5D's – Rise of the Earthbounds
This will be a test chapter for a Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's story I'm thinking about making but I'm not sure, I might consider continuing if the readers like it.
Chapter 1- Yusei Fudo
A red motorcycle with white lines and a quarter of a circle at the back of it was driving through an abandoned subway, the rider, a young man called Yusei Fudo in a blue jacket was trying out the new program to see if it would make it go faster and to see if the engine could handle.
He had started from his and his friends' hideout, however at the next moment, the engine exploded and smoke came out of it. Yusei gritted his teeth slightly and stopped. He took off his red helmet and his spiky black hair with yellow lines in it came out of it.
Yusei looked up at the ceiling and looked up at the sky through the holes in it, "Just you wait Jack, I'll get to New Domino City, and then you'll pay for what you did." He then grabbed his motorcycle which was called a Duel Runner and began leading it back to the hideout.
A WHILE LATER,
Yusei's friends was sitting and watching the TV which was sending live from the Dueling Stadium in New Domino City, their former friend Jack Atlas who had betrayed them had managed to escape the Satellite and arrived at New Domino City where his past of being from the Satellite had been hidden well and everyone thought he was born in New Domino City and had become the Turbo Duel Champion with the first Duel Runner Yusei had built that Jack stole from him.
Moments later they heard a sound and saw Yusei rolling up his Duel Runner on the ramp. He then led it towards a computer and plugged it in to his Duel Runner and began analyzing the problem.
One of Yusei's friends, Tank who had brown hair and had a huge body build scratched the back of his head while another friend with a blue bandana, Blitz, turned off the monitor,
"Sorry Yus, we have been bothered by Jack quite a bit, which is why we watched his duel today." Tank knew that Yusei had really been hurt by Jack's betrayal which had led to him not only losing his first Duel Runner; Jack had also stolen his favorite monster.
Yusei looked at them and asked them, "Did he duel another weak opponent?"
The last friend in the room, a dark blue haired young man with glasses whose name was Nervin adjusted his glasses, "Yeah, Jack pretty much toyed with him, it was the former champion Hunter Pace."
Yusei narrowed his eyes, "Did he seem irritated or frustrated?" Of course Yusei didn't mean the usual frustrated about losing to Jack, but a few times as he watched Jack's duels he had noticed that a few duelists had a frustrated expressions that told him that they might have been able to counter and beat him, however for some reason didn't.
Blitz shook his head, "No, not this time, this time it was just a normal crushing defeat, Jack has improved his skills a bit, but from what I can see, not by much, of course I'm not a great duelist like you Yusei so I can't say for sure."
Yusei plugged a few cables in to his Duel Runner and checked its systems on a laptop before he starts working on the engine while checking the laptop once in a while. Tank gave Yusei a sheepish smile, "So uh, how did the test of the new engine go Yus?"
Blitz looked at Tank, "It should be obvious based on how it looks like right? Don't bother him right now Tank."
Tank then looked at the turned off monitor, "It's too bad that Jack stole the old one though." Blitz quickly grabbed his head, "Hey cut it out Tank, you know that Yusei is still upset about that even though he doesn't talk about it."
Tank pushed away Blitz and narrowed his eyes, "I know that, and you know that I'm also angry at Jack, and so is the two of you too! He betrayed all of us, especially Yusei who was his best friend and also like a younger brother to him! It should be Yusei who is the Turbo Duel Champion, not him!" Blitz and Nervin all looked at Yusei troubled.
Yusei continued working on his Duel Runner without saying anything. Many people of the Satellite became orphans after the accident that separated it from New Domino City. Yusei and Jack who had both been orphans had been raised by a woman called Martha like brothers and both of them had seen as their mother.
However Yusei's thoughts got interrupted as he heard a voice call out to him, "Hey Yusei!" He looked to right and saw a young boy with curly red-brown hair with a hat coming down. Blitz lifted his hand in a greeting, "Hey Rally."
Rally stopped for a second and smiled at them, "Oh, so you guys are all here today? Anyway Yusei, I have something for you?" He ran towards Yusei while the others looked after him and Nervin asked, "What are you so excited about.
Rally stopped in front of Yusei and reached inside of his pocket and held out a chip towards him, "Look at this, you can use this for your Duel Runner right?"
