This was it he was the last human alive. Damn that bloody idiot Nier and his stupid replicant it doomed them all when it killed what the replicant's called the shadow lord aka himself the replicant's had all die of what they called the black scrawl without Nier there to be used to stablish the other Gestalt's aka Shades and the loss of the Grimoires caused Gestalt to fail.

funny enough what the stupid replicant had been trying to save his daughter from was black scrawl not knowing his own actions doomed both her and the rest of humanity. He himself had only survived by taking an android's body as his own.

The working androids where still trying to save them but it would never work there was a reason after all that Project Gestalt was resorted to in the first place. Instead of less drastic measures like cryo sleep or generation ships. And why so many shortcuts had to be taken to get their as fast as possible. It's why just cloning and genetic engineering alone had not been enough. Though if they had the dragon riders' body and the dragon's body earlier than they did or for a longer time frame they may have been able to do so as it showed some interesting results hell even the small study of just the dragon lead to Luciferase which when combined with belief slowed WCS.

Though by the time that had been found the legion wars where in full swing and the Giants body had already been nuked which just made things worse as it spread the taint over the whole world meaning that the simple solutions of just using cryo or generation ship could no longer work as everyone was already infected and even just taking everyone sex cell would not work as it was one of the first way's to save humanity looked into any children born after the nuking where born infected.

Project Gestalt worked because the Giant could not force it's one sided pact on the soul less Replicants taking them for its legion or turning them to 'salt' and the Gestalt didn't have a body which it could convert into 'salt' aka more of itself and where all in stasis so couldn't accept any pacts with it.

The Androids would never accept any deal with it either. shortcuts where taking for making the android minds by just using copies of the human's minds that when though Project Gestalt (it also worked as a kind of backup in case Gestalt failed at least humanity could live on in some small fashion) but they all where programmed to mistrust and hate the Giant and where loyal to Mankind. With metal body's it could not turn to 'salt' and none willing to make any kind of deal with it. And both the replicants and android hunting and kill any of it legion and gathering it's maso to remove from earth. The Giant was defeated.

And humanity could return. A Gestalt when combine with their Replicant would be much stronger than either apart or even the best of humanity from before the project. Replicant could not reproduce on their own as all children would be stillborn as without souls of their own until they were re-joined with their Gestalt no new soul could be made and the replicant only functions as they were connected to their Gestalt. The Gestalt needed pure Maso to not relapse and die and had no body of their own to reproduce. But once re-joined they could reproduce. The Gestalt's would grant great magical power from the Maso that made them up and the Replicant body's where much more powerful both in strength, speed, effectiveness and durability to old human body's meaning humanity would have come back from the disaster cause by the giant stronger than ever after a short time especially as the new body's would be biologically immortal.

Even the ritual that got rid of the taint when well thou it cost earth it's rotation the androids had already sort out counters for that both technological and magical so that earth would not suffer the negative effects of this by creating large sun shields and mirrors to spread the suns heat and UV light around the world and a magical wind that circle heat evenly around the world. Though both would leave one side of the world forever in day and the other in night.

This project though could work he had been working on it since Nier when and killed himself the last Gestalt had died 813 years ago. The earth had been able to generate Maso itself since the ritual's to rid earth of the white maso taint and create the magical wind. Though it was not a fast process at least for what would be needed for this project the facility was totally independent now able to last forever on its own even if the while world was carpet-bombed with 100 megaton nukes though a mix of magic and advanced technology guarded and maintained via P40 robots. It would collect maso and store it both to run it facility and to start building up the powered needed for the main chamber to execute it primary function. It's secondary was as an archive storing all the information on the project so far as well as all the other information humanity had built up until now. Well at least what had survived the legion wars.

It was a time machine though the maso needed would take at current intake levels about 4500 to 5000 years to collect. As it is by far the most energy intensive thing man could ever do even taking the whole of the energy output by the sun in a year would only take you back an hour in time maso is very powerful and it strange proprietary's is the only thing that allows this to work at all and the more maso you have at once the cheap it is to have the same or stronger effect.

