Authors Note

Hello. Welcome back, everyone. I was gonna publish this on Friday (next week), but some friends asked me to publish the chapter early since I already done. SO, hear it is! I changed my mind and decided to add some special things to this chapter which I originally had not planned. First of all, it'll show Serena's move from Vaniville Town in the Kalos region to Pallet Town in the Kanto region. Ash, Red, and Serena will be 5 years old. It'll also show Serena's mom and Delia becoming friends. Also, there's something special at the beginning which I won't spoil in the AN. I will warn you that it's a bit emotional, but I'm really hoping that you enjoy it, because I've worked pretty hard on writing it. Not gonna lie, I almost cried while writing that.

Due to all this, I wasn't able to add Professor Oak's summer camp, Ash, Red and Serena meeting, and Ash, Red, and Gary becoming rivals. That'll all be in the next chapter. Otherwise, this chapter would have become way too long, and there would be way too much happening in one chapter.

For those that reviewed the previous chapters, I've sent you a PM answering any questions you had and such. For those that use guest accounts while reviewing, I'll answer your questions and reply to your reviews in the Authors Note at the beginning of each chapter. There haven't been any guest reviews yet though, so there won't be anything to answer here.

The poll for Ash's starter pokemon is now CLOSED. I repeat it is CLOSED. I MAY reopen it later if I get votes on the other poll quickly and have some spare time before writing the chapter where they start their journey. A big thanks to all of the people that gave their votes for Ash's poll. The final results of the poll are as follows:

Riolu: 9 votes

Pikachu: 8 votes

Dratini: 4 votes

Charmander: 2 votes

Eevee: 2 votes

Froakie: 2 votes

Squirtle: 0 votes

Bulbasaur: 0 votes

Keep in mind that just because these guys didn't win the poll, doesn't mean that Ash will never catch any of these Pokemon. He'll end up getting most of these eventually, so don't feel bad if your choice didn't win. So based on the final results, Riolu has the most votes and will be Ash's starter pokemon. Yay!

The poll for Red's starter is now on my profile, so please do go and vote for that too. Keep in mind that the Pokemon that became Ash's starter will not be included in the poll for Red's chapter in order to keep the starter repetition to a minimum. They might end up having some pokemon that are the same later on, but definitely not the same starters.

-Some Forest in the Kanto Region-

Deep within the forest was a small area where lots of different Pokemon came to hang out and play. Some of the rarest Pokemon in the world could be found here. Even Pokemon from different regions. The whole territory was protected by 2 Pokemon. A male Raichu and his mate, who was a Pikachu. They were very good to all the Pokemon that stayed here and made sure that each and every Pokemon was kept safe.

They would go out and bring food back for the others and would fight off any wild Pokemon or humans that tried to cause trouble. Because of this, all the other Pokemon loved them. They all lived together as one happy family. Pikachu and Raichu even had a nice son. A small little Pichu.

Pichu was quite special because he was the only one of his kind that could control his electric powers. Most Pichu didn't have the ability to control their electricity, and ended up hurting themselves and others, but not him. Pichu could use a thunderbolt attack almost as powerful as his mothers. Because of that, his parents took extra care of him, knowing that humans would want to capture such a unique Pokemon for themselves.

Because of this, Pichu almost always stayed by his parents' side or stayed with other Pokemon that were strong enough to defend him from others. But Pichu was also very stubborn and adventurous. He had always wanted to see the rest of the world outside of his home. He didn't want to be stuck in the forest for the rest of his life.

One day, Pichu tried to sneak out of the forest. He got halfway through the forest before he became tired and hungry. After searching for some food, he noticed a couple of Oran Berries growing on a tree close by. Using his Thundershock attack, he shot a bolt of electricity at the tree branch, causing a couple of the berries to fall down.

He failed to notice that a Pokemon Poacher had witnessed Pichu using his thundershock attack and was surprised. He had never seen a Pichu that could actually control its powers. His shock quickly turned into greed, and he thought, "Hmm. I can probably make a lot of money by selling such a rare Pokemon." For his thirst for money, he decided to try to capture the electric mouse Pokemon.

"Go Absol," The poacher shouted as he threw a Pokeball onto the ground. The Pokeball opened up and a red beam of light came out of it. The light disappeared to reveal a quadruped Pokemon with white fur on its whole body. It also had a dark grey tail spiny tail as well as a horn of the same color. On his forehead, there was a grey oval as well. The Pokemon seemed to have a large beard.

Absol smirked evilly at the small yellow Pokemon in front of it. Pichu, scared out of his mind, immediately turned and ran back in the direction of his home, with the poacher and his Pokemon hot on his tail. "Pichu Pichu Pichu," he panted as he ran as fast he could trying to get away from the poachers.

Pichu finally arrived at his hometown. "PICHU PI PICHU CHU," he yelled (COME QUICK! THERE'S A POACHER AFTER ME). Immediately the other Pokemon from the village showed up to try and help. Pichu hoped that the poacher would get scared by the sheer numbers and leave, but that was not the case. The poacher just smirked before throwing 5 more Pokeballs into the air.

