Chapter 32. News To Share.
Two days later Rory had been dredging to tell her mom and dad about her decision. It wasn't that she regretted it but she knew her parents and they knew how much she had worked to get were she was. But finally Rory decided to tell them.
"Hey mom, how is everything?"~Rory.
"Everything is great, aren't I the one who should be asking you that?"~Lorelai.
"Umm, I actually have some news.."~ Rory.
"Don't tell me that you're pregnant?"~Lorelai.
"God no, it's way to early for that. I've decided to join Logan at his company."~Rory.
"WHAT? You are giving up your position at your company to join your boyfriend's company instead?"~Lorelei.
"Yes I have, me and Logan will work as parents. He will still be the president and I will become Vice President."~Rory.
"Oh Rory, after everything you've worked for.. What if things don't work out between you and Logan, what will you do then?"~Lorelei.
"Things are better than ever between me and Logan, it won't end. I need a new beginning, a new adventure."~Rory.
"Just consider the possibility that it won't last between you two. Then what will you do?"~Lorelei.
"Mom, look I love you and I know you care but this is mine and Logan's decision. Either you support me or you don't."Rory.
"I don't know kiddo, I wish you wouldn't give up what you've worked for."Lorelei.
"We only decided this a few days ago, we felt like this was right to do."~Rory.
"I just hope that you won't regret this later but I support your decision."~Lorelai.
"I'm glad that I have your support mom, and I won't regret this."~ Rory.
"Even if I support you doesn't mean that your dad does."~ Lorelai.
"I know mom, maybe you can talk to him?"~Rory.
"I'll talk to him when he get's back home."~Lorelai.
"Right he's on one of his business trip, where is he this time?"~ Rory.
"Umm London. He arrived today."~ Lorelai.
"Why didn't you two tell me?"~Rory.
"I don't know Ror, but call him."~Lorelai.
"I will do that, talk to you later mom."~Rory.
Rory put down her phone again and sighed.
"I take it that Lorelai didn't take the news as you hoped."Logan asked her while handing her a cup of coffee.
"Actually she supports me but that dad is a whole different story and apparently he's in London."Rory answered him.
"What is he doing in London?"Logan asked her while sitting down beside her.
"According to mom, he's here on a business trip but why he didn't tell me, I don't understand."Rory answered him.
"Maybe he wanted it to be a surprise?"Logan asked her while grabbing her hand.
"Yeah but why hasn't he called yet though?"Rory asked while placing her head on Logan's shoulder.
"I think you should message him Ace."Logan suggested to her.
"I'll do that, by the way what's Mitchum doing?"Rory asked him while looking at him.
"I don't really know, I think he's sitting on the balcony."Logan answered her.
"You go check on your father and I'll start on lunch."Rory suggested.
"Great idea, love you."Logan told her while kissing her on the mouth.
"Love you too."Rory told him back.
Logan walked out from the kitchen and went to check on Mitchum. Logan found him sitting out on the balcony.
"You all right dad?"Logan asked Mitchum while walking out on the balcony.
"I'm just tired so I thought I should sit out here for a while."Mitchum answered him honestly.
"When did you last take your medication?"Logan asked him while taking a seat on the chair that stood across Mitchum.
"I'm not meant to take it for another 2 hours."Mitchum answered him.
"Do you want something to drink?"Logan asked him hoping he'd say yes.
"I would like something cold to drink."Mitchum answered him.
"I'll be right back. Is lemonade okey?"Logan asked.
"Lemonade is fine, thank you."Mitchum thanked him.
Logan walked inside again and walked towards the kitchen, he suddenly stopped when he hear Rory's raised voice.
"What do you mean it's a mistake? I want to do this with Logan." Rory yelled.
Logan walked into the kitchen and saw Rory crying as she threw her phone on the table. Logan rushed over to her, so that he would be able to comfort her.
"Sweetie, what's wrong?"Logan asked her concerned.
"It's just my dad, he thinks me joining you at your company is a huge mistake, apparently the biggest I've ever done."Rory answered him while crying.
"This is not a mistake, there is nothing in the world that I'm more certain of."Logan told her while wrapping his arms around her.
"He told me that he that he would not support me."Rory told him while crying even more.
"Ace, he will come to his senses, I'm sure of it. He's your father."Logan told her reassuringly.
"He can be really stubborn sometimes, I just thought that he of all people would support me."Rory told him.
"Everything will be fine, just give him space. If me and my dad can get along then so can you and Christopher."Logan told her while kissing her on forehead.
"I love you."Rory told him simply.
"I love you so much and I'll be here every single step."Logan told her while looking into her eyes and really meaning it.
A few minutes later both Rory and Logan walked out on the balcony and joined Mitchum.
"Shouldn't you two be getting back to work soon?"Mitchum asked them both while drinking from his glass.
"In the next couple of days, we need to talk with our lawyers and get all the papers signed before this amazing woman becomes my partner."Logan answered Mitchum while looking over at Rory.
"Stop it, you're making me blush."Rory told him while giggling.
"I'm glad that the two of you have agreed to both run the company together, it's just what the company needs."Mitchum told them both honestly.
"I'm glad someone is happy for us."Rory said sadly.
"What about your parents Rory? Aren't they happy for you?"Mitchum asked her.
"Mom claims she is, but dad is a whole different story."Rory answered him.
