Bakugan Dragon Brawlers Chapter 4: Hiccup and Toothless, a How to Train Your Dragon + Bakugan Battle Brawlers Crossover fanfic

Hey guys and gals, CMBasher7 here with a new chapter in Bakugan Dragon Brawlers that I hope you enjoy.

As you already know, I don't own anything from How To Train Your Dragon or the Bakugan series or any Fan Made Bakugan's that other people drew unless I created it myself, we understand?

If so, Good for you.

Also I don't understand why you people keep thinking I'm gonna add A Pyrus Leonidas, when I actually meant I am going to add drawings by someone who is called Pyrus-Leonidas, a deviantart artist.

I apologize for any autocorrects, misspellings, or missing words in any future and/or previous works of mine.

Now with that out of the way, BAKUGAN BRAWL!

Last Time on Bakugan; Dragon Brawlers, The Bridge...

Hiccup is standing in front of the railings on a bridge as he tightened his grip on Toothless.

"Well, If you want to save the Bakugan's by yourself, then be my guest. Because our deal is done." Hiccup said as he reared his arm with Toothless in it back.

"IT'S OVER!" Hiccup shouted as he threw Toothless over the bridge and into the river below.

The Darkus Furynoid landed in the water with a splash as Hiccup's and Toothless friendship was through.

...

"So long, Toothless. This is my goodbye, forever." Hiccup quietly said looking over the river as he headed back with his hair covering his eyes.

(Play Bakugan Battle Brawlers Theme Song)

Haddock Household, Later that night...

It's nighttime now, as Hiccup had made his way back home after having gotten rid of Toothless by throwing him into the river. Right now, he was in his room talking to the Dragon Brawlers Team as he wanted someone to talk to right now after what had happened.

"Y-Your kidding, right? You THREW Toothless into the river?!" Fishlegs asked with a shocked tone that Hiccup and Toothless were no longer partners.

Hiccup did tell the other Dragon Brawlers what had happened today, but he didn't tell them what caused him to throw Toothless into the river.

"B-But why?" Heather asked with confusion and shock.

"Yeah, I thought yu and Toothless finally 'ad an understandin' agreement wit one anothur." Gobber said also shocked like the other 6 members of the Dragon Brawlers.

"It also explains why you are now in such an unhappy mood today." Tuffnut added.

"What are you talking about? I'm not unhappy, in fact, I'm GLAD that Toothless is gone." Hiccup denied that he was unhappy.

"But seriously, Hiccup, don't you think that maybe you should, I don't know, go back and try to forgive Toothless?" Astrid asked with a bit of worry.

"Hmm?" Hiccup said looking at Astrid.

"He's probably feeling lost and afraid down there in the river. Maybe even feeling alone and helpless." Astrid said, which struck an emotional nerve in Hiccup, not an emotional aggressive nerve, but instead an emotional saddening nerve.

"Alone and Helpless..." Hiccup muttered under his breath knowing how that felt, he experiences it every day and night.

"I guess you don't know what you have, until it's gone forever." Snotlout said with a prideful tone.

"Snotlout, now is not the time to taunt Hiccup." Fishlegs said not happy about Snotlout pride.

Just when Snotlout had said that, he remembered what Toothless said to him before he threw the Mysterious Darkus Bakugan into the river.

Begin Flashback...

"All Bakugan's are alive, but the ones that go to the Doom Dimension are truly gone. THEY WILL NEVER RETURN!" Past Toothless's said in Hiccup's mind.

End Flashback...

Hiccup shakes his head to get rid of the thought of Toothless out of his mind. But it just would not go away no matter what.

"Who needs him anyways?" Hiccup said stubbornly as he was about to head towards his bed. "I know I don't."

"Hiccup, don't say that." Ruffnut said.

"Please, Hiccy, don't go!" Tuffnut said but Hiccup ignored the twins as he turns off his monitor. Leaving the Dragon Brawlers to talk amongst themselves, leaving their original leader by himself.

He goes to his bed and lays down facing away from his computer as he sleeps, but he knows that he might not get some rest tonight.

Meanwhile with Toothless...

