moment? For me to disappear all of the sudden, without warning or saying anything.' He looks down at the device. 'On top of all that, now I'm actually at the Demon Slayer universe. I don't know if I should be happy for being here at one of my favorite series, mad for potentially not seeing my friends and family ever again, or terrified that in this very universe, demons existed. If I rank myself among the beings in this world; I'm fucked.' He looks up at the moon once again. 'I definitely need to become a demon slayer to defeat Michael Jackson. As for how I'm going to find a teacher for it to happen, that's a thought for another day.' He ended his thoughts by looking down at the device and turning it on. He spends the rest of the night watching YouTube videos before falling asleep.

The evening of the next day. Lune spent his day wandering through the countryside of Japan; walking through a linear dirt path with rice fields on either side. The weather is warm and sunny in contrast to the cold and snowy. Wearing the same outfit from the previous day, except his hoodie is tied to his waist, revealing his plain white t-shirt.

"Thank god I got out of this hellhole," Lune said to himself as he looked to the side to see the sun was going down. "I need to find a shelter soon, or else I'll be demon's dinner."

He entered the deep forest as nighttime approached. As he continued looking around, then he spotted something from the distance. He leaned closer, squinting his eyes, then suddenly widens as he found a cave.

"Yes! Shelter!" Lune celebrated as he trod through the land of thick pine trees. Eventually, he reached the cave he stared into a hole of pitch darkness. He barely walked inside before sitting towards the rocky wall, leaning against it. He stared at the wall with a dazed look. The whole area was dead silent, the only source of sound is his own breathing.

However, for unknown reasons, he begins to have chills running throughout his body; feeling like somebody is watching him. He looked to the right of him, his vision still sees nothing. As he is about to turn his head, he spots something very peculiar; with closer inspection, he sees the orange glow. His heart stopped as his mind went through different possibilities, but there was one conclusion that he hoped wasn't the case,

Demons.

He got up and slowly walked towards the light. He heard a raspy voice that caused him to stop completely in his tracks.

"Is this my lucky night? My meal has come to me."

A sudden blur tackled him to the chest; knocking him back. The momentum impacts the rocky wall, leaving him breathless. He fell to the ground, slowly regaining oxygen. The demon is in front of him, revealing himself.

"Are you perhaps a foreigner?"

"What if I am?" Lune retorts.

"Hehehe... It wouldn't matter either way since you're going to die in the next few seconds." The demon said as he raises his claws. For a split second, Lune threw a pile of sand into the demon's eyes.

"Augh! You son of a..." He startled before being kicked back, creating enough distance for Lune to escape out of the cave.

I have so many thoughts that I wanted to express, but the only thing in my mind right now - is to survive. I weaved through many trees; I didn't care which direction I was going, All I'm thinking about is escaping from him. But, it didn't matter as I slightly turned my head, the demon was already catching up to me at neck-breaking speed.

I make sharp turns, hoping for a better chance to get away, but it was all futile since he was getting closer every second. It didn't help that my body is already slowing down due to the strain of running. I begin to breathe heavily; now I deeply regret not exercising constantly.

I am trying to push my body to its absolute limit, hoping in vain to speed up; no matter how hard I tried, it wouldn't budge. I feel like I'm about to pass out from sheer exhaustion. I turned once again to see the demon getting closer, almost practically reaching me.

There is a sense of hopelessness clouded over me. There's no point to continue this cat and mouse game. So, with that in mind, I closed my eyes awaiting my fate...

...

...

...

No.

...

...

...

I refuse.

...

...

...

I refuse to...

...

...

...

I see a vision of silhouettes of my family and friends with my mother in front of me, holding her arms out for embrace.

...

...

...

I REFUSE TO DIE!

My eyes are wide open. All of my emotions of fears and doubts disappeared, making me more focused. Also, is it me or am I suddenly going faster? Even to the point of out speeding the demon. I turned into the same path I walked on earlier. I kept running nonstop, checking behind me, I didn't see the demon anymore, which is a good sign. Eventually, after a few minutes, my exhaustion finally catches up to me. I stopped, leaning over the tree, catching my breath.

As I tried to stand up straight; I felt a sudden sharp pain in the chest.

The next thing I knew, I flew back, colliding with the tree. My breath was gone for the moment before coughing up blood. I could feel my broken ribcage, it was not pleasant.

I looked ahead to see that the same demon with an amused expression has caught up to me. I knew I was fucked since I couldn't move a limb.

"Well. Well. Looks like your luck has run its course. I don't know what you just did earlier, but it doesn't concern me." He said as he approached closer and closer until the demon freezes in place. The next thing that shocks me was that his head fell down, causing the demon to burn to ash. Once the demon completely disappears, I saw a blonde-haired man with red tips. My heart pounds in excitement to meet one of my favorite characters in the series,

Rengoku.

A/N: That's it for this chapter. This took a longer time to come out than I wanted it to. Hopefully I'll release chapter two sooner, but no promises. Anyway can anyone guess what ability Lune tapped into? Hint: It's from a popular Shonen anime.

I hope you enjoy this chapter and see you next time.

Taisho Era Secrets: Lune's favorite video game console is the SNES.

P.S. Beta is needed. If you're interested then private message me.
