"You can't be serious.'' Mi Sun cried as she paced around the room.
"Yes I am.'' Jin assured her as he stood up.''I'm looking for a new job tomorrow.''
"So now I have to work twice as hard until you find a job, that is if you even do.'' Mi Sun stated sitting down on the bed.
"I'll find one.'' Jin said sitting next to Mi Sun.
"If you haven't noticed nobody is hiring right now, especially when it comes to people who look like us.'' Mi Sun said.
"That's why I'm going to start my own business.'' Jin told her.
"i don't think now is the right time for that.'' Mi Sun sighed.
"It's the perfect time. You make enough money for us to live on.'' Jin said.''Nesides I already quit.''
"You what?'' Mi Sun cried standing up.
"I quit this morning.'' Jin explained.
"Why would you do that?'' Mi Sun asked once again pacing the room.
"Isn't it obvious?'' Jin asked.''Besides I thought you hated my job.''
"Not when I might not have one soon.'' Mi Sun stated sitting down once more and putting her head in her hands.
"What do you mean?'' Jin asked sitting next to her.
"They've been fireimg nurses and anyone else who refuses to get the new vaccine for the sickness.'' Mi Sun said looking up at her husband with tears in her eyes.
"Just get the shot and everything will be fine.'' Jin told her.
"It's only been out for a few weeks. Who knows what the side affects are.'' MI Sun said pulling the blanket around her.
"Everything will be fine. Just give it time.'' Jin said putting his arm around Mi Sun and turning off the lamp.
The next day Mi Sun packed a bag for herself and one for Ji Yeon.
"How come I can't go?'' Min Jun asked as he watched his mother pack.
"Because you start school soon.'' Mi Sun reminded him.''In fact Betty should be here any minute to pick you up to get your school supplies.''
"I don't want to go to the store.'' Ji Yeon cried running into the room almost in tears. She hadn't been in a store since the shooting.
"We're going to the airport while your brother goes to the store.'' Mi Sun said picking Ji Yeon up to comfort her.
The doorbell rang and Min Jun ram to answer it, hoping it was Phil.
"Are you guys going too?'' Min Jun asked with a frown as he stepped aside allowing his aunt and cousin inside.
"Yeah. Now that they're opening the borders, we're getting out of this crazy country for awhile.'' Miju said taking a seat on the couch and pushing Cleo away from her.
Cleo realized that she wasn't going to get any attention from Miju amd ram over to Mun Hee, who bent down and scratched her behind her ears.
"Mun Hee.'' Ji Yeon cried upon seeing her favorite cousin standing in the living room. She ran to her, stopping just short of giving her a hug.
"Where's my hug?'' Mun Hee asked holding her arms out.
"Is your arm better?'' Ji Yeon asked quietly looking up at Mun Hee.
"It is.'' Mun Hee answered be ding down so Ji Yeon could see that her arm was all healed.
Ji Yeon smiled and gave Mun Hee a hug.
"I have some stuff for you.'' Mun Hee said after they had pulled apart from their hug. She produced a grocery bag and held it open so Ji Yeon could see what was inside.
"All my favorite snacks.'' Ji Yeon cried happily grabbing the bag and dumping it out on the floor.
"Since you didn't get any last time I went amd picked them up for you.'' Mun Hee told her.
"Thank you.'' Ji Yeon said as she attempted to open a box of panda cookies.
"I'll help you if you give me one.'' Min Jun offered.
Ji Yeon handed him the box. He opened it and dumped a few into his palm before handing the box back to Ji Yeon just as the doorbell rang.
"Don't worry. We'll get more snacks when we go see grandma and grandpa.'' Mun Hee assured her when Ji Yeon looked up at her with a frown after seeing what Min Jun did.
As the girls gpt ready to leave for their flight the boys headed off to the store with Betty to get ready for school.
"So are you the only one in your family going back to school?'' Phil asked as they neared the store.
"My dad is taking my older brother and sister school shopping while my mom and Ji Yeon get to go see my grandparents.'' Min Jun explained crossing his arms.
"Little kids are no fair.'' Phil agreed also crossing his arms.''In fact, sisters are no fair. Lil is with Susie picking out her first day of school outfit. She doesn't want to do anything with me no more.''
"You're lucky. I still gotta help Ji Yeon with stuff.'' Min Jun told him.
Once at the store the boys got busy picking out school supplies and forgot all about their sister troubles.
Things pertaining to the sickness began to settle down thanks to the vaccine and the kids returned to school. Phil wasn't to happy that he could no longer attend school in his pajamas, but at the same time he was happy to be in the same class as Min Jun.
"I never thought I'd miss coming to school.'' Min Jun commented as he joined Phil at their assigned desks, which were right next to each other.
"Yeah. Me too. It's good to see more people then just my family.'' Phil agreed taking his seat.
Dil however was finding school to be somewhat of a challenge. He had been excited at first when he found out that the schools were reopening and that he would be going to pre school after all, he was dismayed however when he found out that Ji Yeon wouldn't be joining him.
"Why can't you come to pre school with me?'' Dil had asked her after he had come home from getting his school supplies.
"Coz I can't.'' Ji Yeon told him.
"But why not?'' Dil asked.''We can.''
"I just can't.'' Ji Yeon cried and ended the video call.
Dil didn't hear from her until after the first day of school had ended. He rode home on the bus that took all of the pre schoolers home a few hours before the older kids got out of school. He trudged up to the front door and walked inside only to race up to the end table where his tablet sat charging.
He tapped to accept the incoming call seeing that it was Ji Yeon.
"Hi Dil. Did you go to school today?'' Ji Yeon asked.
"Yeah. I just got home from school.'' Dil told her.
"I'm sorry if I was mean to you before you went to school.'' Ji Yeon apologized looking away for a second.
"It's OK, but why did you act like that when I asked you if you were going to school too?'' Dil asked.
"Cuz I was scared to go, and mommy didn't want me to go. We're at my grandparents house.'' Ji Yeon explained.''I gotta go back to sleep. I'll talk to you later.''
They hung up and Dil went into the kitchen to get a snack. He grabbed a few Reptar cookies and a bottle of juice and sat down on the couch to watch Goober while he waited for his older brother and friends to come home.