Back at the river that Hiccup threw Toothless in, the Darkus Furynoid is in his Ball Form as a fish swims up to him, it nudges the Dragon Class Bakugan twice until Toothless opens up into his True Ball Form

Thankfully, the need for not having any lungs or gills to breathe in this form was a great plus.

"Excuse me, delicious feesh, can you push me towards the shore." Toothless demanded to be removed from the river floor, not knowing that the animals of Earth are not as intelligent as the inhabitants of Vestroia.

The Fish, being a fish, swims away from Toothless and continues on it's journey and life cycle. But in doing so, the fish created a small current powerful to move the Darkus Bakugan out of the river floor.

"What?! No! W-Wait! I was merely-W-WHOA!" Toothless cried out as he tries to flap his wings against the current, but it's fruitless.

Suddenly a small school of fish swim past the Furynoid as he helpless in his attempt to get back on shore and get away from the fishes.

The Fishes swim past Toothless unintentionally causing the Darkus Furynoid to be taken by the river's current as he screams.

"AAAAAHHHH!" Toothless screams as he was whisked away by the river's water current.

Berk High, The Next Day...

It's the next day as Hiccup had arrived at Berk High, but he wasn't his usual self today. He was tired as he hadn't gotten any sleep last night as his mind had kept replaying what he did to Toothless yesterday when he threw the Darkus Bakugan into the river.

"*Yawwwn* Hey, Fishlegs." Hiccup tiredly greeted his best human friend.

"Hey, Hiccup. You don't look so good." Fishlegs said worried about his friend.

"I'm fiiine." Hiccup tiredly yawned as Fishlegs was not fully convinced.

"I see." A male voice spoke with interest. Both the Darkus and Subterra Dragon Brawlers heard the voice as they look and saw a small group of their classmates going over Battle Strategies.

One of their classmates is holding a computer and seems to be the one telling the strategies. He is an almost skinny looking teen wearing square glasses with a magenta rim. He is wearing a pair of sunny yellow trousers with a white T-shirt underneath an opened collar teal jacket. His hair is neat, yet sloppy at the same time and is dyed a sea-foam green color. This is Shaun Tucker.(1)

"Well, in that case, you should probably set a trap in advance." Shaun informs his classmate as he holds his computer which shows a Bakugan Battle Simulation. "If you avoid a battle here, then your opponent will naturally attack like this. You see what I mean?"

"Well, I do now." A Classmate said as the others awe at Shaun's amazing strategic planning.

"Incredible." Another Classmate praises Shaun.

"Hey, Shaun." Fishlegs called to his sea-foam green haired classmate.

Shaun heard the Dragon Brawlers of Subterra as he turned to see both the Dragon Brawler of Subterra and the Dragon Brawler of Darkus standing behind him with interest in their eyes.

"We didn't know you were so into Bakugan." Hiccup tiredly said with interest.

Before the Bakugan's arrival 6 months ago, Shaun was a somewhat quiet, self-keeping kid with good grades, on par with Hiccup, Fishlegs, Astrid, and Heather. So seeing a classmate who the two Dragon Brawlers knew was an interesting thing to see, even when they showed no signs of it.

"Oh, uh... yeah, but I've never been in a full on battle before. I'm not really ready." Shaun admitted as while he was interested in Bakugan's, he only makes plans and strategies for other players to use.

Hiccup hearing that his classmate, who has incredible strategy planning, was not ready for a full on Bakugan Battle made the auburn haired Darkus Brawlers become somewhat awake as he wanted to help train his strategic classmate in Bakugan.

"Not ready? You have incredible battle strategy, I can help train you on how to play in an actual Bakugan Battle." Hiccup offered.

"Well, I'd like to collect data and use it to come up with various battle strategies. Look." Shaun said showing Hiccup and Fishlegs his computer as he showed a simulation of a Pyrus Fear Ripper battling against a Pyrus Mantris.

"First scenario..." Shaun's computer voice AI said.

"Battle Strategy, Huh? I bet you Snotlout would say, let me get my Snotlout accent ready, (clear throat) "Battle Strategies? I figured the best strategy is to increase the B-Power of your team. Don't ya think? SNOTLOUT! SNOTLOUT! OI! OI! OI!" How was that?" Hiccup tiredly asked with a spot-on Snotlout imitation.