The Pokeballs opened up to reveal 5 more powerful Pokemon. The first one was a large, earthy-green colored Pokemon. It had a segmented stomach that was blue and seemed to have several spikes coming out of its back. The next Pokemon turned out to be a Rhyperior, a large 2 legged Pokemon with the ability to launch the rocks located on its arms. There was also a Skarmory. A steel and flying type Pokemon that could crush massive rocks in its metal beaks. The fourth Pokemon was one of the most terrifying. A massive green and red Salamence flew over them. The Pokemon had moon-shaped wings to go with his spikes coming out of the sides of his head. The last Pokemon used by the poacher was an Alakazam. It was a bipedal Pokemon with 2 spoons in its hand and a long beard.

The poacher smirked and said two words to his pokemon: "Get em.'" The pokemon immediately let loose with their strongest attacks. Salamence and Tyranitar attacked anything they saw with their Hyper Beam attacks, blowing up everyone around them. Salamence used Dragon Breath and Dragon Pulse, while Skarmory went on the melee with Giga Impact. Absol used Dark Pulse and Alakazam used his Psychic attacks to keep the Pokemon from running away, occasionally smash pokemon together to knock them out. Pichu looked at the destruction around him with terror.

"PI PI PICCHU," it yelled (Mommy, Daddy, where are you guys?!). Pichu's parents heard the cry and quickly ran up to him.

"Pika pi." Pikachu's mom said (You must leave while you have the chance).

"Rai, Raichu. Chu." Pikachu's dad said. (She's right. Go now).

Both parents looked at their son with tears in their eyes. They knew their time was up, but they would make sure that their son would escape from here alive. "Pi Pichu chu pi," Pichu cried (I don't want to leave you guys).

"Rai Raichu. Rai Chu Chu Rai Raichu Rai," His father stated. (You must go on. We will make sure that he doesn't reach you).

"Pika. Pikachu, chu pi," His mother continued (Remember son. We love you. And we're always with you. Pichu gave both his parents one last hug. His mother gave him one last kiss on his forehead. His father took off his special headband with the light stone, and wrapped it around Pichu, before pushing him away forever.

Pichu turned and ran through the woods. After he got far enough away. He turned and looked back at the remains of the small Pokemon village that he once used to call his home. He took one last look at the place he had last seen his parents, and all his friends before continuing on his journey. He continued on without looking back until he finally arrived at the Pallet Forest. He decided this would be his new home, before collapsing from the fatigue of his journey, His last thought before he finally lost his consciousness was, "All humans are evil."

-In Vaniville Town in the Kalos Region-

Inside a small house, a woman was standing in the living room. The woman's name was Grace Yvonne, and she was once a famous Rhyhorn Racer. "Come on, Serena," Grace yelled. "It's almost time for us to leave." Soon, footsteps were heard coming from the top floor.

A small 5-year-old girl entered the room crying. She had blonde hair going up to her shoulders, as well as a small Stuffed Pikachu clutched in her hands. "But I don't want to leave, mama," She said. Grace knelt down in front of her daughter and gave her a hug. "I want us to stay here forever."

"I know you'll miss the Kalos Region, Serena," her mother said. "But we can always come back and visit whenever we want to. This helped to brighten Serena's mood. "Plus, when we go to the Kanto region, you'll get to meet the esteemed Professor Oak," she continued. "We'll be staying in Pallet Town, where you will get to make lots of new friends too."

Serena's face lit up at the prospect of making new friends. "Really, mama," She asked, to which Grace nodded.

Serena got even happier when her mom said, "You'll even get to start your journey after getting a starter Pokemon from Professor Oak." Serena had dreamed of going on a journey with her friends ever since she first saw a Pokemon. "Her favorite pokemon was the fire type starter Fennekin. She was hoping that Professor Oak would have this pokemon for her when she got older.

"Ok. When do we leave, mama." Serena asked. Serena and her mother were leaving the Kalos region to move to the Kanto region. They had decided to move to Pallet Town, where Professor Oak even helped them by booking a house for them to buy.

"We leave right now. Serena." Grace said. The mother-daughter duo took one last look at the house where they had spent their whole life, before picking up the multitude of boxes and starting to put them into the van. Thanks to the movers and their Machokes, they were finished loading all the boxes into the van in just a couple minutes.

Afterward, Serena and Grace took a taxi to the nearest airport, which was located just a couple miles north of Vaniville Town. At the airport, they quickly showed their passports and tickets, before finding their seats in the plane.

A couple of minutes later, the pilot's voice was heard as the plane's engines turned on. "Ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for choosing Air Kalos today. This flight will reach the Kanto Region and will land in the Viridian City Airport in approximately 11 hours." As he said this, the TV's in every seat turned on, showing a flight map as well as a large collection of games and moves. "Please fasten your seat belts while the light is on, and make sure your seat is in the upright position." Serena and her mother adjusted their seats along with a handful of other passengers. A loud rumble was heard as the Plane took off.

