Chapter 39. Family, Part II.
A few days later Mitchum was still in the hospital, the doctor wanted to run more tests. Logan hadn't left Mitchum's side since Logan and Rory arrived at the hospital. And that was starting to worry Rory.
"Babe, is there anything I can get you?"Rory asked Logan while placing her hands on Logan's shoulders.
"Maybe just some coffee."Logan answered her shortly.
"You need to eat something Logan."Rory told Logan.
"I know ace, I'm just not that hungry."Logan said.
"What do you say about us going outside for some fresh air? Honor can sit with Mitchum."Rory asked Logan.
"I don't know Rory."Logan answered her.
"Go with Rory, Logan. You need to get some air."Mitchum told them while sitting up in bed.
"Are you sure dad? I don't want to leave you."Logan asked Mitchum.
"Yes I am, there is nothing here that you can do son."Mitchum answered Logan.
"Fine, we will be back in 15 minutes okey dad?"Logan told Mitchum while standing up from the chair.
Rory and Logan walked out from Mitchum's hospital room and towards the elevators.
"Babe, how are you feeling?"Rory asked Logan concerned.
"I'm worried about dad ace."Logan answered Rory while walking into the elevator.
"Believe me Logan, so am I."Rory told Logan while pushing the button down to the lobby.
A few minutes later they walked out from the hospital and walked over to a coffee cart.
"One black coffee and one decaf coffee."Logan ordered.
While Logan was ordering the coffee, Rory pulled out her phone from her pocket. She saw she had a text from Lorelai.
"Hey kid, how are Mitchum doing?" ~ Lorelai.
"He's doing better I guess, but I don't really know about Logan. He's starting to shut down like he did last time, Mitchum was in the hospital." ~Rory.
"Oh, have you tried talking to him? By the way how is the baby doing?" ~ Lorelai.
"Yeah, I have tried talking to him, but it's no use. When he gets like that, there is not much anyone can do." ~ Rory.
"All you can do is to be there for him Rory, it's hard for him right now." ~ Lorelai.
"I know mom."~ Rory.
"By the way how is the baby doing? Have you had your check up yet?"~ Lorelai.
"No not yet, I've been busy since we got back. I haven't gotten around to it yet, I know I have to." ~ Rory.
"You have to get checked out, considering the complications I had with you, they said it could be pass down in generations." ~ Lorelai.
"I know mom, I will do it soon." ~ Rory.
"There is a chance that your condition can risk your pregnancy." ~ Lorelai.
"I have an appointment later today."~ Rory.
"Are you gonna tell Logan? He should know."~ Lorelai.
"Yes I will tell him, I just don't know how."~Rory.
Rory laid down her phone in her pocket again and turned to Logan.
"Have you heard anything from your mother?"Rory asked Logan.
"No I haven't."Logan answered her simply.
"Babe, I know this is hard for you. But you know that I am here for you."Rory told Logan while touching his hand.
A few minutes later Rory and Logan walked back into the hospital. When they were walking back towards Mitchum's hospital room they could see Finn talking to Honor. They walked up to them.
"Finny, what are you doing here?"Rory asked Finn while hugging him.
"Well I thought I would drop by to check in on how Mitchum's doing."Finn answered her while hugging her back.
"It's great to see you, I've missed you."Rory told him while letting go of him.
"I've missed you too love, how is Mitchum doing?"Finn asked them.
"Well apparently he has stopped taking his medicine and his blood pressure is higher than before."Rory answered him while looking at Logan.
"I'll be in with dad."Logan excused himself while walking into Mitchum's room.
After Logan had walked away, Rory sat down on the closest chair.
"How are you feeling love?"Finn asked her while sitting down beside her.
"It is tough, he is pushing me away and I don't know don't know what to about it."Rory answered him while stating to cry.
"I know it's hard on both of you, but all you can do for him is to be there for him."Finn told her calmly.
"I don't even know what to say to him, there is a chance there can be complications with my pregnancy. My mom had huge complications with me and it's a chance that I have it to."Rory told him while crying even more.
"Oh love, I'm sorry, is there anything I can do?"Finn asked her while grabbing her hand.
