CHAPTER TWOO, I actually have up to chapter 3 ready and I'm working on the forth, but I wanted to try getting to a point where people would see some actual action in my story. I'm going to go the the Wave Mission and then see if this is worth continuing. Or I'll just continuing writing for the fun of it. Whatever seems more enticing. Leaves reviews in the comment area thing and enjoy the story!
I do not own Naruto-Kishimoto and the other creators of Naruto do.
Hinata was broken. All her life her mother had been there to help her with her problems. Now, who could she go to when there were problems? Hinata had never felt more lonely than she did when she heard that her mother had been killed. So many thoughts ran through the young girl's head. 'Who can I look to for advice? How will father react to this? Will the elders expect more from me?... all of that worrying stopped when Hinata realized that 'Hanabi won't have any memories of Mother'. Hanabi was only a few months old and hasn't even started to walk. This thought made Hinata curl up on her bed and cry. Tears not only for her, but her father and sister too.
Hiashi didn't show any emotion at the news. Or rather he couldn't because some of the elders had been present. Needing to keep appearances Hiashi held back his emotions until he had returned to his study. Making sure he was alone Hiashi allowed tears to fall down his face. Tears that hadn't been shed since the death of his mother when he was seven.
As the coffins of the Three Hyuga Members made their way to the Cemetery sky whempt. Immediate family members of those who had died and the elders were present at the burial. Hanabi never screamed the entire time, instead she cried sensing the death of her mother. Hiashi was able to restrain his emotions and had a blank face throughout the burial, though that facade would fall once in the security of his own office. Hinata was silent. Tears were like a constant stream down her face. She still couldn't believe that her mother was dead.
As she watched her mother's coffin placed into the ground Hinata hated the feeling of sorrow that was in her. Hinata looked down at Hanabi crying in her arms. Hinata didn't want to feel this much sorrow ever again. Hinata decided that from that day forth she wouldn't make any more bonds with other people. Bonds were just things that would hurt you when they break.
Hiashi had different thoughts as he watched the love of his life being lowered into the ground. He only had his daughters, his brother, and his nephew left. His father only owned that title in technicality. His father only spent time with him and his brother when teaching them Juuken, events he had to be in attendance, and when placing the caged bird seal on his brother and nephew. Not wanting to see anyone else in a coffin Hiashi increased security in the Hyuga Compound. A decision that proved to be smart when the cloud ninja tried to kidnap Hinata 3 months later. Thankfully, they were able to capture and not kill the culprits(So Hizashi was not killed and Neji never had a growing hatred for the main family).

After the Funeral
Naruto walked the streets of Konoha in deep thought. He had gotten curious when he saw a large group of people with eyes like Hitomi-sama walking through the village and went to ask the Hokage. Luckily the Hokage had been on one of his breaks so his work wasn't interrupted. When asked about the group of people with eyes like Hitomi-sama, the Hokage deflated slightly. Explaining what had happened the old Hokage saddened when seeing Naruto's reaction. While he hadn't known Hitomi long Naruto had been able to experience a feeling he had longed for all his life. The feeling of a mother who cares.
Walking down the street Naruto didn't even notice the glares being thrown at him from those passing by. He didn't care anyways. He had become numbed to glares over the past one and a half years on the street, not to say that they didn't hurt, but the death of Hitomi-sama hurt more. Seeing the Hyugas leaving the cemetery Naruto decided to go himself and pay his respects to Hitomi-sama.
As he found her grave he noticed how fancy it was and how many flowers were around it. Naruto could count the amount of people he found precious on one hand and she had made it to that list in the 3 hours she had talked with him at the hospital. Deciding he should honor her for being so nice to him he decided to get flowers for her too. He ran to a nearby flower shop and asked for 3 flowers that mean "to remember someone who died". One flower for each hour. Thankfully he had run into one of the many Yamanaka flower stores found around Konoha. While the clan had lost many lives in the Kyuubi attack they were able to tell jailor from jailed. Though that didn't mean they wanted business with the demon child. Still living up to their name, those behind the Counter provided Naruto with a beautiful trio of Gladiolus Flowers. Paying for the flowers Naruto thanked them and sped out the door.
