"Alright everyone! Thank you for waiting while we cleared the ice! Would the next contestants please enter the stadium!" Present Mic announced as the crowd cheered for the coming match. After a couple of minutes, Bulla ran out from the stadium, making her way to the stage. "We've got quite the matchup here! On one side we've got Brief, who's laser has proven to be quite the devastating strike! And as if to rival her in a twist of fate, we have Aoyama!" He announced. "We haven't seen much of it, but I heard his Navel Laser is really something else entirely! I wonder why he's been reserving it?!"
"On the surface it'd be a pretty even battle." Aizawa chimed in as both contestants entered the ring. "Although, based on what we had seen early, it was clear that Brief has refined her Quirk beyond just firing lasers. She's made it so that her Quirk is not just offensive, but defensive and evasive. It gives her the potential to go further than most Heroes in training."
"Awfully wordy for a mummy, but you heard it here, folks! It seems our winner will be another sure thing!" Present Mic continued as Aizawa growled at his nickname. "Anyway, let's get this match started! BEGIN!"
With the match starting, Aoyama placed his hands behind his head and smiled. "I'm sorry to go all out, Mademoiselle, but I need to win this!" As he thrusted forward, Bulla dashed toward him. Just before the laser hit its mark, Bulla twisted around, looking to the sky before firing her lasers from both hands. As she hit the ground hard, and grit her teeth, the laser passed over her, and blasted off towards Aoyama. Now unable to see her, his worry only worsened as he was suddenly swept off his feet.
Bulla had blasted off along the ground, tackling his legs and knocking him over. As he fell forward, Bulla slammed her hand down and curled her fingers, catching the rest of her body and positioning herself towards her opponent before blasting off with her other hand. With the speed of a rocket, she slammed her head into Aoyama's gut, knocking the wind out of him as he flew a few feet.
"Woah! What an attack!" Present Mic announced in excitement.
"Hm. She used her opponents attack to hide herself until the last minute, and shifted her momentum without giving her opponent an opportunity to brace themselves, or to counterattack." Aizawa followed, looking down at the papers with Aoyama and Bulla's information.
Laying on his back, it was apparent just by the look in his eyes that he was in a daze. "It's clear that you haven't had much endurance training, Aoyama."
"Alright, Class Rep!" Ashido called out from the stands.
"Good job, Brief!" Uraraka followed as Midoriya began to write in his notebook.
"It's no wonder she's the Class Rep. Offense, defense, evasion, her Quirk is incredible, but it's her judgement, reflexes, and seamless transitions between moves that really puts her ahead." He muttered.
"I guess a smart brain never stops thinking. Ribbit." Asui mentioned as Midoriya covered his mouth.
On the arena, Bulla began to smile nervously, not quite used to the attention of the crowd. "Such a weakling..." She suddenly heard echo across her head.
"It's a good thing, I wouldn't have survived against anyone else!" The voices that had returned caused her to grit her teeth in anger.
"Nobody really wants to see me fight anyway." As she began to clench her fists, the sudden howl of the crowd caused her eyes to widen. In a confused daze, she looked around, having snapped back to reality.
"Brief, did you hear me?" Midnight said, gently holding her shoulder. "You're free to return to the stands. You advance to the next round."
"O-Oh! Right, thank you, Ma'am." Bulla told her before stepping away, leaving the arena and returning to the stadium to meet her friends. Why is this happening? Am I just nervous about my fights? Bulla thought to herself before shaking her head. It couldn't be! I'm just... Ugh! I wish they'd just stop!
As the crowd eagerly awaited the coming match, the next competitors entered the arena, smiling wide. "From Class 1A, we have the rock-hard Kirishima! Able to harden any part of his body, he can be the ultimate weapon or an unbreakable shield! And from Class 1B, we have Son, who's been soaring through the ranks with her Quirk! This will be an interesting one!"
"Even though Son seems to be skilled in her own right, her Quirk suggests that she's at a disadvantage unless she can work around Kirishima's Hardening. A head-on assault isn't advised." Aizawa said as he looked at Pan's wide smile on her photo.
"Well then, without any further delay, let's begin!" Present Mic announced as the sound of the crowd filled Pan's ears.