"Heheh..." Shaun chuckled in agreement. "True, but it's much more than that, If your counter ability is set then it's possible to defeat even the strongest enemy with less power than yours." He said.

"Really now?" Hiccup asked with intrigued curiosity, but what Shaun was about to say next made him be reminded of yesterday's battle.

"Uh Huh, Bakugan is more than just a battle of brawn and brute force, it's also an elaborate tactical game of brains and careful timing. One must engage in battle while trying to outsmart the opponent by anticipating their actions." Shaun explained, causing Hiccup to think about yesterday's battle with Toothless and Aquos Nullkavee.

'How can Shaun know so much about Bakugan battles when he's never even Brawled before?' Hiccup thought to himself as his stress was rapidly rising due to being reminded of yesterday's battle and his lack of sleep.

"I gotta say, Shaun's ideas are pretty amazing, I'd bet even you would have a hard time beating him, Hiccup, even with your strongest Bakugan's." A classmate wearing a green sleeveless sleeveless shirt with a yellow star said.

With his stress at the breaking point due to getting no sleep last night, and Shaun unintentionally reminding him about Toothless. Hiccup yelled with rage and anger.

Fishlegs noticed Hiccup's angered expression as he already deduced that this was from his original leader's lack of sleep yesterday.

"Hiccup, why don't you calm down before you do somethi-" Fishlegs tried to say, but was interrupted by the Darkus Brawler of the Dragon Brawlers.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" Hiccup yelled, causing many to jump back in fear within and out of the classroom as well as the school grounds. "Alright then, I challenge you to a Bakugan Battle, your choice and time, you got that?" He said not thinking straight.

This was new from Hiccup, everyone in the class could tell that, but since some of them couldn't or didn't know of Hiccup getting no sleep last night and him getting rid of Toothless, except Fishlegs, who's hand was reintroduced to his face.

"W-What?! But I didn't say..." Shaun tried to diffuse the situation, but Hiccup interrupted him.

"Maybe all your big fancy strategy aren't worth anything." Hiccup said walking over to Shaun as his tired brain wasn't thinking.

"So why don't you put your money where your mouth is or keep it SHUT!" Hiccup shouted at Shaun.

With Hiccup's rage and Shaun's nervousness combined, it was clear to see that this was about to become a recipe for disaster. Because once Hiccup got up to Shaun's face the boy was slowly walking backwards and accidentally tripped himself causing him to fall and loose grip of his computer which flew from his hands and land on the floor, almost breaking it.

Worried for his computer, which was a present he got from his grandpa, he immediately got up with a worried and concerned expression for his computer.

"Oh no, my computer!" Shaun said quickly standing on his feet and rushing towards it to check for any damages.

Hiccup, immediately and completely became fully awake, and realizes what he has unintentionally done as he looks frightened and as he looks around his classroom he sees looks of disapproval and concern, but the biggest one the son of Stoick could see from everyone, except from Fishlegs who knows him better,...

...

Was fear.

Fear... of him.

"I-I'm sorry. I-I-I didn't mean to, Shaun. I wasn't thinking." Hiccup fearfully apologized, not for himself, but for everyone that saw what he did.

"Now why did you have to go and do that for?" A student said to Hiccup. "You probably broke his computer." He added, adding more to Hiccup's guilt and more truth to Toothless's words yesterday about how he doesn't think when he's stressed.

"Yeah, way to go, Hiccup." The green sleeveless shirt with a yellow star student said.

"W-What do you mean? I didn't mean for that to happen. I-I wasn't thinking straight. Honest." Hiccup tries to stop the other students from adding more guilt and stress to him, but it wasn't working.

Shaun looked at Hiccup with a terrified look in his eyes and face.

"I-It wasn't my fault." Hiccup said as he ran away in fear and shame.

Fishlegs immediately chased after his friend to try and help comfort him.

"Yeah, Whatever." The student with a green sleeveless shirt and yellow star said, not believing the Darkus Dragon Brawler.

Shaun just kept staring at Hiccup with his look of fear, even when the boy wasn't in the classroom.

After School, Haddock's Household, Dusk...

Hiccup and Fishlegs asked their principal to let them go home early and, thankfully, seeing the terrified and shamed look on Hiccup's face was enough to let the two boys return home with homework just so they don't miss their studies as well as informing their after school classes of why the two boys weren't in school.

