I want to clarify that I'm not making Jaune emo or going after his friends and all that nonsense. The last chapter got half of you guys confused on Jaune's change of attitude, how it came out of nowhere and felt forced. I agree that whatever I did with Jaune in the last chapter was completely uncalled for and he has no reasons for lashing like that, but at the same time I want to get the whole Beacon arc and done with.
I want Jaune to gain confidence and slowly becoming a Necromancer and I can't do that while he's still in Beacon, so while I destroyed his dream on becoming a Huntsmen, it is necessary for him not being tied down with Ozpin breathing down his neck, all the time.
If you haven't noticed or didn't care, I'm not following the main canon of the show, there might be some down the line, but this is completely its own thing. So for those of you who came to read this story mainly for the plot, I'm sorry to disappoint you.
I'm mainly going to focus a lot with Jaune, since he is the main character in this story after all, but somewhere in the story I'll focus on the other characters such as Karen, who is going to accompany Jaune's journey. Team RWBY and _NPR, will have less screen time unless one of them Jaune will eventually meet again, mainly the one with a black bow on her head.
So in short, I want to get the boring dramas out of the way and get to the good stuff, unrealistic I know, but also necessary at the same time!
Karen stares at Jaune across the nearby trees in Forever Fall, this place seems to be a perfect spot for her Necromancer continuing practicing his magic, she marveled at these wonderful forests and red-leafed trees. This mountainous area has many cliffs and is covered by a forest of red-leafed trees, allowing the whole area to appear as a dust-red color, even with the grass.
She admires Jaune's dedication and determination in getting stronger, but she's worried that Jaune is overworking himself. He's still fairly new using magic and if he keeps this up, there's a possibility he'll die due to exhaustion. She needs to write down his training schedule when Jaune can continue his training, but for now she'll stay quiet and watch her Necromancer continue practicing his magic.
Jaune yells as both his hands glowed once again as dark energy blasts sped towards one of the rock boulders, before he points his index and middle fingers in a finger gun pose and fires a short barrage of dark energy blasts at the nearby trees, as eight shots hit the tree barks, leaving noticeable big holes in its wake.
He continues his finger guns as more short barrages of dark energy blasts hitting more trees, he went left and right not even caring where he's aiming, as one of his shots almost hit Karen where she stood, she pouts but forgives Jaune for nearly hitting her.
Jaune delivers his final energy blasts towards the mountains, causing huge ruckus and earthquakes throughout Remnant, it was loud and powerful, thankfully Karen set up a noise barrier all over Forever Fall. The people will feel the quakes but won't think too much about it, the world is filled with creatures of the night, military, and flying machines... It was normal.
Besides magic that is...
"Good job out there, Jaune," Karen comes over to her Necromancer and hands him a wet towel, "Only your second day of using magic, and you're already a pro at it."
"I don't know, I still have a lot to learn by using magic." Jaune sat down as he summons a water bottle from thin air, one of the best benefits of having magic is you can summon your items in the air, weapons, armors, food, or anything really.
He took a sip of his water and dose the entire container on his hair, as Jaune quickly dried himself with the towel, he looked to his right and saw Karen in deep thoughts on something.
"Is there something wrong, Karen?" He said to her
"No, I was just thinking about something, don't worry about it, Jaune." Karen snaps back to reality and assures Jaune she was fine
Jaune was unconvinced but didn't pressure it, whatever Karen was thinking he shouldn't force her to tell him, they only been together for two days since he left Beacon, but he was glad for her company and staying with him.
"Have you seen anything out of the ordinary in the area lately?" Jaune asked her
"I have spotted large hordes of Grimm coming into Emerald Forest, I also saw several mysterious cages bearing a strange logo with the "M" on it." Karen informs Jaune all that she knows in the area.
"Why Emerald Forest and not Forever Fall?" Jaune was confused and wondered why Karen mentioned Emerald Forest.
"I don't know, it seems something is happening in Emerald Forest, I can't use my magic to further analyze the situation if I overused my magic." Karen said
Jaune shook his head, "No, it's okay. I appreciate your help, Karen," He smiles at her, Karen smiles back at him, "Though, the hordes of Grimm seem troubling, Emerald Forest is close to where Beacon is, and I don't want to endanger the students on having to fight against an army like that."
