The party was suddenly interpreted when a person was forced to step on the stage to grab everyone's attention. Both Dracula and Martha, still on the ceiling, noticed that all the guests stopped dancing in confusion.
MARTHA: What's going on down there?
DRACULA: I don't know. I'll go check it out.
MARTHA: I'm coming with you, honey.
Dracula turned into his bat form to find out what was going on while Martha also turned into her bat form with her husband.
Once Dracula and Martha landed on the ground and changed back into their human form, they saw the person standing on the stage.
A hint of panic and fear slowly began to form on Dracula's face and the rest of the guests. The person's mouth was covered in duck tape with a bomb strapped around his neck. A phone was also tapped around the person's right hand and a note on his chest that says 'To THe BaTMaN'. A green question mark paint can be seen behind this person.
It was that moment they knew that this person was one of the Riddler's hostages (doctor). The hostage was also scared for his life and tried to scream but the duck tape on his mouth prevented it.
All of the guests began to scream in panic and running for their lives.
MAVIS: Johnny, what's happening?
JOHNNY: Riddler.
Johnny thought to himself. He also had that angry look on his face, mostly because of Riddler endangering his family on a peaceful night.
Dennis quickly ran towards to Mavis and Johnny and hugged his mother out of fear. Mavis hugged her son back in order to calm him down.
DENNIS: Mommy, daddy, Why is everyone getting scared?
MAVIS: I don't know, sweetie. Just stay close to me and daddy. Everything is going to be okay.
JOHNNY: Mavis, I need you and Dennis to get somewhere safe. I don't want you getting near on that stage!
MAVIS: But what about that human over there? We could at least call for help or something.
JOHNNY: We can find a way to help him, just get yourself and Dennis to safety! I'll call for help.
While Mavis carried Dennis away from a safer distance, Alfred quickly went up to Johnny.
ALFRED: Johnathan, Riddler's attack is getting far more worse! You have to do something!
JOHNNY: Just don't let anyone get near to that hostage! I'm calling in Gordon!
Without anyone watching his movements, Johnny exited the ballroom to call for help. He was walking through the hallway when he grabbed his phone to call Gordon. Johnny also scrambled the audio to disguise his voice.
JOHNNY: Gordon, I've found one of Riddler's hostages with a neck bomb on it. He's not going to last much longer from the looks of it.
GORDON: Oh god, that doesn't sound good! Where are you?
JOHNNY: Hotel Transylvania, you better hurry! There are a lot of innocent lives at risk here. I don't want to let anything bad happen to them.
GORDON: There's a squad on the way. I'll be there shortly.
The call shortly ended while Johnny called in the Batmobile.
JOHNNY: There's no telling how much time I have left before Riddler detonates the bomb. I better get hurry to the Batmobile and change into my Batsuit. Everyone is in danger to whatever sick game Riddler is playing.
Johnny shortly arrived outside the hotel just in time for the Batmobile arrived its destination. Johnny opened the trunk of his car where it contained his armored Batsuit. Luckily, no one was there to watch him change into the Batman.
Back inside the Ballroom...
Dracula, Martha, Mavis, Dennis, Frank, Eunice, Wayne, Wanda, Winnie, Murray, Griffin, Hank, Pedro, Wendy, Sophie, Charlotte, Vlad, Lydia, Gene, Klaus, Alfred and the rest of the guests stayed behind at the corner of the room away from the threat while the armored knights made sure that guests stayed behind for their safety and finding a way to save the poor hostage.
KLAUS: What are we going to do!? We're all going to die!
Lydia roared at the scared Klaus with her eyes raging on fire.
LYDIA: KLAUS!!! Calm yourself down! Your annoyance is not helping the situation at hand!
KLAUS: Y...Yes, Aunt Lydia.
WENDY: Daddy, I'm scared!
Wendy hugged her father, Bob, out of fear.
WAYNE: Oh, man! Drac, any idea on how we can stop this?! All of the guests are panicking!
DRACULA: I don't know, Wayne! Just get behind with everyone else until help arrives! Johnny has already called the police! They'll be here shortly.
MARTHA: Drac, I don't like this.