Fishlegs tried to offer his help to his friend, but Hiccup told the Subterra Brawler that he has to solve his own problems and figure out his own solutions, thankfully, but with some hesitation, Fishlegs left Hiccup alone.

Hiccup falls down on his bed thinking of what had just transpired today at school.

"I can't seem to do anything right and it's all because of Toothless!" Hiccup said trying to take his anger out on something, but even he knew that it wasn't the Furynoid's fault today.

He then thinks about Toothless as well as what Astrid said to him about how alone and helpless the mysterious Darkus Bakugan probably is right now being in that river.

"Poor Toothless..." Hiccup quietly said with guilt.

He then turns away from his window as he tries to get rid of his guilt of Toothless.

"What am I saying? I-I'm glad he's gone." Hiccup said, but even he knew that was a lie.

With Shaun at his house...

Shaun was making sure his computer was still operational as he renters his Bakugan Login Code on his computer which, to him was thankful, still worked.

"Oh, good. I didn't loose any of the data." Shaun gave a big sigh of relief.

He then thinks about what Hiccup said, about how he was so into Bakugan when he doesn't even battle and only makes strategies.

"I don't get you Hiccup, I mean is it so wrong to love Bakugan even when I don't actually battle?" Shaun asked himself. "I'm happy just simulating the battles and planning my strategies like in a chess game." He said.

Just then someone spoke to him from his computer. And it wasn't his grandpa that's for sure.

"You sure about that?" Masque asked Shaun.

Shaun leaped out of his chair as he stumbled backwards when Masque spoke to him.

"Aaahh! W-What?" Shaun asked demanding answers.

At Masque's Hideout...

"Are you sure you don't want to put those brilliant ideas of yours into action, Hmm?" Masque questioned and complimented Shaun, wanting the boy to use his talent of planning to defeat Hiccup.

"It seems like a waste telling others of your talent instead of using them yourself." Masque told Shaun as he gave a confident smirk.

Back at Shaun's house...

"WHO ARE YOU?!" Shaun demanded answers from... whoever was calling him.

Just then the screen of Shaun's computer glowed purple as a bright flash of light engulfed the strategic planning boy.

Location: Unknown...

When Shaun's vision had returned, the first thing he saw what that he was in a purple colored void and the only things there were him and a giant metallic purple, green and red colored Oni mask with a taunting smile right behind him. He then heard Masque's voice echoing around him but he saw no one.

"My name is Masque. Fight with me and I will help you show the WORLD just how gifted in battle you can truly be." Masque offered Shaun.

Masque then drove the final nail in the coffin as he gave one last offer. An irresistible offer on this amazing deal that he knew Shaun couldn't and wouldn't resist, no matter what.

"And I will help you prove it to anyone who doesn't appreciate it." Masque said to Shaun.

The Next Morning, Berk High...

The Next Morning, the group of Kids that Shaun was talking his strategies too and had added guilt to Hiccup were waiting outside as the student with the boy with the green sleeveless shirt with a yellow star spotting Hiccup heading his way to school as he was looking down with shame and guilt with his hands in his pockets as he tried to look away from everyone staring at him.

"Hey, here comes Hiccup." The Student with the green sleeveless shirt with a yellow star said spotting the original Darkus Dragon Brawler leader.

"This outta be good." Another student said.

As Hiccup was heading near the entrance gate of the school, Hiccup spotted Shaun on the other side of the school, looking almost like an undead zombie as the boy just stared at him with malice and anger. Also there was a Black Baku-Clip on Shaun's shorts.

"O-Oh, Hey, Shaun. W-Were you able to fix your computer? Look, I-I'm really sorry for what I did yesterday I didn't-." Hiccup apologized, but was interrupted by Shaun.

"I don't care for your useless apologies, I challenge you, Henry "Hiccup" Horrendous Haddock the Third, to a Bakugan Battle, right here, right now." Shaun exclaimed with malice.

"W-What? What's gotten into you Shaun?" Hiccup asked confused as Shaun has never been like this in his entire life.

