At the Police Precinct's rooftop...
The bat signal was shining its light at the sky with Gordon holding a cigarette while waiting for Batman/Johnny.
After a few minutes of waiting, Batman/Johnny and Robin arrived.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Enjoying the view?
GORDON: Hard to do these days. Sometimes I ask myself about what the hell I'm gonna do. These psychopaths are everywhere these days.
ROBIN: Uh... you know those things could kill you, right? Have you tried consider quitting?
GORDON: (*chuckle) Now you sound like my daughter, Barbara.
Gordon coughed a little which concerned Batman/Johnny and Robin. He threw away the cigarette and turned off the Bat signal.
GORDON: It's a good thing you two are here.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: What have you got on Riddler?
GORDON: Well we already that he's been kidnapping hostages for a few months now and just earlier tonight my men informed me that monsters have been missing lately.
ROBIN: Riddler is making a big move on us. Do you have any leads on their whereabouts?
GORDON: I've already sent my officers into patrol to find the missing hostages and the Riddler but still no confirmation.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: If you find Riddler, tell your men not to engage. Me and Robin can take him down.
Gordon's walkie-talkie became active. He walked towards to a less crowded area leaving Batman/Johnny and Robin some time to talk.
ROBIN: What do you think?
BATMAN/JOHNNY: (*sigh) Right now our main objective is securing the hostages, after that we're dealing with Riddler.
ROBIN: Good call. The quicker we find Riddler and the missing monsters, the better we clean up this mess.
Later on, Gordon came back to Batman/Johnny and Robin almost in panic.
GORDON: Damn it! My officers may have found Riddler but he's taken more hostages at the hospital with his armed men! We can't waste any time much longer!
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Don't divert any of your men, Gordon. Me and Robin can handle Riddler.
GORDON: I'll assemble all available officers I can! We'll meet you there!
Gordon quickly went back inside the precinct while both Batman and Robin used their grappling gun heading their way to the hospital, to the Riddler.
At the hospital...
There were 4 armed Riddler goons guarding the entrance in case the police arrived to stop them. Batman/Johnny and Robin hid behind the shadows trying to figure out how to take them out.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Robin, stay here while I find a way to take out Riddler's goons. We'll take them down faster if we work together.
ROBIN: When do I join in?
BATMAN/JOHNNY: You'll know when you see it.
Batman/Johnny crouched down sneaking behind the two thugs unnoticed right before he performed a double takedown the goons unconscious. This alerted the other two goons as they aimed their guns at Batman/Johnny but Robin was able to drop in as he used his Bo Staff to knock down the two thugs.
ROBIN: (*chuckle) You sure took your time back there.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: I was testing your self-control.
ROBIN: Oh really? Did I pass?
BATMAN/JOHNNY: A little more practice can help it. Let's go find Riddler.
With that said, Batman/Johnny and Robin entered the hospital and rescue the hostages.
Inside the hospital was the hostages, nurses, doctors, and patients, all tied up while the heavily armed goons were guarding their every move. Also with them was the Riddler, wearing a green suit, purple necktie, purples mask, black gloves, a green hat with a little yellow question mark on it, and lastly he was holding question mark-shaped hook cane. He was just standing there waiting for the dynamic duo to arrive. Speaking of the dynamic duo,
Batman/Johnny and Robin entered the room only to be stopped by the armed goons aiming their guns at them.
HOSTAGE 1: It's Batman and Robin! They're going to save us!
HOSTAGE 2: Thank god! This will all be over!
GOON: Look out! Batman and Robin are here!
The thugs aimed their guns at the dynamic duo when the Riddler joined in.
RIDDLER: Batman! You're ahead of schedule. I can see also brought your little helper to assist you. I'm a little busy right now, but I'll see if I can fit you two in.
Two of Riddler's men aimed their guns at Batman/Johnny and Robin but Riddler stopped them.
RIDDLER: Not them, the hostage. Shoot the hostages!
The two thugs quickly aimed their guns at the hostages ready to end their lives. Batman/Johnny quickly grabbed one of his new gadgets, The Remote Claw, from his Utility Belt to disarm the hostages.
