Authors Note

Hello. Welcome back, everyone. This is chapter 6. We saw in the last chapter that Ash, Red, Serena, Gary, Green, and Leaf have all gone to the summer camp. We experienced whatever went down on the first day of camp. In this chapter, we'll get to see another day of camp. In this chapter, I'll introduce the rivalry between Ash, Red, and Gary. If I can, I'll squeeze in Serena getting hurt and Ash and Red helping her. Otherwise, that'll come in the next chapter, which will also be the final chapter of the summer camp section.

For those that reviewed the previous chapters, I've sent you a PM answering any questions you had and such. For those that use guest accounts while reviewing, I'll answer your questions and reply to your reviews in the Authors Note at the beginning of each chapter. There have been no new guest reviews since the last chapter.

With that said, The poll for Red's starter Pokemon was supposed to end when this chapter got published, but I'm in a slight predicament as 3 of the options are now tied for first place. I don't want to do a random generator, so I'm going to give one more week to see if anyone votes and breaks the tie. So basically, one more week for Red's poll to try to break the tie. If the tie isn't broken, then I'm just gonna pick my favorite from the ones that tied for first.

After the next chapter is finished, the poll for Red's starter will be turned off and that'll be the final decision for Red's starter Pokemon. I'll reopen Ash's poll and give it about another week (maybe a week and a half) to make it fairer, and the results at the end of that week will be final. After that, I think I'll move on to the pairings poll for Ash. And I'll alternate between the polls for Ash and Red (switching every week).

Ok. Let's get on to the story.

-In another dimension far far away-

"YESS, MY POWER IS STEADILY GROWING," Shadow thought. "I NOW HAVE ENOUGH TO COMMUNICATE WITH MY GENERALS AND BUILD UP MY ARMY." Shadow lost to himself as he felt his increase in power over the last couple of years. He now had about 25% of his power back. It was just enough for him to send thoughts and messages over to his allies. He thought it would be easy to destroy the Earth, and wanted to send his army immediately to conquer Aura's favorite creation. His army consisted of many humans, giving him lots of inside information from their world, as well as lots of Pokemon and Ultra Beasts as well. Ultra Beasts were special creatures that lived in their own special world called Ultra Space.

He was busy making preparation when he felt a presence in his mind. The presence was one of his most loyal assassins. "Master, I have received news from Earth. The chosen ones have already been born," his minions' voice said in his mind.

"THE CHOSEN ONES," Shadow asked. "WHO ARE THEY."

"The chosen ones are 2 people born with incredible powers," The assassin said. "Arceus himself has stated that they will be able to awaken Aura and use her powers to defeat you."

"WHAT!" Shadow said, alarmed. "AS IF ANYONE CAN DEFEAT ME."

"Yes my lord," the assassin said. "You are the most powerful being, but I still think we should be safe and eliminate them while they are still young."

"HMMM. YES. YOU ARE QUITE RIGHT." Shadow thought. "YOU MAY GO AND TAKE CARE OF THEM.

"Thank you, Master." The assassin said. "I shall go and dispose of them right away." Shadow soon felt the presence leave his mind. He laughed before leaning back and going back to sleep, satisfied that the only ones with the power to stop him would no longer be alive. He would finally have the chance to rule the entire world. Starting with the worthless Planet Earth.

-Pallet Town Late Night-

It was about 10 pm. The whole of Pallet Town was dark and silent. Except for Delia, everyone else already sleeping. She was just returning from Professor Oak's Lab, where she had gone in order to pick up Ash and Red. The two twins had decided to stay back longer after the second day of camp ended, in order to become better friends with the Pokemon living at the lab.

While they were walking back home, Delia couldn't help but feel that something was wrong. The ominous feeling sent shivers down her spine as she tried to convince herself that she was wrong. Suddenly she heard a sound of twigs breaking behind her. She stopped and looked back. To her surprise, no one was there. "What was that sound, Mommy," Ash asked, worried.

"Is someone following us," Red asked, clinging tightly to Delia.

"No. I think we just imagined it," Delia said. "After all, it is quite late and we're all getting sleepy." The sons nodded nervously and moved on. A couple of minutes later, they heard the noise again. This time, a couple of Nidoran and Rattata ran past them screeching with fright. "What could have made them so scared." Delia wondered. Suddenly, she saw a flash of movement out of the corner of her eyes.

She quickly grabbed her children and pushed them out of the way before a large bulky form rammed right through the spot they were just standing in. Sensing the movement, the automatic street lights turned on, illuminating the figure. Looking at the figure, she realized that it was a Pokemon. Not just any Pokemon, but a Dragonite, which was a pseudo legendary. Dragonite roared at her, looking in the direction of her children with angry, red eyes. Behind the Pokemon stood a human. He was wearing a dark suit with pitch-black armor plates on the shoulders. He also had a holster on his hips as well as a knife sheath attached to his pants.

"Who are you," Delia asked.

"A servant of Shadow. Hand over the children now!" He commanded.

"No! I'll never let you take them." Delia said, hiding them behind her back.

