Authors Note:

Hello. Welcome back, everyone. In this chapter, Ash and Red will still be babies. It'll cover some new exciting plot points as well as a sneak peek to the destiny written for them. Hope you enjoy it!

The first thing I'd like to do before starting the chapter is to thank NorthstarPokeshipper for agreeing to be a beta reader for this story. Whatever you are reading right now wouldn't have been possible without his help. Also, if you want to check out some more good Pokemon stories, check out his profile. He has a list of some good fanfics there and has many he has written himself.

I've got the next couple of chapters planned out as well. These will show their growth from ages 5, 9, 13, and then finally age 16. I am planning on making 16 the official age when trainers get their first Pokemon and are allowed to begin their journey. I never understood why 10 year olds are allowed to leave their home and travel around the world alone, so I'm changing it to 16, which I think is a pretty good age to start at.

For those that have opinions about which starter to give, there is a poll on my profile for Ash's starter. You can pick your top 2 Pokemon. If your choice isn't there, you're welcome to select the "none of the above" option, and PM me your ideas. This poll will only be active for 2 chapters or so because I need to add another poll for Red's starter before the chapter in which they turn 16.

Also, there are a few things I'd like to address. These are questions that pop up a lot on other Pokemon stories I've read and I'm sure someone will ask them eventually on mine as well.

1) Will there be Mega Evolution? Yes. Mega Evolution will be a part of the story, but I haven't decided yet when to incorporate it into the story. If any of you have any ideas please do run them by me.

2) Will there be Z-moves? Most likely. I'm thinking of giving the Z moves similar to the way they are given by the trial captains in the Sun/Moon US/UM games. A gym leader will give a Z crystal for beating him along with the gym badge. Once again, please give me your opinions and ideas on how to incorporate them.

3) Will Ash and Red catch any legendary Pokemon? Probably. Most likely not any of the big ones, of course. But maybe less important ones such as Manaphy, Meloetta, the Eon Twins, etc. We'll see though. I think the Eon Twins work out perfectly with Ash and Red being twins and each of them getting one of the Pokemon.

4) Will they be able to use Aura? Hell yeah. They'll probably be the most powerful aura guardians in the world once they are done with their training.

5) Will Ash and Red be the same in terms of skill level, intelligence, etc? Well, In terms of battling they will be essentially the same. In other words, a battle between the two of them could go either way. In terms of intelligence, they will both be really smart and stuff, but in terms of girls, Ash will still be stupid and dense as he is in the anime. Red on the other hand will be exactly the opposite.

6) Different text styles:

BOLD AND CAPS = BEING OF IMMENSE POWER TALKING

Regular text = humans and regular pokemon

Italicized text = telepathy as well as thoughts

ITALICIZED, BOLD, AND CAPS = THOUGHTS FROM BEING OF IMMENSE POWER

JUST CAPS = YELLING

And now, without further ado, let's begin Chapter 2.

-In the Hall of Origin-

Arceus was sitting calmly on his throne, thinking about the chosen ones, when a huge shockwave suddenly went through the hall of origin. Multiple pillars collapsed and many thrones were reduced to rubble. Arceus was barely able to keep it from doing further damage. After the shockwave dissipated, Arceus sat back down, wondering what could have caused something like this to happen. Suddenly, he had a splitting headache and a vision popped into his mind. He looked through it, his face growing paler and paler as it went on.

"NO. NOO. THIS CANNOT BE." Arceus said after the vision was over. "How could this be possible, he thought. Aura had sealed him in the darkest depths of the universe ages ago. He can't be escaping." Arceus stamped his foot on the ground before sending a message to all the legendaries, asking them to come to the throne room immediately. He would need to explain to everyone what he had just seen.

One by one, all the legendaries started appearing in the Hall of Origin. They grew surprised as they noticed the destruction around them. Pillars had toppled over, thrones had been reduced to nothing more than rubble, and the bright lights of the Hall of Origin had dimmed. "Father, what happened here." some of the legendaries asked as they took in the frightful nature of the room.

