No one would have believed in the late years of the 20th century, that human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space. No one could have dreamed that we were being scrutinized, like someone with a microscope may study creatures that swarm and multiply in a single drop of water. No one even considered the possibility of Life on other planets and yet, across the gulf of space, minds immeasurably superior to ours, regarded this planet with envious eyes, slowly and surely, drawing their plans against us once more.

Across the void of space on the planet of Mars, the race that was known as the Martians watched and studied our own planet. Over eight million years have passed for their civilization since the greatness that was once theirs, a golden age that was long gone after the long fight civil War that happened 5,000 years ago. Now, they've watched this planet as it continued to grow become green and eventually gave way to watch Humanity grow and become the greatest dominant species on the planet then Drew their plans against them for the first invasion. All the way in 1898, the Invaders came conquered most of England but in the end Earth's own littlest allies, the bacteria that had been taken care of on Mars, foiled the alien invasion only a week into its invasion plan.

The last survivors ahead inevitably succumb to the bacteria that was laid on Earth, made sure all of their technology and anything that was related to them in the human mind was destroyed. These xenopaths as they were called, use the vast telepathic powers to destroy any memory of the first invasion. They sent their final reports to the elder council, before they too succumbed to the bacteria that was in our blood.

The council decided to wait on invading Earth as it seemed that they had found a way to keep the biosphere of Mars intact for many more years. However, this "discovery" only lasted until the year of 1994. The final survivors of the Martian race declared their displeasure with the senior elder of the council, his plan to keep them as peacefully away from Earth had led to even more of their own dying in the very atmosphere of the planet Venus. As the senior elder was telepathically executed, though, final members of The Martian elder council began making new plans for the conquest and occupation of Earth. They had brought back the medicines that had been used to conquer all the diseases on Mars when they used to be able to sustain life until it became this red unearthly alien planet.

As the remaining council members of The Martian race discussed the viability of another conquest of the planet earth, their young sunward neighbor, the youngest of the elder council, spoke up.

"Well I have never witnessed a telepathic execution before," the youngest elder said, his voice monotone in the metallic void that was a council chambers, "I have begun to see the viability of the plan to occupy our young sunward neighbor, the planet known as Earth. However, our first invasion of the planet met with absolute failure due to our arrogance in believing that Earth had not produced any microscopic life forms that could destroy our immune system which we were not prepared for."

The rest of the elders of the council nodded in agreement, their large cephalopod-like heads bulging as their brains thought back on the years past of the report of the xenopaths to have reported the failure of the conquest of Earth. Back then the greatest threat to their entire race had been the British Empire but now that Empire was gone. In its place were a bunch of other supernations, the least of which included Britain, America, China, and the place known as Russia. Yet as these humans scurried about their own little lives, unknowing about anything that had to do with life on other planets or what lived upon them centuries or even millennia ago, these humans were nothing more than small ants in the plan of the cosmos. At least, in the view of the Martians that was the case.

"We have decided to actually try a new plan of attack," the young elder spoke, making the others look upon him in regards of curiosity, "ages before this council came to be, our forbearers came up with the idea of planting prototype like weaponry under the surface of the Earth in hopes of actually colonizing the planet in case no sentient life form ever came. It seems that their plans for no sentient life were... Without any logic. With the humans occupying almost every single corner of this world, it has come to my attention that in the end these prototype tripods will be the forebearers of our new invasion, using technology we forgot about in ages past such as Shields and much more efficient heat rays, we will be able to protect ourselves as we produce way more hydrogen accelerators just to send in the final forces that we will need to conquer the planet."

"However," one of the much older members of the elder Martian council spoke up, one of his many long tentacles waving at the youngest member, "we cannot just rely on this technology, not only is it outdated but it is also faulty and we have not used it in so long. These tripods will not be able to handle the rigorous ascensions that will be needed to pull themselves out of the earth after so many millennia. The only way for them to escape is for the ground above them to be softened up for them to lift themselves free of the very Earth that traps them."

"I have already made plans for this, as I will be showing you this," the youngest elder councilman waved one of his small tentacles towards a screen that flickered to life, showing the much older prototype tripods that the elder martians had used in the past to help the in the conquest of Mars against other species that inhabited it, "unlike our machinery from the earth year of 1898, these tripods are from an age when war was abundant on our planet. These are true war machines the only reason we have forgotten about them is because we decided not to continue their line after we finish conquering Mars. These machines are actually much better variant of our fighting machine or even the tempest class fighting machine that we used sparingly on Earth, taking into account that the old heat rays actually had to be manually aimed and fired instead of using telepathic controls, able to collect the blood of those caught instead of us having to use the handling machines or the human farms that we had on Earth."

"These tripods were the mainstay War machine of Mars until we decided that they were no longer needed and switched to the much more mundane and much more innovative machines, like the handling machine, the xenopath Pentapods, the scout machines, the transport machines and the tempests. Such machines will not be able to be used in this invasion as they are now outdated relics of the past. If this invasion is to succeed, we are to be only using the war machines that helped us conquer Mars, we must use these new tripods make them better, update the technology to actually fit our needs as we go to war with a planet that has more humans on it than it ever did in our first invasion or anytime in our long history."