DRACULA: Don't worry, Martha. I won't let anything bad happen to anyone else here. Just get behind with Mavis and Dennis. I don't want any of you getting hurt.
LYDIA: This is getting out of hand! Who knows how much time we've got left before that thing will explode!
PEDRO: (*scream) WHERE IN THE GOBLINS IS THE BATMAN!?
When Hope was starting to fade away, Batman/Johnny arrived by smashing through the window as his entrance.
All of the guests went speechless after witnessing The Dark Knight's entrance but majority of them eased their fear knowing that Batman/Johnny was there to save the day/night.
HANK: It's Batman! He.. he's going to save us!
CHARLOTTE: (*sigh in relief) Hooray! Batman's here!
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Riddler! Show yourself!
The phone on the hostage's hand turned on and there it appeared Riddler. The phone was also connected to the speakers in the room so that Batman/Johnny can hear him talk.
RIDDLER: I'm right here! Well, figuratively speaking anyway. Disappointed I didn't choose to meet up in person?
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Turn yourself in, while you still have the chance!
RIDDLER: Don't say stupid things, okay? Not when you've just started earning my respect. I'm trying to get a handle on you, Batman. At first, I always wonder why The Joker was so obsessed with you, but now I see why: you always care for the little things. You care to much on protecting humans and monsters instead of finishing the job that is why I'm always five steps ahead of you. You are so pathetic!
BATMAN/JOHNNY: I protect them from scumbags like you. It's what makes me a hero. I'll do whatever it takes to take you down.
RIDDLER: Says the man who is completely underneath my foot. Now here's how this works, Dark Knight. If you managed to answer all my riddles correctly, you save the hostage. Simple as that. If you get them wrong, then the ignorant doctor's head goes... BOOM! Try anything smart such as removing the bomb out of his neck, it'll explode anyway.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: You're insane!
RIDDLER: No, that would imply either mental illness or derangement. I have suffered from neither. Oh, and yes, I can see you, Batman. I look forward to watching you fail. Let's see if the monsters could still see you as their 'hero' after this.
Back to guests, Mavis went towards to Dracula. She was also scared on what's about to happen.
MAVIS: Do... do you think Batman can stop that bomb from exploding?
DRACULA: I don't know, Mavy. But right now, I hope this could end without anyone getting hurt.
The Riddler began his first riddle for Batman to answer.
RIDDLER: Now for your first riddle, Batman: We are your five little items of an everyday sort; you'll find us all in 'a tennis court'. What am I?
Batman/Johnny carefully studied the riddle carefully in order to keep the hostage safe. Some of the guests though that answer can be found at the hotel's tennis court.
GENE: What are we waiting for? Let's go to the hotel's tennis court and find whatever that 'Riddle-guy' is looking for!
BATMAN/JOHNNY: No. There's nothing useful there. Riddler isn't implying anything that can be found there.
GRIFFIN: If the answer isn't in the tennis court, then where is it?
BATMAN/JOHNNY: He already gave me the answer: A tEnnIs cOUrt. The answer is VOWELS!
RIDDLER: Very good, Batman! You solved one of the easiest riddles. Keep this up and maybe you'll save a life tonight.
DRACULA: Batman! Whatever you do, just keep answering his riddles! It's the only way for keeping everyone safe.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: I'll do my best, just keep the hotel guests behind and away from us. I'll deal with Riddler.
RIDDLER: And now for your riddle no. 2: It can be cruel, poetic, or blind. But when it's denied, it is your violence you may find. Do you what I am, Detective?
MAVIS: Batman, If you know the answer, just say it! Please!
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Justice. The answer is Justice.
RIDDLER: Correct again, Batman. You're almost there to claim your price!
Before Riddler could go on to finish his last riddle for Batman/Johnny, Gordon and his police officers finally arrived at the hotel, which made all the guests calm down a little now that this chaos can end.
GORDON: Batman, we came as soon as we can when we heard about the Riddler!
RIDDLER: You have to be kidding me! You have call in Gordon, don't you?!
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Gordon, I need you to get the guests out of harms way and don't let them get back in here until I've disarmed Riddler' bomb!
