Miju returned to the hospital for her shift after spending the night at a hotel. All of the doctors who worked with the patients who had the sickness had decided it was best to stay at hotels as to not spread the disease to their families.
Mju went to her sister's room first as she did most mornings.''Any change?''
The nurse in the room shook her head sadly before leaving the room.
Miju sat down in the chair next to the bed and sighed.''You have to fight this.''
Miju sat in silence just holding her sister's hand. She was startled when her phone rang.
"Is mommy awake yet?'' Ji Yeon asked as soon as Miju answered the phone.
"No, not yet.'' Miju told her.
"When will she wake up?'' Ji Yeon asked.
Miju could hear the disappointment and sadness in Ji Yeon's voice. She wished she had better news to give her.
"I don't know, but I promise I will let you know as soon as she's awake.'' Miju promised.
It had been a week since Ji Yeon came home. She was glad that summer vacation had started for Min Jun so she wouldn't be so bored.
"We made you something special.'' Jin said as Ji Yeon came to the table for lunch.
"It's baby shark macaroni and hotdogs.'' Min Jun blurted out as he took his seat next to his sister.
"Ooh.'' Ji Yeon smiled as she looked down at the shark shaped noodles in her bowl.
Everyone dug into their lunch, but was confused when Ji Yeon put her spoon back in her bowl.
"What's wrong?'' Min Jun asked taking another bite of his food.
"I can't taste it.'' Ji Yeon answered sadly pushing her bowl away and getting up from the table and going into the living room.
"I have another surprise for you.'' Jin said as he followed Ji Yeon into the living room.
She sat on the couch hoping it was something that she could enjoy.
"While you were in the hospital a new baby shark show came on. I recorded all of the episodes in case you wanted to watch it.'' Jin explained as he turned the show on.
Ji Yeon sat and watched the show and really enjoyed it. She spent the rest of that week catching up on all of her shows that she missed.
She eventually grew tired of watching TV and decided to call Dil.
"I wish we could play together.'' Ji Yeon said while Dil played with so,e cars on the floor.
"Maybe we can if we wear our masks. I'll go ask my mommy.'' Dil said excitedly running off to find Didi.
At the same time Ji Yeon went off to find her father.
"Min Jun where is daddy at?'' Ji Yeon asked walking down to the playroom.
"He's at work.'' Min Jun told her.
Ji Yeon trudged back upstairs and slumped on the couch waiting for Dil to come back.
"My mommy said it's ok since you can only get the sickness one time.'' Dil told her excitedly.
"My daddy isn't here so I guess I have to ask my cousin.'' Ji Yeon gulped. "I will be right back.''
Ji Yeon went upstairs and opened Min Hee's door.
"Where are you going?'' Ji Yeon asked as she spotted her older cousin climbing out the window.
"Don't worry about it. Go watch TV.'' Min Hee told her.
Ji Yeon raced back downstairs and back into the playroom which took a lot out of her.
"Min Jun will you take me to go play with Dil?'' Ji Yeon panted as she stood by the couch where Min Jun and Min Ho sat playing a video game.
"I can't right now and we can't leave anyways. I already got in trouble for that once and I'm not going to do it again.'' Min Jun told her and groaned as he lost the game.
Ji Yeon went back upstairs, but was finding it hard to breathe. She sat on the couch hoping to catch her breath but it didn't work.
Dil noticed that Ji Yeon wasn't talking and didn't look to good. He hollard for Didi and they left for Ji Yeon's house after Dil and told Didi that Jin wasn't home.
"I need some help. She's not breathing.'' Didi cried urgently as she brought Ji Yeon into the hospital.
"How did this happen?'' Miju asked taking Ji Yeon from Didi.
"I don't know. She was talking with my son and started having trouble breathing and by the time we got to her she was barely conscious.'' Didi explained.
Miju got Ji Yeon hooked up to oxygen and watched in relief as Ji Yeon began to open her eyes.
"Why do I have to be back here?'' Ji Yeon wheezed.
"Because you passed out and couldn't breathe.'' Miju told her.
"I want to go back home.'' Ji Yeon protested trying to remove the oxygen mask.
"Keep that on and if you start getting better I'll call Mun Hee to come get you. Just rest and I'll be back in a little while to check on you.'' Miju assured her.
Back home Dil felt awful. He didn't understand why Ji Yeon was so sick when he got better soon after getting the sickness.
"Hey T why is Ji Yeon really sick when I wasn't?'' Dil asked as he approached Tommy who was building a Lego reptar model.
"I don't know Dil.'' Tommy answered.''But she does get sick a lot easier then us. Maybe its cuz she's so little and can't fight the germs like we can.''
Dil thought about this for a minute. That had to be it. He only wished he knew how to make Ji Yeon grow.
Dil sat on the couch watching TV. That's all he could do until he heard any news. Min Jun had promised to call him when he heard anything as the boys had come upstairs to watch over Ji Yeon after Dil had called Min Jun on his tablet.
Meanwhile back at the hospital Ji Yeon was beginning to feel better. She quickly removed the oxygen mask and tiptoed out of the room, not really sure where she was going. She just wanted to find her mother to see if she was awake.
"You make a very difficult patient.'' Miju said from behind making Ji Yeon jump.
"I want to see mommy. Maybe I cam wake her up.'' Ji Yeon explained as Miju picked her up.
Miju sighed and put a mask on Ji Yeon's face, it was way to big, but would have to do.
"Fine, but only for a few minutes.'' Miju relented walking down the hall and turning right and heading into a room.
They removed the vent the night before and were confused as to why Mi Sun remained asleep. She could only stay awake for two minute intervals.
"Mommy.'' Ji Yeon whispered as Miju put her beside Mi Sun.
Mi Sun opened her eyes and brought her hand up to Ji Yeon's face.
"My baby.'' Mi Sun said quietly.''You're all better.''
"For the most part.'' Miju commented.''If she takes it easy this time.''
Ji Yeon snuggled up near her mother having sensed she would have to leave the room soon.
Miju took this opportunity to snap a picture of Mi Sun and Ji Yeon both awake together and sent it to Jin.
Ji Yeon spent the night in the hospital just to make sure her oxygen levels stayed where they needed to be and the next morning Mun Hee arrived to pick her up.
Ji Yeon didn't want to leave and threw a fit. She only calmed down when Mi Sun talked to her through the tablet telling her that she would be home soon.
Min Hee wasn't to pleased when Mun Hee pulled up and glared her a she walked through the door carrying Ji Yeon.
"Maybe if you were mote responsible I wouldn't have to babysit you too.'' Mun Hee scoffed.
Min Hee glared at Min Jun, who had told on her for sneaking out.
"Can I call Dil?'' Ji Yeon asked when Min Hee set her on the couch.
Min Jun handed her her tablet and she told Dil the good news as soon as he answered.
"My mommy is awake.'' Ji Yeon cried.
"That's good. I'm glad you're home now.'' Dil said.