"I don't know, I have to tell Logan but I just don't know how and I don't want to be a burden. He is dealing with so much already."Rory answered him while wiping her tears.
"Don't you have an appointment today?" Finn asked her.
"Yeah I do, should I tell Logan?"Rory said.
"I think you should, he might not be able to take it in but at least you have to tell him."Finn suggested to her.
"Yeah you're right, but if he won't come, will you come with me?"Rory asked him.
"Of course love, let me just call my girlfriend."Finn answered her.
"Say hello for me?"Rory asked.
"Of course love."Finn answered her.
While Finn were calling Rosemary, Rory walked into Mitchum's room. Just as she walked in Mitchum and Logan stopped talking.
"Am I interrupting anything?"Rory asked them.
"No Rory, it's fine."Mitchum answered her honestly.
"How are you feeling Mitchum?"Rory asked Mitchum.
"I'm feeling horrible, I'm just tired."Mitchum answered her.
"Umm Logan, can I talk to you?"Rory asked Logan carefully.
"What is it?"Logan answered her a little annoyed.
"I have my first real check up in a couple of hours and I am wondering if you can come with me?"Rory asked him while trying not to cry.
"I don't know Rory, I think I need to stay here."Logan answered her.
"Fine, I will ask Finn to come. I'm really trying here Logan, but you shutting me out is not okey. And you missing our baby's first check up, I promised you to stay here, but I can't stay strong every time."Rory told him angrily while running out from the room.
Once she was out of the room, she leaned forward and tried to take deep breaths, realizing she had just scolded at Logan. All these feelings she had kept bottled up for so many days.
"Rory? Are you okey?"Finn asked her while quickly walking up to her.
"No I am not, I just scolded Logan. He said no to coming with me. And I'm tired off trying to be strong all the time." Rory answered him while crying.
"I am coming with you as long as you want me to."Finn told her.
"I really appreciate it Finn."Rory thanked him.
"Do you want me to talk to him?" Finn asked her.
"Honestly I don't think that you will be able to get through to him, since I his wife can't."Rory answered him honestly.
"Maybe you're right love."Finn told her.
A few seconds later Rory stood up again.
"We should get going, I have my appointment in like 15 minutes. I managed to get an appointment here." Rory told Finn while beginning to walk.
They walked towards the elevators and went up to the 5th floor. Just a few minutes after they had sat down in the waiting area, a nurse called her name.
"Rory Gilmore Huntzberger."The nurse called.
"That's me."Rory said while standing up.
"If you'd follow me this way, will be with you shortly."The nurse told them.
They walked in to the examination room, and the nurse handed Rory a gown and told her to change into it. The nurse took Rory's information and then the nurse left.
"How are you feeling love?"Finn asked Rory while sitting down beside her.
"I'm doing okey I suppose. I just wish that Logan would be here, but he is just shutting me out."Rory answered him honestly.
"He's just dealing with a lot love, you know how he gets when it comes to his family or when he is dealing with a lot."Finn told her.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door and in came .
"Hello -Huntzberger, I'm doctor Hart." introduced herself.
"Please call me Rory."Rory insisted.
"Is this the father?" asked.
"No, I'm just a friend, the father couldn't make it today."Finn answered .
"Shall we get started then?" asked them.
"Yes please."Rory answered.
"How long ago did you find out that you were pregnant?" asked."
"About 3 weeks ago."Rory answered.
"It looks like you're about 12 weeks pregnant." informed Rory.
"Wow 12 weeks already." Rory said.
"Everything looks great, are there any diseases in the family that you are aware of?" asked Rory.
"My mother had type 2 diabetes when she was pregnant with me and that put both her and me in danger. Is there any chance of me getting it?"Rory answered .
"There is a chance but we will of course keep an eye on both you and your baby." reassured her.
"I really appreciate it."Rory said.
"I think while you're here, we should schedule another appointment." told her.
"I actually live in London, but we're here in the states because of a family emergency."Rory told .
"I understand, but we should schedule an appointment, but if you return to London before that I will contact a college in London and discuss your case with her." told Rory.
How will this affect Rory's pregnancy and will she tell Logan? And will Mitchum get better soon?
Sorry for taking so long to update but I've been really busy with school lately.