Arceus sighed. He knew he would have to tell them about it eventually. "TELL ME. DO YOU KNOW HOW ARE WORLD WAS CREATED." Arceus asked the other legendaries. There was some mumbling as most of them except for Mew shook their heads. "YOU MUST FIRST UNDERSTAND HOW OUR WORLD WAS CREATED IN ORDER FOR ME TO TELL YOU WHAT JUST HAPPENED," Arceus said.

"AT THE BEGINNING ONLY 2 POWERFUL BEINGS: SHADOW AND AURA, WERE IN EXISTENCE," Arceus said as the other legendaries listened attentively to his words. "THEY CREATED THE FIRST PLANETS AND LIVING CREATURES."

"What happened next," Manaphy asked.

"THEY WERE BEST FRIENDS. BUT THEY DISAGREED ON ONE THING. SHADOW WANTED TO ENSLAVE THE ENTIRE WORLD, WHILE AURA WANTED TO BE FRIENDS WITH IT," Arceus continued.

"So, Aura was the good guy right," Mew asked with a smile. The other legendaries snickered at her childish attitude.

"YES. AURA FOUGHT SHADOW FOR MANY MANY YEARS UNTIL SHE FINALLY DEFEATED HIM AND SEALED HIM AWAY IN THE DARKEST DEPTHS OF THE UNIVERSE," Arceus said as the smaller legendaries started to cheer.

"What does that have to do with all this damage, father", Dialga and Palkia asked uneasily, surveying the remains of the room.

Arceus sighed before looking towards them gravely. "I JUST RECEIVED A VISION FROM AURA HERSELF. SHE HAS SHOWN ME THAT SHADOW HAS STARTED TO AWAKEN." The smaller legendaries paled and stopped cheering when they heard that. "SHADOW IS BUILDING UP HIS POWER, AND SOON, HE WILL BE ABLE TO BREAK FREE AND ESCAPE HIS PRISON. AFTER ESCAPING, HIS FIRST TARGET WILL BE AURA'S FAVORITE CREATION. THE PLANET EARTH."

"How long do we have until he completely breaks free," The others asked.

"ABOUT 20 YEARS, MY CHILDREN," Arceus said with a heavy heart. "THERE IS ONLY ONE HOPE FOR OUR SURVIVAL AND THE SURVIVAL OF THE WHOLE WORLD."

"What is it? How do we stop this thing," Mew asked Arceus.

"HE CAN ONLY BE STOPPED, BUT THE CHOSEN ONES," Arceus said. "ONLY HE WILL HAVE TO POWER TO COMPLETELY AWAKEN AURA AND USE HER POWERS TO FIGHT AGAINST SHADOW."

"But he is still just a baby," Rayquaza said. "How can he save the whole world like this."

"HE CAN'T," ARCEUS SAID GRAVELY. "THIS IS WHY WE MUST BEGIN HIS TRAINING VERY EARLY. WHEN HE TURNS 5, ONE OF THE WORLD STRONGEST URA GUARDIANS WILL START TRAINING HIM TO HARNESS HIS POWERS. YOU MAY ALL LEAVE NOW," He said. All the legendaries except for Mew and the smaller legendaries quickly returned to their homes.

Arceus turned away from the ones that remained and looked down into the vision of the two babies sleeping fitfully, not knowing of the hard task they would have to complete in the future. "GOOD LUCK, MY CHOSEN ONES," Arceus said. "GOOD LUCK!."

-In another dimension, far, far away--

It was dark. So, so dark. Nothing could be seen here with the naked eye, but if you looked very closely, you could make out something that looked like a door. A door made of pure light, and positive energy. This was the entrance to the Realm of Darkness. The alternate dimension where Aura had locked up Shadow in a deep sleep. The pure light on the door kept Shadow from regaining his power or waking up, but it was starting to fade.