Arriving at the grave Naruto placed the three flowers just under Hitomi's name and stared at the grave. Being regularly tormented by the village Naruto swore not to cry because it never did any good. Though, standing in front of Hitomi's grave, he couldn't stop the tears from leaking out.

Time Skip… 2 years later when they started the academy
Hinata arrived at the academy with her two guards and bowed to each of them thanking them for their work and then walked off to find her classroom. As she walked down the halls Hinata saw multiple children from ages 7-13 talking with each other. 'These Peasants talking about so freely and are so naive. How does Neji-ni-san put up with such people?' throughout the heiress. Once she found her classroom she entered and noticed that all the clan heiresses and heirs from all the major clans of Konoha were to be found. Not wanting to get caught up in conversation she made her way to the back and sat down in the upper left corner of the classroom.
Naruto was ecstatic, he would be starting the ninja academy today! He'd be taking his first step to becoming Hokage. As he entered the academy grounds he noticed the stares he was receiving from parents and heard the whisperings "What's the demon doing here?" "They're letting that monster become a ninja?!". While he had numbed over the years to comments such as these they still hurt a little. Not wanting to show that they got to him he smiled even wider and made his way to his classroom. On the way there he had walked into a class of 12 and 13 year olds by accident thinking it was his classroom. Before he could apologize they threw multiple pencils at him that he easily dodge and ended up embedding themselves in the door frame. Not wanting to cause anymore trouble, Naruto moved on but at a quicker pace. Just as the last bell was ringing Naruto zoomed into class. "Yes! Just made it!" Cheered Naruto.
While most of his classmates ignored him others had their sweat drop. Though Hinata recognized him, from where she couldn't remember but she didn't think about it hard knowing he was the village outcast and was always causing trouble. Deciding it'd be best to avoid interaction with him she tried to ignore him as best she could.
Trying to find a seat Naruto looked out upon his classmates. Many of the seats were already being taken. Seeing one available in one of the middle rows Naruto sat down next to a boy with jet black hair that reminded him of a goose's butt. Having no one else to talk to Naruto tried to make conversation with his new desk mate. "Hello, I'm Naruto Uzumaki, ya know! What's your name?" greeted Naruto, the boy turned to look at him and had a small smile "My name is Sasuke Uchiha, Son of the Uchiha clan head!". "What? Your dad is the clan head! That's so cool!" replied Naruto. Sasuke asked " who are your parents?". Naruto grimaced for a second and then calmly replied "I don't have any". This took the Uchiha boy by surprise. He had never thought about what it would be like to not have parents. "I'm sorry" said Sasuke hoping he didn't ruin a possible friendship, Naruto reassured him saying "It's okay". An awkward silence had started between the two and then Naruto broke it asking "Do you like ramen?". Happy to end the silence that had begun between them Sasuke gladly followed with the change in conversation. "I like ramen, it's okay, though I like Dango better". Naruto found this appalling, nothing was better than ramen to him. Though he wasn't about to allow his love for ramen ruin his chances at making a possible friend. "I don't know about that, though I don't know what dango is," said Naruto, now it was Sasuke's turn to be appalled. The idea of not knowing Dango was unimaginable to him. "How about after school you and I go to my favorite dango shop!" said Sasuke. Naruto was overjoyed that he had been able to make a friend and quickly accepted.
Iruka entered the classroom a few minutes after the final bell. Hoping to give the student a little more time to socialize. His co-teacher Mizuki sighed as another school year started. As Iruka entered the room he was happy to see most of his students laughing and talking with old and new found friends. Though this happiness was put on pause when he noticed the lonely Hyuga in the corner. Knowing it wasn't his place to try and fix that directly Iruka decided to start class. "Hello boys and girls, my name is Iruka-sensei and this is my co-teacher Mizuki-sensei. We look forward to teaching you and watching you grow into the next generation of Konoha. Now, we're going to go around the room and introduce ourselves. Say your name and something you like."