RIDDLER: Not so fast, Batman! I've got you all exactly where I want you to be. If Gordon and his officers gets involved, then you better say goodbye to the soon-to-be dead doctor. I want the monsters to watch their Dark Knight fail them.
Batman/Johnny clenched his teeth and fist in anger due to the fact that the Riddler would detonate the bomb if they lead the hostages to safety. Riddler wanted to humiliate him in front of the monsters and Gordon.
RIDDLER: And now for the final riddle for the bat who claims himself in believing at the word 'Justice'. So tell me, Batman. If you are Justice, please do not lie. What is the price for your blind eye? I guess we'll find out soon...
Riddler stated his final riddle for Batman/Johnny. One correct answer as everyone will be saved.
RIDDLER: Riddler me this, Batman. What is black and blue, and dead all over?
Dracula, Martha, Mavis and everyone else inside the ballroom were getting anxious about the possibility of Batman/Johnny getting the wrong answer that detonate bomb. The hostage was sweating in fear begging for his life. After a few seconds, Batman/Johnny finally answered.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: The Batman
Riddler went silenced for a while still thinking about Batman/Johnny's answer. Riddler pressed a button on his cane, which made the bomb around the hostage's neck detached and fell on the ground.
FRANK: He did it. BATMAN SAVED US!!!
VLAD: (*sigh in relief) I'm glad that's over.
The monsters cheered in victory now that the bomb is disarmed and Batman/Johnny saving them all from the Riddler's sick game.
Batman/Johnny quickly went up to the stage for the hostage's aid as he removed the tape on his mouth and the phone from his hand.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Stay calm. You're safe now.
HOSTAGE: Thank you, Batman! I thought I wasn't going to make it!
As Batman/Johnny held the phone, noticed that Riddler was still on the call.
RIDDLER: Congratulations, Batman. You've saved an innocent life. But don't feel too good about it just yet, you still have 5 more to save.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: One way or another, I'm shutting you down.
RIDDLER: (*chuckle) I doubt that you would succeed. I kept thinking to myself a question that you can never answer "yes" to? The correct answer is "are you DEAD?"!
The call ended when neck bomb on the floor began to tick fast every second.
HOSTAGE: Batman, the bomb!
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Damn it! EVERYBODY GET BACK NOW!
Everyone in ballroom panic once again when they learned that the bomb was still active. Batman/Johnny quickly grabbed the bomb and threw outside the window he crashed in early.
The bomb exploded so loud that everyone ducked down and covered their heads from the blast radius for their safety. Luckily, no one was gotten hurt.
DRACULA: Martha, Mavis, Dennisovich? Are you alright?
MARTHA: We're okay, honey.
MAVIS: Same over here, dad. Me and Dennis are alright.
DENNIS: Batman saved us, Papa Drac!
Dracula tightly hugged Martha, Mavis, and Dennis and thankful that they didn't get hurt. Batman/Johnny watched the vampires hugging and released a sigh of relief that his family and the other monsters are safe.
GORDON: That evil son of a... he played us!
BATMAN/JOHNNY: He was gonna detonate the bomb either way. This is getting worse than I expected. We have to find Riddler before this kind of attack happens again.
All of the monsters inside the ballroom were now resting after the Riddler's attempt attack failed. The police also checked if the monsters were okay and luckily they had no serious injuries or whatsoever.
Dracula was walking around the room making sure that none of his hotel guests had gotten hurt. He then stumbled across Martha, Mavis, and Dennis.
DRACULA: How are you doing, Martha?
MARTHA: We're doing ok, Drac. Just a little shaken from what just happened but... yeah. We're ok.
DRACULA: Ok, that's good to hear but... hang on, where's Johnny?
MAVIS: He said he went out and called for help. I still don't why it's taking him too long to get back here. I'm a little worried.
DRACULA: Don't worry, Mavis. I'm sure he'll be back soon. You three just rest here while I check on the guests.
MARTHA: I'm coming with you, honey.
MAVIS: Me too, dad.
DENNIS: I wanna come with Mommy.
MAVIS: Oh, Dennis. I'm afraid you can't come with us, sweetie. This is grown up stuff. Why don't you go check on Winnie if she's okay?