Jaune walks over towards the edge of the mountain, "This is a perfect opportunity for me to test my new powers, Karen, send me to Emerald Forest."
Karen flew towards Jaune with arms crossed, "Do you require my aid against the hordes?"
"No. In order for me to become a better Necromancer, I need to learn how to fight like one," Jaune rejects Karen's help, "You've done enough on helping me, Karen, and I need to prove to you that I am a worthy summoner of your attention."
"Idiot... you're already worthy of my attention..." Karen's thoughts echo in her mind.
"Fine, I'll teleport you to the closest spot I can find in Emerald Forest, after that you're on your own." Karen gives a small pout before she casts a purple portal besides Jaune.
"Don't worry about me, Karen," Jaune walks over to the portal while keeping his smile, "I'm tougher than I look." He gives her a nod before walking inside the portal, leaving Karen alone atop of Forever Fall.
Karen frowned before casting a spell and returning to the Demon Realm, she ignored her supervisor and generals and sat on her throne, she cast a spell to see through Jaune's eyes. Her necromancer isn't getting rid of her easily, if she can't be with him at all times, then she'll at least watch over him if he struggles against the hordes, it proves to be too much for him she'll jump in and save him.
Karen used to have many necromancers before Jaune, though none of them caught her attention besides that boy, what makes him different from his predecessors? Could it be his strong sense of justice? Or could he possibly have hidden potential that she hadn't realized yet.
Regardless, Jaune Arc was a strange necromancer, and he belongs to her. That's right, a hidden rune was placed on the mask, whoever wears the cursed mask is enslaved by yours truly. If a necromancer dies, their souls are to be sent to the Demon Realm to help fuel her demonic army, though she shed tears on what would happen if Jaune died. She'll do anything possible to keep her summoner alive, as long as it takes.
"You seem to leave the Demon Realm quite a lot lately, my ladyship." A demon maid who was cleaning dust out of Karen's throne. She was dressed in black maid uniform, long black hair, black horns, blue skin, and giving her ladyship a shit-eating grin on her face.
"My summoner requires a lot from me, Nicole, I don't mind leaving the Underworld for a while and staying with him." Karen replied while glaring at her maid/friend.
Normally, a Demon Lord shouldn't speak to lesser demons unless it was for a mission, though Nicole was different since the two of them are childhood friends. Nicole's parents were generals that used to serve the former King of the Demon Realm, now they retired from their services and lived in a quiet town near the castle, Nicole was granted permission by Karen to become her personal maid. She accepted since Karen was bored and needed a close friend to talk to.
"When will I meet this Necromancer, Karen?" Nicole said to Karen
Karen narrowed her eyes at Nicole, "Why do you want to meet him, Nicole?"
Nicole gives a shrug, "Why not? I mean this human seems to be all you care about lately, and I must thank him for keeping you entertained after the last five decades."
"If by Thank him, You mean offering your services to him as his stress relief?" Karen knows this all too well from Nicole, her last summoner asked Nicole for... services for his needs, and Nicole left him dry, he died from fatigue.
Nicole cups her mouth and chuckles, "I remember that one, My, it has been quite a while since I served a human, I wouldn't mind doing it again with your new summoner."
"Forget it, Nicole, Jaune isn't the type who ogles girls for a living. He seems dense and wouldn't understand what you're trying to do to him." Karen huffs at her friend.
"Oh? He's dense you say? Well... then I supposed I can teach him things he hadn't experienced yet," Nicole's grin widens, "Oh, the things I would do to him..."
"Enough! Quit being scary and keep those lewd thoughts in your head, If anyone is going to have his first time, it would be me!"
"Hmm? Didn't you only know him two days ago? Isn't this too sudden even for you?" Nicole tilted her head to the side, before her grin came back to her face, "And I thought I was the naughty between the two of us."
"NICOLE!?" Karen now red-faced and dumbfounded by her friend's antics, as the two of them were having their talk and talking more and more about Jaune.
As for the man of the hour himself, came face to face with hordes of Beowolf, Boarbatusk, and Ursa. And they all have green colors all over their bodies. Along with the flying green Nevermore that roars at him.
Few Minutes Earlier...
"Hmm... I don't recognize this area during the initiation." Jaune looks around his surroundings in Emerald Forest. The area was mostly grounds and dirt, there were few skirmishes of Grimm here and there, but he quickly dealt with them using his sword and moved on, not worth wasting his magic on the lesser ones.