The others came up and looked and Blitz quickly narrowed his eyes and grabbed Rally's hand and looked closer at the chip, "Hey, this is brand new isn't it? Where the heck did you get your hands on it?"
Rally got a really nervous expression on his face before he pulled his arm loose and tried to defend himself, "Y-you got it wrong, I just happened to find it in some junk that's all."
Nervin, Tank and Blitz looked at each other troubled before Blitz looked at Rally with a serious expression, "You haven't been stealing again right? Sector Security is hard enough as it is."
Tank nodded his head troubled, "If that turns out to be stolen, we all could be caught and marked if they discovered that you're the thief."
Nervin nodded his head as he leaned down and touched a yellow upside down pyramid shaped mark underneath Rally's left eye, "Yeah, I would hate if they put these things on us as it allows them to track us."
Yusei stood up, "Alright, leave Rally alone." He then walked over to him and held out his hand. Rally looked at him stunned for a few seconds before placing the chip in his hand and Yusei looked at it for a few seconds before turning back to his Duel Runner, "I'll be using this chip." He then took out the chip that he had in his Duel Runner and placed the new one in to it.
The group looked at Yusei troubled before Blitz asks what everyone is thinking, "Are you sure this is a good idea Yusei?"
Rally looked really happy, "I bet it will really move super fast now, the engine had problems before you started developing that new program, but with this new chip it should be able to handle even that."
Yusei didn't say anything and started thinking about the meeting he had had half a year ago which caused him to try and create the program to improve his Duel Runner's speed.
FLASHBACK,
Yusei had been looking through junk to find parts to fix the engine which had overheated again due to the parts not being good enough when he heard the sound of a Duel Runner. Yusei worried it was Sector Security had been about to leave until he noticed an unfamiliar blue and long Duel Runner with a young man with blue spiky hair and sunglasses riding it. The blue Duel Runner stopped in front of him and the man looked at him.
"I have been looking for you Yusei Fudo." Yusei narrowed his eyes, this guy didn't look like he was from the Satellite, "Who are you, and how do you know my name?"
The man didn't answer him and instead took out two Duel Monsters cards and threw it at Yusei who caught them confused, "Formula Synchron and Shooting Riser Dragon? Hold on are these Synchro Tuner monsters?" Yusei had heard of Synchro monsters that were also tuner monsters but had never seen any before.
The man looked turned his Duel Runner around and looked at Yusei over his shoulder, "These cards will one day, hopefully soon, help you discover your true potential, however you need to get your ace monster, Stardust Dragon back from your old friend Jack Atlas first in order to fight at your best."
Yusei looked at the mysterious man shocked, "How do you know about Stardust and Jack? Who are you?" The mysterious man didn't answer and just continued, "Also in order to reach your new potential you need to reach a new level of speed and be able to clear your mind of everything in order to hear the voices within the wind." The man then drove off without an explanation leaving Yusei staring after him confused.
END OF FLASHBACK,
The things the man had told him had been on Yusei's mind ever since, he had already planned on getting Stardust Dragon back from Jack who stole it together with his Duel Runner, but also because of what the mysterious man had said he had tried to create a program which would allow his Duel Runner to technically reach a level of speed that most runners wouldn't reach, however the program was still in development so it hadn't been able to so far.
Nervin looked at Yusei, "Listen Yusei I think you should just let this whole thing with Jack go." Rally looked at him angrily, "Listen Yusei is going to settle things with Jack and make him pay for what he did three years ago, and he is also gonna take back Stardust."
Nervin looked a little troubled over Rally's outburst before looking at Yusei again, "Yusei, are you really going to leave the Satellite?"
Yusei continued to work on the laptop as he answered Nervin, "I'm not gonna 'leave', the Satellite is my home, I'm just gonna settle things with Jack so I can move on."
Blitz looked at him with a concerned expression, "Listen, I understand that you were the most hurt by his betrayal because of the long history between you two but you should just let it go, you know that he never truly was one of us."
Yusei didn't answer and just got a look of sadness in his eyes for a moment before the laptop informed him that the installation of the new chip was complete. He stood up and grabbed the gas and revved it up, and everyone got shocked and impressed at hearing the engine working perfectly.