"Hehehe... After all, you said, I'm a nobody unless I battle? Isn't that right?" Shaun questioned as he walked towards Hiccup swaying his arms side-to-side almost like a zombie, almost.

Hiccup knew something was up, so he got into a defensive position, ready for whatever comes his way with his brawl against Shaun.

But what was about to happen next, he wasn't prepared for in the slightest.

...

That being, Shaun having pulled out a black and light green Baku-Launcher with the Doom Core symbol from his backpack and placing it on his forearm.

"W-What?! Where'd you get that?" Hiccup gasped when he saw the Baku-Launcher.

"Oh, so you know what this is, huh, Hiccup? Well then, I'm sure you now know I made a little deal with your old pal, Masque. And I'm about to use it to keep my side of the bargain." Shaun said with a creepy smile.

"Shaun, don't you see what has happened to you?! Masque is the enemy." Hiccup tried to make Shaun realize what he's about to do.

"I do not think so." A slow deep, but intelligent, male voice spoke.

"W-Who said that?" Hiccup asked.

"Show me to him, partner..." The voice spoke again as Shaun grabbed a Bakugan from his Baku-Clip and opened his palm revealing the Bakugan that had spoken to Hiccup.

Shaun pulled a Bakugan from his Baku-Clip and revealed it to Hiccup, he saw it was a Darkus attributed Bakugan. And when Shaun's palm opened, the Bakugan opened up revealing an almost Frankenstein's Monster-like Bakugan. It's head flipped up as it's large purple and black with light green accented arms bursted out from the sides. Decorating it's body was light green stitches like this Bakugan was made of it's own kind put together without care.

"Let me introduce you to my partner, meet Darkus Voltenstein." Shaun introduced his Main Partner Bakugan. "I found him a couple days ago and he has been listening to my strategies and improving them himself when he first talked to me." He said.

"Greetings, Henry. It's so nice to meet you. I heard what you did to Shaun's computer yesterday, and sufficient to say, we're not happy." Voltenstein greeted Hiccup with malice and anger in his deep, yet smart voice.

"Right. Masque's not my enemy, you are, Hiccup." Shaun said determined to get his revenge.

"If it will make you see what has happened to you, then fine, let's battle." Hiccup said, putting his fake glasses away and pulling out his Transporter Card.

"Sounds good to me." Shaun said pulling out his Transporter Card.

"BAKUGAN FIELD OPEN!" Hiccup and Shaun shouted at the same time as they flipped over their Transporter Card as the two cards both glowed a purple color.

The attribute wheel appeared beneath Hiccup and Shaun's feet, with the wheel turning counter clockwise and the ring and center turning clockwise as time began to slowdown, two soccer teams were playing against each other as one player kicked the ball into the goal as the goalie tried to stop the ball.

The world around Hiccup and Shaun changed into the standard Bakugan Battle Field, complete with the classic massive white field.

'I'll prove that I don't need Toothless and that I don't have any stress.' Hiccup told himself in his mind.

Shaun then reached down and pulled a Doom Core from the field.

"Doom Core Set!" Shaun shouted as he tossed the Doom Core into the field causing an unnatural purple water-like ripple in the field.

"Figured someone like you would use the Doom Core on the first turn, but that doesn't mean I'm backing down." Hiccup told Shaun as he pulled out his 1st Gate Card as Shaun did the same.

"GATE CARD SET!" Hiccup and Shaun shouted tossing their 1st Gate Card onto the Field.

The two Gate Cards landed opposite of one another, both glowing purple, and grew in size till they were at least as big as a football field.

Hiccup and Shaun stood facing against one another as the Bakugan Battle of the Darkus type was about to begin.

"Since I challenged you, I'm taking the first turn." Shaun said as he grabbed his first Darkus Bakugan from his Baku-Clip and loaded it on the Baku-Launcher.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Shaun shouted as his Bakugan was launched from the Baku-Launcher, bouncing off of Hiccup's Gate Card and landing on his own Gate Card.

"DARKUS APOLLYON STAND!" Shaun shouted as his first Bakugan opened up.

Rising up from the Shaun's Gate Card was a Black and Purple with Light Green Highlights Skeleton Warrior with a Lance for a Right Hand and a Shield with a Skull for a Left Hand. On its Head, there are two tiny bull-like horns.