The Remote Claw is a gadget which allows Batman/Johnny to target two objects, pull them together, including enemies; it can also launch objects at enemies, or string up enemies or objects.
Batman/Johnny fired the Remote Claw at one of the thugs and pulled them together hitting each other as they fell to ground while Batman/Johnny and Robin performed ground takedowns to incapacitate the thugs.
RIDDLER: Ooh, that is one nice trick you've got there, Batman. But it won't save you from what I am about to do to you and the precious hostages. Now you idiots do your job that I hired you for!
GOON: We're gonna make you scream, Batman!
The goons pulled out their weapons and charged towards Batman/Johnny and Robin to attack them but at this point, they should've known better than just attacking them.
Batman/Johnny dodged the goon's knife attacks until he grabbed the goon's arm and used his blades on his gauntlet to break the knife and broke the goon's arm knocking him out.
Two more goons charged towards Batman/Johnny to attack him but Batman/Johnny was fast enough to grab both their face and slammed their heads to the ground.
Batman/Johnny threw Batarangs at the other goons tripping them to the ground and fired his Remote Electrical Charge at one the thugs electrifying him. Batman/Johnny grabbed a nearby thug and threw back to Robin as a Duel Takedown.
ROBIN: Thought you never asked!
Robin knocked out the thug by using his Bo Staff and began attacking more other thugs just like Batman/Johnny. He used his Zip Kick gun to propelled him over to a thug and kicked him right on the chest sending to the opposite direction.
Another thug pulled out his gun at Robin but he was quickly able to extend his Bo Staff into a Ballistic Shield to defend himself and slammed it towards the thug before performing a Ground Takedown.
Robin grabbed another goon and threw it back to Batman/Johnny for another Duel Takedown.
ROBIN: One bad guy coming up, Batman!
Batman/Johnny brutally slammed the thug's body to the ground.
Batman/Johnny activated his Shock Gloves to beat up the thugs while Robin used his Bo Staff to help him beat up thugs.
As soon as the goons were almost defeated, Gordon and the his police officers arrived to detain the thugs.
GORDON: POLICE! HANDS WHERE WE CAN SEE THEM!
POLICE OFFICER: Get down on the ground! DOWN ON THE GROUND NOW!
All the police handcuffed the weakened thugs while Riddler ran off with a hostage up on the roof.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Robin, stay here with Gordon and make sure the hostages are safe.
ROBIN: Wait, what are you gonna do?
BATMAN/JOHNNY: I'm going after Riddler. He's not getting away on my watch.
Batman/Johnny got to the rooftop where he sees the tied up hostage and an irked Riddler.
RIDDLER: How is that possible!? That's CHEATING!
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Think I care about your rules?
RIDDLER: I heard you're a man who followed a code. How could you let those dirtbags live!? All they do is to kill innocent lives everyday.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Because I'm no killer and I believe in justice. You'll be spending your life behind bars with your henchmen soon.
RIDDLER: (*laughs) Your naïveté is just embarrassing. "I believe in Justice!" You should be concentrating on saving yourself instead.
Batman/Johnny quickly charged towards the Riddler and jumped high as he manages to land a powerful punch on his face with blood coming out from his mouth. An enraged Riddler tried to swing his question mark hook cane at Batman/Johnny as it was sharp enough to cut human flesh but was fast enough to dodge it.
Riddler swings his cane again but this time Batman/Johnny blocked the attack with his gauntlet. Batman/Johnny held Riddler's cane and gave him a headbutt right on the nose and a roundhouse kick that sent him on the ground.
Batman/Johnny breathes heavily while Riddler got back up on his feet.
RIDDLER: ENOUGH OF THIS!
Riddler grab the hostage and walked towards the edge of the building as the hostage screamed in horror. He pushed a button on his cane which turned that the hook on it served as grappling hook.
RIDDLER: You know how to scrap, I'll give you that. But it's not enough. Let's see you do with something a little more... cerebral.
Riddler grabbed a machinery box and threw to Batman before he pushed the hostage and grappled up to another building making his escape.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: NO!
RIDDLER: Better hurry, Detective. Solve my puzzle soon, or people are gonna get hurt. We both know you won't allow that to happen.
