Day 7: Pink: Friendship, affection, harmony, femininity, youth, playfulness
Summary: Zoey and Gwen are going mini-golfing and invite Brick, who immediately drags Jo along with him so he doesn't feel like a third wheel.
Brick and Jo were currently in a car together with Brick driving of course given Jo is known to be a bit reckless on the road, you see they were heading to a mini-golf field to meet Gwen and Zoey there, who were in a relationship which kinda surprised Brick given they dated guys in the past but he didn't judge.
The two had originally only invited Brick to the event but he asked if he could bring Jo, which they said yes to, given Jo's learnt to be more mellow over the years.
It took a bit of pleading to get Jo to show up but she agreed to go, mostly because she loved competing even if it was for in her words: something as easy as mini-golf. Brick was relieved because he didn't want to be a third wheel.
Jo then decided to strike up conversation with Brick, "So Brick for brains, how come you decided to bring me with you to this, I mean you seemed very determined to get me here."
"Well… I figured you needed to be a bit more social." Brick lied nervously.
"Uh huh. If you insist." Jo rolled her eyes.
Brick knew from that time that Jo didn't believe him, but she probably didn't want to get into it while they're on the road, probably a smart move.
Soon they made it to the mini-golf field, and then they met up with Gwen and Zoey at the entrance who seemed to be in a conversation, staring deep into each other's eyes.
While Brick did consider himself a tough guy, his heart did melt at romance.
"Hey Red and Gothball." Jo said, yelling a bit, Brick was right next to him so he covered his ears in surprise. He couldn't really blame the Jockette though, the two seemed to be lost in each other's love.
"Oh hey guys." Zoey said with an embarrassed blush, "We didn't notice you show up."
"That's understandable, you seemed to be busy conversing." Brick said in understanding, "So, shall we get started."
"Yeah, let's get ready to check in." Gwen smiled as she took her wallet out of her pocket.
After they checked in, they each got a ball, Zoey got a red one, Gwen got midnight blue, Brick got dark green, and Jo just got white because she didn't really care.
The game seemed to be going smoothly, although Zoey and Gwen both playfully flirted a bit which was weirding Jo out a lot especially since Gwen of all people was acting affectionate though she did notice that Brick was distancing himself a bit between Zoey and Gwen whenever the two were together.
At one point Jo accidentally swung her club too hard and the ball bounced off the course and landed in the water.
"I'll never understand why these things have lakes here." Jo rolled her eyes.
"I think the lakes were there from the start Jo." Gwen smirked.
"Whatever Gwen, I'll go get a new ball. You guys stay here." Jo said before walking off, leaving Brick alone with Gwen and Zoey.
Soon Brick felt his phone buzz, so he decided to take a look at it, it was a text from Jo.
It read: "I know why you brought me here. Just confess what's bothering you to Gwen and Zoey. They're sickeningly sweet enough to understand."
"Who was that from?" Zoey asked curiously to Brick.
"It was from Jo," He decided to confess, "She told me to tell you what was bugging me and I decided to do so."
"Yeah, I did see you a bit upset but I figured you'd tell us yourself eventually." Gwen said.
"Look, I felt that I would probably end up being a third wheel between you girls. Naturally this isn't your fault but since you've been together you've been closer than ever." Brick explained.
"Aw Brick." Zoey began hugging the cadet, "We're so sorry we made you feel that way."
"Yeah, we've just started dating and we're so happy that we didn't think about your feelings." Gwen said sadly.
"It's okay Gwen and Zoey, I understand your reasoning. I'm just glad we understand each other now." Brick smiled.
"Yeah, thanks for telling us this. We'll try to be more inclusive to others instead of staying in our love bubble." Zoey promised.
"Totally." Gwen nodded.
"Finally, now can we continue the game?" Jo's voice piped up from behind Brick who smiled at the Jockette.
"Yes. Yes we can." Brick nodded, "Also thank you for encouraging me to confess what was ailing me."
"Meh. I just didn't wanna watch you mope. Too awkward." Jo shrugged.
Brick knew she was lying and that she truly did care, and he figured Jo knew that too.