"Let's do this!" Pan told Kirishima as he slammed his fists together, making a loud scraping sound. As Pan dashed forward, she bent her leg at her knew and swung forward, slamming a heavy kick into Kirishima's stone-hard side. Pulling her leg back, she grabbed his arm, deflecting an oncoming blow before yanking his arm downward, pulling him into a knee strike against his temple.
Kirishima flinched and staggered backward as Pan released him, rubbing his temple. "You hit a lot harder than I thought you would." He told her as he began to step forward, hardening both of his fists. Unleashing an onslaught of steeled punches, Pan stepped back, making her best attempt to dodge each one.
"The battle just started, and Son is on the defensive! How will she break through Kirishima's defenses?!" Present Mic announced.
Alright, I'm faster than him, but I won't be able to just lift him up and drop him outside the ring. And flying away won't do anything. My only option is to wait for his attacks and counterattack in return. She thought to herself as she pushed Kirishima's blow to the side, throwing another knee strike into his gut. Expecting to feel a brick-like sensation, she was surprised to find that the area wasn't soft as before, causing Kirishima to stagger once again. As she stepped back and wound her leg for another heavy kick, her leg was stopped by the brick-like sensation she was expecting before. However, as she bent backwards, avoiding Kirishima's hardened right hook, she noticed that his left arm was no longer jagged, unlike his right. I see... Could it be that...?
Stepping back, Pan threw a fist forward, however, just before it connected with his temple, her fist halted, and instead of attacking, she stepped back. Just like I thought! He can only harden a couple parts of his body at once!
"Woah! Just like that, Son stops her advances! What could be going on in her head!?" Suddenly, Pan flew forward, and as she threw a fist forward, she halted before it landed on his chest, and twisted around her opponent. Before he had the opportunity to harden, Pan slammed her knee into the side of his neck, followed by a second knee strike before somersaulting just above her opponent and unleashing a powerful, yet graceful kick to Kirishima's face, knocking him over.. "Hold on hold on! Son suddenly takes the offensive and unleashes a devastating three-part attack!"
As Kirishima picked himself up, Pan gave her opponent no time to do anything else. Rush him so that he wastes his stamina hardening! Continuing her series of feints, Pan continued to relentlessly deliver blows to Kirishima until she slammed her foot into his hardened chest. As her opponent stepped back, Pan smiled, feeling that Kirishima couldn't continue to hold his defenses. "Now for the finisher!" Pan said as she unleashed a massive heavy kick, strong enough to send Kirishima skidding across the ground and onto the ground below the arena.
"Kirishima is out of bounds! Son advances to the second round!" Midnight said as she cracked her whip.
"That was incredible!" Present Mic said excitedly as the crowd began to cheer. "Who would have thought that this lovely lady packed that much of a wallop!?"
"Oh, would you look at that!" A blond boy suddenly said, peering over the wall that separated Class 1A and 1B. "So much for Class 1A being so high and mighty! If you ask me, I think you should all just give up now befo-!"
Before he could finish, he suddenly went limp as Itsuka Kendo peered over the wall. "Sorry 'bout him." She said to Class 1A with a smile and a wave.
"Wow, Son is actually really strong to be able to overcome Kirishima's defenses like that..." Midoriya muttered as he jotted down something in his notebook.
"Man, you two are really kickass, Class Rep." Kaminari said as he pressed a fist against her shoulder.
"Haha, yeah, that's just like Pan. She sure does take after Uncle Gohan and Super Grandpa Goku." Bulla said with a smile. "The Son family has always been martial arts geniuses."
"You know, I never hear you bring up your families, Brief." Uraraka said as Bulla's expression suddenly began to sulk.
"I, um... I don't want to talk about it that much..." She said with a depressed tone. "I'm sorry..." Before anyone else could say anything, Bulla got up and ran into the stadium, leaving her class behind again.
"Did I...say something wrong...?" Uraraka said, her face dropping to the same expression that her friend gave.
Suddenly, Bakugo got up, his hands in his pocket, and stomped away before anyone could talk any further. "Kacchan...?" Midoriya said as his childhood friend left his class behind.
"Bakugo, too?! Was what I said really that bad?!" Uraraka asked, tears streaming down her face.