Starting from the bottom right corner and moving across and then up one by one the names of Naruto's classmates were said. "I'm Shikamaru Nara, and I like cloud watching" said the laziest boy Naruto had ever seen, following him was the fattest kid he had ever seen "My name is Choji Akimichi and I like barbeque". Everyone's sweat dropped at this comment. After a few more introductions from kids from civilian families and two girls named Sakura and Ino, it was Sasuke's turn. "My name is Sasuke Uchiha and I like spending time with my big brother", Iruka smiled at this. Many Uchihas were too proud and snobbish, but Itachi Uchiha was an exception, so if Sasuke spent time with him that might mean Sasuke didn't follow the fate of the rest of his clan. Up next was Naruto and he was shaking with energy "MY NAME IS NARUTO UZUMAKI, BELIEVE IT! I'M GOING TO BE HOKAGE!" announced Naruto. Iruka, and everyone else had covered their ears because of how loud Naruto was. Then recognizing the name Iruka remembered that Naruto was the jinchuuriki of the Nine Tailed Fox. While Iruka wasn't a jonin and didn't officially have privilege to that knowledge, it wasn't hard to put two and two together. While Iruka held great hatred towards the Fox he realized that Naruto was the biggest victim of that attack and felt sad for the boy.
Mizuki was outraged, while he didn't physically show his anger his mind was going haywire 'Not only am I forced to teach these whiney little brats instead of going on missions I have to teach the demon brat! How could they let it enter the academy?!
Moving on with the introductions the class made its way to the last person. "My name is Hinata Hyuga and I like flower pressing," Hinata said in a cold tone.
Silence fell upon the room with the young Hyuga's introduction. Iruka, trying to divert attention away from the cold Hyuga, told the class the basic rules of the classroom things like "don't talk when the teacher is talking", "keep your hands to yourself unless we're sparring" and other things of the sort. Naruto found this to be extremely boring and started to nod off because of it. Sasuke, noticing his new found friend fighting sleep, gave him an elbow to the ribs to wake him up. Naruto responded to Sasuke's elbow with a glare at the Uchiha who suddenly found great interest in Iruka's speech. Not wanting to start an argument Naruto returned his attention to Iruka-sensei. "So today we're going to start with the founding of Konoha '', hearing this, Naruto let his head fall into the desk. How was he going to become Hokage when all he did at school was learn history? Iruka noticed this lack of enthusiasm and decided to try and give Naruto some motivation. "Naruto", gaining the boy's attention Iruka continued "You know to be Hokage means you have to know about the history of the village and the world, that way you can learn from your successors and not make the same mistake they made. This is important stuff. What kind of Hokage would you be if you didn't even know how the village was founded?". This caught Naruto's attention 'He's right. What type of Hokage wouldn't know how the village was started? That's like a parent who didn't know where their child came from'. With this new motivation Naruto decided he should learn from Iruka-sensei's lesson rather than just blow it off.
Seeing the determination in Naruto's eyes Iruka smiled and continued with his lesson. All the while Mizuki stood to the side fuming that Iruka would encourage the demon brat to become Hokage.
The school day continued with many pauses in Iruka's lesson due to bathroom breaks or waking those who had fallen asleep. Naruto had fallen victim 3 times actually to Iruka's lecture, though he would apologize once he woke up. "You lecturers are just so boring Iruka-sensei, no offense" is what Naruto said after the third time he had been woken up. Iruka sighed at this comment. While he knew his lectures weren't the most entertaining it still was a hit to his ego when they were called out right boring.
