(A/N) Thank you for all of the support! It means a lot! Now I know it seems for now Alec is just an add on, and not his own thing yet. That will change. There will be added scenes and such, it's just for now this is just for you as the reader to get to know him. Thank you for waiting patiently for an update, I hope you like it! Once we get further ahead in the series there will be more in-depth about who Alec is and what he's feeling. But like I said for now this is just a build up. Thank you for reading! Please follow for updates, and be sure to leave a review! Sorry for any grammar mistakes. I own nothing, but my OC. Enjoy!
Another dreary and rainy day of Forks. Alec watches the rain drops glide down his window indicating it's going to be a cloudy cold day. 'The first of many' Alec thinks to himself, but can't help but be comforted by that thought. Forks has always felt like home to him. Alec peels off the covers and gets out of bed. He manages to get dressed, and snags a moment in the bathroom; before Bella shoves him out to brush her teeth.
"Are you riding with me or taking the Jeep?" Bella asks, as she grabs her backpack by the front door. Alec already had his backpack on and was putting on a beanie.
"I'll ride with you." Alec says, knowing damn well Bella would want the company. Bella was never the one to want attention; with them being new and would most likely get attention, he figured this way she wouldn't have to deal with it alone. Bella nods, and the two head out to the truck. The ride to school was silent. Both of the twins were racked with anxiety. It didn't help it was already a month into the semester, and everyone was surely grouped up with friends. Bella pulls into the school's parking lot. A few kids are standing around their cars chatting. She manages to get a parking spot close to the school.
"Nice ride!" One of the guys say, as Alec and Bella exit the truck. Alec couldn't tell if the guy meant it or was making a joke. Considering all the cars in the lot looked nothing like the truck and the look on his face, Alec assumed it was the latter. 'No respect for the classic' Alec thought.
"Keep your opinions to yourself." Alec says lowly but the guy heard him clearly. Alec knew he came off as an ass, but he didn't care. Alec pushes Bella towards the school, so they can get the crappy first day over with. The twins pull out the school map and their schedules, they had the same classes. The school no doubt did it to try and make them more comfortable by keeping them together. The maps and schedules were sent to them by mail, but the two had to stop at the office before their first class. Which they did, though the receptionist lady was no help on finding their first class; but did give each of them a slip for their teachers to sign.
"You must be Alexander and Isabella, the new kids." A cheerful guy says coming up to the twins.
"Just Bella and Alec... please." Bella corrects him nicely. The guy miles more brightly, if that was even possible.
"You got it. I'm Eric. The eyes and ears of this place. Anything you need; Tour Guide, lunch date... shoulder to cry on" Eric rants as the three walk more into the school. Alec breathes out of his nose a little loudly, almost a small scoff of amusement; a smile appearing on his face.
"Bella is more of a... 'suffer in silence' type." Alec jokes as Bella shoots him a look. Eric laughs a bit.
"That's alright, I got you buddy." Eric says putting out a fist waiting for Alec to bump it with his. Alec shakes his head amused, and bumps Eric's fist with his. "That's a good headline for your sister's feature, maybe put you down as a 'bro' for yours. I'm on the paper, and you guys are news! Front page, baby!"
"No we're not." Bella says, shaking her head. "I mean, we can't be... like not at all." Bella says shooting down the idea, fumbling with her words. More attention was the last thing she wanted.
"Whoa, chillax. No features." Eric assures her. Alec then asks where they can find Mr. Varner's class, and Eric leads them the way.
Gym. Unfortunately the school already had uniforms for both him and Bella ready; so they had to participate. While Bella is extremely clumsy and doesn't do well with sports, for Alec it came naturally. Alec always loves to go hiking, biking, jogging, and any other cardio exercising. Though Alec always a hard time making friends to do those things with. Alec has always been more of a loner. He wasn't shy by any means, just wasn't one to fully branch out.
Today's gym class consists of volleyball. Bella loathes it, and Alec isn't too fond of the sport either. After everyone got dressed, the gym teacher assigned teams. With the twins being new and all, she teamed them together. The games of volleyball began. Alec was doing alright, and was just thankful the ball didn't come to him much. Bella was doing a great job avoiding the ball, but couldn't for much longer, as the ball came her way. Bella blocks the ball thinking it was going to hit her straight in the face. She simply hits the ball, but not over the net. Bella hits it to the left, where she accidently hits a random guy on the back of the head.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Bella says, as she quickly walks over to the poor guy. "I warned them to not let me play." Bella continues as the guy turns to look at her; still rubbing the back of his head where the ball hit. The guy seems to like what he sees, as he stops rubbing his head. He gives Bella what he thought was a charming smile. Alec sees the whole thing, and makes his way over, as well as another girl does.
"It's okay, it's fine." The random guy says, brushing off Bella's apologies. Alec makes it to Bella's side.
"Everything okay?" Alec asks, the guy looks at Alec funny. 'Who is this tool?' Alec can't help but think.
"Yeah, no sweat." The guys says. "You're Isabella, right?" He asks turning his attention back onto Bella.
"Just Bella, and I'm her brother Alec." Alec says cutting in, annoyed the guy was making it obvious of his lust for Bella.
"Right. I'm Mike. Newton." Mike greets, a little intimidated by Alec.
"She has a great spike huh?" The girl, that also rushed over when Alec did, says. "I'm Jessica by the way." Jessica says introducing herself. The way her eyes flickered back and forth between Bella and Mike, Alec instantly knew she likes this Newton kid. "So, you guys are from Arizona right? Aren't people from Arizona supposed to be like really tan?" Jessica asks with a smile on her face. Alec knew she meant it as some sort of jab at Bella, but also to break the tension that was upon the group.
