Chapter 26. Still At The Hospital
Two and a half weeks later, Mitchum's condition was still in a medical coma. Logan had spent all his time in Mitchum's hospital room. Every time that Rory had tried to get him out from the room, he had just claimed that he couldn't leave and made all kinds of excuses. He had grown more and more distant and worried about his dad.
"I'll be right back babe."Rory told him while kissing him on his cheek.
"Mm."Logan said.
Rory walked out from the hospital room and dialed Finn. A few seconds later Finn answered his phone.
"Everything okey love?"Finn answered his phone.
"Nothing new has happened.. It just that I might need your help Finn.."Rory told him.
"What's up love? Logan okey?"Finn asked her.
"Other than he won't leave Mitchum's side, he won't talk to me." Rory answered him while pushing the elevator button.
"He is probably just worried sick about Mitchum."Finn told her honestly.
"I'm just worried about him Finn, I feel helpless. There just nothing I can do for him."Rory told him while stepping out from the elevator and walked towards the cafeteria.
"What can I help you with love?" Finn asked her.
"Maybe you and Colin can come over here and talk to him?"Rory answered him.
"I'll call Colin and we will be over in two hours."Finn told her.
"I really appreciate it Finny, maybe this will help him."Rory thanked him.
"It's nothing love, we'd love to help."Finn told her while hanging up the phone.
Rory sat down by one of the tables. Suddenly Honor walked up behind her.
"Are you okey Rory?"Honor asked her while joining her.
"No, not really. I'm worried about Logan. This wasn't what I had imagined when we moved to London."Rory answered her honestly.
"This is the way he works, when he gets worried or don't know he just shuts down."Honor told her.
"I know, I just wished that he would talk to me."Rory told her while beginning to cry.
"I wish he would talk to me too, all we can do right now is just give him time."Honor told her while grabbing her hand.
"Yeah, I'm just giving this one last try, I have called in the cavalry."Rory told Honor.
"Don't tell me you called the boys?"Honor asked her with a smile.
"Yes I called Finn and Colin, they will be here in two hours."Rory answered her.
"I'm glad, if anyone can get through to Logan it is those two."Honor told her.
About 15 minutes later Honor and Rory decided to go back upstairs. When they walked towards Mitchum's room, Rory saw her grandparents standing outside the room talking with Shira. Rory walked up to them.
"Grandma, Grandpa. When did you get here?"Rory asked them while hugging them both.
"About 45 minutes ago. We just knew we should have come earlier."Emily answered Rory.
"I'm glad to see you both, but I need to go in and be with Logan."Rory told them.
"That's fine Rory, we'll say goodbye before we leave."Richard told her.
Rory walked into the room and saw Logan sitting by the bed holding Mitchum's hand.
She walked up to him, placed her hands on his shoulders.
"Any changes?"Rory asked him.
"A nurse was in here a while ago and just took a few tests."Logan answered her simply.
"Did they say anything about Mitchum's condition?"Rory asked him.
"Not exactly."Logan answered her.
Two hours later Finn and Colin arrived at the hospital, Rory had decided to meet them in the lobby.
"Finny,Colin. I can't tell you how thankful I am for you two coming."Rory told them while hugging them both.
"It's nothing love, now where is he?"Finn asked her while kissing her on the cheek.
"He's upstairs, he hasn't left Mitchum's bedside since we got here."Rory answered Finn.
"What about all that has to be done in London, not only with your work but with Logan's too?"Colin asked her.
"I'm handing the important stuff at the company and my work."Rory answered him while they were walking towards the elevators.
A few minutes later they stopped outside the hospital room. They walked into the room.
"How are you doing Huntz?"Finn asked him while walking towards him."
"I'm okey, considering."Logan answered him.
"I'll let you guys talk, can I get you guys coffee?"Rory asked them.
"Sure Ror, coffee sounds great."Colin answered her.
Rory walked out from the hospital room and let the boys talk alone for a while.
"So you know she's worried about you right?"Finn asked Logan while sitting down.
"Yeah I know, you know how I get when I get worried or down. I just shut down."Logan answered him.
"We know how you get, you two just have to talk to each other. You have to talk to her, let her know how you are feeling and dealing with."Colin told him.
"I don't like being emotional, I'm just afraid of losing my father."Logan told them honestly.
"Man, you should really tell Rory about this."Colin told him while looking at him.
"I agree with Colin, you should talk with Rory, she's afraid that you are shutting her out."Finn told Logan.
"I should talk to her, it isn't nice of me to just shut her out."Logan told them while running his hand through his hair.
About thirty minutes later, Rory walked back into the room and saw the boys were still talking. As she walked past Logan, he stopped her, grabbed her hand and pulled her into his lap.
"I'm sorry."Logan whispered into her ear.
"We'll talk later."Rory whispered back.
"I was just telling Logan that we should do another LDB event soon again."Finn told Rory.
"That sounds like a great idea, I assume I'm invited?"Rory asked them while smiling.
"Well of course reporter girl, it wouldn't be the same without you."Colin answered her.
"I can't tell you guys enough how great it is that you have figured everything out."Rory told them honestly.
Fifteen minutes later, they decided to call it a day. They said goodbye to each other. Finn and Rory promised each other they would talk later. After the boys had left, Rory and Logan looked at each other.
"Rory, I'm sorry for shutting you out."Logan told her.
"It's nothing I understand what you are going through Logan. I just wish you would talk to me."Rory told him while touching his cheek.
"Yeah, I know I should talk to you because I don't want you to feel like you don't mean anything to me because you do. It's just me."Logan told her honestly while leaning against her shoulder.
"I'm here for you no matter what, it's me and you no matter what happens. Because I love you so much and I don't ever want to lose you."Rory told him while kissing him on his mouth.
Suddenly Mitchum's machines started beeping. Logan almost ran over to the bed, he pushed the emergency nurse button. Seconds later a group of nurses and doctors came running in to the room.
"What happened?"A nurse asked them.
"The machines just started beeping."Logan answered them while beginning to cry.
Rory grabbed Logan's hand. After a while the nurses, turned around facing Logan and Rory.
"What's wrong?"Logan asked them panicked.
"Your father is on his way out of his coma, he might wake up in an hour or a couple of days."A nurse answered him.
Things are looking good for Mitchum right?
Will he and Logan reconnect?