"It is decided then," one of the middle aged members of the council said, "we will be using these new machines of war to conquer the humans, new designs will be built up for the machines that will be needed to build our infrastructure on the planet, new handling machines and new upgraded tripods of the old war machine will be brought up. Several large-scale hydrogen accelerators will also be constructed and will fire pods at each of the landmasses of the Earth. With these new numerous pods out there on the planet, we will be needing pilots to be sent into the machines on the planet Earth before we can actually have any troops land. As such, we will be using the old beaming technology we use during the first war of Mars, our xenopaths will be able to handle the stresses needed to transport several of the property trained pilots into the tripods under the Earth as our people mass produce new offspring to placate any of the dying population that will not be able to join us on this Conquest. In all my years, I have never once witnessed such growing discontent among our people but now is the time to act and to act we must conquer as we once did in ages long gone."

"The problem is of course the humans," one of the older council members muttered, "with their technology changing in our remaining stagnant after so many years, we will need to set up a quick and easy base to actually make sure that our technology can be upgraded as quickly as possible on the planet. Any old tripods can be sent at the enemy to destroy them as we can handle any upgrades needed to the older war machines, as such any of the new war machines are produced will have to take precedence over any of the new designs brought forth by the research teams that will be assigned to this project."

With that final word on the subject, the Martian elder council gave word to the rest of the surviving members of The Martian race as they will begin the reoccupation and conquest of Earth. And on the planet of Earth, humans went about their daily lives, unknowing, unseeing, truly ignorant of what was taking place on Mars, as the chances of any life, according to their scientists coming from Mars, was a million to one.

Weeks would pass as the large hydrogen accelerators were constructed, hidden in the craters of Mars. The Martians busy the selves, going to and fro about their work, readying themselves for the invasion of Earth. Upon their backs were small, newly formed spores and which new offspring of the Martian race would be budded off. The Martian race was able to actually create and use bodies as they chose, they were unable to produce any living life forms through science so they had to bud off their own species.

In deep research Chambers the Martians tested the new weaponry that they would be needing to equip their new tripods of War, these new heat rays would be able to disintegrate any living matter upon contact instead of igniting them on fire like the old ones have been able to do. With these new upgrades came new side effects that the Martians were pleased with, such as being able to change the heat ray from being able to destroy organic matter to violently causing objects that were inorganic to be flung in a certain direction wherever the heat ray touched. New types of black smoke were invented, as the old war machines were able to output a rather large quantity of particles into the air after they sounded off an information dump in the form of a sound, which was used to intimidate the enemy as much as it was for transferring information from one tripod to another. These black smoke particles will fill the air and make it so human beings would start choking if intoxicated enough by this black powder, however it would take much more than just a single breath intake of this black powder to actually cause any significant damage.

As such they were planning for new types of injection for the black smoke to be used instead of just firing pods that were burst open like during the failed 1898 invasion. Instead they decided to actually be able to fire it as if it were a smoke, a black cloud that would cover an area before needing to have a steam propelled device that would cause the black powder to become inert, leaving it like ash. As such these new weapons would be continually produced on the planet, while the research teams would be able to continually upgrade and provide more information to the ones down on the planet of the discoveries. However, they would probably only last as long as the invasion continued and as such, the elder council designated that an entire team would be dedicated to the medical field which would deal with any of the small, insignificant microorganisms that were on the planet Earth. Due to the lack of foresight of the first invasion, the elders were very sure that the bacteria would attack them as well so wanted to make sure all martians were immune to all diseases on the planet of Earth.

Because of the imperative nature of this mission, many of the research team of the medical field would be going in the first few pods that would begin the invasion of Earth. New war machines had been brought off the line following the designs of the old ones that were buried under the Earth, these ones were smaller by about 50 ft from the towering 150-ft tall behemoths that were used during the Great Martian War in the far-flung past. but as these behemoths would be the ones protecting the pods as they landed in vital locations across the globe, the xenopaths of Mars were busy making the final preparations of the pilots to be launched into the second invasion.

It's final preparations were made for these pilots, the older council washed as the xenopaths used their telepathic powers to activate the old beaming technology that have been used during the War of ages long forgotten, the hum and roar of these engines that had been used to transport Martian warriors across the vastness that was Mars when it had been green and not as red as it was now. As the pilots stepped into the pods that would be able to transport them into the war machines that were buried underneath the Earth's surface, the elders watched in trepidation before the first pods were launched. In mere moments that felt like millennia, the pods entered the Earth's atmosphere and under the mind boggling speed of thought.

The elders waited, waiting for the report that the pods had successfully entered their War machines. Moments passed, a few minutes passed, and just when it seemed like it had been an utter failure, the first report came in. It seemed that upon entering the atmosphere, the pods had caused a weather disturbance, forcing them to actually ride the storm and use the Earth's own lightning to get into the war machines. But because of this mode of transportation it would take a little while for the machines to be powered up properly, due to the influx of electric energy instead of the standard energy that the war machine used.

Despite this setback, it would only take at least half an hour or so in human time to have the tripods that were under the Earth in full fighting condition. From this report, and others like it from across the globe, the Martians fired their hydrogen accelerators. The Earth would belong to the Martians at last.