DENNIS: Ok, Mommy.
Dennis went over to Winnie and her parents, Wayne and Wanda, while Dracula, Martha, and Mavis checked on the guests.
Commissioner Gordon was questioning the hostage about the events that occurred earlier tonight. Gordon was also accompanied by Dracula, Martha, and Mavis, since it was Dracula's responsibly about the safety of the hotel.
GORDON: Alright, could you at least tell me how you got here?
HOSTAGE: I... I don't know exactly what happened. All I know is that I woke up on a van with the bomb on my neck. The Riddler told me to get inside to the hotel or he'll detonate the bomb. I... I didn't mean to scare everybody... I swear.
The hostage cried for mercy out of fear, especially in front of Dracula. He thought that the legendary Prince of Darkness would suck all of his blood for causing all the trouble. Dracula notices this but he has no interest on hurting the human.
DRACULA: (*sigh) You don't have to be afraid of me. We believe that you're telling the truth.
MARTHA: You can relax. My husband won't drain all of your blood. Not when I'm around.
Martha held Dracula's hand as her husband let out a chuckle. This helped the hostage calm and releasing a sigh of relief.
GORDON: I'm really sorry about what happened to everyone tonight, Sir. Dracula. I can assure you that we won't let this happen again.
DRACULA: Thank you, Commissioner. We truly appreciate the service.
GORDON: With the help of Batman, we could hopefully catch that psycho.
Gordon continued questioning the hostage.
GORDON: Did the Riddler told you anything about something? It can be a lead on finding him.
HOSTAGE: Yeah. He told me to give this to Batman. I don't know what it does.
The hostage grabbed a device that the Riddler gave him and then handed over Gordon. The machine was trophy in the shape of a green question mark and it had a note that says 'To THe BaTMaN' on it.
GORDON: Any of this mean anything to you?
As Gordon examines this Riddler Trophy, Batman/Johnny slowly walked in with a menacing dark look on his face.
Dracula, Martha, and Mavis went speechless as if they're still not used on seeing Batman/Johnny in person wearing his armored Batsuit. For Martha, this was his first time to meet the Batman.
Batman took the Riddler Trophy away from Gordon's hand for him to analyze. His white eye lenses lighted into blue turning on his Detective Mode and scanning for the trophy's mechanisms instead of just grabbing his high-tech goggles from his utility belt.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Another one of Riddler's sick games. Hmph... wonder what could this be.
GORDON: What does he want from you, anyway?
BATMAN/JOHNNY: He's an ego-driven narcissists who can't let anyone else win.
DRACULA: What is that?
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Some sort of mechanism for one of Riddler's puzzle. A Riddler Trophy? Hang on... I wonder if...
Batman/Johnny grabbed the Enigma Conundrum box that Riddler gave to him back at the hospital from his utility belt. He put the box and trophy all together and it released a message recorder from the Riddler.
RIDDLER: At last. I suppose I should fulfill my side of the agreement. A riddle for the Batman. Can you solve it?
HOSTAGE: Have you figure out what that machine is for, Batman?
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Yes. It's just one of Riddler's games.
An enraged Lydia went over to Dracula, Martha, Mavis, Batman/Johnny, and Gordon with her eyes and hair raging fire in anger. All of them flinched in surprise and fear while Vlad tried to stop his daughter.
LYDIA: You! How dare you humans show yourselves up after what just happened! This is all your fault! All of you humans never changed a bit!
GORDON: Ma'am, calm down please. We're doing our best to find the man who...
LYDIA: STOP! I don't want to hear any of your excuses. We were all having having peaceful night with our friends and families until one of you ruined it!
DRACULA: Lydia, that's enough!
Batman/Johnny stepped forward to protect Gordon from his enraged vampire aunt-in-law.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: You can't put the blame on Commissioner Gordon. I was at the scene first when Riddler got away. This is my fault and MINE alone.
LYDIA: I know it's BOTH your fault!
VLAD: Alright that's enough, Lydia. Just let the police do their job and this will be over soon.
LYDIA: Fine. Just take your human friends and leave the hotel. We had enough trouble for one night.
Vlad managed to calm Lydia down and left the vampire-human. Gordon sighed in relief.