"Don't be stupid," The man said advancing forward. "Give them to me, before I have to hurt you."

"I don't care," Delia said definitely.

"So be it," The man said. "Dragonite, use your Hyper Beam attack." Dragonite leaned back and opened his mouth. In a couple of moments, he leaned forwards again and shot a powerful beam of Golden energy towards Delia.

Delia closed her eyes, thinking that she would finally be reunited with her husband. Suddenly, a large blue sphere flew out of the woods and collided with the Hyper Beam. After a second of fighting for dominance, the sphere of energy won out. It broke through the attack and rammed into Dragonite, throwing him backward.

"What the-" the man said. "What was that." He looked around the street, but there was no one in sight. "Show yourself, you coward," He shouted. Some chuckling was heard before two figures jumped out of the treetops and landed in front of Delia. One of them was a human being while the other was a biped Pokemon of the same height.

"Who are you," the man said. "You have no business here. Leave."

"I am Sir Riley of the Aura Guardians," Riley stated. Delia looked towards him in surprise. This man had the same powers as her husband.

"Ha, you think you can take me on," Shadow's servant laughed. "Shadow shall always triumph." He then threw out 5 more Pokeballs revealing more pseudo legendaries. Riley just smirked and raised his hand towards the Pokemon. Lucario by his side copied his actions. In just a moment 2 spheres of blue energy formed around their hands. Lucario and Riley brought their hands to their back before throwing the aura spheres at the opponent. Each sphere split into 3 smaller ones, taking out all 6 Pokemon at the same time.

"H-How," The man said. "This isn't over, Guarding of Aura," The man growled. "My master will awaken soon, and when he does, he will destroy this whole world, and Aura along with it," He laughed. "Just you wait," he said before he turned around and vanished into the darkness.

The aura guardian looked towards Ash and Red and smiled. "Take good care of them, Delia," He said before he and Lucario jumped into the treetops and disappeared from sight.

Delia only had time to nod, before they continued on the way. When they got home, Delia quickly sent Ash and Red to bed, and then went to sleep herself, wondering what the man had wanted with her children.

-Time skip to right before camp starts-

"Ash, Red," Delia called frantically. "Hurry up! You'll be late for camp." After last night's ordeal, the whole family was tired, and Delia had allowed Ash and Red to sleep in. They had ended up sleeping a lot longer than she had expected and now, they were about to be late to their 3rd day of Summer Camp.

Delia smiled at her fond memories from yesterday. The twins had come home from their second day of camp and immediately told her everything that happened. They recalled how Professor Oak gave them information on Pokemon moves, and dual typed Pokemon, and also showed them some Geodude. He had explained to the students that Geodude was a ground and rock time.

They even found out that some Pokemon can change types or gain another type after evolving. For this, he showed them another trainer's Butterfree, which turns from bug type to bug and flying type after evolving from Metapod.

After this, the class had a competition, in which they were shown pictures of Pokemon and had to guess what type they were. Ash and Red won the competition. Delia clearly remembered the smile on her son's faces when they came home with the certificate for winning.

Suddenly, she was thrown out of her stupor by a crash as the twins came rolling down the stairs. "Are you all right," Delia asked worriedly.

Ash and Red turned red with embarrassment before laughing. "Yea, we're ok," Ash said. They quickly stuffed down a quick breakfast of cereal shaped like the Beast Trio and then grabbed their bags. Delia quickly dropped them off with only a couple minutes to spare. Right as they reached the lab, Professor Oak showed up to start the camp, and Ash and Red sighed with relief.

Professor Oak led them inside back into the same classroom as before where they sat down in their seats. "Ok class, welcome to your third day of Summer Camp," Professor Oak said. "Today, we'll be covering how to take care of your Pokemon while on a journey." This was something the class was looking forward to, as just about everyone wanted to go on a journey when they got older.

"Many times, trainers won't be able to get their Pokemon to a center in order to heal them," Professor Oak said. "For times like these, it is necessary for you all to know how to provide basic treatment for your Pokemon." He pulled out his own copy of the textbook and said, "We will first read the third chapter of the book, before going outside and getting a demonstration. Leaf! Why don't you start reading today."

"Ok Professor," Leaf said. "Chapter 3, Basic treatment for Pokemon. The smart Pokemon trainer should always stock up on status healers such as antidotes and paralyze heals, along with multiple potions," She read. "Potions heal a small amount of the Pokemons health, while antidotes and paralyze heals cure them of poison and paralysis respectively. Do note that none of these will completely heal your Pokemon, meaning you should get them to the Pokemon center as soon as you can."

"Thank you, Leaf. How about you read next, Julie," Professor Oak said. This kept going until they finished half of the chapter. After that Professor Oak took them outside and gave them small electronic devices, which had a virtual battle simulator. They would have to battle with the simulation Pokemon and try to defeat it. After that, they would choose the appropriate type of potion (excluding Full Restore) to use on the Pokemon depending on how much damage was done. They also determined which status curer they would need to use.

