Chapter 24. First Real Day Back.
The next morning. Logan lied in the bed, watching Rory sleep. He finally realized how lucky he was, having her in his life again. The moment he never thought would happen again. Suddenly Rory woke up.
"Are you laying there watching me sleep huh?" Rory asked him groggy.
"What? I can't help that you are so beautiful to look at?" Logan answered her with a smile.
"Well I am beautiful, no wonder you love me so much." Rory said while smiling.
"You know me, you are the most beautiful that I have ever seen. You mean the world to me, you know that." Logan told her while kissing her on her mouth.
"How long have you been awake?"Rory asked him while touching his cheek.
"About 45 minutes." Logan answered her honestly.
"And you didn't wake me?" Rory asked him while sitting up in the bed.
"I didn't want to wake you ace." Logan answered her honestly.
"Next time you wake me okey?" Rory asked him while looking at him.
"I promise I'll wake you next time." Logan promised her.
"What time is it?" Rory asked him.
"It's 07.30 and we should leave for the office around 09.00. Logan answered her while getting up from the bed.
They both got up from the bed and started to get dressed. Before getting dressed, Rory walked into the bathroom to wash her face and to put some light makeup on her face.
"Ace, what do you say about getting breakfast at my absolute favorite restaurant?" Logan asked
"Sounds great, is it far from here?" Rory answered him while walking back into the bedroom.
"5-10 minutes from here."Logan told her while grabbing his portfolio with his laptop in and some important documents.
"I'm just gonna find some to wear and then we'll leave."Rory said while starting to look through her boxes.
10 minutes later they walked out from the apartment, holding each other's hands.
"Got everything ace?" Logan asked her while locking the door.
"Yes, laptop, phone, glasses. That's everything." Rory answered him.
"Great, let's go. I have to warn you this place is amazing but it's not your beloved Luke's."Logan told her while pushing the elevator button.
"I think I can manage." Rory told him while smiling.
Another ten minutes later they arrived outside the restaurant called "Wayne's Place."
"Well here it is." Logan said while opening the door.
"It looks so cozy." Rory told him while walking inside.
They sat down by one of the tables. A few seconds later a waitress came over.
"Welcome to Wayne's Place, how can I help you?" The waitress asked.
"I'll have pancakes with syrup and bacon, and cup of coffee maxim." Logan answered her.
"And you miss?" The waitress asked Rory.
"I'll have the same. Rory answered her.
"I will be back in a few minutes with your orders." The waitress told them.
"Did you see the way she looked at you?" Rory asked Logan.
"We kind of have a history together." Logan answered her honestly.
"History, what kind of history?" Rory asked him while not trying to get jealous.
"We slept together a few times a few years ago. It's nothing to be concerned about, it's history." Logan answered her honestly.
"I know, I don't have any right to get jealous about it. We both have things that happened during the last couple of years." Rory told him while grabbing his hand.
"I love you, you know that." Logan told her while kissing her hand.
"And I love you too."Rory told him.
A few minutes the same waitress came back carrying their food. 30 minutes later they left the restaurant and went straight to Logan's office. When they arrived at the office, they were greeted by Logan's assistant Harry.
"Welcome back boss."Harry greeted him while handing him some files.
"Thanks Harry, btw this is my girlfriend Rory Gilmore and she will be working from here for a while. It would be great if you could help her out." Logan greeted Harry back.
"Of course boss, nice to meet you ." Harry said.
"It's nice to meet you too Harry and please call me Rory." Rory told him.
After Rory and Logan had gotten settled into Logan's office, he was called of to his first meeting back.
"I'll try not to be long, I promise ace." Logan told her while kissing her on the cheek.
"It's fine, go. I'll wait here."Rory told him.
After Logan had left. Rory sat down by his desk.
"His office is so big and has a great view." Rory thought to herself.
Suddenly Harry walked into the office.
" is there anything I can get you?"Harry asked.
"I told you to call me Rory and if you don't mind I'd like a cup of coffee." Rory answered him.
"Just a regular coffee?"Harry asked her.
"Regular coffee sound great. Rory answered him.
Just as Harry was leaving, Rory stopped him.
"You know what, I'll come with you. That way you can maybe show me around if you don't mind." Rory asked Harry.
"I don't mind at all."Harry answered her.
They walked out from the office and walked towards the pantry.
"So how long have you worked for Logan?"Rory asked him.
"He hired me just after he joined the company."Harry answered her while pouring the coffee into a cup.
"Do you like working for him?"Rory asked him.
"I couldn't imagine working any where else."Harry answered her.
After Harry had shown her around the building, they had walked back to Logan's office.
"Thanks so much for the tour, btw do you know when Logan's meeting ends?" Rory asked him.
"Let me check."Harry answered her while walking over to his desk and tapped on his computer.
"According to this the meeting ends in 25 minutes."Harry told her.
"Thanks." Rory told him.
Rory walked into the office again, took up her phone and messaged Finn.
"How are things?"~ Rory.
"It's great, me and Colin have been talking and spending time together."~ Finn.
"I'm glad to hear that Finny, we have to meet up soon again."~ Rory.
"We really should, btw how are things going in London?"~ Finn.
"It's going great, it's just much to adjust to."~ Rory.
"How are things between you two?"~ Finn.
"It's great, I couldn't be more happy."~ Rory.
"I'm glad to hear that. You haven't heard any thing from the dark lord?"~ Finn.
"Nope and I'm glad, to be honest I wouldn't be here at the company if he was here in London."~ Rory.
"I can understand you."~ Finn.
"Any plans to come to London soon?"~ Rory.
"Not right now, but probably soon."~ Finn.
"Well give me a call when you decide to come?"~ Rory.
"I promise love, give my best to Logan?"~Finn.
"I will and you give my love to Steph?"~ Rory.
"I will love, talk to soon."Finn.
After Rory had put her phone down, she opened her laptop and began typing.
15 minutes later
"Sorry for taking so long ace."Logan told her while walking over and kissed her on her mouth.
"It's fine babe, I've been busy, Harry has been showing me around the building."Rory told him.
"I'm glad you have been busy, by the way mom called me earlier." Logan told her while sitting down on the chair in front of the desk.
"Oh? What did she want?"Rory asked him while getting up from the chair.
"Apparently dad has had a stroke and they had to put him in a medical coma."Logan answered her while placing his hands in front of his face.
"I'm sorry baby, do you want us to go back to Hartford?"Rory asked him while placing her hands on his shoulders.
"I don't know ace, it would be the best but I can't ask you to do that considering how mom feels about you. I don't what her to attack you again.."Logan answered her honestly while beginning to tear up.
"You are not asking me, because I'm not letting you go through this alone. We can leave tomorrow."Rory told him while kissing him on his cheek.
"Even though dad and I haven't had the best relationship but I can't lose him Rory."Logan told her while crying.
"Logan, he's strong, he will pull through."Rory told him while grabbing his hands.
Will Mitchum pull through? How's Shira holding up?
