The Dark Side of the Moon
Chapter Four
A week went by as Camp Half Blood finally returned to normal. With the camp cleared of debris and all the tents backup and running, the teachers could get back to their classes. While the students could get back to learning or sparing at the training grounds. Yet Percy refused, he along with Annabeth and Grover, stood outside Big House wanting answers.
The three of them were about to head in when the sound of footsteps caught their attention. Turning their head, there stood a woman with short brown hair wearing a simple black shirt and blue jeans. She looked at the three of them with a warm smile across her lips.
"Hello my name is Hazel. Are you here to see Chiron too?" the woman asked.
"Yeah, can I ask why you are here to see him?" Percy said.
"To discuss the Dark Side of the moon," Hazel said.
Percy Annabeth and Grover looked at another, then back at Helen, but before they could ask what she was talking about, Dionysus and Celeste walked out of the front door of Big House.
"Ah, Dr. Williams Chiron will see you now," Dionysus said.
Nodding, Hazel followed Dionysus inside, leaving Celeste outside with the three confused teens.
Uh, what was that about a dark side of the moon?" Annabeth asked.
"Ah, you caught that huh," Celeste said. "Dio, and was hoping to get here before she said anything."
"Dio?" Percy asked.
"It's my nickname for Dionysus. What do you three call him?" Celeste asked.
"Mr. D" Grover replied.
Celeste chuckled. "How sweet,"
"You, Chiron, and Mr. D know each other, don't you?" Annabeth asked.
"We're friends, believe it not. We were students here at Camp Half Blood, the trinity they called us." Celeste replied, motioning for the teens to follow her as they walked through the camp.
"What happen?" Annabeth asked.
Celeste sighed. The four of them had finally made it to a lake. Celeste stared down at the ripples. "Life did. Chiron took over the camp while I went out and explored the world. While Dionysus got into trouble again and had to stay here."
Sitting down by the edge of the lake, Celeste patted the ground beside her, prompting the teens to sit around her.
"Sorry for going on like that. Now you want to know about the dark side of the moon," Celeste said.
"Yeah, and how it's connected to Selene," Percy said.
"Okay, for a long time, they considered those words a myth, but it was really a prophecy."
"About Selene," Percy said.
Celeste nodded. "Selene is related to Nyx."
"Who is the daughter of Chaos, known as the origin of all," Annabeth added.
"Some believe the end of everything too," Celeste paused as she rose to her feet." "It's said that when the moon is infused with his power, it would go dark and chaos will consume the world.
"Is there any way to stop it?" Percy asked.
"It would only delay the inevitable," Celeste said.
"I would rather delay it and be ready then to have it happen now," Percy said.
Looking to Percy, Celeste smiled. No wonder you're his favorite, she thought to herself.
Turning around, Chiron and Dionysus were heading in their directions with stern looks on their faces.
"Oh boy, they don't look happy," Grover said.
"Because I didn't keep my mouth shut like I was told to," Celeste said, follow with a smirk.
"Correct," Chiron said, narrowing his eyes at Celeste.
Percy stood in front of Celeste, along with Annabeth and Grover. Taking his eyes off Celeste, Chiron looked at the three teens, as did Dionysus, who was also intrigued by this.
"You can fool the rest of the camp by saying it was a rogue attack from some other power, but we want to know what's really going on so we can help stop this dark moon thing, at least for now." Percy said.
"Yeah, we are trained to stop things like this. Lets us help," Annabeth said.
"Yeah, I know we can be useful," Grover said.
After a few moments, a loud sigh emulated from Chiron. He glanced over to Dionysus, who simply nodded. "Very well, come along, then we may have a way of delaying this."
As the teens followed Chiron back to Big House, Dionysus stood beside Celeste. Shaking his head, he turned around, looking out upon the lake.
"There just kids Cel, they don't need to be wrapped up in a mess like this."
"You saw how determined they are. They want to help, so I gave them the information they needed. Don't they remind you of another set of three?"
Dionysus nodded. "Yeah, and that's what scares me there not immortals like us. They can still get hurt or worse."
"True, but they were going to help anyway, wither we approved or not." Celeste said, placing a hand on Dionysus' shoulder. Besides, they have us to back them up.
Dionysus laid a hand over Celeste, nodding, smiling both of them headed toward Big House.
"I'm glad you're here," Dionysus said.
"Like wise, oh I have a question."
"Sure,"
"Can I call you Mr. D?" Celeste said, batting her eyelashes.
Dionysus' cheeks redden as he quickly looked away while a chuckle left Celeste's lips.
"I take that as a no," Celeste said as she kept on laughing.
Dionysus shot her a glare as the two continued walking.