Finally lunch came and everyone was let outside to eat and play until they had to go back to get ready for the entrance ceremony. Sasuke and Naruto had decided to take a spot under the tree with a swing. Naruto had brought a to-go ramen from Ichiraku's and Sasuke had rice balls with little octopus sausages(I don't know what they're actually called). All the while they chatted away, talking about what they like, what they dislike, and what Sasuke's clan was like. Naruto thought it was awesome that Sasuke had such a big family. As they talked they also realized they both love training. For Naruto that being physical training and some target practice with the few Kunai he had, and for Sasuke being training with his brother and father on target practice and taijutsu. Naruto asked if Sasuke could teach him that taijutsu the Uchiha used. Sasuke shook his head at this saying "Our taijutsu is meant to work with our sharingan so it wouldn't work for you, you need to find your own taijutsu style that works with your personality and physical abilities". Naruto wasn't disappointed he couldn't learn a taijutsu style but I understood why. 'Oh well, guess I just need to find another one that's even better than the Uchiha's style, Believe it!'.
Hinata didn't want to be roped into any conversations among her classmates, so she sat at a small table in the corner of the yard quietly eating. As she ate she watched her classmates talk with each other. As her eyes made their way across the yard they landed on a boy with bright yellow hair and whiskers adorning his cheeks. She couldn't remember when she had seen the boy before. Since she didn't have much else to occupy her time Hinata pondered on this for all of lunch and left the yard with no progress with remembering where she had seen him before.
##############################################################################
It was time for the entrance ceremony. While the kids had already had their first day of school this marked them as future shinobi of Konoha. As the kids lined up on the stage a crowd of parents sat before them. Many of Naruto's classmates smiled and waved to their parents and family while they waited for the Hokage to come make his speech.
Naruto watched this and wondered 'would my parents be this happy for me?'. While he never showed anything but a smile on the outside Naruto had shed a silent tear for his parents.
Hinata was not like the other kids in her class and held a blank face that starred out into the crowd. No one could tell what she was thinking, not even her own father who had grown worried about Hinata's change in personality after her mother's death. Her mask of neutrality would only break into a smile when playing with her sister or tears when she was in her room and didn't think anyone could hear. Hiashi wished she could make a friend or two but he had his days filled with clan business and couldn't try setting up an interaction between her and one of the children of the other clans.
Hanabi was so excited to see her sister on the stage. While most people saw Hinata as cold and distant, she was privileged to see the kind and fun side of the Hyuga heiress. Since Hanabi was still little she hadn't had the clan values be placed upon her so her face was full of emotion. Though she had started training in juuken and proved to be a prodigee. Now the elders were waiting for her to grow up so she could really train in the fighting style.
Hiruzen entered the schoolyard and slowly made his way to the podium. He smiled as he passed by many clan heads who bowed their heads in respect to him. As he reached the podium he took note of the new class having many promising looking students, though what he was most happy about was that Naruto had seemed to make a friend in a young Uchiha boy. Turning back to the crowd of parents Hiruzen started his speech that had been used for the many graduation ceremonies he had attended, "Hello parents of Konoha, I find great joy in welcoming your children into Konoha's ninja academy". This earned him a quick round of applause and then he continued after "they are about to start their training for the life of a shinobi. A thrilling, incredible, and horrible life. Here we will train them to be prepared for the challenges they face and hope to see them grow into fantastic shinobi that will inspire those of the future." With that the old Hokage bowed at the podium and made his way back to his office. As he did, the crowd burst into loud applause and cheered for the Hokage's speech. Children ran to their parents and gave big hugs as their parents talked of special treats in honor of such a big step in their lives.
Naruto stood there on the stage as he watched everyone run to their families. His smile lessened at the loneliness he felt. Since there wasn't anymore school for today he decided to head to his apartment, forgetting about the promise Sasuke had made. However, right as he was about to leave the school yard he heard "Hey Naruto, I thought we were going to get some dango!". Naruto smiled and turned around to face Sasuke and his brother Itachi. "You bet!". Sasuke ran up to Naruto and they started to walk off to Sasuke's favorite Dango shop. Itachi had watched the interaction with curiosity. His father and mother had to rush home due to some clan issues and asked him to watch Sasuke. Knowing full well of what Naruto was, Itachi was confused as to how people could mistake such an innocent, kind boy for the Kyuubi. Realizing the duo was about to leave without him he broke out his train of thought and went to catch up with the two boys.
