Hello everyone !

I prefer to warn you: English is not my native language.

I apologize for the grammatical error and the approximative writing style.

Have a good time !

It's a whole new world

Part 1

The night was beautiful, starry and full of promises. Dozens of constellations told their fabulous legends to the curious mind who looked up at them. None of them, however, interested a wild Eevee with a partially cut ear. He was way too hungry. The trash cans at this sea cottage were only filled with cardboard, metal and boxes of instant noodles. The handyman who lived here, to the great misfortune of Eevee, did not have a very varied diet. Hunger was strangling the stomach of the little pokemon, who was starting to despair. If only the surrounding pidgeys had been friendlier. He could have satisfied himself with the few wild fruits he had spotted, but these birds of ill omen were particularly territorial. He was always ready to fight for his meal, but not against a whole and so fierce flock. He had escaped them only thanks to his high speed, well trained by his years of survival, and mostly of flight. Except that his sprint had only aggravate his hunger in addition to tiring him out. He believed that his instinct had made a mistake for once in advising him to go north of Cerulean City.

Small sparks caught the attention of Eevee and put him on guard. Was there a pikachu? He hadn't seen one since the Viridian forest, but he preferred to avoid reliving an encounter of the same kind. There was a new flash of light, brief and silent. It came from inside the house and was reflected in a window. Eevee's curiosity, used to the din of lightning, was stirred up by this paradox. He jumped dexterously to a second trash can and then an electric meter, until he got to the window sill. The little pokemon lay face down, ears down, hoping to remain discreet. What he saw on the other side surprised him so much that he lifted them up and opened his eyes wide. In the midst of a shambles of iron and copper, a human with an iron mask was using a flamboyant tool which spit sparks on contact with a strange and coarse machine. A mixture of metal pieces and of colored wires which hung down like wild ivy.

The pokémon waved its notched ear looking at this spectacle. He didn't know what was going on, but it did make him forget his hunger for a few moments. The inventor put out his torch and removed his protective mask to wipe the sweat from his innocent-looking face. His gaze showed his unwavering determination. Bill grabbed a small, hanging computer hooked up to his prototype and checked the settings. If the informations his penpal from Sinnoh had given him were true, he was close to accomplishing his objective. After all these years, his Pokemon Storage System would eventually go from a scribbled drawing on a napkin to a concrete and revolutionary machine.

His contact had suggested to use certain frequencies to create quantum tunnels that would allow the transfer of potentially any kind of objects through space-time. It was just a theory, but if it worked, it could also transfer Pokémons to servers and get them from anywhere, he hoped. Maybe even human beings, he dreamed. Perhaps even through time, but he still didn't dare to think about this seriously. When he finished rereading a waterfall of lines of esoteric code, Bill smiled enthusiastically. The machine was ready for a new test. Impatience ran through his veins and almost made him tripped over spare parts as he ran towards his desk, under the slightly amused look of Evoli.

The young man grabbed his old yellow backpack, which had holes in it, and took out a dozen pokéballs which he put cheerfully on the transfer shelf of his creation. He froze when at the bottom he found a scarlet object that pinched his heart: his pokédex. He had never been a good trainer. He loved pokémon like anyone else, but that was not enough to win battles. The humiliation and the pain of his pokémons was still stabbing his heart. He had abandoned his dreams of leagues and badges long ago, but he was sure he would become a famous inventor thanks to his system. He was convinced of it. He threw his bag brutally at the foot of the machine, the red gadget abandoned inside, and went to a large block of metal with buttons and dials.

Bill stopped when he put his hand on a lever. His past experiences had taught him to be careful. He listed in his head if all the security measures had been done. There was no one in the cottage except him. His pokémons were with his grandfather's during his tests. The device would, in theory, only act on the elements on the shelf. The pokeballs were new and of standard manufacturing. The components of the prototype were in perfect condition. The screen of the power supply indicated, with perfect synchronization, the same frequencies as those of his invention. In case of a problem, he had provided a circuit breaker to stop everything with one button. He remembered the last detail: his protective glasses. He hurried to put them on. His ritual ended with a great inspiration, under the curious gaze of Eevee.