Batman/Johnny quickly jumped at the edge of the building to save the screaming hostage. Still falling in an incredible velocity, Batman/Johnny managed to grab the hostage and fired his grappling gun and propelled themselves back up on the rooftop.
As they safely reached back on the roof, Batman/Johnny untied the hostage.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Are you okay?
HOSTAGE: Still shaken, but I'll managed. Thank you, Batman.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Good to know. Head back downstairs to safety. The police are already there and the thugs are taken care of.
The hostage went back downstairs to Gordon and the police while Batman/Johnny stayed behind. Something that caught his attention. The box that Riddler gave to him. Batman/Johnny examined the machine closely but couldn't tell how it works.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: What are you playing, Riddler?
Both Batman/Johnny, Robin, and Gordon regrouped outside the hospital where the cops are detaining the thugs and the paramedics are taking care of the hostages.
GORDON: Riddler's goons in custody, not a bad result. All told.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Are the hostages alright?
GORDON: They're fine. Paramedics are already looking at it now but...
BATMAN/JOHNNY: But what?
ROBIN: It turns out that Riddler rounded up a few hostages before we got here. Must've been his backup plan.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: (*sigh) Damn it. How many were they?
GORDON: Riddler took 6 hostages, doctors and nurses. That bastard slipped through our hands. What about you? Didn't you chased after him? What happened back there?
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Riddler got away but he gave me this puzzle.
Batman showed the box to Gordon that Riddler gave him earlier.
GORDON: Now what the hell is that thing?
BATMAN/JOHNNY: I don't know yet, but he said I have to solve it or people will get hurt.
GORDON: Well whatever that thing is, you better get on it.
A Police Officer then came up to Commisoner Gordon as he turned his back on Batman/Johnny and Robin.
POLICE OFFICER: Commissioner, the thugs are ready for transport.
GORDON: That's good to know, officer. I'll be there with you shortly, officer. All right Batman, I need you to...
As Gordon went back to the dynamic duo, they were already gone.
GORDON: (*sigh) Sure. Leave before I finish. Pff, that never gets old.
At the old Cartwright house/Alfred's house...
Underneath the house was where the Batcave is located. Batman/Johnny and Robin soon arrived with the Batmobile through the secret entrance.
As they exited the car, they can hear the bats screeching everywhere but they weren't bothered. Johnny and Richard took off their masks except their suits and began working on the puzzle box.
RICHARD: Any idea what this is, Johnny?
JOHNNY: There are circuity inside but nothing obviously dangerous. The Batcomputer will be able to analyze it further.
The Batcomputer began analyzing the puzzle box and the result showed that no sign of threat occurred.
JOHNNY: No explosives detected. No radioactivity. Nothing dangerous at all, so far.
RICHARD: Take a closer look at the puzzle box. It looks like it has something to attach on to with it. What's that for?
JOHNNY: Hmph... I'm not sure what it is yet, but whatever this is could help us find the hostages.
They continued studying the puzzle box but Johnny's phone suddenly rang. He grabbed the phone to see who was calling him.
JOHNNY: It's Mavis. I better take this.
Johnny went somewhere else in the cave where he was all alone while Richard examines the machine.
JOHNNY: Hello.
MAVIS: Hi, Johnny. Where are you? I haven't seen you in the hotel. I'm a little worried.
JOHNNY: I'm alright, Mavy. I just bump into Richard and we talked for a little that's all. I thought you were already asleep.
MAVIS: I'm not actually. It's just me, Dennis, and Tinkles watching Cakie on TV. Mom and Dad are already asleep in their room.
JOHNNY: Don't worry. I'll be home soon. Me and Richard are just finishing up on something.
MAVIS: Okay. Just be careful coming home. I love you.
JOHNNY: Love you too, bye.
Johnny ended the call and continued working on the Riddler case. When Johnny turns around, he saw Richard with a teasing smile on his face watching the couple talked over on the phone.
Richard snapped back in reality as he worked on the mysterious machinery. Johnny just glared at him while Richard smirked.
RICHARD: Don't worry, I didn't hear a thing.
Minutes shortly, they decided to call it a night with Johnny coming back home to the hotel and Richard coming back home with his parents.