"GRAAAHH!!!" Shaun's Darkus Apollyon shouted as it stood on Shaun's Gate Card.

"Darkus Apollyon stands with 2-1-0 B-Power." Hiccup's Baku-Pod informs him.

"Let's do this." Hiccup said to himself as he pulled out a Gate Card from his Gate Card Holder.

"Gate Card Set!" Hiccup shouted as he tossed another Gate Card onto the Field right next to Shaun's first Gate Card on his (Hiccup's) left side.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Hiccup shouted as he tossed his first Darkus Bakugan, which landed on his Second Gate Card.

"DARKUS TERRORCLAW STAND!" Hiccup shouted as his Bakugan revealed it's true form.

Standing on Hiccup's Second Gate Card, was a Gigantic black Crab-like Bakugan with yellow compound eyes with purple accents on it's torso and a sideways mouth.

"KRAAAAKAKAKA!" Hiccup's Darkus Terrorclaw screeched.

"Darkus Terrorclaw stands at 3-0-0 B's." Shaun's Baku-pod informs him.

"Give me a break. Do you really think it's wise to outwit me, Hiccup?" Shaun asked Hiccup as he pulled out his second Gate Card. "Gate Card Set!"

Shaun's Second Gate Card landed in-front of Hiccup's Second Gate Card and next to Hiccup's First Gate Card.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Shaun shouted as he loaded his second Bakugan into the Baku-Launcher as he then launched his Bakugan onto the Field.

"DARKUS REAPER STAND!" Shaun shouted as his Second Darkus Bakugan revealed it's true form.

Rising from Shaun's second Gate Card, is a colossal black and purple with red accents Grim Reaper-like Bakugan wielding an equally large scythe and on the sides of it's cranium are two large upwards pointing horns.

"GRRRRRRR..." Shaun's Reaper lowly growled as it entered the field.

"Darkus Reaper stands with 3-7-0 B's. Caution is strongly advised." Hiccup's Baku-Pod informs him.

Baku-Core appeared and surrounded only Shaun's side of the field as he picked up a strong purple glowing Baku-Core and tossed it at his Darkus Reaper.

"You're Terrorclaw seems lonely, how about I introduce it to my Darkus Reaper." Shaun teased Hiccup as the Baku-Core spun around Shaun's Reaper before it sliced the Baku-Core in two and absorbed the Dark Energy into it's body.

"Ability Activate: MARIONETTE!" Shaun announced the Ability.

Darkus Reaper then lifted it's gigantic grim reaper-like scythe up off the ground, before slamming the end of the scythe down hard upon the ground, embedding it. Then Shaun's Darkus Reaper lifts it's hands up towards Hiccup's Terrorclaw as large purple strings flew out of Shaun's Reapers' skeleton-like fingers and attached themselves to Hiccup's Terrorclaws' limbs.

Shaun's Reaper then manipulated the strings the same way a man does with a puppet or marionette and made Hiccup's Terrorclaw crawl it's way towards the card Shaun's Reaper was on.

"NO, TERRORCLAW!!" Hiccup shouted with worry for his Terrorclaw.

"Finish it, Darkus Reaper!" Shaun commanded his Reaper to send Hiccup's Bakugan to the Doom Dimension.

Shaun's Darkus Reaper then swung it's scythe behind it's head before swinging it at Hiccup's Terrorclaw, the attack lands as a portal rips thru and pulls Hiccup's Terrorclaw in, sending the Darkus Crab Bakugan to the Doom Dimension.

"HAHAHAHAHA!" Shaun laughed maniacally like a mad scientist.

"TERRORCLAW!" Hiccup screamed as he watches his Darkus Terrorclaw be sent to the Doom Dimension forever.

The Baku-Cores disappeared after the battle was over.

Shaun's Darkus Reaper glowed purple as it and the Gate Card flew back to Shaun as he grabbed them both.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Hiccup shouted his anger and stress rising more and more at the lost of another Bakugan.

Hiccup's 2nd Bakugan landed on his 2nd Gate Card and opened up.

"DARKUS JUGGERNOID STAND!" Hiccup shouted as his 2nd Bakugan revealed it's true form.

