Reconnecting.
Chapter 17. Friday Night Dinner Part 2.
"I'm just saying that it wasn't your place to tell them." Rory told them.
"We couldn't just not tell them, we didn't want to pretend like nothing every time we saw them." Emily told her.
"You should at least have asked me and Logan if it was okey that you told them." Rory told her honestly.
"I just don't understand what the big deal is, we thought they would be happy for you two." Emily told them.
Now Logan decided it was his time to say something.
"My parents happy for me and Rory? They have never approved of my relationship with Rory, both you and Richard know that. My dad is the reason why Rory took a year of from Yale." Logan told them while also starting to get upset.
"That was years ago." Emily said.
Now that was enough for Lorelai.
"Mom, the hell that Mitchum and Shira put both Logan and Rory through. It's not something you get past just by a couple of years." Lorelai told Emily while looking at Rory and Logan.
"Let's just end this conversation right now, your grandmother and I know we shouldn't have told Shira and Mitchum. We're sorry Rory, Logan." Richard told them honestly.
"Thank you grandpa and to be honest Logan and I didn't really know if we should have told them or not, considering how both Shira and Mitchum felt about our relationship in the past." Rory told Richard.
3,5 hours later Logan, Rory, Christopher and Lorelai had left Emily and Richard's place and were on their way home.
"That's was a bit intense." Lorelai told the others in the car.
"Well what can I say? It's grandma." Rory said.
"I thought it felt like old times." Logan told them.
"A night filled with drama." Christopher said.
40 minutes later they arrived outside the house. When they got out of the car, Logan grabbed Rory's hand and they walked into the house together.
"We should discuss how we should do about where we should live." Logan told her while sitting down at the kitchen table.
"Yeah we should, what do you want to do?" Rory asked him while taking out two glasses.
"Hey kiddo, your mom and I are going to bed." Christopher told her.
"Goodnight dad, see you tomorrow." Rory told him while hugging him.
"Night Christopher." Logan said.
"I actually have a suggestion." Logan told her while drinking from the glass.
"Oh? I'm curious." Rory told him while sitting down.
"Well hear me out okey? I think we should do six months in Chicago and six months in London." Logan suggested to her.
"So in that way, you can work with your work in Chicago and fly back to London if there is a crisis and I can do the same." Rory told him.
"So we have finally reached an agreement?" Logan asked her acting surprised.
"Yes we have and this way we don't have to have a long distance relationship." Rory answered him while standing up from the chair and kissed him on his mouth.
"Hmm ace, have I told you how lucky I am to have you back in my life again." Logan asked her while kissing her back on her mouth.
"Well you have told me multiple times and you have also shown me how happy you are." Rory told him while smiling.
"Well I'm very happy." Logan told her while pulling her down on to his lap.
"So I was thinking that we could stay here for two more days and then we should get back to Chicago or London, where ever you want to go first." Rory told him while laying her head on his shoulder.
"I think we should go to Chicago first and get things in order, should we spend our first six months in London?" Logan asked her while kissing her on the top of her head.
"I think it's a great idea, we should spend a few days in Chicago just so I can get my things packed up and I'm thinking of renting out my apartment." Rory answered him.
"But when you have to fly in for emergencies at work?" Logan asked her.
"I can always stay at a hotel." Rory answered him.
"That would work, you would just be in Chicago just for a few days depending on the emergencies at work?" Logan told her.
"Hopefully it will just be a few days when and if I get called back." Rory told him while kissing him again.
"We should go to bed, it's 22.30 and we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow." Logan told her.
"Yeah we should go to bed, it's been a long day today." Rory told him while getting up from his lap.
Logan stood up from the chair, grabbed Rory's hand and they walked into the bedroom, got undressed and went to sleep.
The next morning.
When Rory woke up, she saw Logan were still sleeping so she gently got up from the bed, wrapped her robe around her and walked out from the bedroom and into the kitchen. When she entered the kitchen, she took a glimpse at the watch and saw it were only 07.30 in the morning. So she decided to make herself a cup of coffee and go and sit outside on the porch.
She walked out from the house and sat down.
"What a beautiful morning, the sun is out and the birds are singing." Rory thought to herself.
20 minutes she was interrupted by Babette, whom had also woken up early and had seen Rory sitting on the porch.
"Good morning doll, what brings you up this early?" Babette asked her while walking over.
"I just have a lot on my mind and I've missed these Stars Hollow mornings." Rory answered her honestly.
"Well the mornings here are beautiful. I heard you and that Logan kid are back together again." Babette told her.
"Yes we are, it feels weird and amazing at the same time." Rory told her while drinking from her coffee cup.
"I think it great that you're back together, I always liked you two together." Babette told her.
