Time Period: A Flashback

Special Event: Sarah's 30th birthday

Scene 1: The Driveway

Eleven year old John (directing Sarah): Please stand right here, mommy

Sarah (wearing a blindfold): I can't see anything

John: Please don't take off your blindfold. Papa has a surprise for you.

Sarah (excited): I wonder what your dad has brought me

Kyle (untying Sarah's blindfold): Surprise!

Sarah (thrilled): You brought me a car

Kyle: Do you like your birthday gift?

Sarah (hugging and kissing Kyle): Yes, honey. I love you.

Kyle (touching Sarah's cheek): I love you too

Sarah (checking her watch): The time is drawing close for my doctor appointment. I don't want to be late for it.

Kyle: I will drive you to your appointment

Sarah: Thanks

(Riding in Sarah's new car, Kyle and Sarah drop off John at a neighbor's house. They are expecting to receive good news from the doctor regarding the possibility of having a second child. They have longed and tried for a second child since John's fifth birthday (happened six years ago)).

Scene: The Doctor's office

The doctor: Hello Sarah and Kyle

Kyle and Sarah (sitting down in chairs): Hello

The doctor: How may I help you?

Sarah (squeezing Kyle's hand): Yesterday I took a pregnancy test. The test results were inconclusive.

The doctor: I may need to perform blood tests in order to get a definite clear answer for you. Do I have your permission to perform these tests?

Sarah: Absolutely yes

Kyle: I support my wife

Doctor: ok

(The doctor performs the blood tests. Kyle and Sarah wait anxiously for the test results.)

Scene: The Doctor's office

Doctor (sitting down in a desk chair): I have your test results at last

Sarah (anxious and nervous): I wonder if I am pregnant

Doctor (reading the test results): Unfortunately, you are not pregnant.

Sarah (choked up): I understand

Doctor: You are thirty now. Your biological clock has stopped. Time and Endometriosis prevented you from having another child. It will be medically impossible for you to get pregnant again.

Sarah (fighting back tears): I understand

Kyle (rushing Sarah out of the doctor's office): We thank for your service but we must go, doc

Doctor: Have a nice day

(Solemn, Kyle and Sarah picks up John from their neighbor's house. John doesn't have a clue about what transpired at the doctor's office)

Scene: Kyle and Sarah's bedroom

Sarah (crying herself to sleep): I am barren and worthless. I am so sorry, Kyle.

Kyle (rubbing Sarah's back): You are not worthless. I will always love you even if we can't have anymore babies.

(Passionately, Sarah kisses Kyle and he can't resist her. Kyle offers Sarah sex as another birthday gift. Sex gets Sarah's mind off her baby blues (aka fertility issues)).

Special Event: John's 30th birthday

Scene: The Connor Reese Residence

Sarah (presents John with a birthday cake): Happy 30th birthday, John

John: Thanks, Mom

Sarah: You are welcome

Kyle (singing in unison with Derek and Sarah): Happy birthday

(John blows out his candles then. He wishes for a sibling (perhaps a sister) along with a wife and kids).

Time Period: An Alternate Universe

Date: 12-20-2020

Special Event: The 30th birthday of Kitty Connor aka KC (born 12-20-1990)

Sarah (guiding Kitty into the dinning room): We are going to build gingerbread houses, KC

Kitty (excited): I can't wait

(Sarah pulls out a laptop instead of materials for the gingerbread houses. Kitty is totally lost and confused. Sarah can sense Kitty's confusion).

Sarah (logging into zoom): I have planned a zoom 30th birthday celebration for you. We are not going to build gingerbread houses.

Kitty (thrilled): Thanks, mom

Sarah (getting Kitty hooked up to a headset): You are welcome, my precious Christmas baby

(Kitty receives birthday wishes from her friends and John + his family (a wife and kids)).