But as he progressed in the forests he encountered a cave, it was dark and the light source was the blue dust crystals that somehow lightened the whole room. Then he realized that this cave is connected to the security network for Beacon Academy, so he walked over to the network control to get a better look. There was something attached to the tube, it was shaped with a letter "M" in the middle.
Just then Grimm starts to appear below the cave's grounds, he pulls out his sword and readies himself.
"Okay, let's see what you baddies got." He holds his sword firmly and loosely.
A Beowolf came rushing at him and tried to strike him with its claws, he ducked underneath the beast and headbutted it, the wolf groaning in pain before Jaune finished cutting its head off. More Beowolfs come charging in and Jaune takes this opportunity to use his new spell he tested earlier, his left hand begins to glow blueish-white as he freezes the cave. The beasts were stuck in place as Jaune snapped his left thumb, as the hold that kept the wolves in place shattered into tiny pieces.
Just then more of them show up as they break the ice from underneath the grounds, Jaune sheaths his sword as he conjures more ice in his hands, he takes a deep breath and closes his eyes and this one requires concentration. The Grimm growls and is close approaching the human, as they strike their claws at Jaune, he seemingly dodges the attacks without even looking at them, this leaves the Grimm even more frustrated and angry, as the pack went a new approach and surrounds the human.
Jaune concentrates as the power in his hands is nearly complete, he hadn't had much practice with this one spell, reasons as to why it took this long. He narrowly dodged another attack from a Beowolf, as the ice underneath was slowly melting and was losing ground, but he stayed strong as soon as the Grimm got closer, he opened his eyes as it became surrounded by a fiery glow that matches his eye color.
"Let's see if you can handle this one! Storm of Eternal Damnation!" His eyes turned purple for a second, before a huge portal appeared below the cave's ground, dropping every Grimm into the portal.
Jaune's hands begins to spark, he dive downwards towards the Grimm with his sparky hands, as soon the Grimm were somehow stuck together, Jaune took the opportunity and zig-zag formation into the air, back and forth, before coming above them and finally slamming his second sparks into an Alpha Beowolf, driving them into the ground.
The alpha screams in pain as the sparks were frying him from the inside, not just the alpha but the rest of the Grimm as well, before the portal sends all of them back to the cave. The Grimm begins to dissipate, as Jaune was on his knees but wasn't tired as he should've been, instead he simply gets up with a grin on his face.
"It seems it was a success."
Now that's been over, he turns his attention back to the network control and looks at the "M" logo, come to think of it... where did he see that logo before?
That's it! This is Merlot Industries tech. They were an old research and development corporation that had its primary facility at the ill-fated settlement of Mountain Glenn. But why would Merlot Industries tech be here? Something doesn't seem right.
Once Jaune got closer it seems this tech is gathering information from Beacon Academy, it seems whoever did this is gathering information from Beacon for some reason. Could this be related to the Fall Maiden Ozpin has hidden underneath the vault? It seems likely, but then again why would they be targeting the network controls?
He's got a feeling there's more of this tech here in Emerald Forest, so with caution, he removed Merlot's tech off from the tube. He puts the tech in his dimension inventory to analyze later, he might be able figure out where it came from, and find the person as well.
"You owe me for this one, Oz, because I'm here to clean up your mess. For now." Jaune mutters before exiting out the cave through the other entrance.
"Alright, I should contact Karen about my recent discovery." Jaune was about to use his magic to contact Karen, before he dodged an incoming attack from an unknown source.
He turns to see a Grimm Creep, but... this one is different. These Creeps were larger, glowed with a green color, their eyes, markings and inside of their bodies were green instead of red. Their spikes took on an appearance similar to glowing green crystals. It also looks like it has technology attached to them. Could these be new breeds of Grimm?
"What the?" Jaune stared in shock as he didn't know how to react to these things.
Before he could say anything else however, more of these mutated Grimm had appeared and surrounded him, as he could see mutated Alpha Beowolf, Boarbatusk, and Ursa. He looks around him to see if there's an opening but until he spotted a huge one coming above him, he narrowly dodges to the side and is shocked once more to see a mutated Nevermore.
