A/N Zack belongs to Celrock.
Ji Yeon woke up all alone in a sterile white room. She didn't remember much of how she got there. All she knew was that she was in the hospital, which meant that she could see her mother.
She removed the oxygen from her nose and ripped the iv out of her wrist and gingerly got out of bed.
She ignored the alarms that begin to beep and slowly tried to make her way out of the room. She fou d it extremely difficult to breathe.
She kept going despite the difficulty and snuck past the doctor who entered the room to see what was going on. For once she was greatful to be smaller then other kids her age.
She stumbled down the hall using the wall for support. She passed a few rooms with people attached to ventilators to help them breathe. A few of the rooms she passed were full of doctors surrounding people who were hooked up to beeping machines.
Ji Yeon soon came to the end of the hallway and peaked into the room where she saw her mother laying in a bed sleeping. She was about to go in when her body couldn't take anymore and she collapsed on the floor. She felt someone pick her up a few seconds later.
She wanted to fight as she was carried back down the hall, but felt to exhausted so she just Lea Ed against the person carrying her until she was put back into her bed.
"I wanted to see my mommy.'' Ji Yeon said quietly as she was hooked back up to oxygen and the iv was replaced.
"I know. She needs to rest and so do you.'' Miju told her as she covered her with blanket.
Ji Yeon settled and was soon sleeping again. Miju sighed as she watched Ji Yeon sleep. She was greatful that Mi Sun had been asleep when Ji Yeon collapsed in the doorway.
Miju left the room and went about her day. She just wanted all of this to end. They were working longer shifts with dwindleing supplies. She just hoped things wouldn't get any worse for her family.
Meanwhile things outside of the hospital weren't much better with toilet paper and grocery shortages, people out of work. Everyone was becoming desperate and just wanted things to go back to normal, especially the kids.
"Min Jun are you ok?" Phil asked once school had ended.
"Yeah you didn't answer any questions or say anything when we were doing school." Lil added.
"No guys. I'm not ok. My mom and sister got the sickness and have to stay in the hospital.'' Min Jun explained.
"I hope they'll be ok and get to come home soon.'' Kimi said.
"Yeah. Dil got better.'' Tommy added. He was trying to give Min Jun some hope.
"I miss you guys. Talking on a screen isn't the same. Min Jun muttered.
"Yeah I know what you mean.'' Phil agreed.
"Maybe we can see each other.'' Tommy said as an idea began to form in his head.
"How can we do that?'' Chuckie asked.'' Our parents will never let us leave the house.''
"We can sneak out at night.'' Tommy announced with a smile.
The others looked a little shocked at his praposal. Everyone sat in silence for a minute thinking.
"Count me in.'' Phil cried once he thought it over.
"Me too.'' Lil added.
"I don't know about this you guys. What if we get the sickness?'' Chuckie shuddered.'' I already got enough problems breathing on a regular day.''
"Yeah and are you guys sure you want to play with me and Kimi?'' Min Jun asked.'What if we give you the sickness?''
"Of course we want to play with you guys, and we can wear our masks.'' Tommy said holding up his blue Reptar mask.
"Sides you won't give us the sickness cuz Kimi has lived with Chuckie this whole time and he didn't get it.'' Lil reasoned.
"Are we all agreed to meet up at the park after our parents go to bed?'' Tommy asked.
Everyone nodded except for Chuckie.
"I'll try and get him to come.'' Kimi said.
"Ok. Everybody bring a flashlight. I have a peredt game to play that we don't even have to touch each other.'' Tommy told them.
"You're not thinking of going to the park are you?'' Chuckie asked staring at Kimi as she held her tablet after all of their friends had hung up.
"Yeah I am. I miss playing with our friends.'' Kimi told him.
"You know we can't.'' Chuckie sighed."it's to dangerous.''
"Maybe for you. You have allergies. I don't.'' Kimi stated going into her room and making another video call.
"Hey Zack.'' Kimi greeted when Zack answered the call.
"Hey Kimi. How's it going?'' Zack asked not missing the look on Kimi's face that told him something was wrong.
"Ok I guess. We're supposed to medg everyone at the park when our parents go to bed but Chuckie doesn't want to go. This whole sickness thing has got him even more scared then usual.'' Kimi explained.
"Chuckie has every right to be scared. This sickness is very bad for people with asthma.'' Zack told her.
"Well I'm still going to go see our friends whether Chuckie wants to or not.'' Kimi insisted.
"I know you really want to see them, but you would put your dad and Chuckie at a great risk.'' Zack tried to reason with her.
Kimi sighed.''I guess you're right. Will you go for me and tell explain to everyone?'' Kimi asked.