Rising up from Hiccup's 2nd Gate Card was a Giant black and purple Turtle-like Bakugan that appeared to like a gigantic Alligator Snapping Turtle.

"GRAAAAAHHHH!" Hiccup's Juggernoid roared as it entered the battlefield.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Shaun shouted tossing his Bakugan towards Hiccup's Juggernoid.

"DARKUS REAPER STAND!" Shaun shouted as the Darkus Grim Reaper entered the battlefield.

"GRRRRR..." Shaun's Reaper growled as it rose up from the Gate Card.

Baku-Cores covered the entire field all active ones glowing purple.

"GRAAAH!" Hiccup's Juggernoid roared as it instantly attacked it's opposing enemy.

Hiccup's Juggernoid tackled Shaun's Reaper to the ground creating a shockwave and creating a large cloud of dust.

Suddenly, Shaun then reached down and picked up a Purple Baku-Core that appeared just a bit to his right and tossed it towards his Reaper and Hiccup's Juggernoid.

"Ability Activate: Doom Companion!" Shaun shouted as the Baku-Core swirled up into the air and created a portal to the Doom Dimension.

The portal started to lift up both Hiccup's Juggernoid and Shaun's Reaper as the two were still battling each other, taking them both to the Doom Dimension.

"JUGGERNOID! NO! JUGGERNOID!" Hiccup screamed seeing his Bakugan get taken to the Doom Dimension again, all because of him.

"Heh." Shaun chuckled with satisfaction of what he's done.

The Baku-Cores disappeared after the battle was over once again.

With Hiccup down to one Bakugan, it was now a death match as Shaun just needs to send his last Bakugan to the Doom Dimension and win.

"I can't believe you let that happen! Don't you know what you have done to them?" Hiccup asked Shaun.

"Couldn't be helped." Voltenstein said with anger at Hiccup just like his partner.

"My Reaper's sacrifice was all a part of our strategy, he was just a tool to us, anyways." Shaun said not caring for his own Bakugan.

"What?! How can you say that about them?!" Hiccup said angered.

He took out his last Bakugan as he glared at Shaun and Voltenstein.

"YOU'RE ALL I GOT LEFT WEBAM, SO MAKE IT COUNT! BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Hiccup shouted as he tossed his final Bakugan onto the field at Fear Ripper.

"DARKUS WEBAM STAND!" Hiccup shouted as his last Bakugan revealed it's true form.

Rising up from the Gate Card, a giant black spider-like Bakugan with a purple underbelly and 8 green eyes arranged in the shape of a rhombus appeared standing on it's 8 legs.

"SKEKEKEKE!" Hiccup's Webam screeched as it swipes it's small metal forearms near it's head.

Baku-Cores once again covered the field on both sides.

"Darkus Webam enters the battlefield with 2-0-0 B's." Hiccup's Baku-pod informs him.

Hiccup picked up a mildly powerful Purple Baku-Core and tossed it at his Bakugan.

"Ability Activate: Web Cocoon!" Hiccup shouted as he tossed the Baku-Core at Webam, which spun around the arachnid Bakugan as it bite down on it and absorbed the Dark Energy.

Hiccup's Webam then created with it's webs a cocoon of armor around it's legs, Abdomen, and Cephalothorax (the main body that is in-between the head and abdomen of a spider).

"Darkus Webam's B-Power increased by 1-3-0 B's. Darkus Webam now stands at 3-3-0 B's." Hiccup's and Shaun's Baku-pod informs them both.

Hiccup's Webam then shot out a web, which attached itself to Shaun's Aopollyon's chest before lifting the skeleton Lancer up into the air and slamming it back down.

Apollyon glowed purple before reverting back to ball form as it rolled back to Shaun as the Gate Card and Hiccup's Webam went to the winner.

The Baku-Cores disappeared after that once more.

The score was now; Hiccup: 1, Shaun: 1. This match would be the deciding factor of who wins.

"You're betting it all on a itty bitty Darkus Webam now, how pathetic, I can't believe the Dragon Brawlers thought you were the strongest Brawler. Anyways, Where's your little pet Toothless I heard so much about go, Huh?" Shaun taunted Hiccup.

"I don't need him. At least not to beat someone like you, Shaun." Hiccup shouted with anger and stress.

