Welcome back, everyone. This is chapter 10 of The Chosen Ones' Journey: Kanto Arc. In the last chapter, we saw Ash and Red go off to the forest after their birthday celebrations. While playing in the forest, they hear an explosion and encounter an injured Pichu. Suddenly, a Pokemon Poacher appears and tries to take Pichu from them. When they refuse, he attacks, only for Sir Riley to show up once again and defeat the Poacher, saving Ash, Red, and Pichu. He explains to the twins about Aura and takes them on as his apprentices before Mew shows up and gives the twins a gift for their willingness to help the injured Pichu. Pichu returns home, realizing that there are good humans in this world.

Polls:
Ash's starter: Pikachu and Riolu
Red's starter: Charmander
After leaving the poll up for another week, the tie between Charmander and Bulbasaur has been broken. These are the final results:
Charmander: 10
Bulbasaur: 8
Axew: 7
Poliwag: 5
Eevee: 3
Squirtle: 1
So yea. Everything's worked out. Red will get Charmander, Leaf will get Bulbasaur, Eevee will go to Elaine. I feel like Charmander is kind of iconic to Red, so it would seem weird to give him Bulbasaur over Charmander. For Ash, both Pikachu and Riolu are iconic, one of them being his starter in the anime, and the other because Ash can use Aura in the anime as well (Pokemon Lucario and the Mystery of Mew). Because of that, I'm going to be giving him both towards the start of his adventure, but not both will be received from Professor Oak as starter Pokemon.
OC: Chris Kasper (view chapter 8 ending author's note for more info)
Let's get started...
-Mount Silver-
It was about 9 am in the morning, and the sun was just beginning to rise over a small house located at the foot of Mount Silver. Inside his bedroom, Chris was sleeping fitfully, with Eevee snuggled up beside him.
Suddenly, a loud scream pierced the silence of the morning. Chris shot up from his bed wide awake, only to find his mom in the doorway looking in horror at the brown creature snuggled up beside him.
"Chris, Why do you have that thing sleeping next to you," his mom screamed.
"That thing has a name mom," Chris said. "This is my new friend Eevee."
"It looks injured. What happened to her," Chris's mom asked.
And so, Chris recounted last night's events, smiling fondly at Eevee, still sleeping on his bed. Once the story was over, Chris's mom was surprised but quite proud of what her son had done. "I'm glad you helped her out, Chris," his mom said. "But will your dad be ok with the Pokemon staying with us?"
"Well, I was thinking that we would release her when she is feeling better," Chris said sadly. "I don't think she would want to stay with humans anyway."
"Ok, let's go and see what your dad says," Chris's mom said. Together they walked to the dining room. There, they found Chris's dad reading the newspaper while sipping on his coffee.
"Umm, dad," Chris said nervously. "See the thing is, I found an injured Pokemon yesterday and brought it inside to take care of it.
"WHAT?" Chris's dad questioned. "Pokemon in our house. Get it outside immediately."
"But Dad, it's injured, the other Pokemon here are too strong for it," Chris said. At that moment, a small purring noise was heard from Chris's room.
"Euivee," Eevee said, yawning as she finally woke up. She slowly got up, feeling her arms and legs. Stumbling a couple of times, she slowly made her way off the bed and out the door towards the sound of the boy that had saved her.
"Eevee!" Chris exclaimed. "Are you feeling better now?" Eevee let out a happy purr before jumping into Chris's arms.
"Please, dad?" Chris asked.
"All right fine," Chris's dad grumbled, "But keep it away from me."
"Thanks a lot, dad," Chris said happily. "Hey Eevee, do you want to stay with us? If not, we'll make sure you find a safe place to call home."
"Vui," Eevee said, licking Chris's face.
"So looks like you and I are partners now, huh Eevee," Chris asked. "Hmmm, I wonder what I should name you."
"Vui, ee-Vui," Eevee said, pointing her paw to the jug of water on the table.
"Huh," Chris questioned. "Oh wait, you want to evolve into Vaporeon, the water type Eeveelution, right?" Eevee smiled and nodded. "Ok so how about Ariel," Chris said, as Eevee smiled.
"Ariel it is then," Chris said. "Welcome to the family Ariel. We're gonna become great friends."
-Pallet Town-
"Ash, Red, wake up," Delia called from downstairs, noticing the clock about to strike 9:00. Some grumbling was heard upstairs before it was once again replaced by heavy snoring. Delia sighed to herself before walking up the stairs into their room. "Wake up boys," she said. "It's already 9:00."
"Just 5 more minutes mom," Ash grumbled while Red grunted in agreement.
