"How come Ji Yeon is still sick?'' Dil asked Tommy as they ate breakfast together one morning.
"I don't know Dilly.'' Tommy answered as he finished his Reptar cereal.
"I didn't stay sick this long and get that sick. How come Ji Yeon has to stay in the hospital and I didn't even have to go there?'' Dil asked.
He really missed his friend. He wished he could make her feel better.
"I don't know. Maybe cuz She's younger then us.'' Tommy suggested.
"Maybe.'' Dil said hopping down from the chair and running to his room to get his tablet. He tried calling her on her tablet since that's how he knew Min Jun communicated with her and his mother.
Finally somebody picked up on the fourth ring. Dil recognized the person as Ji Yeon's aunt.
"Is Ji Yeon awake yet?'' Dil asked hopefully.
Miju shook her head and pointed the tablet over to the bed where Ji Yeon lay still hooked up to a machine.
Dil's face fell. He hated seeing Ji Yeon like this. He wished he could do something to help her.
"You can talk to her if you want.'' Miju told him as she set the tablet on the table near the bed.
Miju left the room to give Dil some privacy promising to be back in ten minutes.
"I hope you get better soon.'' Dil began as he stared at his friend.''I miss playing with you.''
Dil wasn't sure what to say. It was hard to have a conversation when the other person didn't talk back. Dil watched Ji Yeon sleep while he made her a get well card complete with baby shark and sparkly glitter, two of her favorite things.
"Times up.'' Miju said as she came back I to the room.I'll let everyone know the minute she wakes up. I promise.''
Dil nodded and hung up the tablet. He decided to go outside and play soth Spiffi to take his mind off of things. He was glad to finally know that dogs couldn't give you the disease after all.
Dil walked inside after playing with Spiffi for an hour and asked his mom if she could help him mail his card to Ji Yeon's house.
Didi agreed and wrote on the envelope and walked with Dil to the mailbox. Dil put the card inside the mailbox and had Didi help him put the flag up telling the mail man they had mail he needed to take.
Meanwhile at the hospital Ji Yeon was removed from the vent since her oxygen levels seemed to be improving. She woke up later that day feeling weak.
Miju hurridly called Jin to tell him the good news. She walked in and handed Ji Yeon the phone.
"Apps?'' Ji Yeon asled weakly.
"I'm glad your awake. How do you feel?'' Jin asled. He was so relieved that Ji Yeon was awake. He only hoped that his wife would wake up soon too.
"I'm tired.'' Ji Yeon answered.''When can I go home?''
"Just get some rest and you can come home soon. I love you.'' Jin told her.
"I love you too.'' Ji Yeon replied handing the phone back to her auntie.
"Why isn't Mi Sun awake yet?'' Jin asked.
"I don't know. Every patient is different.'' Miju said sitting in the chair beside Ji Yeon's bed.
"Just keep me updated.'' Jin sighed.''I have to get back to work.''
"Stay safe.'' Miju told him as she hung up the phone.
"Auntie can I watch cartoons?'' Ji Yeon asked after Miju got off the phone.
"Yeah.'' Miju answered handing her tablet.''You should call your friend Dil first. I'll bring you some soup. Try and eat it ok and stay in bed.''
Ji Yeon nodded and turned her tablet on. She called Dil and waited.
"You're awake.'' Dil cried happily when he saw Ji Yeon's face on the screen.
Ji Yeon nodded and leaned back against the pillows.
"When can you go home?'' Dil asked.
"I don't know?'' Ji Yeon answered as her auntie entered the room and set a bowl of chicken broth and strawberry flovored jell o on the table and moved in front of Ji Yeon.
"Eat as much as you can.'' Miju told her and left the room.
Ji Yeon picked up the spoon, but quickly dropped it in the bowl.
"I don't like this sickness. I hurt all over and it hurts to breath.'' Ji Yeon complained as she pressed the call button for the nurses.
"I hope you get better soon. I made you a get well card just like you did for me.'' Dil told her.
"Thanks.'' Ji Yeon said as Miju entered the room once more.
"What's wrong?'' Miju asked
"I need help. My body hurts to much to eat.'' Ji Yeon explained.
"She'll talk to you later.'' Miju told Dil hanging the tablet up and sitting in the chair. She began to feed Ji Yeon the broth until she had had enough. She then left her to watch her cartoons.
A few days later Ji Yeon was stable enough to go home. She was still tired and weak, but excited to get out of the hospital.
"Why can't mommy come with us?'' Ji Yeon asked as Miju packed her things and got Ji Yeon ready to go.
"She's still sleeping.'' Miju told her as she picked her up to carry her out for the clap out ceremony.
"When will she get better?'' Ji Yeon asked quietly as they madde their way out of the room.
"I don't know.'' Miju answered honestly. She was having a hard time dealing with her little sister being so sick. At the same time she was greatful that her niece was alive and getting better everyday.
They walked down the hall full of nurses and doctors clapping as they made their way out. They did this for all of the patients who got better after having the sickness.
They made it outside where Mun Hee was waiting for them with a baby shark balloon. She took Ji Yeon from her mother and hugged her tight before putting her in the car and waving to her mother as she went back inside.
"Are you coming home with me?'' Ji Yeon asked hopefully as they drove down the street.
"Yeah. I'm babysitting you guys just like old times.'' Mun Hee said with a smile.
"Good. I missed you.'' Ji Yeon said.
"I missed you too.'' Mun Hee told her.
They made it home where Ji Yeon was greeted with hugs from her brother and cousins and plenty of kisses from Cleo.
Ji Yeon was happy to be home, but wished her mother was there with her. She called Dil after seeing his get well card and told him the good news.
"I'm home now.'' Ji Yeon smiled despite her slight sadness.''Thank you for the card. I really like it.''
"You're welcome. I'm glad you're home and that you like my card. I wish I could come see you.'' Dil said.
"Maybe soon we can see each other soon.'' Ji Yeon assured him.