GORDON: Uh... Thank you, Batman. For having my back.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: (*sigh) Just head back to the precinct. I'll let you know when I find anything.
HOSTAGE: Please, Batman. You have to find the others.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Commissioner Gordon will escort you back to the police precinct. I'll find the other hostages and make Riddler pay.
Gordon and his police officers exited the hotel with the hostage and safely headed back to the police precinct.
Batman/Johnny lowered his head in guilt. It was all his fault that he put his family and everyone else in danger. The Riddler almost killed everyone in the hotel tonight just to get Batman/Johnny's attention. That's another reason why Batman/Johnny needed to keep his identity a secret.
MARTHA: Are you alright, Batman?
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Erm... yes. I'm fine. Just need to solve this puzzle and get this over with.
DRACULA: Batman, I'm really sorry for my sister's actions. She still have troubles on trusting humans.
MAVIS: Don't be too hard on yourself. I mean, you saved our lives tonight after all. It's not your fault that this happened.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Yes it is.
The guilty Batman/Johnny couldn't even made eye-contact to Dracula, Martha, and Mavis after putting them in danger. He widened his eyes in surprise when he suddenly felt something that was wrapping his right leg tightly. Batman/Johnny looked down only to find Dennis hugging his leg.
DENNIS: Don't worry, Batman. I know you can stop the bad guys, cebause you're Batman and your my favorite superhero!
DRACULA, MARTHA, and MAVIS: Aww, Dennis...
From Dennis' kind words, Batman/Johnny smiled at the young boy. He really deeply loves Mavis and Dennis so much. This actually made Batman/Johnny much better as he knelt down to his son's level.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Thank you, Dennis. It really means a lot to me.
DENNIS: You're welcome!
Dennis hugged his hero while Batman/Johnny smiled at him and hugged him back. Dracula, Martha, and Mavis smiled in affection watching how much Dennis admires his hero. They let go off each other as Dennis went back to Winnie.
MAVIS: At least there's someone who believes in you.
Batman/Johnny lightly smiled and nodded at Mavis.
MARTHA: Are you going back out there, Batman?
BATMAN/JOHNNY: I have to, but I first have to take care of something before I head there.
DRACULA: Be careful out there, Batman, and thank you.
BATMAN/JOHNNY: Keep the hotel guests safe and secure inside their rooms. I'm ending this madness tonight.
Batman/Johnny exited the room through the window he crashed earlier and glides down on the ground outside the hotel lobby and rode the Batmobile while Dracula ordered the guests to rest inside their respective rooms.
A few minutes later...
Dracula, Martha, Mavis, and Dennis were walking through the hallway to get some goodnight sleep inside their rooms. Johnny shortly arrived and spotted the four vampires. It was Mavis and Dennis who saw the human first as they quickly hugged Johnny.
DENNIS: Daddy!
MAVIS: Johnny! Where have you been!? I was so worried about you!
JOHNNY: Just like what I said, I went out and called for help. Is everyone alright?
DRACULA: They're fine, Johnny. Everyone are already in the room sleeping, and so should you three.
DENNIS: Does this mean we're not going out to fly, Papa Drac?
MARTHA: I'm afraid not, my little Dennis. Tonight was a little... catastrophic for all of us, honey.
Martha knelt down and kissed Dennis on the forehead.
DENNIS: Aww... I really wanted to go out and fly with you.
DRACULA: I'm really sorry, Dennisovich. But maybe next we could. Right now you and your mommy and daddy need rest.
DENNIS: Ok, Papa Drac.
MARTHA: Get some rest you three.
MAVIS: We will. Goodnight, mom and dad.
Mavis hugged Dracula and Martha.
DRACULA: Goodnight to you too, my little Mavy-Wavy. You take good care of them, Johnny.
JOHNNY: You can count on me, Drac. Goodnight.
The family had their own separate ways as Mavis, Johnny, and Dennis headed to their room while Dracula and Martha headed in their room.
A concern look formed on Martha's face she noticed that something was bothering Dracula. She gently held her hand on his shoulder and asked.
MARTHA: Everything alright, honey?
DRACULA: Yes. I'm alright, my love. Just (*yawn) just tired that's all.