Jaune was trapped and he doesn't know much spells to get himself out of this one, it seems the only way out for him is to fight, but can he actually hold his own against these monstrosity new breeds? No, they don't seem to be new breeds, but more than likely being made by something... or someone. But that speculation will have to wait, as he has to handle these new types first.
Jaune pulls out his sword from his sheath, his left hand begins to spark once again, as he stares down at the mutated Grimm surrounding him. This is an ultimate test for him, a test to finally cut loose and show his true powers, right here and now.
"You guys are new to me, and I'm ashamed that I haven't introduced myself, not that you guys cared." The Grimm growls at the human, "But I'll just say it anyways, Hi, I'm Jaune Arc, and I'm a new Necromancer-in-training."
"And the last you'll ever see..." His tone changes as his dark blue eyes turn purple, as shadow figures begin to crawl out underneath the grounds, skeletons rise from the grave, and undead soldiers of the Great War have appeared besides the necromancer.
"I hope you guys won't disappoint me too much, it'll be a shame you all perished, before I could've tested out my new powers, but I'm also interested to see my undead followers in action." Jaune turns to his undead followers and while he frowns on using the dead as weapons, it was necessary for him to get rid of his pesky feelings and start acting like a true necromancer.
"Since I'm being a good sport, I'll let my army do the fighting for me." He snaps his fingers as a stone throne was summoned out of thin air, he flew upwards and sat atop of the throne, looking down at the mutated Grimm with disgust on his face. "Servants, finish them in the name of your king."
They yelled in victory as they ran straight towards the mutated Grimm, the green creatures responded in retaliation and rushed towards the undead, all the while Jaune sat his throne with wine in hand. Is he even old enough to drink?
A skeleton warrior sliced off a mutated Beowolf's head off, before it was taken out by another alpha, Skeleton archers readying their bows to shoot down their enemies, as mutated Nevermore saw the bony creatures and grabbed hold of them before throwing them to the distance.
Undead soldiers begin charging the mutated Alpha Ursa with old relics of weapons, the Ursa slashed at the undead over and over, but they kept getting back up to their feet and charged at it again. They are undead so it doesn't matter how many times you kill them, they will always come back.
Emerald Forest is turning into a warzone, and Jaune realizes if this keeps up, Ozpin will call in reinforcements or worse, send Team RWBY and his former teammates to come investigate the chaos happening. So with the final decision, he calls off his army and tells them to back off, he's gonna have to deal with these new breeds personally.
"I was feeling bored watching you mindless creatures fighting each other, so I'll make this quick and go on my merry way." Jaune's hands begin to spark again, but this time the color of the spark is black, meaning right now he isn't fighting as Jaune Arc... he's fighting as a Necromancer.
As thunder begins to pour above the darkened skies, clouds sweeping in with lightning noises, Jaune quickly dashed towards all the mutated Grimm with kicks and punches, causing them to land in the middle of the center. He ordered his undead soldiers and skeletons to dogpile them before it was too late, his minions obeyed and dogpile the Grimm, as the creatures of the night struggled to get the undead off of them.
Jaune grins as he raises his right hand upwards towards the clouds, "Begone, when the thunder claps." His hand claps downwards, as the thunder above the Grimm comes crashing down onto the mutated Grimm, along with the undead army but can't feel pain. This move is one of Jaune Arc's trump cards, he still needs practice with the move but once he gains more experience with it, there ain't going to be anything left standing in his way.
Once the clouds disperses and blue skies begin to appear again, Jaune's eyes regain his original color, as Jaune himself holds his head and has a headache. He could barely register what happened before memories quickly flashed back in his mind. He overdone it, but at least it got the job done.
"Okay, Now that whole mess is finally over. I'd better report this to Karen." Jaune concentrates his last remaining magic to call Karen.
"Jaune? How's your first outing as a necromancer doing?" Karen said to him
"It was alright, I almost died for overusing my magic, but I'm still in one piece." He replied while Karen on the other side wasn't amused.
"Alright, Stay where you are, I'm coming over there right now." Karen isn't gonna take a No for an answer, before Jaune could ask, Karen already appears before him.
"Geez... you look like you've been hit by a bulldozer or something." She remarks on Jaune's dirty attire, it seems the heat of the moment his clothes was now covered in dirt.
Jaune shrugs his shoulders, "It's not bad as it looks, I'm still in good shape and not a single Grimm got a single hit on me."
Karen walks over to Jaune and slaps his right cheek, "How about that?"
