Chapter 1: Old Faces

It all started as a typical day for 36-year-old Marinette Dupain-Cheng.

Waking up at seven o'clock for work and making a hasty breakfast of toast and coffee, she headed to the office she worked at as a designer.

It was a good job that paid well, but the hours were long and sometimes Marinette wished there was a little more variety. Lunch hour came and went, with croissants and conversation, and until 5 in the evening, she spent her time drawing, processing, talking to clients, and the like.
Then, Marinette took the metro home, like she did those days, because it was raining in Paris. She reached her house in the neighbourhood, and got changed into her nightgown. She made herself another cup of coffee, called her parents to check on them, and then sat down with a good book in hand.

It was seven at night, and it had begun to rain. Marinette was still reading her book, when there was a knock on the door. Marinette was bemused - who on Earth was calling at this time, and in the midst of a storm?

Marinette listened for another knock. It came, and Marinette opened the door slightly. Perhaps it could be a friend, or a salesman, or a colleague asking for advice, or -

Adrien Agreste?
And his daughter, too?

NOTE: As you may have guessed, this isn't related to MLB: Murder in Lyon. There are no Miraculouses, and there is no Adrienette. Just some Hurt/Comfort, friendship, suspense, and fluff. Stay tuned for Chapter 2.