Naruto like Itachi, he was kind to him and was really strong according to Sasuke. When Sasuke told him that Itachi was part of Anbu Naruto looked at Itachi with wide eyes. Naruto then inquired Itachi about all the secrets he knew thanks to being in Anbu. Itachi smiled and said he couldn't tell them because it's an A-class secret. However, Itachi did tell the two boys that on one mission he had to pretend to be a clown in a wandering circus. Naruto and Sasuke laughed at this trying to picture him in big shoes, make up , and with a big red nose.

9 months later…
It was November 23rd. An exciting day for the ninja academy students. It was the last day of school before winter break!(I'm having it winter break instead of summer break because I can't remember school happening in the winter in Konoha)Sasuke was so excited, he had plans with his family to go to some nearby mountains and do something called sledding!
Naruto was happy for his friend, though he would miss him. Over the last 9 months Naruto and Sasuke had become best friends and Naruto had never been happier. Naruto had tried dango and was able to experience what a home cook meal tastes like for the first time! He was also happy that he didn't have to run from as many mobs now and thanks to him being in the academy there were significantly less ninja when they rarely joined a mob.
A lot had happened in the nine months they had been going to the academy, Sasuke had gained a small fan club, the duo had become friends with Shikamaru and Choji, along with a boy named Kiba and Shino. Shisui Uchiha had gone missing too, known as a genius like Itachi and for his incomparable skill with the sharingan, and as best friend to Itachi. His disappearance was a mystery and many had suspected Itachi since he was the only other Uchiha in the Clan to be able to take down Shisui. Another thing that happened was that Naruto and Sasuke had discovered that Iruka-sensei was secretly a pervert. They had caught him reading a magazine with lots of half naked or completely naked ladies in it. Naruto and Sasuke had sworn that day to never become perverts themselves and punish those who had fallen to the perv side of the force.
Just as Iruka finished with his speech talking about how he'll see them after the winter months and look forward to teaching them again, screaming could be heard down the hall. Iruka stopped his speech to investigate the noise. The class had gone silent wanting to know what had caused such ruckus. After a minute Iruka returned from his investigation and gave the class a hard look. "Which one of you let frogs loose in class 1A?" Iruka demanded from the class. While Iruka was being very serious that didn't stop giggles from being let out from various places about the class. As Iruka searched his class for a possible culprit his eyes landed on Naruto. The boy was grabbing his side and covering his mouth with one hand as he tried to hold back his laughter. Sasuke too wass holding back his laugh though Iruka knew the boy would never pull such a prank.
Hinata had witnessed the whole scene with disgust. She couldn't understand Naruto's antics and thought of them as childish and rude.
"Naruto, I would like to see you in my office after school today. The rest of you enjoy your winter and remember to study and train!" Said Iruka. All but Naruto jumped for joy at this. Naruto tried using Puppy Dog eyes on Sasuke so he wouldn't have to suffer alone but Sasuke gave Naruto a smirk and said "you're on your own with this one". Naruto deflated from the lack of support from his friend and started trudging to Iruka-sensei's office. 'Serves you right' thought Hinata as she passed through the door and headed to the school entrance to be escorted home by her two guards.
Sasuke ran home, so excited to celebrate with his family. He was coming up on the Uchiha district and slowed down to catch his breath. While he may be top in the class no one beat Naruto in endurance. Walking down the road Sasuke started to whistle a little tune to himself set out for home. As he walked Sasuke noticed that no one was outside. And that there wasn't the usual bustle of the shopping district of the Uchiha Compound. Wondering where everybody was, Sasuke went to a nearby sweet shop that his Uncle ran with his wife. Upon entering Sasuke noticed how everything was a mess. The delicious displays of candy that filled the windows smashed on the floor along with the countless glass jars of candy shattered on the floor. Sasuke noticed a foot sticking behind the counter and went to investigate.