"Okay... I deserve that one." Jaune covers his cheek which has red marks on it now.
"That's what happens when you make me worried, I thought I was going to lose you." Karen huffs to the other side and crosses her arms.
"I-i'm sorry?" Jaune didn't know what else to say.
"Sorry isn't good enough, I want a composition from you, my Necromancer."
"What is it?" He felt sweat appearing on his neck, whatever Karen is thinking can't be good for him.
"A favor. Anytime, anyplace, anywhere, I'll cash in that favor as I see fit." Karen pumps her chests with a smug look on her face.
Jaune raises an eyebrow but shrugs, he knows better than to argue with Karen when she gets like this, "Alright, I guess I owe you a favor."
"You damn right you do," Karen walks over to him and gives him a surprising hug, "Making me worried for you like this."
Jaune looks down at Karen with a warm smile on his face, he wraps his arms around Karen hugging her back, "Alright, I'll try to be careful from now on."
"Hmpth, you better..."
Abandoned Vale Military Base
Somewhere far away from Vale, there was an abandoned military base stationed between Vale and Mountain Glenn. Inside the base was a big computer monitor that was still working, along with other small monitors which had files and information in each and every of them.
Jaune types something onto the big computer in the room, this base was formerly owned by Atlas, but for whatever reasons they pulled out of Vale due to Ozpin wanting their presence gone and not scaring the locals. James Ironwood disagrees as this would help the relations between Vale and Atlas further, eventually Ironwood and his forces quietly leave, leaving behind stuff that weren't important to them it seems.
Well, he has to at least thank them for the working computers, as he now has access to all of their personal data and files in this base, most of it was junk and paperwork, but the only value this place left caught his attention was the schematics.
This facility housed several schematics that were supposed to be used to upgrade the armors worn by the soldiers, the designs and details seems advanced and register as Atlas Mark V Armor. It was meant to withstand damages and true bulletproof armor, fire resistance, frost resistance, increase strength, increase speed, increase mobility, and advanced targeting system. The cost and supplies for the armor was high-demand from Atlas Councils, however, since Atlas personal was heavily-tired, drained, and lack of supplies and dust for the armor, it was left behind and forgotten in this facility.
Next is the weapon schematics, it seems Atlas was testing new products of swords, handguns, and assault rifles. Most of it was garbage information how this firearm could be improved and whatnot, he scrolls down to get to the good stuff, but sadly it seems to be another boring mass production of the same weapons being used by the military.
If he had time he could try his hands on upgrading the weapons to be more useful, to him of course. The Mark V armor could use more improvements and upgrade further, but that'll have to wait, as he was here for a different reason altogether.
"All right, the tech I got from the cave shows that this is indeed Merlot Industries tech, but why was this in the cave to begin with?" Jaune said while looking at the contents of Merlot tech, he removed every bit of the memory cards and components in this thing to further analyze it closely.
"Who was this Merlot, human?" Karen asked Jaune, as she was bored out of her mind being in this place. Seriously, does this place really need all this white?
"Dr. Merlot was CEO of Merlot Industries, His corporations led research into artificial intelligence and genetics. But as for the man himself, he was a genius and gifted scientist, as he started from nothing to something in the end. His research helped build Vale as it is today," Jaune gives a brief history of Merlot to Karen, "You may already know this, but Mountain Grimm was overrun by the Grimm, lots of people died in that cursed place."
"And I assumed that this Merlot character died in Mountain Glenn as well?"
"Dr. Merlot was rumored to have died in Mountain Glenn, though I suspect he's still alive to this day." Jaune begins to stand up and walk over to the command table, the table shows the map of Remnant and all of its continents, kingdoms, and cities.
"This is the place where Mountain Glenn was," He pointed at Mountain Glenn to Karen, "The place is overrun by Grimm and no one besides few Huntsman has venture close to the sight," He then trails to where Merlot Industries was located, "And this spot right here was Merlot Industries tower is located."
"Okay, but how's this related to Merlot?" Karen raises an eyebrow in confusion.
"I'm saying that Merlot could have something in that tower of his last known location," Jaune confirms, "I don't have evidence or know that Merlot is alive, or if someone else is using his tech to get information from Beacon, but I do know this however."
He tossed the tech onto the table, "I found a chip inside the thing, it's encrypted and has a virus in it, I could remove all of the virus and with luck find the location where it comes from."
