Grim News From The Heaven
This fanfiction isn't doing too good. No negative reviews or anything, but not too many people seem to be interested. Don't know why exactly, but it's not a pleasant sight, so this is not making me or my brother very happy. So if you could, please check this out and give it a chance.
Percales' POV
The ride in my new car was amazing. It was great getting to feel the wind on me like that and everything. But when I got back to Camp Half-Blood, the place looked like a dump. There were trees and bushes on fire, there were cracks and holes in the ground, there were dead Cyclops, and it looked like there were a lot of half-bloods who got seriously injured.
My friends and I ran over to see what happened when we were gone. Judging by what we see, nothing good.
"Mom!" I yelled, hoping she was okay.
"Percales!" I heard her voice. I turned to see her running towards me. I ran towards her as well as soon as I saw her. We both tackled each other in a tight hug.
What happened here Mrs. Jackson?" Chloe asked.
"Well, while you kids were gone, an army of Cyclopes came out of nowhere and attacked us. We were hardly prepared for this assault and so many either died or got terribly injured." Mom explained.
Just as soon as Mom explained that, the Olympian gods all came down from the sky. All of the Olympian gods were here, and judging by their expressions, they were just as hurt and shocked as we were.
Athena and Poseidon came rushing towards us. "Annabeth, are you okay?" Athena asked.
"I'm fine, I guess." She said, not confidently.
"Wait, where's dad?" I asked, just realizing that my father wasn't here.
Mom didn't answer me, and neither did Poseidon or Athena. Not only did that scare me, but that also made me feel vulnerable and broken.
"Mom, where's dad?" I asked again.
She looked like she was trying to tell me, but couldn't find the words she needed to say to tell me.
"I – I don't know Perce, I don't know where he is right now." She said.
Okay, I'm freaking out. If she doesn't know where Dad is, then that obviously means he's not here in camp anymore.
"What happened?" Poseidon asked.
"An army of Cyclopes came out of nowhere and attacked us." Mom explained to him.
"Poseidon, these Cyclops aren't your Cyclopes, are they?" Athena asked.
Poseidon went over to the nearest dead Cyclops and bent down to it. He placed his hand on the dead Cyclops and his hand began to glow. I guess this was his way of trying to figure out if these Cyclopes were his or not. His hand began to glow blue, and then there was some black aura coming out of the dead Cyclops and into Poseidon's hand. Poseidon then got a confused look in his eyes.
"These Cyclopes aren't mine. Whosever these Cyclopes belong to, they don't belong to me. These Cyclopes were sent her by someone else, but by who and for what Purpose I cannot say." He confirmed.
It was nice to hear that Poseidon had nothing to do with this assault, but at the same time, it wasn't too good of an answer to hear. Because not only did this make everyone wonder what these Cyclopes came here and attacked Camp Half-Blood for, but it also left us with so many other questions. Who sent them here? Why were they sent here? Who lead them here? How were they able to move without any of the gods being able to see them? Who are they working for and why? All these questions and no answers that I could probably think of didn't fit in with the bills on this one. I don't know how this could've happened, but I had a very strong feeling I was gonna to have to be the one who finds out.
-Line Break-
After we cleaned up the camp as best as we could, the gods demanded a meeting. All the gods, half-bloods, satyrs, centaurs, and nymphs gathered at the Obstacle Tower.
"Alright, everyone listen up. As we all know, an unexpected attacked recently happened by an army of Cyclopes and this attack has left us with so many unanswered questions. We must find out what exactly is the meaning of all this and we must be prepared for another attack. If this army of Cyclops was able to move without us knowing anything about them and be able to attack you without us knowing until the last minute, then there might be more attacks on the way." Zeus announced.
"Brother, we may have a bit of a bigger problem. Percy isn't here. So, shouldn't we be searching for him as well?" Poseidon asked. I'm pretty sure he was pretty much begging or demanding that we find my dad.
"Indeed. We must find Percy Jackson as fast. Camp Half-Blood can't possibly be able to withstand another attack like that without its leader and greatest warrior." Zeus said.
"Artemis, when night falls, I want you and your hunters to find Percy. We need to find him and fast." Zeus said.
"Yes father." Artemis replied.
"Alright, if no one has anything else to say, this meeting is finished." Zeus said.
Just as everyone was getting up to leave, there was a black cloud that came from the ground. If we didn't know what this meant, we would've probably attacked on sight. But everyone knows that that means Hades is coming. When the clouds formed into Hades, he didn't look good at all. I mean he looked like he was recently in a war of his own. He was covered in sweat, dirt, and blood. He looked so beaten and exhausted.
"Hades!" Zeus and Poseidon yelled as soon as they saw him. Hades didn't seem he could walk on his own. He was about to fall, but Zeus and Poseidon were able to get to him before he fell. They brought him to the stones and sat him down. All the rest of us could do is stand by and watch and listen to what they were saying.