As Sasuke grew closer he started smelling something metallic. As he rounded the corner of the counter what Sasuke saw made him lose his lunch. His uncle and aunt had been slashed several times and were left laying in a puddle of crimson red blood. Sasuke shook his head in disbelief once he finished puking on the floor. He ran out the store and sprinted home. 'They have to be alright. Ni-san and Father are at home, they're strong' thought Sasuke.

Five hours prior
"My father can do no more. The Uchiha elders are planning a coup d'etat" Itachi informed the Hokage. Hiruzen stroke his beard and sighed, he looked for a peaceful solution in any issue but this situation did not allow for such ideals. As Hokage he worked to protect the village and needed to be sure Itachi realized what he must do. "Itachi, would you do anything to protect his village?" asked Hiruzen, trying to soften the blow of what he and the village elders had decided to do as a last resort to stop the Uchiha. "I would do anything to protect this village and its people" 'and her' replied Itachi. Hiruzen sighed and continued, "as Hokage I am forced to make difficult decisions and many hurt in more ways in one, but they are needed to protect the village...What I am about to ask you is something no one should be asked, but you are the only one who is capable of do it". Itachi frowned at this and asked "what do you wish me to do?", "The only solution I and my advisors came up with to deal with this problem is the… elimination of the Uchiha clan" answered Hiruzen with a heavy heart. He had just asked this boy to kill his family and many of his friends. Along with this Hiruzen knew that Itachi had a secret relationship and taking this mission would definitely end it. Itachi was still processing what the Hokage had just said, kill his family? Could he do that? It was only when Itachi realized that if he let the coup d'etat take place she and Sasuke would be at risk of being hurt. Steeling his nerves Itachi answered the Hokage's request "I'll do it". Hiruzen sighed at the turmoil that the 15 year-old boy infront of him was going through. "But, I will not kill Sasuke" Itachi said, Hiruzen smiled and replied "Sasuke is too young to know of such things and there will be no harm in sparing him, however he will grow to hate you" warned the old Hokage.
Itachi nodded his head and replied "I know he will hate me, but when he is old enough to understand, please tell him why I did it". Hiruzen accepted Itachi's request and told Itachi "You may want to go say goodbye to her before you leave, let her know it was not of your choice. Also, there is a mercenary group known as the akatsuki. I want you to join this group when you leave the village and find out as much as you can about their intentions. Jiraiya may have an incredible spy network but not even he knows much about them". Itachi nodded at this and left the Hokage's office. Hiruzen deflated a little and wished someone else would rise up to take the position, he was getting too old for dealing with such mental stress.
##############################################################################
Sasuke made it to his house and ran inside looking for his family shouting "Ka-san!" "Tou-san!" tears streaming down his face, Sasuke called out "Ni-san!". Sasuke made his way through the house looking for his family. When he opened the family room door he couldn't move from being in shock at the sight in front of him. His father was laying on the floor in a puddle of blood and his mother was lying on top of him with blood soaking into her clothes from where she had been stabbed. But that's not why Sasuke was in shock, standing behind the two bodies was the face of the person he thought the world of. To see him standing there with his blooding katana in hand almost made the Young Uchiha lose his breakfast too. In front of him stood his elder brother Itachi. Sasuke in anger screamed and charged at Itachi trying to make him pay for what he had done. Itachi, not wanting to endure any more pain sped to Sasuke and gave him a punch to the stomach to knock him out. As Sasuke fell to the floor he looked up at his brother and saw the tears in his eyes, all he could say before he lost consciousness was "why?". Itachi watched his brother fall to the floor and felt like a kunai had been stabbed through his heart when his brother asked why. With his work done Itachi left the village before the Hokage would send Anbu and went to find the Akatsuki. As he moved throughout the forest though he had looked back many times until he couldn't see the walls of Konoha anymore. He didn't know how long he would have to stay away from the place he called home, but he would do whatever he could to make sure this organization didn't hurt those who he loved.