Zack nodded and they ended the call. He didn't get to talk to his friends much since he was in a more advanced class then them.
Despite the nagging feeling in his stomach Zack snuck out when his auntie went to bed.
It was nearly ten at night when Min Jun picked his way through the grass and bushes on his way to the park. He hoped he wasn't to late and that his friends were all at the park still. He had to wait until his father went to work and his siblings were to occupied to even bother to care what he was doing to leave.
Min Jun heard soft voices as he neared the park. He knew his friends were there by the small beams of light he could see in the distance.
"Is everybody here?'' Min Jun asked joining the small group of kids that were gathered near the sandbox.
"Everybody but Chuckie and Kimi.'' Tommy answered.
"Let's just get to playing. We all know they won't show.'' Phil griped.
Tommy sighed and was about to say something when they heard someone coming there way. They all froze, afraid that one of their parents had followed them. They all sighed in relief when they heard a familiar voice.
"Hey guys can I play too?'' Zack asked holding up his flashlight.
"Sure, we're just waiting on Chuckie and Kimi.'' Tommy said.
"They're not coming.'' Zack sighed in disappointment. He really wanted to see Kimi.
"Told ya they wouldn't come.'' Phil smirked.
"Kimi was pretty disappointed when I talked to her earlier. She told me to have fun for her.'' Zack explained.
"So what's this game you wanted to play Tommy?'' Lil asked.
"Oh.'' Tommy said nearly forgetting his idea for a game.''Flashlight tag. Instead of tagging each other we can point our flashlights. That way we're still following the rules of staying apart.''
The kids began their game with Zack being it. While they e joyed their game, Chuckie was having a horrible time at home.
Earlier in the evening Chuckie and Kimi were getting ready for bed.
"Are we going or not?'' kimi asked after she had finished brushing her teeth.
"No. Of course we're not going.'' Chuckie cried.
Kimi hurried to shush him in case one of their parents were nearby.
"You can stay here if you want, but I'm going. I miss playing with our friends.'' kimi said as she hurried off to her room.
"If you go I'll tell mom and dad.'' Chuckie dared.
Kimi stopped in tracks and glared at her brother. She couldn't believe how he was acting. Didn't he want to see Tommy again?
"Go ahead. I want to see our friends.'' Kimi insisted going into her room and shutting the door.
Soon their parents came to say goodnight, but neither Chuckie nor Kimi went to sleep. There was no way that Chuckie was going to allow himself to fall asleep of his little sister was going to put her health at risk. Sure he missed Tommy and his other friends, but it wasn't safe to play with them yet.
Chuckie shifted in his bed when he heard kimi's door open sometime later. He quickly got out of bed and opened his door. He saw Kimi smeaking down the hall. He turned on the hall light making Kimi jump.
Kimi turned around and gasped surprised and a little relieved to see her brother standing there.
"What are you doing?'' Kimi asked.
"I should ask you the same thing.'' Chuckie shot back.
"I changed my mind ok.'' Kimi said.
"You can't go out there.'' Chuckie yelled running up to Kimi and blocking her from leaving the hallway.
Unfortunately his yelling woke up his parents and both came out to see what was going on.
"What are you two doing up so late?'' Chas asked putting his glasses on.
"We uh.'' Kimi stuttered, not wanting to tell her parents the truth, but not knowing what to say either.
"Kimi was going to go see our friends at the park but I talked her out of it before she could leave.'' Chuckie quickly explained. He didn't want to get his sister in trouble but he didn't want to lie either. He was terrible at it anyway.
Kimi sighed and bowed her head as her parents stared at her.
"I know you miss your friends, but for everyone's safety we have to stay apart until it's safe to be around people again.'' Kira explained putting her around Kimi's shoulders and leading her back to her bed.
"I know. Kimi sighed as she walked back to her room with her mother.
"I'm sorry Kimi.'' Chuckie said quietly.
"Go back to bed. I'm going to call everyones parents and let them know where there kids are.'' Chas said.
Back at the park the kids were enjoying playing in the dark and were beginning their fifth game of flashlight hide and seek when pairs of headlights began shining toward the park.
"uh oh.'' Phil said.
"We're busted.'' Lil added as they saw Betty storming toward them.
One by one everyones parents and Zack's aunt lead them to their cars scolding them along the way about how reckless they had all been.
The next day was Saturday so there was no school.
"I wonder who ratted us out.'' Phil said as they all talked on video chat.
Chuckie gulped and began shaking. He knew his friends would be mad at him if they knew it was him.
"Chuckie is the one who ratted us out.'' Kimi stated angrily.
Seeing his friends unhappy faces only made Chuckie feel worse.
