Chris comes to the dock, looks around, but Street isn't there yet.
He sits down on a bench, the closest to the ocean. The place has always been relaxing for Chris, and he knows that Street is very fond of it as well.
A few moments later he hears the roar of a motorcycle, looks towards the road, and sees it.
Street gets off the bike, and Chris can't help but admire it in all its beauty. With simple jeans and a T-shirt that highlight her muscles, that man is able to disintegrate even the little self-control that she has left, making her visibly blush.
Chris has always been afraid of what he can arouse in her, but at the same time he is happy when he is with
him, and today she is determined to start a new chapter in her life, in which the protagonists are her and Jim Street.
"Street," she calls out, and shakes her hand to signal him to join her.
"Hey Chris, are you okay? I rushed as soon as you called. Everything is OK?" he asks, visibly worried.
Her gaze meets Chris's, and they can both swear they can hang each other's eyes.
"Yes, everything is ok," she reassures him "would you like to take a walk?" he asks
"Sure" is the only word that comes out of Street's mouth. As much as she reassured him, she can see from her expression that she is very nervous.
They head towards the beach, near the shore in a somewhat disturbing silence.
"Jim," Chris clears his throat, before continuing "I would like you to listen to me, without interrupting, because I need to tell you some things, that otherwise I would not be able to tell you"
"Ok" he replies
He continues to walk aimlessly on the beach, when Chris with his gaze lost in the ocean speaks to him "Jim, I am aware that I have made you suffer. Much. And I don't want to justify myself for what I have done in all these years, because, if I have to be honest with myself, and above all count, I can only define myself as reckless and selfish. " takes a breath to continue "what I can tell you now is that I'm so sorry, and I want to make up for everything I've done."
He stops again, but this time, she walks faster to stop in front of him, takes his hands and looks him in the eye. Chris knows that what he is about to say will forever destroy the walls he has built around her, it is the point of no return.
"I want to write a new chapter in my life, which not only includes Christina Alonso, but which also stars Jim Street. You turned my world upside down, you provoked something in me that I had never known, and that scared me a lot. Street can't believe what just happened, it feels like a daydream.
After a few minutes, they walk away to catch their breath and Street, still visibly amazed, gives her a smile "wow, I think I haven't really realized what just happened yet" he says pointing between them.
Chris, more casually, tells him "Well Long Beach, I think you have to make it happen now, because we only have 30 minutes before our shift starts".
"Ok, I'll be brief" he clears his throat and looks into her eyes "Chris, you already know quite well how much I care about you. you just told me that I turned your life upside down, and I'm flattered, but know that you have turned mine upside down too. You made me a better man, you made me understand not all people in the world are bad, that there are also people, good, altruistic, and among them there is you. You're an extraordinary woman, the toughest I've ever met. You are like a drug to my heart to me, you have entered my mind, and as much as I have tried to get you out, I have understood that it will never be possible. I LOVE YOU CHRIS, my feelings for you are infinite, and they are always the same from the first moment I met you, and they will always be. " He takes a breath and continues, "We have both finally admitted our feelings, and it may seem that I am running a bit, but I want to make you a promise right now. Chris is now crying in sobs, they are tears of joy, of liberation.