Rally looked up at Yusei excited, "So how is it? It's much better now right?" Yusei nodded his head. Rally then picked up his helmet and held it out towards Yusei, "You should take it out for a test drive to see how well that new program of yours works."
However at that moment searchlights from helicopters came down in to the subway tunnel through a crack in the road above them and the group gasped nervously while Yusei narrowed his eyes.
A voice then came out of a speaker, "Verification number AWX-86007 Rally Dawson, you're suspected of larceny! Surrender yourself immediately! Come out, as long as that marker is on you, you won't be able to escape!"
The group looked at Rally shocked as he looked down troubled. Blitz got angry and began to lecture Rally, "Why you, how many times have we told you that stealing will only get us all in to trouble?"
Rally lifted Yusei's helmet to hide behind it, "I'm sorry, I did really take it from the production plant, but only to help Yusei so he could get to New Domino City and beat Jack!"
Blitz got a frustrated expression on his face, "I understand how you feels, but still…" Yusei got between them and held out his arm to stop Blitz, "That's enough, what's done is done." Yusei then walked towards his laptop again, "You're also partially responsible for just accepting the chip Yus."
Tank looked at Rally troubled, "And we can't really just run out of here with Rally as that marker on his face sends a signal to Sector Security which they can track." Rally with a frustrated expression touched the criminal marker that had been burned in to his face.
Yusei pressed a few buttons on the laptop before getting on to his Duel Runner, "I have disrupted the marker's signal." The others looked at him shocked and Blitz asked, "You mean you have learned how to jam the signal?"
Yusei nodded his head and then took his helmet from Rally and placed it on his head before he pointed at one end of the tunnel, "You guys should get out of here…" He then put his visor down over his eyes, "I'll draw Sector Security's attention." Yusei then started the engine and started driving up the stairs to the subway while the other four ran down the tunnel that Yusei had pointed at.
Yusei then flew out of the tunnel and began driving down the road. One of the Sector Security on a Duel Runner got shocked seeing this, "A Duel Runner?" He then touched the mike attached to his helmet, "The suspect is on the run, begin pursuit immediately!" He then revved up his engine and began driving after Yusei with the others following him.
Yusei made sure to drive slower than he actually could to make sure that Sector Security would follow him, however he was still impressed with his Duel Runner's performance, Even though it's not top speed it's so fast. The front and back tire output, the rotational speed balance control, everything is perfect! Yusei thought to himself.
The officer on the Duel Runner then spoke through a speaker in his helmet, "Hey you on the Duel Runner, you have nowhere to run, so just pull over!" However Yusei accelerated a little to get a little more distance and he drove to the industrial district before making a turn and then stopping.
The officer on the Duel Runner stopped not far from him and got off of it and the officers in the car behind him also got out of the car. The officer on the Duel Runner as well as one from the car walked over to Yusei and the officer on the Duel Runner pulled his visor up, "I'm officer Trudge, now tell me where did you steal that Duel Runner from?"
Trudge then noticed that Yusei didn't have a marker on his face and started laughing, "No marker huh? I see, so after you jammed the signal you decided to be the decoy to let the thief escape huh? Well you Satellite scum has to stick out for each other huh? Well guess what, since you aided Rally in his escape, you gave us a good reason to take you in to custody, so I guess you will soon be marked as well."
Trudge then looked at Yusei's Duel Runner again with a smirk, "Oh right, we still need to figure out where you stole that Duel Runner since you Satellite scum are not supposed to have them."
Yusei narrowed his eyes and looked at Trudge, "Trudge right? Duel me."
Trudge looked at Yusei shocked for a second before he burst out laughing, "Me, dueling a Satellite scum? Don't make me laugh, you guys aren't even allowed to have cards so there is no way you can duel me."
Yusei moved his hand towards his left leg and opened a deck box on it and took out a deck and held it up, "Rules were meant to be broken, especially the stupid one." Yusei then placed his deck in to the deck holder on his arm and turned it.
Yusei then looked at Trudge and told him his demands, "If I win, then you'll forget everything that happened here today and turn a blind eye to Rally stealing the chip."
The other officer glared at Yusei when he heard that, "You're crazy if you think we're just going to…"
However Trudge held out his arm in front of him and looked at Yusei with a smirk, "Why not? I'm game, sometimes it is necessary to put arrogant punks like you in their place."
The other officer looked at him troubled, "But sir, this is not a wise idea."
