Haven't posted in awhile. Thought I'd just update this. Hope ya like it!
Sage perched himself on his courtyard chair looking out at the cascades in the distance. He had seen Apollo scurry out of the area and was puzzled why. Nonetheless, he ignored the fact and continued scoping out the area for its beauty. It had been awhile since he had first set foot here and everything was starting to shape how he wanted it. But he felt like exploring. He wanted to see what was beyond just his island. Tom Nook had talked about going to islands and finding villagers. He'd arrived here via the airport and Wilbur could take him to other deserted islands.
After Sage got 15 Nook Mile Tickets, he headed off to the airport. Orville greeted him with a pleasant smile and Sage handed over a ticket. Orville then escorted him on to the DAL plane and Wilbur smiled at him. Sage sat comfortably in his seat and prepared to be lifted off and taken to other islands.
He had recently been preparing his island for reshaping. He'd cleaned up the mass amount of weeds that spread across his island. He'd picked up all the logs of wood that had been scattered around the place. Large star shaped holes had been removed from the ground and all fossils and discoveries went straight to the museum, which was currently accepting donations. Sage was excited for when he could talk to Isabelle about the rating of his island, which he wanted to be up to a 3 star so he could start terraforming.
Suddenly, the plane came to a jolt. Sage grabbed onto the arm rests.
"Oop, sorry there, kiddo." Wilbur said, peering back from the cockpit. Sage smiled back at him. "All good."
"We're here now. Now go catch some bees and chop some trees!" Sage chuckled and hopped out of the plane.
To give you a good display of the island, it was pretty much deserted. Except for the small campfires lodged in between sprouting weeds and the odd workbench in case of tools breaking. Sage didn't mind. All he was here for was a villager.
The first 5 villagers he found were duds. They bored him and one ignored his friendly suggestion to talk. But his sixth find was immaculate. Out popped Diedre from the trees. She smiled and shook Sage's hand, telling him about her crappy life back at her old island. Sage suggested moving to Cascade Cove and Diedre agreed almost immediately. They beamed at each other, and parted ways. Sage was excited for Diedre's arrival back at Cascade Cove.
The next 3 villagers were also boring. Sage didn't even bother going up to one. But after that, he was greeted with a large "HELLO!". Sage later learnt it was Marty. Marty was cheery and energetic, he wouldn't stop talking. Sage took that into account and asked Marty to move to Cascade Cove. He didn't even have to think about it.
Sage was wary to use up his last tickets. He was scared to find more duds and have Tom Nook fill the plots with villagers he disliked. But his prayers were answered on his last ticket. He met Goldie. A shimmering face with a bright mind. She greeted Sage with a large hug and it escalated (in a good way) from there. He felt an aura of happiness around her. Goldie wanted to move in straight away. Sage said goodbye and she was off, packing her bags at her old island.
Sage returned to Cascade Cove in a overjoyed mood. With no remaining nook mile tickets but 3 full plots, Sage knocked on Butch's door to exclaim the good news to his best pal.
"I got us 3 new residents!" Sage said sipping tea that Butch had brought to him.
"Good work, Sage! I'm proud of you!" Butch said, patting him on the back.
The next day came quickly as Sage wanted it to. Diedre moved in just next door to Butch and already made a good impression on everyone around her. Audie and Diedre became friends swiftly, exchanged NookPhone Numbers and calling daily. The others on the island greeted her in a friendly way too. Raymond was surprisingly welcoming. although he did talk about his accomplishments a bit more than needed.
Next came Marty. He was cheery and especially liked hanging out with Drake, which Sage assumed was because they were both lazy. Deidre and Marty had been friends before Sage had met them both so it was good to see them meeting up again. Sage loved to see Drake and Marty rest under a tree and watch Kody Naruto run around them.
Then everything lead up to the arrival of Goldie. Sage didn't want to be biased, but he was a lot more excited for Goldie to come than for the others. She was an instant hit when she arrived, people being overjoyed to see her. Even Raymond! Butch and Goldie hit it off instantly. Sage would see them chuckling about something over the cascades. With a full island, Sage realized that it was time. time to start cleaning up and preparing. For he had a dream, in which he wanted to accomplish.
Tomorrow was something in which he had invented. A 'cleaning' day, where he would pluck all the weeds off the island, pick randomized logs off the ground and take the fruits off the trees. Butch had agreed to help him and so had Leonardo. Goldie had said she wanted to, but was arranging to go exploring in the cascades.
When nightfall drew in, Sage tucked up into bed. His island was brimmed with people that made him happy (except for the slight rivalry he had with Raymond). An eager smile spread across his face, and he fell asleep.
But that night, across the island river, lay Apollo, still in trauma from a week ago. He hadn't told a soul, but was beginning to think he needed to. He heard the roars echoing in his head from that night and remained calm to prevent a breakdown. He fell asleep in worry, that whatever he had heard..was coming for him.