"Hades, what happened to you?" Zeus asked worried.
"I was in Elysium when an army of Cyclopes came into the underworld. They drove me out and claimed the underworld as their own." He explained.
There were spread out whispers and mumblings going on throughout the crowds. Everyone seemed to be confused or shocked that Hades was attacked sometime right after Calf Half-Blood was attacked.
"Hades, why did they attack you?" Poseidon asked.
"Other than to claim the underworld, I don't know. But they were stronger than what Cyclops should be. I was barely able to withstand some of them." He explained.
"This is grim news. If Cyclopes can actually rival the power of Olympus, then the situation is must worse than I thought. But it doesn't make sense of how such an event is possible" Zeus said.
"Brother, I'm afraid you don't quite understand how wrong you are on this case." Hades said. Zeus looked confused now. Hades obviously knows something about those Cyclopes that the rest of us here don't know. "Brother, that army of Cyclopes is being led by Gargarensis." Hades said.
When he said that name, there was a sudden strong chill in the wind. The torches were nearly put out by this sudden chill. All the gods seemed to be scared out of their minds just by the mention of this name.
"This army is being led by the original Cyclops?" Poseidon asked worried.
"I'm afraid so brother. That army of Cyclopes is being controlled by the original Cyclops." Hades confirmed.
"But how is that possible? The original Cyclops hasn't revealed himself since the destruction of Atlantis. How can he still exist, and why would he attack Camp Half-Blood?" Zeus asked.
"I'm afraid whatever he came here for has something to do with Percy Jackson. He's captured Percy Jackson and Percy is under his watch now." Hades explained.
I didn't know anything about this 'original Cyclops', but how can he capture my father? Hearing this was making tears to form in my eyes. How can my father be beaten by some Cyclops? He's Percy Jackson, the strongest half-blood ever. He's the one who destroyed the titan king Kronos. How can some Cyclops be stronger than him? I couldn't take it anymore. I had to get away. I ran away from the crowd and ran to the beach. When I got to the beach, I just knelt to the sand and burst into tears. My father was taken away from me. And what really hurts me was that I wasn't around to try to protect him. I should've stayed. I should've been here. I should never have left camp.
As I was crying, I eventually heard someone coming. I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Percales, are you okay?" Asked the voice that belonged to the girl I'm in love with, Chloe daughter of Zeus. I couldn't answer in words. All I could do is whimper and heavily breathe as if I was in a hospital bed dying. Chloe then wrapped her hands around me and brought me to her.
Chloe's POV
It hurt me, seeing him so alone and broken. As soon as I saw him leave the crowd, I knew right away what was wrong with him and where he was gonna go. I know him better than anyone. Well, maybe not as much as his parents, but you get the point. As I held him, I let him shed as many tears as he had to while I just rubbed his head with my hand and rocked back and forth. I really cared about him a lot, he means a lot to me, and I want to be here to help him pull himself together and feel less hurt. I've never admitted this to anyone, but I've always had a huge crush on him. I really, really like him.
After a while, he finally seemed to calm down a little and seemed to control himself a little better now. He began to wipe his eyes to dry off his tears with his arms, and his breathing was starting to settle more better now. But he never pulled away. He just kept letting me hold him, not that I minded at all. He brought his beautiful eyes towards mine. "Thanks Clo." He said. That was his nickname for me. It was a little weird for me to have a nickname since my name was only five letters, but he was the one who made it up, so it's actually pretty cute of him.
I nodded my head and planted quick kiss on his head. I would love to kiss somewhere else and a lot more, but that would just make things between us pretty weird. "Come on, the gods want to talk to you." I said, trying to help him up.
We made our way to the Olympians to find out what they wanted. When we got there, everyone seemed to be saddened that their greatest hero was captured and defeated by an army of Cyclopes.
Percales' POV
When we reached the gods, I was first greeted by a hug from my mom, Poseidon, and Athena. They were all trying to comfort me of all my sorrows. When they pulled away, I just sat down on the stones, not really feeling too well right now.
"Percales, I'm sorry for your father." Zeus said.
All I did is nod my head.
"At least he's still alive and not dead." Chloe said as she took a seat near me and tried to comfort me by rubbing my back.
"It doesn't make much of a difference to me. I just want my father back." I simply said.
"He'll most likely be kept somewhere in the underworld by Gargarensis." Hades said who was still sitting on a stone, which was right in front of me. That sudden chill in the wind happened again when he said that name.
"Who's Gargarensis?" I asked wondering who this Cyclops is and why the gods seemed afraid of him, and why his name makes a sudden chill in the air, which just happened yet again.
"He's the original Cyclops, the first of his entire race. He was even the very first monster to ever roam the earth. You're familiar with the story pertaining to the destruction of Atlantis correct?" Hades stated. I nodded. "He was the one who got it destroyed. The people of Atlantis were a strong race of warriors, former worshipers of the titans." He began.