"But can you? I never thought of you as a scientific type" Karen was amused and didn't know Jaune was this smart, it seems she underestimated him.
"If you were living with seven sisters, you're bound to learn things reluctantly." Jaune shrugs as one of his younger sisters was a computer expert, but he doesn't want to involve her in this mess.
Karen raises another eyebrow, "You have seven sisters?" she asked him.
"Yup. But I don't want to explain the birds and bees right now, maybe in another time." Jaune laughs while scratching the back of his head.
Karen hums before she looks at the chip, "And pray tell how you're going to find the one who put that in that cave to begin with?"
Jaune picks up the chip and waves it in his hands, "I'll figure something out, It might take a week or months even, but there's no need to rush. We can go after Merlot if it is him, anytime we want, Besides I still need to practice my magic and further enhance it."
"All you ever do lately is practicing your magic. Why don't we do something for today?" Karen suggested
"What do you have in mind?"
Karen chuckles before walking over to him and puts his left arm between her breasts, "We go on a date."
"W-wait what!?' Jaune was flabbergasted and didn't know how to respond.
"You need a break from all that training you did two days ago, Let your body rest for today, you'll pick up training again tomorrow, sounds good?"
Jaune tries to ignore the feeling he's been getting from his left arm, the softness and how rounded and big it was, he turns his head to the side to avoid his red-faced. But Karen caught on and smirked and scored a victory over Jaune.
"F-fine... I guess I could use a break." Jaune relented and conceded.
"Great! Let's go to this steakhouse I spotted in Vale yesterday. I think it's open twenty-four seven if I remember correctly. Come on! I haven't eaten a steak in over a decade!" Karen quickly summons a portal and drags Jaune along with her.
Jaune sighs but smiles at Karen, for the supposed Demon Lord she sure doesn't act like it. She gives off a teenager vibe despite being centuries old, it seems time doesn't affect Karen in any capacity. He hoped Karen would never change.
Unbeknownst to them however, a certain witch queen was watching the pairs with her crystal ball, Jaune for the most part as he radiates powerful magic essence.
"Jaune Arc, Soon, our paths will cross. But I need to know, are you a puppet for Ozma, or are you working for yourself in this matter?" Salem kept a close eye on Jaune Arc, he bares the resemblance of her former blond hair color and blue eyes, but she doubts the boy is in any way related to her.
"No matter, When our paths do cross I'll offer you a chance to join, if you refuse however... Well, then I'll send Cinder to deal with you personally."
"It'll be a shame to see the death of another magic user, one that I haven't seen besides Ozma in centuries."
"I'll be keeping a close eye on you, Jaune Arc." Salem grins before leaving the boy to his own devices, it seems her plans will have to start sooner than she originally thought. But it will all be worth it to find that relic along with the Fall Maiden, Ozma has hidden underneath his school.
I'll stop this here for now, I hope you all enjoy this chapter and how things will play out.
If you haven't noticed, Karen is based of Astaroth from Shinza Bansho or Shinrabanshou. A demon general and high ranking demon of the Imperial Demon Clan. I don't know why I chose Astaroth in particular, it's not because of her obvious cannons she has on her chests, but I think her character sorta fits in this story, at least to me.
In this story Karen is a Demon King of the underworld, meaning Demon Realm or Hell for short. It's not all chaos and causing troubles against humans, since I sorta following the whole DxD system, perhaps I'll add Angels, Fallen Angels, and other godly beings in this story if I feel like it. But this story is still fresh and I don't want to overthink it at the moment.
I suck at fighting scenes, so I hope none of you took offense at the quality that's been shown here, although it seems fast paced and quick, you have to understand that I've been under lots of stress lately and it's killing me.
Jaune learned new magics off screen... don't ask me that, just roll with it.
Anyway, I'll say this again and I hope you enjoy chapter 3 of this fic.
Have a great day, and I'll see you later.
Bonus Chapter
Jaune was walking around Beacon wandering aimlessly, he needed a break from his team since Nora is having another episode of her pancakes, he likes his team and will do anything to protect them.
He spotted Team RWBY at the courtyard training it seems, when was the last time he did that with his team? Perhaps he should upped his game and challenge Team RWBY who's the top dog around here.
"Hey, Ruby!" He calls out to Ruby.