If you approached the door, you could see beyond it, a vast form made of pure darkness. Getting to the door was already tough due to the suppressive toxic air around it. Even if you managed to make it through, there wasn't much you could do. Just being in the presence of this entity drove people mad by the sheer amount of negative energy seeping out from his body. This creature was Shadow. Yes. The same Shadow who was defeated in battle eons ago by Aura.

He had been put into a deep sleep but was now starting to wake. He didn't remember much of what happened, but there was one thing he knew clearly. He wanted revenge on Aura for stopping him but didn't know where she was. He still wasn't completely awake but was still conscious enough to be able to think.

"COME ON SHADOW. THINK. THINK!" Shadow said to himself as he debated how to get back at Aura. Finally, he had an idea. "YES. I HAVE GOT IT." He said to himself. He laughed as he thought, "AURA WON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT HIT HER."

-Back on Planet Earth--

The sun was just beginning to rise in the Kanto region. Inside a small room in the Pallet Town General Hospital, Delia Ketchum was sleeping, before she was awakened by crying. The babies could sense that Shadow was waking up and started crying because they were scared. Delia quickly got out of bed, Thinking that her sons were hungry, she took out two small baby bottles of milk and gave them to the twins. They immediately stopped crying and looked eagerly at the milk before chugging it all down.

For the next whole week, Delia and the two twins had to stay in the hospital. The doctors wanted to run some tests on the newborns to see if they were healthy. What they found was astonishing. They hadn't seen babies healthier than Ash and Red in their lives. The 2 babies had an aura of power and confidence surrounding them.

During the week of testing, the two twins proved to be too mature for their age. They would go to any of the doctors without crying, which very few babies would ever do. Even though they weren't even a couple days old, they still shared an incredible sibling bond. If one brother was in the testing room, the other one would follow the doctors in there with him, crying when they kept the two brothers apart. They would go so far as to banging on the door, bothering the doctors until they finally reunited the two brothers.

After the week of testing, Delia was finally allowed to return back to her home. The doctors, who had grown quite attached to them, came to see her, Ash, and Red off. Delia profusely thanked them for all of their help, and everything they had done for her babies, before walking out the front door. Outside, Professor Oak was waiting for her in his car. He quickly got out when he noticed her approaching, and opened the front door for her. Then he quickly set up the infant safety seats in the back and helped put the babies inside.

When Delia arrived home she realized the front door was slightly open. She slowly went up to her house and took a couple steps inside. The lights in the house were on. "I'm sure I had turned off the lights when I left," Delia thought as she looked around. Delia grew increasingly nervous as she heard small noises coming from the dining room. It was the only room in which the lights were off. She put the sleeping babies down on the couch before slowly making her way into the dining room. "Hello? Is someone there," She asked, as she heard something move.

All of a sudden the lights in the room turned on and confetti began falling from on top of the ceiling fan. Lots of people suddenly showed up, from under the table, behind the couch, and hiding in the kitchen, and yelled, "SURPRISE!" Delia looked around in amazement as she realized they had thrown a surprise party for her and her children.

Looking around, she noticed many residents from Pallet Town including some of the doctors from the hospital. She even saw Blue and his wife along with their children. Their son Gary was born just a couple months before Ash and Red, while their daughter, Daisy was 15 years old.

"We decided to throw this surprise party for you," Delia, Professor Oak said from behind her. It was all Blue and Daisy's idea. "We do hope you enjoyed the surprise."

"Yea! Congratulations on your twins, Delia." Blue Oak said. It was quite rare to see Blue around Pallet Town. Ever since he had defeated the elite 4 and become the first champion of the Kanto region, he had spent most of his time doing his duties as champion, which included tracking down members of the criminal organization known as Team Rocket.

"This is incredible. Thanks a lot everyone," Delia said, as the Professor went into the kitchen. He reappeared a couple moments later with some other people, all of them bringing in the food for the party For the next couple hours, Everyone ate and talked and had fun, before it became dark outside. Soon it was time for everyone to go home.

