Chapter 27. Finally Good News.
After three days, Mitchum had finally woken up. The first thing that he had said as soon as he had woken up had been "What is all the fuss about?"
Shira had filled him in about what had happened.
"You had a massive stroke and you have been in a coma for almost three weeks."Shira told him.
"We thought we had lost you dad."Logan told Mitchum while grabbing his hand.
"You're not getting rid of me that easily son."Mitchum told him while looking at Rory.
"Don't dare scare us like that again dad."Honor told Mitchum while kissing him on his cheek.
"I'm surprised that you came here Rory. After everything I've done to you."Mitchum told Rory.
"I wouldn't be any where else and I think that's in the past."Rory told him.
"I'm sorry for the way that I treated you over the years."Mitchum apologized to Rory.
A while later Mitchum asked to speak with Logan and Rory alone.
"I never got the chance to tell you how proud I am of you Logan. It might not seem that way but I'm truly proud of you."Mitchum told Logan honestly.
"I always thought you did all those things to me because you weren't proud of me and I was letting you down."Logan told him honestly.
"You have never let me down, I've always been proud of you even though I haven't shown it."Mitchum told Logan.
"What did the doctors have to say earlier?"Rory asked Mitchum while grabbing Logan's hand.
"They said that I have to slow down and absolutely no more work."Mitchum answered her honestly.
"You have to slow down, we can't go through this again dad."Logan begged him while beginning to cry.
The doctors wanted to keep Mitchum for observation for a few more days just to monitor everything. For the first time in almost three weeks, Logan left the hospital room and walked outside.
"I can't thank you enough Ace, for being here with me."Logan thanked her.
"You don't have to thank me Logan, I would not have been anywhere else."Rory told him while hugging him.
"We should discuss what we should do next, either we stay here or we go home."Logan told her while sitting down on a bench.
"It's up to you Logan, if you want to stay then we stay."Rory answered him while joining him.
"I don't really know anymore Rory, sure it would be nice going home but at the same time I feel like we should stay here."Logan told her while looking at her.
"We can stay here, you need to be with your family."Rory told him while grabbing his hand.
"I couldn't have done this without you."Logan told her while kissing her on cheek.
They sat outside the hospital for another hour just talking.
"I still can't believe that you called Finn and Colin, but it helped me realize that I was shutting you out and I shouldn't have done that to you."Logan told her honestly.
"You have been dealing with a lot these last two weeks and I understand why you shut me out but I'm here with you all the way no matter what. Because I love you Logan Huntzberger."Rory told him honestly.
"I love you too Rory."Logan told her while kissing her on mouth.
A while later Rory and Logan walked back into the hospital, they walked into Mitchum's hospital room. When they walked into the room, they saw Mitchum sitting up in his bed, talking to Honor.
"How are you feeling Mitchum?"Rory asked Mitchum while sitting down beside Honor.
"I'm feeling better, I'm looking forward to get out of here."Mitchum answered her.
"Well the doctors has to clear you first dad, and then you can get out of here."Honor told Mitchum while looking at him.
"I agree with Honor, you have to wait to get cleared by the doctor."Logan told Mitchum.
"I know, we have to talk later Logan."Mitchum told Logan.
"By the way, where is mom?"Logan asked them.
"She said since I'm awake, she had to go to one of her DAR meetings. She claimed she had to make an appearance again."Mitchum answered him honestly.
"Are you kidding me dad? She shouldn't have left you here."Logan told him while feeling his anger rising.
"I have to be honest, our marriage haven't been the best lately."Mitchum told them honestly.
"Maybe you two should take a break from each other?"Logan asked Mitchum
"We've tried that, I'm considering getting a divorce."Mitchum answered him.
A while later Honor excused herself to call and check in with Josh. Rory and Logan stayed with Mitchum.
"Are you sure that you want to divorce mom?"Logan asked Mitchum.
"I'm sure, we almost never see each other anymore. I'm pretty sure that she's having an affair."Mitchum answered him.
"Can't you try talking to her?"Rory asked Mitchum.
"I can always try."Mitchum answered her.
Rory excused herself and walked outside from the room and dialed her mom's number. A few seconds later Lorelai answered.
"Well as I live and breathe, Rory Gilmore. I thought you had forgotten about us."Lorelai answered the phone.
"I have been busy mom, we've been dealing with a lot here."Rory told Lorelai while sitting down on the closest chair.
"How's Mitchum doing? And more importantly how's Logan?"Lorelai asked her.
"He's finally awake and talking, he actually apologized to me about what has happened in the past."Rory answered her.
"Your kidding me? He actually apologized to you?"Lorelai asked her surprised.
"He actually did, I couldn't believe it at first but.I'm glad we finally came to this."Rory answered her.
"And Logan? How is he doing?"Lorelai asked her.
"He's better then the last two weeks, he's been really down. If it wasn't for Colin and Finn, Logan wouldn't have realized that he was shutting me out."Rory answered her.
"Have you discussed what you will do next?"Lorelai asked her.
"It's all up to Logan, if he wants to stay then we stay. I told him that he need to be with his family."Rory answered her.
"I have to go but I'll call you later kiddo."Lorelai told her.
"Say hey to dad for me?"Rory told her while ending the call.
After ending the call, Rory walked back into the room finding Logan sleeping on the couch.
Mitchum shushed her and motioned her to come over.
"He fell asleep about 20 minutes later ago. I didn't want to wake him."Mitchum told her while looking at her.
"This is first time in three weeks that I've actually seen him sleep."Rory told him honestly while sitting down on a chair.
"I can't believe that he spent almost three weeks here, after everything that has happened between us."Mitchum told her honestly.
"He is your son and you're his father, he cares about you no matter what has happened between you."Rory told Mitchum while looking at Logan.
Will Mitchum be discharged from the hospital soon?
Will Mitchum and Shira get a divorce?
Will Logan and Rory stay?