MARTHA: If you're really that tired, then maybe I can help you relax. Shall we say a little massage on the bed?
Martha smiled at her husband as she held both on his shoulder and began massaging it. This managed to help Dracula to relax even more.
DRACULA: (*chuckle) Thank you, dear.
MARTHA: You're welcome, my zing.
Martha planted a kiss on Dracula's cheek and continued walking through the hallway with her arms wrapped around his waist and his left arm on her shoulder pulling each other closer.
Meanwhile...
Dennis was already on his race car bed ready to get some sleep with Mavis and Johnny sitting beside him.
MAVIS: Ok, sweetie. It's time for bedtime.
DENNIS: (*yawn) Ok, Mommy.
MAVIS: Suffer, suffer scream in pain, blood is spilling from your brain.
DENNIS: Mommy, I'm too old for lullabies.
JOHNNY: Pff... nonsense. As long as we're concerned, you're still our cute little baby. Besides, don't you wanna hear mommy's beautiful voice?
MAVIS: Oh, Johnny.
Mavis rolled her eyes for fun and blushed from what Johnny said.
DENNIS: Can you tell me a story instead, Mommy?
MAVIS: Ok, baby. What story do you want?
DENNIS: Can it be about Batman?
Both Mavis and Johnny were surprised at Dennis' suggestion, mostly Johnny. The young couple starred at each other in confusion.
MAVIS: Oh... um, I don't know much stories about Batman, honey.
DENNIS: What about Daddy?
JOHNNY: I... also don't know what to tell, actually. Let's see, once upon a time Batman fought an evil clown and won. The end.
DENNIS: (*giggle) That's not a story.
Johnny chuckled and began to tickle Dennis, laughing uncontrollably from his father's tickles. Mavis giggled watching the father and son bonding until she failed to noticed that Johnny began to tickle her as well and started to laugh like Dennis.
Mavis and Dennis laid on bed still laughing uncontrollably from Johnny's tickles.
DENNIS: (*giggle) Daaaady! (*giggle)
MAVIS: (*giggle) Johnny, that's enough! (*giggle)
JOHNNY: (*laughs) I don't want to stop when my two cute little babies are making cute noises!
Johnny finally stopped and planted a kiss on Dennis' forehead and Mavis' cheeks and hugs them both. Mavis and Dennis hugged Johnny back then it was their turn to kiss him on his cheeks.
JOHNNY: I love you guys so much!
MAVIS and DENNIS: We love you, too!
They placed Dennis back on his bed to get him some sleep.
MAVIS: Let's just stick with lullaby instead, ok?
DENNIS: Ok, Mommy.
MAVIS: Suffer, suffer scream in pain, blood is spilling from your brain. Zombies gnaw you like a plum, piercing cries and you succumb. Suffer, suffer scream in pain, you will never breathe again.
Before Dennis could go to sleep, he asked Mavis and Johnny about something.
DENNIS: Mommy, Daddy.
MAVIS and JOHNNY: Yes, baby?
DENNIS: Can you stay here with me, tonight?
MAVIS: Aww, sure. Me and daddy can sleep here with you, sweetie.
JOHNNY: Yay! Sleepover!
Mavis and Johnny laid on the race care bed beside Dennis.
DENNIS: Goodnight, Mommy and Daddy.
MAVIS and JOHNNY: Goodnight, Dennis.
Both Mavis and Johnny planted a their goodnight kisses on Dennis' forehead. They've watched Dennis for a few minutes until he fell asleep. The young couple smiled at their adorable son sleeping peacefully.
While Dennis was fast asleep, Mavis gave a quick kiss on Johnny's cheek.
MAVIS: (*giggle) Goodnight, Johnny-stein.
JOHNNY: Goodnight, Mavy-Wavy.
Mavis and Johnny kissed passionately for only a minute and went to sleep.
Mavis fell asleep after a few minutes holding Dennis lovingly and had her head rest on top of his. Johnny wasn't asleep at all. He warmly smiled by simply watching Mavis and Dennis sleeping peacefully.
Johnny really loved his family so much that he would do everything to protect them from harm.
To be continued...