The inventor suddenly lowered the lever. The roars of the electronic beast echoed throughout the house. Eevee was more intrigued than worried. The needles were dancing to the rhythm of the energy. Bill stared worriedly at the machine and the pokéballs. Lightning cracked on the shelf. First surprised, the young man's heart fills with hope. He looked at his screen, the frequency of the shelf was changing. It was very subtle but very real. The frequency stabilized. It was not enough. Bill pressed a few buttons and the machine roared even louder. Near the little captivated Eevee, the electric meter started to spit sparks.

There were more lightning bolts on the shelf, zigzagging between the pokéballs like shy little fairies. Their frequency was close to the one the handyman wanted to reach. He needed more power. It was risky, the machine was almost at its maximum. He was too close to stop there. Bill pressed one more button. The needles froze at the ends of their dials, like crushed by the energy they indicated. The room light began to flash. The inventor saw his smile widen. The shelf was at the right frequency. It lit up like a Christmas decoration. The inventor lifted the cover of a large red button and pressed it cheerfully. The transfer started. A wave of energy and informations passed through the device at the desired frequency.

For the young man, there was only electric clicking and the roar of his device, but in a higher dimension of existence, it was like a high-pitched and aggressive scream. Two entities older than life itself howled in turn. Their howl of rage echoed to the place where space and time were twisted. For the inventor, it was an unexpected sound. Eevee, on the other hand, shivered. His animal instinct drowned him in terror like he was facing a raging storm. There was an explosion of iridescent light, a tsunami of power which traversed the whole earth and then there was silence.

The young inventor dared not open his eyes. He feared what he would discover. When he did it, there was only darkness. He explored it with his hands and found a familiar surface. His fingers scanned his desk until he fell on a flashlight, which he had kept for this kind of situation. It allowed him to advance without too much concern towards the fuse box of his house. They were all grilled. Not surprised, he simply changed them as quickly as possible and restored the power. Once done, he rushed to his prototype. At first incredulous, he went into euphoria when he discovered what was missing. The shelf was empty. There was no longer any trace of pokéballs. He grabbed his PC to check the results and his mind got from enthusiasm to confusion.

The machine was indeed connected to its server, but the list of transferable items indicated there was absolutely nothing on it. He checked the connection several times and restarted his PC. Still the same result. He searched everywhere in his laboratory to be sure until the conclusion that worried him imposed to his mind. The pokéballs were gone and he had no idea where they were. Did he just atomize them? His system could not work with such a dangerous method. He sighed in despair.

The inventor studied the records on his PC and opened his eyes wide. The sensors were affirmative, a quantum disturbance had taken place, not just an explosion of energy. Several theories jostled in his mind. The one that his scientific mind retained as the most plausible was that he had accidentally successfully teleported the pokéballs to an unknown location. The young scientist's mind caught fire. He couldn't give up now. He still hadn't figured out how to produce his pokemon storage system. But on the other hand, he had figured out how not to do it and found a sign that space could indeed be manipulated. All of his calculations indicated that it was possible. He only had to use the results recorded by his PC to redo them with new variables and a new approach. He felt lucky in the end. His experience had an unexpected but encouraging result, and he had only lost a few pokéballs for that. When the adrenaline came down, he wondered where his backpack had gone. He didn't realize it wasn't the only thing missing. The night was a little quieter than usual.

The sun was high in the perfectly blue and empty sky of the kingdom of Arendelle. It didn't make any difference for Princess Anna, locked in her room without having anything else to do than admire the star continuing its mechanical journey. The morning had been long and boring. Like all those before. She had spent time combing her hair, for lack of anything better, wiggling her red hair and white strand to test various hairstyles, but that did not amuse her for long. Her sister could have made this activity more interesting. But they had hardly spoken to each other for years. She stood locked in her room and their parents told Anna it was important. With a heavy heart, Anna could only accept this situation.

Anna didn't believe she had any right to complain. Her parents were always there for her and she literally lived the life of a princess. But this life was in an almost empty palace, to the point of becoming dismal. Sometimes she could hear the echo of her steps banging against the walls. Some days, she even happened to meet no one, neither a servant or a guard, except at meal times. Her parents adored her, but they were still the king and the queen. They had a lot of work and sometimes had to leave the castle for several days, just like right now. And she still wasn't allowed to go out, even though she would soon turn seventeen. Her parents did not want anything to happen to her outside and she did not dare to oppose it. They were her family after all and they loved her. But she still had absolutely nothing to do. Her parents ruled the kingdom, Elsa was studying to become the future sovereign and she ... She had nothing to contribute. No one ever asked her anything and there was nothing only her could do. Life was simple for Anna, far too simple. Her gaze was lost in the landscape, as in a dream.