"I thought they worshipped Poseidon." I said.
"They did, but before they worshiped your grandfather, they worshiped the gods that came before us. But as time went on, they began to choose us over the titans. With their city surrounded by water, Poseidon was the main god they worshiped. All the Cyclopes were well worshiped by the Atlanteans as well. At the time, all Cyclopes were followers of Poseidon, all except for one." Hades said.
"Gargarensis." I said, causing that chill again.
"Please address him as the original Cyclops." Poseidon said.
"Sorry." I said.
"Anyways, out of all Cyclopes, the original one was rebellious against Poseidon. Eventually, his rebellion inspired many other monsters to rebel against Olympus. This was also a time when the original Cyclops wasn't as strong as the gods. But as time went on, as he began to gathers under his command, he eventually began to dabble into the oldest powers of ancient Greece. But he didn't stop there. His lust for power wouldn't satisfy with the ancient power of Greece alone. Eventually, he got himself dabbled into the powers ancient Egypt, Norse, Chinese, Roman, and Spartan. When he got to a point where he had one of the greatest armies ever and when he gained a power no monster has ever had before, he led an assault on Atlantis. The war was catastrophic and cost many monsters and Atlanteans their lives. That war was what got the entire city destroyed." Hades explained.
"So, he has power that comes from the oldest and most powerful secrets of every god in existence?" I asked in disbelief.
"Yes. His lust for power is a lust unlike any other. He was a huge threat to Olympus, which is why the city of Atlantis had to be completely destroyed, so that he would be forever destroyed with it." Hades explained.
"If that's so, then how is he even still alive?" I asked, getting a bit confused.
"We thought he was finished that day, but apparently, we were wrong. He somehow survived, and has been hiding in the shadows, away from our sight." Hades said.
But why would he attack camp? That doesn't make any sense to me." I said.
"Nor does it to us really. Whatever the reason is though, he must be stop, or he'll finish what he started, destroying all traces of all gods." Hades said.
"And he's the one who captured my son?" Poseidon asked.
"Yes." Hades simply said.
"But what would he want with my father?" I asked.
"I have no idea, but whatever he wants from Percy, we must stop.
"If I may Zeus, I believe this might be the beginning of a prophecy." My mother spoke in.
"What prophecy?" He asked confused. I was confused as well.
"The prophecy that was revealed on the day of Percales' birth." She said. By saying that, I think a sudden realization was hit on the Olympians.
"What's this prophecy?" I asked.
Son of two demigods, part of seven,
Shall receive grim news from the heaven.
A hero of great importance will be imprisoned,
The most ancient of all evil will be risened.
Olympians shall go to war to the final breath,
An ancient weapon will bring the earth its death.
"Annabeth may be right. This could be the beginning of Percales' prophecy." Poseidon said. That didn't sound good to me at all.
"Percales, you must go and free your father. You're the only one that has a chance of freeing your father." Zeus said.
I want to free my father, but how would I be able to? A Cyclops that surpasses all gods, how can I possibly match up to that? My father was pretty much the same way, and even he couldn't defeat him.
"How? How do I do it? How can I possibly be able to find my father, especially since we don't know where exactly where he's being kept at in the underworld?" I asked.
"Hades, can you locate Percy in the underworld?" Zeus asked.
"With the original Cyclops using it now, no, I can't." Hades said.
"There's no way I'll find him in time." I stated sadly.
"I may not be able to help you, but there is someone that might be able to." Hades said.
That brought a small sudden ounce of hope in me. "Who?"
"You might be able to get help from another god. He's mine and Persephone's son. His name is Remington. He's the god of pain, suffering, and death. He might be able to help you.
(I'll let my brother take it from there if he can. So now, let's go for a different setting for a minute.)
Percy's POV
I felt so bad and numb. I could barely feel any part of my body. I couldn't move at all. All I could do was move my eyes. It still hurt, but it wasn't as bad as trying to move a different part of my body.
"Feeling a little sore, are we?" said a deep and extremely powerful voice. I angled my eyes as best as I could to try to see whose voice that was. I saw a Cyclops standing near me.
'Oh, now I remember. That Cyclops Gargarensis or whatever his name is shocked me with lightning from his hand and shocked me. That attack knocked me out. That's as much as I remember.
"Where am I?" I asked.
"Why we are in the realm in Tartarus." He said.
'TARTARUS!? Why did he bring me here? What's going on here?' I thought to myself.
"What do you want from me?" I asked.
"I have need of that titan slaying energy of yours." He said as he grabbed me by the shirt collar and lifted me up. "Let's go. My mother is waiting." He said, dragging me.
'Oh no!' I thought, knowing what he means by 'his mother'.
There's chapter 5. I lost track of how much I was typing. I guess I'm getting a little better at making long chapters. Alright, well I'll leave the story here, and let my brother carry on for the next chapter.