After everyone left, Delia went upstairs to prepare the room for the two new members of her family. She quickly brought in 2 cribs for the babies as well as blankets, new clothes, and lots of toys for them to play with. She even brought them some Stuffed Pokemon, before heading to bed

-Sometime after the party-

It was very dark outside. The clock was just beginning to strike midnight. While everyone was asleep in their houses, one lone man was perched on top of a nearby tree. This man was wearing a grey cape. He also had blue boots with a brown top and tan colored laces. He also had blue gloves which had a circle in the middle where the center of his palms would be. To complete his outfit, he had a brown belt from which hung a burlap sack, and grey and blue hat. This man was Riley, an Aura Guardian. He was once a student of the late Sir Aaron, Ash's and Red's father.

By his side was a bipedal Pokemon. The pokemon had cream colored fur on his chest and torso. The fur around his hands and feet was grey, with some blue on his ears, elbow, and thighs. He also had 4 appendages coming out of his head, shaped similar to teardrops, and had a spike coming out of the back of each hand. Unlike most others, he stood on only his toes. This pokemon was Lucario, one of the only pokemon that could utilize and control its aura. Because of this, Lucario's were common partners for Aura Guardians.

"Are you sure about this, Master." Lucario said to Riley.

"I am. It's what Aaron would have wanted us to do," He said, as he remembered his best friend who had also been the one to train him in the ways of the aura. From the sack hanging from his belt, he took out a small package, before jumping off the tree onto the ground. His pokemon followed suit. Together they walked up to the Ketchum house.

They left the package on the doorstep and knocked on the door. A moment later they heard footsteps approaching. The man took one last look at the house, before jumping into the trees along with his Pokemon, disappearing from sight.

Delia Ketchum was sleeping with her babies in the cribs next to her. She had been very tired from the party and taking care of her newborns. Suddenly she was jerked away by the sound of someone knocking on her door. She quietly got out of bed so she wouldn't wake the babies before walking to the front door.

She opened the door and looked around, but no one was in sight. "Hmm. Weird. There's no one here." Delia thought. "But I could have sworn someone knocked on the door right now. Oh well. I probably imagined it." She was about to close the door when she noticed the package on the doorstep. "Hmm. What's this? Did someone leave it here and knocked on the door to tell me?" Delia wondered.

She picked up the package and then noticed the note taped to the top of the box. It read: Delia, Aaron left these in my possession before he died. At the right age, he wanted them to be given to his children, hoping that it would help them in becoming great trainers. Even better than he was. It's time I returned them to you, but do not give the contents of this box to Ash or Red until they turn 5.

Delia stared in shock at the note. This could only mean that an aura guardian had left this package here. Did her children have power over aura too? "Oh of course they would." She thought to herself. Suddenly she felt herself yawning and recalled how tired she was. She went back inside and hid the package inside her room, before going back to sleep.

Authors Note:

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REMEMBER TO DO THE POLL. CURRENTLY, I'VE ONLY GOTTEN 5 UNIQUE VOTES, WHICH IS DEFINITELY NOT ENOUGH. I WON'T KNOW WHO TO PICK AS ASH'S STARTER UNLESS YOU GUYS ACTUALLY VOTE. AFTER A COUPLE DAYS, I WILL BE SWITCHING TO THE POLL FOR RED'S GIRLFRIEND BECAUSE YOUR CHOICE WILL ESSENTIALLY END UP CHANGING HOW I RIGHT THE NEXT CHAPTER. THANKS!

On that note, that brings chapter 2 to an end (see what I did there?) Ok. That was bad, I'm sorry. Hopefully you enjoyed this chapter. In the next chapter they will no longer be babies. I'm time skipping all the way to when they turn 5. It'll contain the Summer Camp at which they met Serena, and will also introduce Ash, Red, and Gary's rivalry. Also, you'll get to find out what was in that package as well.

Thanks! Make sure to review, ask any questions, vote in the polls, ask questions, and give me any suggestions you have that can make this story better. Hopefully, you enjoyed this chapter, and the next one will be even better.

Peace out