The princess woke up startled. A flash of light had burst behind her. She spun around, panicking, and froze when she found strange objects on the floor. She dared not move, as if these intruders were going to pounce on her like hungry wolves. Their immobility ends up reassuring her. She observed what had invaded her room but, possessed by confusion, could not determine what it was. She approached one of the objects with an uncertain step. She knelt down to see it closer. It was a sphere. One half was red and the other white. A black line delimited the two hemispheres and a small white disc on it finished making the sphere imperfect. And there were about ten of them, perfectly similar.

Anna thought she should probably call someone, but her curiosity was too intense. She brought a trembling finger to one of the spheres. When she touched it, she quickly removed her finger. Nothing happened. She brought her hand again and grabbed it with her fingertips. She observed the sphere from all angles. Aside from the little disc, which was more like a tiny cylinder, she found nothing more in it. Her thumb slid over the white cylinder and a reaction made her release it quickly. The object fell to the ground, as if split in half. As nothing more happened, Anna picked up the object and discovered the white half dangling limply. The object was hollow and its interior was partially covered with reflective surfaces, like mirrors. However, she couldn't find an angle from which she could see her reflection correctly.

"What is that?" she wondered out loud. "A jewelry box? That would explain the mirrors but it seems so impractical ... "

The princess gently closed the object and put it back on the ground, among the others. Her gaze was then attracted by another thing, which she guessed was made of yellow fabric. But something else captivated her. Further in his room, a huge ball of brown and beige fur was placed on the floor. She did not remember having kept any plushie in her room. She was far too old for that, she had been told. She approached the mass of fur with a discreet step and realized that it was moving. It swelled and deflated like a balloon. Or rather, she understood, like a living being breathing. Anna became a statue when the thing moved. The animal revealed two long, pointed ears, one of which was partially cut, and a bushy tail. It straightened up with difficulty on four skinny little legs and shook its coat in all directions, including a thick mane like a big scarf.

Eevee's big eyes scanned the unknown room for a cue, but found only a human dumbfounded. Both remained frozen, like two statues of ice. The young girl didn't have the same style of clothes as Kanto or Johto habitants. He said, full of curiosity.

"Eevee…?"

The princess screamed. Eevee did the same and disappeared like the wind under the bed. Anna remained for a moment without reacting. She couldn't understand what she had seen. Was it a dog? A cat ? A fox ? A big rabbit? A little lion? She couldn't make up her mind. Never had she seen an animal like this. The princess bent down to take a look under her bed. The bushy creature was crouched beneath, the fur trembling and the ears lowered. She easily understood that this fur ball was as terrified as she was, maybe even more. Anna began to think about it. She really should warn someone. Only she didn't know who to call for this kind of case. And if this animal remained so frightened, there was no guarantee that it would stay peaceful. The more she looked at this strange creature, the cutter it was to her. She didn't want anything bad to happen to this animal.

"Hey ..." she whispered softly. "Do not worry. I'm not gonna hurt you. "

The animal backed away again. He did not trust her. Considering his ear injury, Anna suspected that he didn't have had an easy life, which saddened her somewhat. She wasn't sure how to prove to it that she didn't want any harm. She heard a gurgling noise and realized that the little thing under her bed was the cause. The animal almost seemed to collapse on the ground and wailed, whispering faintly the same word as before.

"You are hungry ..." understood the princess, visibly saddened.

Anna realized that not only she had to help this poor little creature, but also that it was an opportunity to prove her good intentions. The princess asked it as kindly as possible to not move before leaving, under the exhausted gaze of Eevee. She left her room, being careful to close the door behind her. The animal looked tired, but she didn't want to risk seeing him wandering alone around the castle.

The girl arrived in the kitchen where the housekeeper Gerda finished washing the dishes for the midday meal. After the usual greetings, Anna went to the cellar, pretending to be hungry. Facing all the food, she realized that she had no idea what this species, whatever it was, could eat. Was it carnivorous, herbivorous or omnivorous? If she chose a bad thing, she risked making it sick. The princess then took an apple, a carrot, a walnut and a little sausage. She thought about taking chocolate, but she remembered that it was not very good for dogs. So she preferred to avoid it and took just a one bit for herself. Leaving the cellar, she had the idea of cutting the food to help the little beast. From the moment she grabbed a knife, Gerda stopped her. With all the manners of a servant, she took the utensil from the hands of the princesses and cut everything for her. Anna thanked her politely, but found this action a bit exaggerated. She was no longer a child. When the food was ready and placed on a small dish, the princess returned quickly to her room.

