Chapter 38. Family Part I.
Three days later Rory and Logan decided to end their honeymoon and return to Hartford, to meet up with Honor and the others.
"Rory, are you sure that you are okey with us ending our honeymoon earlier?"Logan asked Rory while sitting down on the bed.
"Of course I am okey with it, it is for family. Besides these last few days has been the best days in years."Rory answered him while walking over to him.
"I just wish us going back will help dad in some way, I can't lose him."Logan told Rory while not trying to cry.
"Hey, we won't lose him. We just need to show him that we care about him."Rory told him.
"I love you."Logan told Rory while kissing her on her mouth.
"And I love you Logan."Rory told her while kissing him back.
"I promise will make this up to you Rory."Logan promised her.
"There is nothing you have to make up for, you have given me so much."Rory told him while pulling her hand through his hair.
"What did I ever do to deserve someone like you?"Logan asked.
"Well let put it this way, once I saw you that first time in Yale, I knew I was gonna fall in love with you."Rory answered him while smiling.
"I thought you thought I was annoying and spoiled."Logan asked her with a teasing smile.
"Well at first sight yes but I always knew there was something special about you."Rory answered him honestly.
"Well I always knew there was something special about you too."Logan told Rory while kissing her on her mouth.
An hour later Rory and Logan boarded the plane home. As they were waited for the plane to take of, Logan kept staring at his phone.
"He will be fine babe."Rory told him reassuring.
"Yeah, you are probably right Ace."Logan simply said.
Rory grabbed her phone and texted Finn.
"Hey Finn, we're landing in about one and a half hours. Do you mind meeting up with us at the airport?" ~ Rory.
"Hey, sure thing love. By the way how is Logan holding up?" Finn.
"He's okey considering that Mitchum is refusing to take his medicine."~ Rory.
"It's tough but we are here for you, always. Btw how is the little bean doing?"Finn.
" Thanks Finny, the little bean is doing great, I've made an appointment for a checkup."~ Rory.
"How are you handling everything love? How are you feeling about cutting the honeymoon short?"~ Finn.
"Actually I don't mind cutting the honeymoon short, these last few days has been amazing. It couldn't have been better."~ Rory.
"You're taking care of him right? We don't want him going back to the place he was in last time, Mitchum was sick." ~ Finn.
"Of course I'm taking care of him, I'm doing everything to prevent him from going back into that hole again."~ Rory.
"I know love, we all have to pitch in to help both you and Logan. Give my best to Logan and we will see you at the airport."~ Finn.
"See you soon Finny."~ Rory.
Rory laid down her phone and looked over to Logan, whom was leaning back against the seat.
"Are you okey Logan?"Rory asked him while putting her hand on his.
"Yeah I guess, this is just hard. We shouldn't have left him."Logan told her while trying not to cry.
"Hey you do not get to blame yourself for this, you hear me? You could not have know that this would happen."Rory told him while looking into his eyes.
"I know it's not my fault, it just feels like if we had stayed?"Logan asked her while beginning to cry.
"Oh Logan, we couldn't have known this would have happen. It could have happened even if we had stayed." Rory answered him while grabbing his hand tightly.
Around two hours later they landed in Connecticut. When they walked into the airport, they were meet by Finn and Rosemary.
"Hey guys." Rosemary greeted them while hugging Logan.
"What are you guys doing here?"Logan asked them surprised.
"Well your lovely wife here texted me and asked us to meet you here."Finn answered Logan while hugging Rory.
"I'm glad you guys are here."Logan told them.
"We should get going, we need to get to the hospital."Rory said.
"Well let's go, I'll drive."Finn told them while grabbing Rory's bag.
As Finn, Rory and Rosemary began walking towards the exit, Logan slowed down.
Rory noticed Logan slowing down, and she walked back to him.
"Hey babe, you okey?"Rory asked him while grabbing his hand.
"Umm I don't really know to be honest. I thought dad was doing better."Logan answered her honestly.
"I know babe, but I am here for you no matter what happens, we both are."Rory told Logan while placing her hand on her stomach.
"I know Ace, I love you."Logan told her.
A few minutes later they all got in to Finn's car and began driving to the hospital.
"How are the little bean?"Rosemary asked Rory.
"The little bean are good, I'm just a little sick of the morning sickness."Rory answered her while touching her stomach.
"Are you gonna find out the gender?"Rosemary asked her.
"We haven't really talked about it."Rory asked her while looking at Logan.
They arrived at the hospital about 30 minutes later. While Finn were parking the car, the other three walked into the hospital.
"Honor said that Mitchum is in room 307."Rory told them.
"I'll wait here for Finn, you guys go up."Rosemary told them.
Rory and Logan walked towards the elevators. Rory pushed the elevator button.
"Logan, I love you and you can always talk to me."Rory told him while holding Logan hand.
"I love you to."Logan told her.
When the elevator stopped at the fifth floor, they walked out and started looking for Mitchum's room. It only took them a few minutes until they found it, when they did, they saw Honor standing outside waiting for them.
"Oh Logan."Honor cried while hugging Logan.
"How is he?"Logan asked Honor while hugging her back.
"He's fine for now."Honor answered him.
"What does the doctors say?"Rory asked Honor while hugging her.
"They're saying that he since he hasn't been taking his medicine, his condition has gotten worse."Honor answered her.
"How is his blood pressure?"Logan asked Honor.
"Still through the roof, if he doesn't manage to calm down or does something radical, then there is a big chance he will have another heart attack worse then the other."Honor answered him honestly.
"This is not happening again."Logan said to himself.
"Babe, nothing will happen."Rory told Logan while grabbing his hand.
They walked into Mitchum's hospital room.
"Please don't tell me that you cut your honeymoon short because of this."Mitchum asked them while he tried to sit up.
"Yes we did Mitchum, it didn't feel right for us to be on our honeymoon knowing you were here in the hospital."Rory told him while kissing him on his cheek.
"How are you feeling dad?" Logan asked Mitchum while sitting down on the chair beside the bed.
"I'm okay I guess."Mitchum answered him simply.
"I just have to ask, why have you stopped taking your medicine? And when did you stop?"Logan asked Mitchum.
"I stopped a few weeks ago."Mitchum answered him.
"Why would you do that dad?"Logan asked while not trying to cry.
"I just don't see the point anymore."Mitchum answered him.
"But if you don't take your medicine, then you just risk having another heart attack."Rory told Mitchum while putting her hands on Logans shoulders.
"I risk another heart attack even if take my medicine. I just don't see the point anymore."Mitchum answered Rory.
"But dad, you have to take your medicine. I don't want to lose you dad."Logan told Mitchum while beginning to cry.
"You won't lose me Logan, but even if you do it will only mean that it is my time."Mitchum told Logan while placing his hand on Logans.
Will Mitchum pull through this? How will Logan deal with this?