After completing the simulation, they went inside to have lunch and then read from the chapter again. The second half of the chapter told about all sorts of berries and what effect they would have on the Pokemon. They also learned how to distinguish one berry from another and where all the different types of berries could be found. After this, they did the same simulation, in which only berries could be used, excluding Lum Berries.

This was their final lesson for the day, and the class was over by 4:00. Because of this, Professor Oak gave them the rest of the day to have fun and do as they please. He brought out fishing rods for those that wanted to fish and invited lots of Pokemon for everyone to play with. Ash, Red, and Gary immediately ran to the fishing rods. All three of them had never fished before and were looking forward to trying it out.

They grabbed the rods and headed to the stream flowing through the ranch. They spent the next 15 minutes trying to fish but weren't getting a single bite.

"Ugh, what gives," Gary said, pulling out his fishing line.

"Yea. I didn't realize that fishing would be this hard" Ash agreed, throwing his rod down onto the grass.

Red wiped some sweat off his forehead and said, "Man! Maybe we should just go back and play with all the Pokemon."

"Let's just give it a couple more minutes and see what happens," Ash said. The three returned to their spots and once again threw in their fishing lines.

"In a couple of seconds, Ash felt his rod get heavier. "Hey, I've got a bite guys," he said happily.

"Really," Gary asked before he felt a tug on his own line. "Hey wait a minute. Me too!"

"Wow I haven't gotten anything yet," Red said. Suddenly his rod almost went flying into the water. "Woah, he exclaimed, did I get a bite too?"

"Wow isn't this great," Ash said happily. "All three of us got a bite. Now we just have to reel in the fishing line and bring the Pokemon outside."

"I think it might be a Magikarp," Gary said. "Gramps has a lot of those in the stream."

"Well, we'll find out soon," Red said.

They quickly pulled on the line as the tugging increased. Suddenly the object flew into the air, with all 3 fishing hooks attached to the object. They quickly realized that they had all hooked the same thing, and it wasn't a Pokemon. The object turned out to be an old Pokeball. It had multiple holes in it and the coloring was faded in many sections.

"Hey look at what I got," Gary exclaimed. "A Pokeball."

"Excuse me!" Ash said, "But I was the one who hooked the Pokeball."

"Hey! It was because of me that we managed to pull it out in the first place," Red said angrily.

"Was not," Gary said.

"Was too," Red answered.

"It's mine," Ash said.

Ash, Red, and Gary all shouted and ran at the Pokeball, trying to get to it first. They all got there at the same time and grabbed the ball.

"Let go Ash," Gary screamed. "It's my Pokeball."

"No way," Ash yelled. "I deserve to keep the ball more than you."

"Shut up, both of you," Red screamed. "Gimme the ball, Gary!"

The shouting and fighting quickly attracted the attention of the professor and the other students who ran over to see what the commotion was. "Now just calm down, all of you," Professor Oak exclaimed, trying to get the fighting to stop. The other students quickly grabbed Ash, Red, and Gary, and yanked them apart. As they landed on the ground the Pokeball burst into 3 parts. The boys looked at the small pieces before picking up the one closest to them.

"Well, it looks like we all get to keep part of it," Ash exclaimed.

"Fine by me," Red said, smiling.

"Me, too, but this is the last time I'm ever gonna tie with you guys!" Gary exclaimed.

"Does that mean we're rivals from now on," Ash asked with a smirk.

"It does and we are," Gary said.

"Oh, you're on," Red said.

The 3 friends glared at each other for a second, before they dropped it and burst into laughter. They were glad that they all got a small part of their first catch. Soon the school day came to an end, and everyone returned home. Ash, Red, and Gary quickly went to sleep, promising that they would keep their part of the Pokeball as a reminder of their friendship and their new rivalry, forever.

And there it is. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. It took me a lot longer than usual to write this chapter, cause I really wasn't sure where I wanted to start. I hope you liked the idea of bringing Riley in again, and another sneak peek at Shadow and his plans.

The next chapter will be the 5th day of Summer Camp, and it'll show the usual Serena gets hurt and Ash and Red save her stuff. Will Serena develop a crush on Ash or Red cause of this? I don't know. We'll see.

As I said in the last chapter, I will be needing OC's in this story in the future. The first OC will come after maybe 3-4 chapters in Viridian City, and I'd like to thank GA Pokemon Fan, as well as Northstar Pokeshipper for letting me use their OC's. If anyone wants to help me by giving me more OC's, please do PM me or send me your OC as a review.

All I'm asking for the OC is some basic information such as full name, hometown, home region, age, Pokemon team, personality, occupation (What they want to become, such as trainer, coordinator, performer, etc). At the same time, I'm not accepting any OC gym leaders or Elite 4s or Champions (unless they were one of these in the past and no longer are or are trying to become one). OC's will be greatly appreciated. Please try to make sure your OC's are not very overpowered, since I'm still early on in the story and will need mostly weaker characters at this point in time.

Ok, that's about it! I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Please remember to review, ask any questions you have, give suggestions, and vote in the poll. Constructive criticism will be greatly appreciated, as it'll help me become a better writer. If you guys liked the story, then please do favorite the story or follow it. Thanks!

Peace Out and see you all next time.