When she was sure no one was in the hall to hear her, she locked herself in and knelt near her bed. The little beast was still hidden below, the eyelids half-closed.

"Hey little one, she called, placing the food on the floor, I brought you something. I don't know what you usually eat so I brought several things. Just for you."

The muzzle of the big plushie moved. He seemed to regain some energy. His eyes filled with curiosity. He didn't really want to approach this human, but his stomach really couldn't take it anymore. Eevee pulled his shy head out from under the furniture and smelt the dish. He recognized the smell of everything presented to him. Full of joy, he threw himself on the food with a smile on his lips. At a crazy speed, he devoured all the apples, carrots, nuts and even the meat.

"Well! You were really starving. " laughed the princess.

Eevee finished the dish without leaving a crumb, before collapsing on the ground with a delighted face. He was sated, which warmed Anna's heart. She observed the little beast more closely to try to recognize any detail that reminded her of a known animal. She didn't.

"What are you?" she wondered. "You don't seem to have a collar, so I guess you are a wild animal."

The cut-eared creature looked up at her, as if intrigued by the young woman.

"Eevee?"

"Is that just how you bark or… your name?"

"Eevee..."

Anna wasn't further ahead. She wasn't surprised.

"Okay, she declared, then I guess I'll just call you Eevee for now."

"Eevee!"

Anna laughed a bit.

"At least you don't seem to argue with that."

The princess gently approached her hand from the animal. He made a slight backward movement while lowering his ears which made her stop. She remained motionless, her hand outstretched towards him, unsure of whether she should wait, move forward a little more or give up. Finally, Eevee approached with fearful slowness. Anna did not move an inch. Eevee stood close to the girl's fingers. He licked them, which made the princess laugh. Bit by bit, the furball came closer, until he put his cheek on Anna's palm. She then began to stroke him very gently, which he seemed to appreciate. The girl felt like melting in contact with this fur a little harsh but pleasant to cuddle.

"You are just so adorable." she said, running her hand over his belly, which the animal seemed to like.

Footsteps echoed in the corridor. Anna gasped as Eevee quickly ran back under the bed. Someone knocked at the door. She recognized the voice of Gerda calling her. The girl tensed in fear. The odd objects were still lying on the ground. She ran to the door to open it.

"What is it Gerda?" she asked with a forced smile.

"I only came to collect your dish if you are finished ..."

"Oh yes yes! Wait a minute!"

Anna hurried to retrieve the plate at the foot of her bed and brought it to the servant.

"Thanks again Gerda, said the princess, it was perfect ..."

"Eevee?"

The girl tensed, as did the servant. Anna's mind was in full panic mode, while her body stood frozen.

"Did you hear that?" asked Gerda anxiously.

The princess was thinking fast. She needed a lie, any lie.

"Well, you know, this big old castle, so empty… You can hear so many thing like… the wood. Yeah! The wood that alter. Isn't it? "

"I guess so…"

"Thank you Gerda!" concluded the princess by closing the door.

Anna remained frozen as an obstacle supposed to block the door, until she heard the steps of the servant walking away. She was finally able to breathe again. Her gaze fell on the one who had scared her so much. Eevee stared at her blankly, then tilted his head to the side.

"You are lucky to be so cute..." sighed the princess.

The girl went to the bizarre spheres, determined to hide them before someone else came out of the blue. She gathered them before becoming interested in the object that she had not had time to study. It did not take long for her to understand that it was a backpack, which was very worn. However, she had never seen this kind of fabric. It was stiffer than what she was used to. She discovered a drawing on it, looking like one of the spheres that intrigued her so much. Then she opened the bag and discovered a new treasure inside.

Before Eevee's curious eyes, Anna took out a red rectangle as big as her hand, with a blue pearl encrusted. The object was not very thick and she could not say what it was made of. It was not made of wood. The light reflected on it a little, like with metal, but it was not cold. One more oddity to the list she thought.

"Do you know what this is?" she asked to her little companion.

"Eevee?"