Now the main question is when to go back to just after the purification of earth could work or even before hand to have the android be in place to be able to force the replicants to combine with their Gestalt. Hell just have Nier's replicant killed and not generate a new one until everyone else is combined with their own would be enough only replicant Nier could truly kill his own Gestalt the way he did as a Gestalt can't truly die unless it goes though relapse and replicant Nier manage to force his Gestalt to relapse which killed him leading to the loss of the pure maso he generated which meant the other Gestalt could no longer be stabilise and the loss of the Grimoires meant that only a normal willing combine with the replicant could happen and with the twin overseers killed at the replicant Nier's hands no new replicants could be made.

It's why I when into an android body the android knew that he was the leading scientist on Project Gestalt maso research and hoped that I could find a way to save humanity and there was no hope of me combining with my replicant as it had died already to some other relapsing Gestalt attack on the village it was staying in.

Of course, I could go even farther back to just after the legion's Red eyed commander was killed and have the Replicants just be put in stasis as well and increase Android production to carry out the job the replicant did to.

Or even go back to before the Giant was nuked or even came to earth generation ships, cryo and harvested sex cells from pre infected humans would work to save humanity as long as they could be kept from being infected with WCS in the first place. It be fine hell that's not even taking into account what the information I currently know making it easier to beat the legion or stop it from even forming in the first place if we banished the Giants maso instead of nuking it or hell even just getting robots or android's to collect it and lunch the particles into deep space or another solar systems star ( not our own just to be on the safe side) and use rituals to summon and banish the rest of it before it spreads or using magic to just permanently seal it and it legion behind the Wall of Jericho.

And there no tell what we could then use the dragon and its rider's body's for as even just the short time we had them lead to great advancements and almost lead to another way to deal with WCS it's mostly likely that the legion was the one to steal the body's. Not even taking the head start we have from what was discovered before it was stolen just being outright told to the researches.

But for now, he's going to one of the Android camps. It's been so long since he interacted with anything else so consumed as he was in his work to save his species and bring it and his son back. His son that relapsed shortly after Nier death. Quickly he notes down his thoughts and seal the facility it will open when he gets back or if he doesn't then when it's AI see an android that could use the facility once it has gathered enough maso to go back to the year 1990 just to be on the safe side then the choices are endless. The massive vault like door sealing behind him as he walks out the and enters the sewer systems and leave, thou the nearest hatch.

It had when a year since he had left the vault and he spend it watching the androids it seem they had begun to just look after the old ruined city of his race though he did hear of some kind of disagreement of some kind between the android and that all of these independent faction had be exiled to Australia it seem that with everyone knowing humanity was gone they wanted to begin moving on where the rest of the android wanted to just look after earth and every bit of human knowledge they could find until they could find some way to bring mankind back.

Which was interesting he though before a loud crashing sound filled his ear and then nothing as a huge weight fell atop him looking into the sky all he could see was a massive amount of some kind of flying robot firing red balls of energy at everything in sight as his sight when dark and black forever.

POV 2B year 11,946

The peace treaty between the peaceful machine factions led by Pascal and the Army of Humanity aka the main android command had just been signed. The Army of Humanity was still looking to create a new bunker and Project YoRHa. Though it seems like it will not be designed to fail unlike the last one. It seems there is no one left who knew that YoRHa was designed to fail especially in the way it did.

Not that there was much left of YoRHa in the first place herself, A2 and 9S brought back by their Pod's 042 and 153. 4S who had been collecting info for the resistance. The D and G units in the desert oil filed that spent most of their time high as kites of Jackass E-drug's, the B unit at the desert oasis and finally the H unit that was unknowingly operating the Moon base. With the destruction of the tower in the city ruins they had retaken the whole of the ruins and flooded city beside the amusement park which had combined with Pascal faction (which while still peaceful did change to still carry weapons after the fall of the village the first-time round) thou still only small bases in the desert and forest. There was repair work being done to get the city back in order and even to clear out the debris in the sewer system.

Just as she was thinking about this, she received a call to her Pod

"2B I'm sending you my location get here quickly you will never believe what we found" the shocked and excited voice of 9S call out

"on my way Nines" I answered back stoically