"ASH AND RED!" Delia screamed. "GET UP THIS INSTANT." With that, Ash and Red finally got up.
"Mom, why'd u wake us up so early," Red said.
"Look at the time, you boys have to go meet Sir Riley for your aura training in half an hour!" Delia said. That completely woke the boys up, who jumped out of bed.
"Oh no Red, let's hurry up and get ready," Ash said, as the two boys ran to the bathroom to wash their faces.
"There isn't enough time for you to eat now," Delia said. "I'll go and pack your breakfast for you to eat on the way." The boy quickly gave their mother a hug as they pulled on their clothes. Walking into the kitchen, Delia prepared two sandwiches, which the brothers started munching on as they headed out the door.
"Bye mom," Ash called behind him
"See you later," Red continued as the twins sprinted out of the house and down the path to the Pallet Town Woods.
"So Red," Ash questioned. "What do you think Riley will be teaching us today?"
"I don't know, Ash," Red said, "But I sure hope he teaches us how to throw those big blue balls though."
"Yeah me too," Ash said. "Let's ask him to teach us that first." Even more excited at the prospect of learning how to use aura spheres, the boys sped up their pace. A little while later, they had reached the same clearing that they had met Sir Riley, Pichu, and Mew in the day before, with a couple of minutes to spare.
"Huh?" Ash asked, looking around the empty area.
"Where's Sir Riley," Red asked.
"Ahhh So you came," A voice said from behind them. Ash and Red turned around to look at the Aura Guardian.
"Yea, We want to use Aura," Ash said ecstatically.
"Can you teach us how to throw an aura sphere?" Red asked, just as excited as Ash.
Sir Riley chuckled at them before his face grew more stern. "Now listen up boys," he commanded. "From this day onwards, you are my students, therefore you must promise me that you will work hard and obey any command I give without hesitation."
"Yes Sir," the boys said.
"Good. Training to become an Aura Guardian isn't for everyone," Sir Riley continued. "It will take tremendous effort. Every day, you will be pushed past your limits. Do you understand?" He asked.
"Yes sir."
"Good! Then it's time to train you in the ways of the Aura Guardians," Sir Riley said. "While you are learning from me, you must refer to me as Teacher or Sensei, is that clear?"
"Yes teacher," the boys muttered, slightly put off by their teacher's strictness.
"Many times you'll hate us. Sometimes you'll want to kill us," Sir Riley continued. "I know this because back when I was a student, I wanted to do the same thing many times."
"But. The two of you have the potential to become the greatest Aura Guardians in history, and Lucario and I are going to help you reach that goal," Sir Riley continued. "From now on, your days of having fun and playing with your friends are over." The twins glanced at each other, before nodding.
"I have heard that you both eat a lot more than necessary. Well, that's going to stop from today," Sir Riley said. Ash and Red paled and looked towards each other. They had already started wondering what they would have for lunch. "From now on you will eat only what is required, and I will be letting Delia know as well," he continued.
"When we are done training you, you will have complete mastery over your aura," Sir Riley said. "No one will be able to defeat you in any form of combat. Are you prepared?"
"Yes teacher," Both boys said nodding.
"Good! Your path in the ways of the Aura Guardian has begun," Sir Riley said, cracking a smile for the first time since the beginning of his speech.
"So when do we begin, teacher?" Ash asked.
"Yea! Can we start right away?" Red asked.
"We shall start tomorrow, boys," Sir Riley said smiling. "Today was just an invitation day."
"Ok, what time should we come, teacher?" Red asked.
"Same as today. Tomorrow you will start your training. I'll see you tomorrow," Sir Riley answered, before walking back into the depths of the forest.
-In another dimension far far away-
"YESS, I HAVE RECOVERED HALF MY POWER," Shadow thought. "THE TIME FOR PREPARATIONS HAS BEGUN." Looking towards the bars of his cage, he shot a blast of dark energy at them. For the first time, the bars rattled but didn't break. "HMMM. JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE," Shadow thought.
"NECROZMA!" he yelled. "I SUMMON YOU BEFORE ME." Outside his cage, a dark, crystalline shape suddenly appeared out of thin air.
"Master, it is so nice to hear from you again," Necrozma said. "I am very glad to see you are regaining your power."
"AS AM I, NECROZMA," Shadow said. "I HAVE CALLED YOU HERE TODAY TO DISCUSS SOMETHING OF VITAL IMPORTANCE WITH YOU."
"Of course, Master," Necrozma said. "What is it you wish to discuss."
"IN TEN MORE YEARS, I SHALL BE AT FULL POWER," Shadow said. "WHEN THIS HAPPENS, WE SHALL ONCE AGAIN RESUME OUR CONQUEST, STARTING WITH AURA'S FAVORITE, PLANET EARTH."
