Puck's New Mission

Chapter 1: Mr. P.

Noah Puckerman sat in Burt Hummel's living room, holding one-year-old Liza Marie. When he hears something about Beth that upsets him, he yells, "I am not that same person anymore, and I wasn't given any other choice but to give Beth up!" Then he turns to Mercedes and asks, "Did Mr. H. do a poor job of parenting Kurt before he started dating Mrs. H?" Mercedes looks at Burt and says, "He did okay, but, Puck, come on you are not Mr. H. You couldn't even make it work with Quinn. Now, you want to raise Liza Marie alone."

Then Burt and Carole stand beside Noah as Burt says, "Mercedes, Puck didn't break up with Quinn. She was the one that dumped him. Now, her, Blaine and Kurt are dead, and it was Blaine that chose Puck to be her godfather after Beth said something to Kurt about us being alike. Puck hadn't seen Beth since she was one and she didn't know he was her dad until the reading of Kurt's will. All she knew was that Quinn was her birth mother and that she was dating Finn at the time. It was Shelby's idea not to tell her about Puck and Rachel could have told her the truth at any time. Speaking of Rachel, I didn't hear her complain about Puck being Liza Marie's only godparent."

"Liza Marie was my only egg Mercedes," Rachel says as she stands up then continues. "Puck lost Quinn, and we all remember Mr. H. when we first started Glee you know Puck will be worse in a good way! Plus, Puck is the only one who makes Liza Marie feel at ease. I am her mother, and Blaine is her father, yet she is content when she is with Puck. I'm sure she won't remember Blaine or Kurt, and I'm sure Blaine noticed how she was acting towards him. Puck missed his chance with Beth, and I'm not going to allow him to miss the opportunity to raise Liza Marie! Shelby raised Beth and also missed out on most of my childhood. I'm not going to let Puck miss out on having another child, even if it's my own! I want her to have a normal childhood. Kurt did fine without a mother for six years, Didn't he? I did fine without Shelby!" Then she storms out, followed by Jesse.

Liza Marie rubs Noah's cheek and glares at the others after Rachel has left, before saying, "Dada!" Then she looks at Beth and says, "Dada!" again, while still caressing his face. Before she grabbed Noah's hand and placed it on Burt's face as she said, "Dada!" Once again.

Then Santana says, "I think what Liza Marie is trying to say here guys. Is that Puck is her new dad and Mr. H. has a new son. So, shut the hell up! Puck was Beth's dad, now he is her dad."

Liza Marie just nods and fist-bumps Santana.

Then Rachel and Jesse come back before she says to Beth, "Puck is just your baby daddy he didn't raise you. I'm just Liza Marie's baby Mama. I didn't raise her. Shelby didn't raise me, she raised you. Puck and Quinn weren't in your life like I was."

Before she can say another word Noah says, "Rachel, you don't have to do this. Liza Marie is your daughter."

Then Liza Marie screams, "Dada!" and Noah puts his forehead against hers as he says, "Okay, Little Princess! Calm down! God, Don't make me say it!"

Then Burt says with a chuckle, "Say what, Puck? Come on, Puck you know she'll be saying it to you in twelve years or eleven if Santana is her role model and not Rachel."

This makes Santana and Rachel glare at Burt before Santana says, "Really, Mr. H? Do you really think I'm going to be her role model? This is Rachel's daughter we are talking about and we all know Shelby was Rachel's idol before she found out she was her mom."

Then Rachel says, "Look, Puck, you can tell her the truth if she asks, but just let me know when you do. Okay? Now, I really have to go. By the way, Mercedes. I don't want to hear it! I know what I am doing! We all thought Puck wouldn't be a good dad to Beth and he didn't get to see her until she was an adult! I hate that I didn't know Shelby was my mom until I was a teenager! But there is no way I am going to raise Liza Marie in the spotlight and have her turn out worse than Puck's dad!"

Noah hugs Rachel and says, "I promise you won't regret this Rachel, all I ask is that you send her a birthday card or something that will let her know you still care."

Rachel smiles and says, "You got it, Puck and you go easy on our Little Princess there. Don't let her give you a heart attack. Ha-ha. Sorry I couldn't help it."

Then Carole hugs Rachel and says, "I'll keep him in line and you did a good thing here, Rachel. Ha, you better hope they don't give me a heart attack."

Later that night Noah was putting Liza Marie in her crib when Burt came up behind him and says, "I'm really sorry about Quinn, Puck. I can't believe someone would bomb a fertility clinic."

Noah stares at Liza Marie as he says, "I asked Quinn to marry me the day she dumped me and that was the last time we spoke to each other. I thought things were going good and Kurt was going to talk to her for me that day. Beth was my only good swimmer and I think Quinn couldn't handle that. She was the one that asked to be the Baby Mama this time. I heard that Rachel was on the phone with Blaine when it happened."

Then Noah looks at Burt before saying, "I know I can't replace Kurt, but I feel like you replaced my dad after Kurt and I became friends. Did you know that the day Kurt and Blaine met was when he was spying on Dalton Academy? Ha, we wanted to check out our competition for regionals and I thought he was the perfect spy since it had a lot of gay guys going there."

Burt chuckles and says, "Santana and Blaine were talking about it on their one-year anniversary. Ha, God, I'm so glad you aren't gay and that Kurt never had a crush on you. Can you imagine how Kurt would behave if you did what I did when Liza Marie was thirteen?

Then Noah says in a mocking Kurt voice, "Noah, put that rifle down! I'm sure Johnny won't hurt Liza Marie. Now, come on and give her a break." Before chuckling and saying in his normal voice, "Or something like that. Ha, Blaine and Quinn both would tease Kurt about it a lot. Ha, so would Santana and her teasing was worse." Soon the two men go to bed and Noah whispers, "Thanks Kurt."