"Maybe that's why they kicked us out." Bella says, and everyone kind of laughed at that.
"You're funny." Mike says smiling. Jessica looks jealous, and Bella looks just uncomfortable with the attention. Alec just wants this moment to be over, and he got his wish, the bell rings.
Finally it was lunch time. Overall the day wasn't too bad for Alec, but the day wasn't over yet. Alec still isn't too sure how he feels about Forks High. The kids are definitely weird and are not shy. Maybe because it's a small town, everyone knows everyone, so everyone just spoke their mind. Alec usually didn't care if he got attention, but with being the one out of two new kids, the heat was on. At this point he couldn't wait till the excitement of being the new kids died down.
Alec and Bella follow Mike and Jessica to the cafeteria. The four get their trays and pick out food to eat. Then they all sit at a table and settle. That's when Eric comes and squeezes into the seat between Bella and Mike. Mike was sitting on Bella's right and Alec is to her left. An empty seat is next to Alec. Now that Eric is to Bella's right, Mike is seating on his right, and Jessica is seating on Mike's right; as the table is round. There's only one seat left.
"Mike, you met my homie's Bella and Alec." Eric greets, smiling.
"Oh, your homie's?" Mike asks, as Jessica scoots over to take the seat next to Alec.
"It's first grade all over again, you guys are the shiny new toys." Jessica says jokingly. Alec scoffs, but couldn't help agree. It was then when a flash went off, and a girl sits in the empty seat, next to Mike and Jessica.
"Sorry, I needed a candid for the feature." She says softly and gives a small smile.
"The features dead Angela, don't bring it up again." Erica says kind of snapping at her. Eric then turns to Bella; "I got your back baby." Eric then gets up to follow Mike as they both go to another group's table.
"Guess we'll just run another editorial on teen drinking." Angela says defeated.
"I'm sorry." Alec says to her. "We just don't want anymore attention then what we're already getting." Alec explains, he didn't expect for Eric to shut her down like that over them. Angela nods in understanding, giving Alec a small smile, meaning no harm was done.
"You could always do eating disorders, or Speedo padding on the swim team." Bella suggests. Angela perks up even more.
"Wait... that's a good one!" She says excitedly. Jessica nods mumbling out a quick 'right'. Just then something else catches Bella's attention.
"Who are they?" Bella asks, everyone at the table turns to look. Four people enter the cafeteria. Alec couldn't help but feel off looking at them. All of them pale with porcelain skin, and their eyes seem to be a golden brown, more on the gold side than brown. They all look the same, they all look too perfect.
"The Cullens." Angela says, as Jessica leans in like she's ready to tell the twins all the juicy gossip.
"Doctor and Mrs. Cullen's foster kids. They all moved down here from Alaska like two years ago." Jessica starts to explain.
"They kind of keep to themselves." Angela adds.
"Because they're all together. Like, together together. The blonde girl, Rosalie, and the big dark-haired guy, Emmett... they're a thing. I'm not even sure that's legal." Jessica explains. Alec had no doubt that Rosalie is the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. Though Alec still felt a pit in his stomach. She may be beautiful on the outside, but it wasn't always the case on the inside. Emmett is a tall muscular guy. He came off as a jock or someone who would have no issue fighting you. The mischief in his eyes said other wise. Though he was big he seems child like.
"Jess, they're not actually related." Angela says, laughing at her friend's antics.
"But they live together." Jessica argues. "And the little dark haired girl, Alice, she's really weird. She's with Jasper, the blonde who looks like he's in pain. I mean, Dr. Cullen's like this foster dad slash match maker." Jessica rants a bit. Alec thought of Alice like she resembles a fairy. She came off as a delicate flower. Just like Emmett, she seemed child like as well. Jasper didn't seem to be present, like his mind was wondering else where. Jessica's right, he looked to be in pain.
"Maybe he'll adopt me..." Angela says dreamily, but jokingly. Bella laughs a bit at that, starting to like Angela, as well as Alec is.
"Who's he?" Bella asks, nodding her head towards the fifth member of the Cullens.
"That's Edward Cullen." Jessica answers. The rest of the Cullens were already seated at a table, Edward was making his way towards them. "He's totally gorgeous, obviously. But apparently, no one here is good enough for him. Like I care." Jessica says laughing a bit. But Alec could tell she cared, she cared a lot. "Anyway, don't waste your time."
"I wasn't planning on it." Bella says, but she kept stealing glances a the boy. And much to Alec's dismay, Edward was staring at Bella too. Alec couldn't figure out how he feels about Edward Cullen.
Biology class with Mr. Molina, was uneventful. It was the last class for the twins. Alec got to sit with Mike, and Bella was stuck sitting next to the one and only Edward Cullen. Alec would keep glancing over there, but luckily Edward seemed to want nothing to do with Bella Swan. Once the bell rung Edward was quick to flee the classroom. Alec met with Bella and dragged her to the office; so they can return the slips their teachers had to sign. When they got there, they were met with Edward trying to switch his classes.
Bella seems visibly upset by this, and Alec couldn't figure out way. Edward then left the office in a hurry. Edward made sure to squeeze by Alec to avoid Bella. The twins return their slips and make their way to Bella's truck. They get into the truck and make their way home, not before Bella spared one more glance at the Cullens in the school parking lot; giving Alec a dark gloomy feeling, and it had nothing to do with Forks weather.