Serena took one last look at the Kalos region from the sky and kept her eyes trained on it as it slowly faded to nothing more than a tiny speck in the distance. Then she finally closed her eyes to try and get some rest during the long flight.

After what seemed like only a couple of hours, Serena woke up to the voice of the Captain. "Ladies and Gentlemen, we are about to begin our descent to the Viridian City Airport. Please refasten your seatbelts and fix the position of your seats." A couple of minutes later, when everyone's seats had been adjusted and all seat belts had been fastened, the pilot landed the plane at the Viridian City Airport and taxied it to the nearest gate.

All the passengers embarked and left the airport, including Serena and her mother. They quickly hailed a taxi and gave the driver the address of their new house. While driving, Serena looked out of the window to see a flock of bird pokemon flying sitting on a tree branch. They flew off as the car approached them.

"Mama, What was that pokemon," Serena asked excitedly. She always loved to meet new Pokemon.

"Those were Pidgey," Grace informed her. "They're some of the most common pokemon in Kanto, and are very useful to keep on your team." Along the way, they even saw many Rattatas as well as a whole bunch of Spearow. Serena's eyes were wide with amazement as she realized just how many new Pokemon there are that she had never seen before.

Just a short time later, they saw a small sign which said, "Pallet Town, Next exit on the right." Serena almost squealed with delight. "Look, mama, we're almost here." The driver took the exit. Immediately a multitude of houses and other buildings were seen in the distance. Going a little bit further, the driver took a right towards a row of houses and stopped in front of the 4th house.

Serena and Grace quickly got out of the car and paid the taxi driver. "Home sweet home," Grace said with a smile as she and Serena finally went inside their house. Looking around, they realized that the delivery men had already moved in all of their other belongings. Everything had been unpacked and set up according to the diagram given by Grace. They took a quick tour of the house and noticed that everything was in its place, before leaving to explore the town.

Delia Ketchum woke up bright and early. She had to go to the store to buy some groceries. She pulled out her shopping list and wrote down everything she needed to buy before leaving the house. She knew that Ash and Red were still sleeping, and knew she would be able to come back before they woke up. As she left the house she thought about what she should do now. Her sons were definitely old enough to start going to the Pokemon school, but she wanted them to get some other experience first.

While walking to the Pokemart, she noticed multiple posters on the wall of the store. She was about to ignore it when she noticed a picture of Professor Oak on the posters. She went closer to take a look at them, wondering what the professor was doing now. The poster read, "Professor Oak presents his new yearly Pokemon Summer Camp for ages 5-7." Looking at the poster Delia thought, "Hmm. I should send Ash and Red here too. Professor Oak can teach them a lot about Pokemon training in order to help them prepare for their journeys in the future."

While thinking about the camp, she lost track of time. Before she knew it, it was time for her to wake up her sons. Realizing this, she rushed into the grocery store and bumped into someone else. She fell flat onto the floor.

"Oh. I'm so sorry," the person who she bumped into said. "I should have watched where I was going." Standing before her was a stranger. Someone she had never seen in town before. Delia had been living in pallet town for a long time, so she was familiar with almost all the residents. She was surprised when she didn't recognize this person, and then realized that this person must have just moved here.

"Oh, it's ok. It was mostly my fault for being in such a rush," Delia said. "I've never seen you around here before."

"Oh. I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Grace. Grace Yvonne," She said. "I just moved here from Vaniville Town in the Kalos Region along with my 5-year-old daughter Serena."

"I'm Delia Ketchum. I live in that house right down the street," she said, pointing towards her house. "My sons Ash and Red are the same age as your daughter. I'm sure they would love to show her around."

"That would be great, Delia," Grace said, Happy to have made a friend in this unfamiliar region. "It was great talking to you. I need to go home and check on Serena now. Bye!"

"See you," Delia said, before walking into the store. She knew this was the start of a beautiful new friendship for her and her sons.

Well, that's that. This was a unique chapter, cause I didn't even get the chance to include Ash and Red into it. Not to worry though, because the next chapter will be all about them as 5-year-olds:

It'll include the following events:

1) Ash, Red, and Serena becoming friends

2) Professor Oak's Summer Camp

3) Ash, Red, and Gary's rivalry will be revealed

4) Maybe another peek at Shadow and Aura and the Legendaries

And that's that. Thanks a lot for reading. Please review. That will keep me motivated to write more and update. I have decided that I will try to update every Friday or every other Friday, and will keep one or 3 chapters in advance ready in case I don't get time to write so I will still be able to publish something.

Please remember to review, ask any questions you have, give me any suggestions, tell me how I can improve my story, or anything you would like to see me add. Also please, please, please continue to do the polls. As I stated at the beginning, the poll for Red's starter Pokemon had been opened so please visit my profile to vote. Similar to the last one, you'll get to pick your top 2.

Thanks a lot, guys! If you liked the story, please add it to favorites or follows.

Peace Out and see you all next time.