Trudge cracked his knuckles with a smirk, "I will take full responsibility for this, you guys just get back." The other officer looked at Trudge and tried to argue, "But sir!"
Trudge glared at him irritated, "What? You don't really believe that I could lose to some Satellite scum right?"
The other officer sighed and walked over to his partner and informed him about Trudge's orders to leave and the two of them got in to the car and drove off.
Trudge looked at the car which drove off before he turned back to Yusei, "You're quite the funny kid, what kind of game are you playing by challenging me?"
Yusei looked at him and answered him seriously, "I have never trusted Sector Security as they have never done anything for us, but duelists are a different story. So since you accepted this duel, I will trust that you'll keep your word if you lose."
Trudge sighed tired and turned around and walked towards his Duel Runner, "Man, this punk is starting to give me a headache with this nonsense…" He then got up on his Duel Runner and both put down their visors and both drove up next to each other.
"Here we go! Activating the Speed World Field Spell!" Trudge pressed a button on his Duel Runner after saying that and a mechanical voice came from the Duel Runner, "Duel mode engaged! Auto-pilot activated, standby!" Both of their Duel Disks then activated before both of them shouted, "Duel!" Both of them then began driving as both of them then also drew their first five cards and placed them in their card holders.
Trudge placed his fingers on his deck, "The first move is mine, I draw!" He drew his next card and looked at it, "Now I summon Assault Dog in attack mode!" A dog with green armor with guns on it appeared on the field with a bark, Atk: 1200.
Trudge then grabbed one of the cards in his hand and placed it in to his Duel Disk, "And then I end my turn by placing one card face down!" A card appeared on the field before it vanished.
Yusei then placed his fingers on his deck, "It's my turn now!" He drew his next card, SPC x 2:0-1. Yusei looked at the monitor, a turbo duel was different from a normal duel, instead of normal spell cards you used something called Speed Spells, however in order to use Speed Spells you need speed counters and both duelists gets one speed counter during each players standby phase starting the second turn. However for every 1000 points of damage you take at once, you lose a speed counter.
Yusei looked at the card he had drawn, "Since I don't control any monsters on my field, I can special summon Junk Forward in attack mode!" A warrior in yellow armor appeared on the field, Atk: 900.
Trudge got a mocking smirk on his face, "I see that you just summoned a monster that fits you perfectly, trash like you using a trash monster."
Yusei didn't answer and just grabbed another card in his hand, "Next I summon the tuner monster Drill Synchron in attack mode!" A small brown monster with drills for arms and a drill as a horn and wheels for legs appeared on the field, Atk: 800.
Trudge gritted his teeth when he saw Drill Synchron, "A tuner monster?" You're a Synchro user?"
Yusei looked at him with a smirk, "That's definitely my main dueling style. However I have a few other strategies too."
Yusei then held out his hand towards Drill Synchron, "And next, I tune my level 3 Drill Synchron with my level 3 Junk Forward!" Drill Synchron then became three green rings of energy and Junk Forward flew in to them, "Clustering forces become the lance which pierces the earth! Become the path its light shines upon!" Junk Forward then became three stars which then turned in to a beam of energy, "I Synchro Summon, now come forth, level 6 Drill Warrior!" A brown warrior with a light brown scarf and drills on his shoulders and on his right arm appeared on the field, Atk: 2400.
Trudge gritted his teeth in anger, "You Synchro Summoned a monster with 2400 attack points your first turn?"
Yusei didn't answer him and just pointed at Assault Dog, "Now Drill Warrior, attack his Assault Dog!" The drill on Drill Warrior's arm began spinning and he then flew over to Assault Dog and rammed in to Assault Dog and destroyed him, Trudge LP: 4000-2800, SPC: 1-0.
Trudge gritted his teeth in frustration for a second before a smirk appeared on his face, "Sorry to disappoint you but by destroying Assault Dog in battle you activated his ability which allows me to special summon as many Assault Dogs as I want or can from my deck". A second Assault Dog appeared on the field, Atk: 1200.
Yusei then grabbed the remaining four cards in his hand and placed them in to his Duel Disk, "Now I place four cards face down and end my turn." Four cards then appeared around Yusei before they vanished.
