During her travel to the Republic City, Korra saves a mysterious man with dark past from drowning. Unknowingly for her it will lead to the events on Multiversal scales. They will be refencered and mentioned other characters, places and events outside ATLA/LOK Universe and even they will appear into the story.

In a somewhat strange occurrence the next avatar cycle manifests as a set of male twins. Their identities are not disclosed and they remain untrained until the ages of seventeen a rule that was set by Korra of the last cycle.