"Ahh yes," Necrozma said, remembering the times when Shadow and his Ultra Beast army were the feared creatures in existence. "The ultra beasts are looking forward to their revenge against Aura."
"AND THAT IS WHY I HAVE CALLED YOU HERE TODAY," Shadow continued. "THE ULTRA BEAST ARMY HAS BEEN INACTIVE SINCE THAT TIME EONS AGO, AND THE TIME HAS COME FOR THEM TO COME BACK."
"Yes it has, Master," Necrozma acknowledged.
"I WANT YOU TO GATHER UP EVERY LAST ULTRA BEAST," Shadow commanded. "YOU HAVE THE NEXT 9 YEARS TO INCREASE THE ULTRA BEAST RANKS BEFORE WE BEGIN OUR JOURNEY TO EARTH."
"Yes, Master. Your orders shall be followed." Necrozma said, before disappearing from the dark dimension.
"SOON. VERY SOON. THE ENTIRE WORLD WILL BE IN RUINS," Shadow thought. "EVERY LIVING CREATURE WILL BOW BEFORE ME, OR BE DESTROYED," he chuckled. "EVERYTHING AURA STANDS FOR WILL BE DESTROYED. STARTIN WITH THAT WORTHLESS PLANTER EARTH."
And that's that. Hope you guys enjoyed the chapter. I know it's a bit shorter than usual, but I didn't have as much time for this chapter since my SAT classes started this week and are about 6 hours a day not counting the time I need to do homework and practice tests. My classes are for the next 3 weeks, so those chapters may end up getting a bit delayed or may be shorter than the usual chapter. Sorry about that, But I'll definitely account for it in the later chapter.
Quick summary: Chris manages to convince his parents to let the injured Eevee stay with him, who agrees to be Chris's first Pokemon. Upon realizing that she wants to evolve into Vaporeon, he decides to name her Ariel. Meanwhile, Ash and Red have begun their path to being Masters at using Aura, and Riley has just initiated them as his students, giving them an idea of how tough their training is going to be. In another dimension, Shadow, who has finally recovered half of his power, has called Necrozma, the leader of the Ultra Beasts, and has commanded Necrozma to start building up The Ultra Beast Army to destroy the whole world.
Due to the low number of fanfics about the Torren Region, I might have the main characters visit the Torren Region before going to the Orange Archipelago (wow, I'm getting way too ahead of myself).
OC form (Can also be found on my profile):
First of all, I'd like to thank Xanran, who has given me my next OC. At his request, the Torren Region will be included in my story. For those of you that don't know, there is a fan-made Pokemon game called Pokemon Insurgence, based on a fanmade region called the Torren Region.
If anyone wants to help me by giving me more OC's, please do PM me or send me your OC as a review. You're definitely welcome to give multiple OC's if you would like to. It would be a big help!

Description: Describe how they look, clothes they wear, battling style, stuff like that
Occupation: trainer, coordinator, performer, etc (NO GYM LEADERS OR ELITE 4'S UNLESS THEY WERE ONE IN THE PAST). If it's someone like Serena who hasn't decided yet, you could state that, but make sure you let me know the decision later.
Please try to make sure your OC's are not very overpowered, since I'm still early on in the story and will need mostly weaker characters at this point in time.
There's also something I'd like to ask you all. I recently received a couple of PMs telling me that I was going too slowly. Honestly, my whole plan was to go slow and include more details, something that many fanfics out there don't do. I'd like to urge you guys to let me know what you all think. Should I start leaving out some details in order to speed up the process? Do you want me to continue writing the way I have so far, or should I jump to them starting their journey? Please do let me know. Thanks!
Polls:
So I thought about it a lot, and I feel like I'm really rushing the polls. I mean, they're 10, and they won't be thinking about romance for a long time, so there's no point publishing the polls for pairings this early. They aren't going to be getting an Eevee anytime soon either, so I don't want to put up the poll for Eeveelutions right now either, so for now, there are gonna be no polls to vote in.
This takes me back to the previous polls. Based on my current plans, there are 3 more chapters (so 3 more weeks) before the one in which they get their starter Pokemon and begin their journey. So, I have left Red's poll up on my profile. After this, it'll be empty except for the occasional poll on which Pokemon the main characters should catch next.
Ok, that's about it! I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Please remember to review, ask any questions you have, give suggestions, and vote in the polls. Constructive criticism will be greatly appreciated, as it'll help me become a better writer. If you guys liked the story, then please do favorite the story or follow it. Thanks!
Peace Out and see you all next time.