Trudge narrowed his eyes as he didn't like the idea of four face down cards. He then placed his fingers on his deck, "It's my turn now, I draw!" He drew his next card and looked at it, Trudge SPC: 0-1. Yusei SPC: 1-2.
Trudge then got a smirk on his face, "Now it's time for me to show you what true power is." Yusei narrowed his eyes when he heard that.
Trudge then grabbed three cards in his hand in his hand and then placed them in to his graveyard, "Now I send my level 4 Assault Dog, my level 3 Guard Dog and the level 5 Handcuff Dragon in order to special summon Montage Dragon in attack mode." A large blue dragon with three heads with large wings appeared on the field, Atk: ?
Trudge looked at Yusei with a smirk on his face, "Montage Dragon's attack points is equal to 300 times the combined levels of the monsters I sent to the graveyard which in case you can't count scum, is 12." Montage Dragon let out a powerful roar, Atk: ?-3600.
Trudge then grabbed the last card in his hand, "Next I sacrifice my Assault Dog to summon my second Handcuffs Dragon in attack mode." Assault Dog then disappeared and a dragon which a head and tail shaped like handcuffs appeared on the field, Atk: 1800.
Trudge then pointed at Drill Warrior with a smirk, "And now I will show you why trash like you can never beat us from Sector Security. Now Montage Dragon, attack his Drill Warrior!" Montage Dragon began to charge up a purple beam, a yellow beam and a green beam in each of its heads.
Yusei pressed a button on his Duel Disk and a trap card with the image of a scarecrow got revealed, "I activate a trap card, Scrap-Iron Scarecrow, once per turn, I can negate one of your attacks…"
Trudge however pressed a button on his Duel Disk, "I'm sorry to disappoint you but that won't happen, I now activate the trap card Dark Bribe!" A trap card with the image of a lord slipping a piece of gold in to a sleeve appeared on the field.
"Since you activated a trap card, I can negate and destroy it, however in exchange you get to draw one card from your deck." Yusei gritted his teeth and drew a card as Scrap-Iron Scarecrow got destroyed.
Montage Dragon's attack then continued and it fired the beams in the mouths of each of its heads at Drill Warrior and destroyed him, causing Yusei to groan, LP: 4000-2800. SPC: 2-1
Trudge then pointed at Yusei, "And now Handcuffs Dragon, attack his life points directly!" Handcuffs Dragon then flew towards Yusei and used the cuffs on its head to squeeze his Duel Runner from the sides, causing it to slide from side to side a little, Yusei LP: 2800-1000. SPC: 1-0.
Yusei pressed a button on his Duel Disk, "I activate the trap card Shock Draw, now for every 1000 points of battle damage I took this turn, which means I draw three cards." Yusei then drew three more cards and looked at them before he placed them in his holder.
Trudge gritted his teeth, not only had his attacks allowed Yusei to draw three cards, but thanks to his own Dark Bribe he had had drawn a card before that. Trudge glared at Yusei, "You can draw as many cards as you want help you at all Satellite scum. I end my turn now."
Yusei placed his fingers on his deck, it's my turn, I draw." Yusei drew his next card and looked at it. SPC: 0-1. Trudge SPC: 1-2.
Yusei looked at the card he had just drawn and then placed it in his hand before he pressed a button on his Duel Disk, "Now I activate the continuous trap card Call of the Haunted which allows me to special summon a monster back to the field in attack mode, so return to me Drill Warrior." Drill Warrior then reappeared on the field, Atk: 2400.
Trudge gritted his teeth, "You worthless Satellite reject, you could've stopped my Handcuffs Dragon's attack but you chose not to in order to draw more cards."
Yusei looked at him, "That's also a fact, however due to you people from Sector Security using similar decks, I seen other poor people who has been forced to face Handcuffs Dragon and seen its effect to equip itself to the monster that destroyed it in battle and sent it to the graveyard, so you could've just sent it on a suicide attack in to Drill Warrior in order to weaken him." Trudge gritted his teeth since if Yusei had brought back Drill Warrior he might have actually done that.
Yusei then grabbed one of the cards in his hand, "Next I summon the tuner monster Junk Synchron." A small orange mechanical looking monster with a white scarf, Atk: 1300.
Trudge gritted his teeth, "Another tuner monster? You plan on Synchro Summoning again?"
