Three Days Later - Kingdom of Dunbroch

Queen Elinor watched as Merida raced off to the North on Angus. For the last three days, Elinor has noticed Merida happy and distracted at home. The Queen smiled thinking of what is making her beloved daughter happy. Elinor was always proud of her daughter for standing up for herself and making a name for herself, but nothing made her prouder than now. When Fergus entered the room, Elinor turned to her beloved husband. "Hello love. I thought you were training guards today?"

"Aye, just forget my sword." Fergus answered grabbing the sword Hiccup made. "Still can't get used to this new blade."

"Fergus, have you noticed something different about Merida lately?" Elinor asked and the King raised an eyebrow.

"No. Why?" he answered.

"She's been distracted of a late. When she practices archery, she doesn't hit the target center as she has before." Elinor remarked and Fergus nodded.

"I've noticed that too. What are ya thinking?" Fergus asked.

"I think Merida is in love." Elinor answered and Fergus predictably gave a loud laugh. The man continued laughing until he noticed his wife's glare.

"You're not joking?" Fergus asked.

"No. I think our daughter is in love." Elinor answered.

"Our daughter? Merida? Merida doesn't do 'love'" Fergus remarked and Elinor knows that Merida has avoided marriage and romantic relationships, but that is the only thing that Elinor could figure out with Merida's recent behavior. "Besides who would she be in love with?"

"Perhaps Hiccup. When he showed up, she's been acting differently." Elinor replied and Fergus rubbed his chin.

"Well if that's the case why don't we invite him for dinner. See if Merida is truly in love." Fergus remarked and Elinor kissed her husband.

"Good thinking." the Queen said before they both left.

Elsewhere

Hiccup climbed down the secret hatch he has to get to the caves from his living room leaving Toothless to guard the house. He walked down the rocky walls to find a Razorwhip sleeping. Hiccup kneeled next to it and gently woke it up. When Hiccup and Toothless rescued this Razorwhip, it was blinded due to a Dragon Hunter trap. The dragon opened its eyes and Hiccup checked to see if there was any sign of infection. To his relief, there weren't. Hiccup scratched its chin as he heard footsteps from the hatch. The Rider turned to see Merida climbing down. "Well hello there m'lady."

"Oh stop it with that m'lady." Merida replied and Hiccup chuckled.

"So what brings you here today?" Hiccup asked as the Princess walked towards him.

"Just wanted to learn more about these guys." Merida answered and the two were silent. Hiccup has been trying to avoid Merida, but the only way to do that is to fly before she arrives which is difficult since she wakes up early in the morning or he had to check on a dragon. He enjoyed being with Merida, but he didn't want to hurt her or himself. "So who's this guy?"

"Uh girl actually and she is a Razorwhip. Sharp class dragon. Their tails can shoot barb spikes kile the Deadly Nadder and Whispering Death, but they can still use their tail to slice and grab objects." Hiccup replied and Merida scratched the dragon's head. The Dragon nuzzled its head in her arms. "When me and Toothless first met her, she tried to kill us. She seems to be more comfortable with females since it appears that she attacks any males. Took me a while for her to understand I'm trying to help."

"Question, what do you think of me?" Merida asked and Hiccup's heart skipped a beat.

"What?"

"You know if I could train and fly a dragon." Merida replied quickly and awkwardly. Hiccup gave a silent prayer.

"Well, we could train one of the dragons in the Hideout. It all depends on the Rider and the Dragon. Some will work better than others." Hiccup answered.

"So what do you think would be perfect for me?" Merida asked.

"Well, you are a free spirit, excellent archer, caring, loves your family, loyal. I think the best class is the Sharp Class. Maybe a Stike Class." Hiccup remarked and Merida nodded. "But it looks like you too get alone well."

"You think so?" Merida asked and the Razorwhip began to purr.

"Yep." Hiccup answered.

"Well, what should I name her?" Merida asked and Hiccup shrugged. He named Toothless after his retractable teeth. "How about Noor?"