"Of course…"

She felt silly to have asked. The girl looked at the object from all angles and recognized what appeared to be a hinge. This object therefore could be open. She saw a gap and put a fingernail inside. The object deployed without much resistance. Again, Anna didn't understand what she was looking at. There were all kinds of squares on one side and on the other, a cross with arrows and a new kind of mirror inside a gray square. Again, her reflection was imperfect, but before she could make the slightest remark about it, a noise sprang from the gadget. She almost dropped it in surprise, especially when the mirror began to produce light. Was this a magical object ? Anna tried to keep calm by observing the image that had formed there. She recognized letters, then a word, but it was a word she had never seen before.

"Po..ke...dex?" she tried to formulate. "What does that even mean?"

She tried to touch the mirror but the image did not react. She tapped on it several times, while Eevee sniffed the object, before giving up. Eevee touched it with his paw, then looked below. The next instant, the red rectangle tinkled and the image changed to show an animal looking like Eevee. A strange voice, almost distorted, sprang from the mysterious object.

"Eevee, the Evolution Pokémon. Eevee is rarely seen and can adapt to severe habitat by evolving, changing its capabilities and form. "

The young woman thought she could not be impressed after discovering this furball, but when these explanations ended, she held the object at arm's length, as if the fascination barred the way to a reflex of survival, and began to stammer, the wide eyes.

"W-W-W-WHAT ?! You can talk ?! "

The object remained silent. A silence that drags on until it becomes embarrassing.

"Hmm ... Hello?" tried Anna. "Is someone there?"

The rectangle did not make a sound. Anna looked Eevee in the eye, hoping for an answer, but only found the animal's confused look. The princess got the idea of making the object pass in front of Eevee again. The result was a word for word rehearsal of the explanations she had just heard. Anna was swimming in confusion. It could only be a magical object. She pressed buttons at random, starting with the cross. She discovered that interacting with it made scrolling a list of curious words to which numbers were attached. She could make it scroll up and down and tested other buttons at the same time. Again, the voice spoke as the mirror presented the image of a blue bird with its body inside what looked like a cloud.

"Altaria, the Humming Pokémon. Altaria glides up into the sky using its wings like sails to catch rising breezes. "

Anna tested other buttons and found that she could enter numbers too. She randomly tapped one and came across the image of an insect-like creature with a huge horn.

"Heracross, the Single Horn Pokémon. Though gentle and docile, Heracross possesses great strength and power. Their favorite food is the fresh sap of leafy trees. "

And then another one, to come across an almost human frog.

"Greninja, the Ninja Pokémon, and the final evolved form of Froakie. Greninja can compress water into sharp-edged throwing stars. With the grace of a ninja, it slips in and out of sight to attack from the shadows. "

And again another one, to find a some kind of cute yellow fairy.

"Ribombee, the Bee Fly Pokémon. A Bug and Fairy type. Ribombee rolls pollen into all kinds of puffs, for use in battle or to eat."

And yet another one, to discover a very curious bear.

"Ursaring, the Hibernator Pokémon. Ursaring searches for honey in a forest daily. To reach its food, it often snaps trees with its forelegs rather than climbing. "

And another one, to find some big lizard with jewels on its body and butterfly-like wings.

"Aurorus, the Tundra Pokemon. The diamond-shaped crystals on its body expel air as cold as -240 degrees Fahrenheit, surrounding its enemies and encasing them in ice."

And yet another one, revealing what seemed to her to be a real dragon.

"Charizard, the Flame Pokémon. Charizard's powerful flame can melt absolutely anything. "

The princess only came out of her reverie when Eevee caught her eye. Her head was spinning. She quickly closed the gadget and put it on the ground with the same repulsion that with a box of delicious chocolate that she was afraid to finishing too quickly. Anna turned to the little animal with the cut ear.

"A… Pokémon?" she managed to say.

The princess, as in a trance, took the animal carefully in her hands and placed it in front of her face frozen in amazement.

"Is that what you are?"

The bushy beast regained its smile and wagged its tail.

"Eevee!"

The girl couldn't take her eyes off from Eevee. Until today, her biggest dream was to talk to her sister again, to be able to go to town and maybe help her family a little bit some day. Now, she found herself with an incredible creature and an impossible device that promised her that many others like him existed. The foundations of her mind collapsed like an old temple blown away by a tornado. She was falling into the void, into the unknown, toward something she would never have imagined even in her wildest dreams. As she kept looking eevee in the eyes, a smile formed on her face. A heady euphoria grew up in her while she said.

"I want… to know… EVERYTHING about your kind !"