Yusei grabbed a card in his hand, "Indeed I do but before I do, since I have a Junk monster on my field, I special summon Junk Servant from my hand in attack mode." A warrior in a red, black and orange armor appeared on the field, Atk: 1500.
Yusei then grabbed another card from his hand, "And next, since I also have a tuner monster on my field, I summon Boost Warrior in attack mode." A small warrior with red spiky hair and blue armor appeared on the field, Atk: 300.
Yusei then held out his hand towards Boost Warrior, "And now, Boost Warrior's special ability will increase the attack points of all warrior monsters on my field by 300." Junk Synchron & Junk Servant, Atk: 1300-1600/1500-1800. Drill Warrior & Boost Warrior, Atk: 2400-2700/300-600.
Yusei then held out his hand towards Junk Synchron, "And now I tune my level 3 Junk Synchron with my level 4 Junk Servant." Junk Synchron pulled in a lever and turned in to three rings of green energy and Junk Servant flew in to them, "Clustering roars turn in to an echoing arrow that tears through the sky! Become the path it shines upon!"
Junk Servant then became four stars that turned in to a beam of light, "I Synchro Summon! Now appear, level 7 Junk Archer!" A warrior in orange armor and one eye in its helmet wielding a bow appeared on the field, Atk: 2300-2600.
Yusei then pointed at Montage Dragon, "And now I activate Junk Archer's special ability. Once per turn I can remove one of your monsters from play until the end phase of the turn, so let your arrow fly Junk Archer, and take out Montage Dragon with Bullseye Banishing!" Junk Archer pulled the string of his bow and the arrow on it began to glow white before he fired it at Montage Dragon and once it hit him it sucked him in to a vortex.
Trudge gritted his teeth frustrated since if Montage Dragon were to be returned to the field like this then he would have 0 attack points since he wouldn't have been summoned through his effect. However he knew that it didn't even matter since the duel was already over.
Yusei then pressed a button on his Duel Disk and his last face down card, a trap card with the image of a roaring red ogre got revealed, "And next I activate the continuous trap Battleguard Rage and select Junk Archer as the target for its effect, which means that not only does Archer gain 1000 attack points, but also any monster he destroys in battle is returned to the hand, which means that Handcuffs Dragon's ability is useless." Junk Archer, Atk: 2600-3600. Trudge gritted his teeth since he knew Yusei didn't have to do that in order to win.
Yusei then pointed at Handcuffs Dragon, "And now Junk Archer, attack his Handcuffs Dragon, Scrap Arrow!" Junk Archer pulled the string of his bow again and fired an arrow that got surrounded by blue energy and hit Handcuffs Dragon and destroyed him, causing Trudge to groan in pain, LP: 2800-1000. SPC: 2-1.
Yusei drove ahead of Trudge and turned his Duel Runner on the side and pointed at Trudge, "This is now over, Drill Warrior attack his life points directly!" Drill Warrior flew towards Trudge and with the drill on his right arm spinning and rammed it in to Trudge's Duel Runner, causing him to scream, Trudge LP: 1000-0.
Steam then came out of Trudge's Duel Runner which began to slow down, and once it had fully stopped, Trudge gritted his teeth and slammed his fist in to the monitor on his Duel Runner in frustration, "Damn it! How could I lose to some trashy reject from the Satellite?"
He then heard an engine stop in front of him and looked up and saw Yusei looking at him, "You keep calling us trash, scum and rejects, and it's because of that that you didn't see me as a challenge. And if you want to find an excuse for your defeat then how about the fact that you underestimated me and my deck."
Yusei then pointed at Trudge, "A person who calls cards trash is not a true duelist, any card can be useful if used right. Now if you have any honor as a duelist then you will stop hunting Rally."
Yusei revved up his engine after saying that and drove off. Trudge looked after him with resentment in his eyes, "This isn't over, I will make you pay for this you Satellite reject."
A LITTLE WHILE LATER,
Yusei was standing right next to the railing next to the sea separating the Satellite from New Domino City with his Duel Runner next to him and his helmet underneath his arm, "Watch out Jack, I'm coming for you, and then I will take Stardust Dragon back."
So Yusei managed to fix the engine problem he had with his Duel Runner because of the new chip he got from his friend Rally, however the chip were stolen and Sector Security came to catch Rally and take the chip back.