"Noor it is." Hiccup replied and Merida spent the rest of their time together bonding with the Razorwhip.

Later

Merida sneaked into the castle through the empty kitchen since she was out late today. She didn't want her parents to find out that she was with Hiccup all day. Noor tried to follow Merida, but Merida managed to keep the Razorwhip at the Edge with Hiccup and Toothless. Now Merida was making her way to her room without spotting either her mom or dad. When she opened the door to her room, Elinor greeted the Princess. Merida sighed knowing she can't get out of this mess.

"Hey mum." Merida greeted with a nervous smile.

"You're home late." Elinor remarked and Merida chuckled.

"Must have lost track of time." Merida replied and Elinor smiled.

"Well I hope we will be having a guest tomorrow, so, please be here on time." Elinor remarked before hugging her daughter and kissed her forehead. "I love you."

"Love you too mum." Merida replied before the Queen left Merida's room. The woman dropped onto her bed exhausted and relieved she got out of trouble this time.

One Day Later- Kingdom of Dunbroch

"Okay remember to hold onto the saddle when you're going at fast speeds. Don't want the wind to force you off." Hiccup said to Merida and she smiled. She enjoyed being with Hiccup and she loved the dragon. Merida still couldn't get use to the idea of Hiccup's world. But she enjoyed it with every bone in her body.

"I know how to ride. I've been riding horses for most of my life. How hard can a dragon be?" Merida asked and Hiccup just shrugged.

"Well, flying has more dangers than a horse alone with increasing the already present dangers. I just don't want you to get hurt." Hiccup replied and Merida blushed.

"Thanks, but I can take care of myself." Merida remarked as Hiccup got onto Toothless.

"Well then, let's feed some hungry dragons." he added and the two rushed out on their dragons. The wings caught the wind and Merida felt uneasiness with Noor. Merida pat the blind Razorwhips neck calming the wounded girl.

"Don't worry, I'm here." Merida whispered to the dragon. The pack of dragons flew behind them but Merida didn't focus on that. She felt the wind against her skin and hair. The coldness of the ocean air. Merida loved the joy of flight and hoped that it won't be a secret for long. The Princess turned to see a smiling Hiccup and Toothless. She thought of how much her life changed thanks to Hiccup. She admired his talents, skills, and his gift of flight. Yes, it is unorthodox, but it was still amazing to Merida. She felt something towards Hiccup but didn't know if he felt the same way. But she hopes he does.

Later

Hiccup landed on the stable deck with Merida and the dragons not far behind. He saw the young woman lead Noor to the Hideout and smiled. She gave him hope that there can be peace between humans and Vikings. He once thought that he wouldn't be able to bring dragons and humans together, but when he met Merida, everything changed. She improved his life. He actually wanted to go and enjoy his life in Dunbroch. When they reached the Hideout, Merida sat with her dragon. "Well, I'm going head to head to the house. I trust you can stay safe with Noor."

"Yeah, yeah. I'll stay with Noor a little longer." Merida remarked and Hiccup nodded before walking to the hatch. As he walked Toothless jumped around in joy.

"Don't worry, bud I just want to make a few medications to the tail and the flight suit. Then I'll be back." Hiccup promised as they reached the hatch. The Rider climbed up to the house in time to hear a knock. "Hold on!" he yelled as he closed the hatched and pulled the rug over it. Hiccup rushed to the door and opened it to find a message handing the Rider a letter.

"The Ruling family of Dunbroch invites you to supper in two days time." the messager reported before turning around and climbing onto his horse. Hiccup closed the door before opening the letter. Apparently, Merida's parents invited him to talk about arming the guards with new weapons, unlike anything they have. He sighed knowing this would have. People see his inventions and want them themselves. But that would acquire dragons. Meaning that he will have to reveal dragons. Once he thought it would be impossible and wouldn't. But thanks to Merida, he was confident it might work.