"Oh! Hey Jaune, We're kinda busy here at the moment, what is it?" Ruby asked him while almost out of breath.
Jaune grins before coming over to Ruby and them, "Well, I was in the area and saw you guys training, trying to stay at the top food chain and not letting us little guys to the mountain huh?"
"You got that right, Vomit Boy," Yang gave him a cheeky grin, "We're the best team throughout Beacon!"
"What is the meaning of this, Arc? Are you jealous of our team abilities, not that I blame you for that." Weiss smirks at him showing confidence and that.
"I'm here for one thing and one thing only, A challenge."
"Oh? And pray tell what kind of challenge this is~" Yang coming closer to him with arms crossed.
"Next week in Ms. Goodwitch's class, I challenge you four a duel. If you win against my team and I, we'll do your homework for a month." Jaune replied, getting the attention from the girls.
"And if we lose?" Blake asked him
"Then you'll do our homework, and if that isn't enough for you then I'll add this in," He pulls out his credit card, "I hadn't had the chance to use this yet, if I recall the last time I put money I saved in, it was over nine-thousand."
THAT got the girls even more attention then before, "Can you imagine the money you could do with this? Sure, it doesn't compare to Weiss since she is an heiress after all, but money is money. And you could buy anything you want with it, if you win that is."
"We accept!" Ruby immediately accepts his challenge.
"Yeah! I can't wait to use that card for partying!" Yang said
"I suppose I need more books for the room..." Blake mutters.
"Are you serious!? I think this is a trap!" Weiss being the voice of reason and tries to convince her team this a ruse setup from Arc of all people.
"No harm, no foul, Weiss, If you want proof then here it is." Jaune pulls out his scroll and hands it over to Weiss.
The heiress took the scroll from him and searched down on his bank account, and indeed there it was that his bank is actually over nine-thousand...
"See?"
"What do you actually want from us, Arc?" Weiss turns to him with an angry look on her face, "Is this your another attempt at trying to woo me over?"
"Weiss, I got over that a long time ago, I thought we buried the hatchet by now?" Jaune replied with an uncaring tone in his voice, sure Weiss is beautiful and all, but he quickly stops when she chose Neptune over him.
"Anyway! I hope to see you next week, my dear Team RWBY!" Jaune turns around and walks with absolute confidence that he's walking out as the victor.
Next Week
"Can I have Team RWBY and Team JNPR at the center" Glynda calls out to the two teams.
The crowd looked at the teams and was betting either one of them, as the other half bets to Team RWBY since they are considered an elite of the first years, however the other half were betting on Team JNPR, mostly Pyrrha since they believed she is the one that will carrying her team together.
"I hope you're ready to lose, Vomit Boy~ because I'm going to take that card to Vale and spend all of it!" Yang was pumped and couldn't wait to finally get her hands on that card.
"Keep your filthy hands off our fearless leader's credit card! It will never go to you!" Nora retorted at Yang and held her weapon closely.
"If two teams are done saying to one another, I commend the battle... now!"
Team RWBY quickly comes over towards JNPR for an easy win, however, Jaune was grinning as he stood behind his team and patted Ren and Nora's back. His hands glowed before all things went to shits.
Needless to say... JNPR took the W of this match.
"Well, I hope you will handle our homework, guys." Jaune gives Ruby a pat on her back, "As for my team however, We're gonna head to the movies and get a fancy dinner for our big W, guess Beacon has a new top dogs of the first years now."
Jaune laughs before his team follows after him, they talk about their easy victory against Team RWBY, while the rest of the students were in shock and didn't know what to say. This so-called match was rigged to begin with, Glynda rubbed her forehead and sighs, she needs to tell Arc to control his Semblance better, but regardless a win is a win...
Team RWBY themselves however was in shock, Weiss in particular couldn't believe she was defeated by Arc of all people, Blake was disappointed that she wouldn't get the limited edition Ninja's of Love this season, Yang was heavily disappointed and was forced to call off the party she told everyone.
The biggest impact was Ruby herself, her team and her training for this match and was easily squashed by Jaune and his strange glowing hands. This was unacceptable... She'll get her rematch and revenge, and show Jaune that Team RWBY will get back their spot.
"Enjoy it, while you can Jaune..." Ruby growls before she takes off back to her dorm, her team following their leader and wanting to sleep this day off.
