Day 8: Orange: Enthusiasm, creativity, determination, energy, confidence
Summary: Owen was so excited, Noah would be home any minute and he would be able to surprise him.
Author's Note: Time to focus on a dynamic duo, I imagine Owen would go above and beyond for Noah so I made this.
Owen was so excited, it was his birthday and he was ready to surprise him with a surprise party with him and all his friends, even if Owen was being honest, getting his friends over to the apartment he and Noah shared wasn't that hard as Noah didn't have many friends from Total Drama.
Not to say Noah didn't have friends at all though, he was able to get Eva, Izzy, Emma(his girlfriend), Kitty, and even Gwen and Cody to join the party.
The last two would be a bit surprising but Noah actually had offscreen interactions with Cody off camera and Noah and Gwen had recently connected after The Ridonculous Race. Currently Noah was getting groceries which gave Owen the all clear to get ready for the party.
"Eva, Izzy, did you guys finish setting up the decorations?" Owen asked happily to find that Eva was covered in jelly while Izzy was humming, placing streamers on the walls.
"Uh Eva why do you have…" Owen began asking.
"Izzy had the brilliant idea to put exploding jelly in the balloons." Eva rolled her eyes.
"Indeed, I may or may not have put some surprises in the balloons. Hehehe." Izzy snickered.
"Are they harmful?" Owen asked in worry.
"Nah. They're harmless." Izzy smiled, "You might have to shower once the contents get all over you."
"Guess I'll have to warn Noah about that then." Owen shrugged, Izzy may be a good friend, but her antics can mess things up, fortunately it was an easy fix.
"Good job on the decorations though. Noah will love it, also I'm glad you decided to join us Eva." Owen smiled.
"Noah's a good friend of mine. Plus he does help me with my anger issues, I might as well show up to the party and also keep Izzy in check." Eva said.
"Fair enough." Owen giggled, before he got a text on his phone, "Oh that's Kitty! She and Emma must be back with the cake!"
Owen soon enthusiastically opened the door to find Emma struggling to lift the container the cake was in.
Owen soon looked at the strawberry cake in the see-through container and was in awe, "Wow! That looks amazing!"
"Yeah, you can drool later. Can I just get my boyfriend's cake on the table already?" Emma said bitterly.
"Oh sorry, I was just happy they got the flavor right. Noah does like strawberries." Owen stepped out of Emma's way as Kitty helped her sister carry the cake to the table.
Once the cake was at the table, Kitty and Emma sighed in relief.
"Great job on planning the party Owen." Kitty complimented, "Noah's gonna be so happy to see how much care was put into this."
"I never really took Noah for much of a party person though." Emma admitted.
"He likes parties from time to time, I was able to drag him over to Geoff's Total Drama reunion party and he had the time of his life." Owen said with a beaming smile.
"It's true, It's the happiest I've ever seen him." Gwen smirked as she walked over to the group.
"I'm just surprised Owen has so much self control. I saw episode ten of Island and he ate the team's entire plate of ribs." Kitty said with some shock but pride.
"It's Noah's birthday, I can't ruin his special day." Owen explained.
"Aw that's really sweet." Emma smiled but frowned once she turned to her right, "Though it's not stopping a certain other sugar-holic."
Owen, Kitty, and Gwen turned to see Cody opening the lid to the container holding the cake, he chuckled nervously as he smiled sheepishly.
"What the heck do you think your doing?! That cake is not supposed to be eaten until Noah arrives." Emma glared at Cody.
"I was only gonna lick the frosting to see if it tasted good." Cody said nervously.
"Please, I've seen you on World Tour." Emma said firmly, "You're obsessed with sugar. Just stay away from the cake."
"Okay geez." Cody backed away fearfully before he stood next to Gwen.
"She reminds me of Courtney sometimes." Cody whispered to the goth.
"Hey hey guys. Let's all settle down, it's Noah's birthday so let's all just act nice and…" Owen spoke before he heard a knock on the door.
"He's coming, hide!" Owen said in a hushed tone and soon all six of Noah's friends retreated to their hiding spots.
Owen smiled giddily as he opened the door for Noah.
"Hey buddy." Owen smiled giddily at Noah as he let his smaller friend inside as he carried some groceries to help Noah lighten the load.
"Hey Owen. Man, it kinda stinks to be shopping on my birthday but it was my turn." Noah said.
Owen did feel bad for doing that but he felt what was about to happen would all be worth it.
"We'll Noah, I'm glad you went shopping because…" Owen smiled as they walked in the kitchen when he turned on the lights and soon Emma, Kitty, Eva, Izzy, Gwen, and Cody all popped out of their hiding spots.
"Surprise!" Everyone including Owen said happily to Noah, and Owen saw a rare look of surprise on the bookworm's face.
"I sent you out shopping to get everyone here ready for the party. We even got strawberry cake for you. D-Do you like it?" Owen explained.
To his surprise Noah hugged him which surprised Owen.
"No one's ever put this much effort for my birthday before not even my parents. Thank you Owen." Noah smiled softly.
Owen hugged him back, softly of course, he was glad to have given his buddy a happy birthday.
