Can Never Leave

He could see them through the glowing green portal, and banged again.

When had the Portal become a one way door?

The violet-eyed woman looked up through red rimmed eyes. She walked towards him, and looked at him sadly.

Don't go!

She pressed a button on the side of the glassy doorway, and a set of steel doors slid into place, sealing off his only hope.

He broke down and collapsed to his knees. No longer able to hold back the tears, he gave into the despair he had been holding back.

Two strong arms wrapped themselves around him, cradling like his mother used to when he was little. Warm ruby eyes and gentle hands guided him to his feet.

Time to go home.