"Very well then, Let's get on with it, I've been dying to introduce you to Voltenstein's true form." Shaun said with a creepy smile.

"Let's win this, Shaun, no one will make a fool out of you after this." Voltenstein said ready to defeat Hiccup.

"Right." Shaun said as he can already see everyone respecting him in his mind as he loads his partner into the Baku-Launcher.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Shaun shouted aiming at the last Gate Card before launching Voltenstein at the Gate Card.

"DARKUS VOLTENSTEIN STAND!" Shaun shouted as his last Bakugan opened up revealing it's true ball form.

Rising up from the final Gate Card was a giant of a Bakugan, taller than a Robotallion and Saurus combined. He was humanoid in appearance, he has a muscular body, black hair with purple highlights at the end with sideburns, and a pair of light green bolts on both sides of his neck. He also wore purple pants and a pair of heavy purple and light green accented metal boots. His entire body is covered in light green stitches sown onto his body like it was made of different version's of it's own kind. In short, he was like a Kaiju-sized version of Frankenstein's Monster.

"MRRRRAAAAAHHHH!!!!" Voltenstein roared as he entered the battlefield as purple electricity raced across his whole body.

"Darkus Voltenstein stands with 3-4-0 B's. No further data available at the moment." Hiccup's Baku-pod informs him.

"So, we finally get to met for the first time Hiccup. I'm going to give that Webam a one way ticket to the Doom Dimension." Voltenstein said with a deep and intellectual voice.

'Webam's Ability; Web Cocoon is still doing it's job and the Gate Card that Voltenstein is standing on will give it an extra 150 B's. So that means...' Hiccup thought to himself angered at the loss of his two Bakugan's and not thinking ahead of the battle.

"I can beat him." Hiccup said to himself.

"Heh..." Shaun chuckled like he was planning something way before this moment.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Hiccup shouted as he tossed his Webam onto the field.

"DARKUS WEBAM STAND!" He shouted as his last Bakugan stood on the Gate Card and revealed it's true form once again still covered in it's Web Armor.

Baku-Cores again covered the field.

"GATE CARD OPEN!!" Hiccup screamed as his Gate Card opened and powered up Webam even more as a ring of lightning surrounded the Frankenstein and the Spider.

"Darkus Webam now stands at 4-8-0 B's." Hiccup's Baku-Pod informs.

"Nice try, Useless." Shaun said picking up a fiercely glowing Purple Baku-Core. "Ability Activate: SHOCKING REVIVAL!" He screamed as he tossed the Baku-Core at Voltenstein.

The Baku-Core spun around Voltenstein as it then went into his chest as he absorbed the Dark Energy.

Lightning crackled and raced across Voltenstein's whole body originating from his chest where the Baku-Core had entered. Voltenstein lifted one foot into the air, his upper body leaning back along with his arms like he was going to punch something. And then he swiftly smashed the ground causing electricity to surge into the ground before stopping.

"What was that suppose to do?" Hiccup asked confused and on edge of what Voltenstein just did.

"Hehehe... You'll see." Shaun lowly chuckled.

Just then, a black and purple lance pierced into the air from the ground below, like a zombie crawling out of it's own grave. Then a shield with a skull appeared of the same coloration. Hiccup instantly recognizes the shield and lance, since he just defeated the Bakugan wielding those weapons just moments ago.

"HE'S ALIVE! HE'S ALIVE!! MWHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Shaun laughed like a mad scientist who brought a creation to life. More Baku-Cores appeared on Shaun's side than Hiccup's side.

"Wait, is that you're Darkus Apollyon?! I thought I defeated it! What's going on?!" Hiccup questioned as he watched the skeleton lancer crawl out of the ground and onto the battlefield.

"That, dear Hiccup, is just one of the many abilities of an Undead Class Bakugan. You see, Shocking Revival allows me to bring back one defeated Undead Class Bakugan back into battle, and you want to know the fun part, I can use abilities like that at any time." Shaun explained with a smile.

"Darkus Apollyon has been added to the battle, Darkus Voltenstein and Darkus Apollyon stand together with 5-5-0 B's." Hiccup's Baku-Pod informs him.

"And to make sure, Ability Activate: Dimension Four!" Shaun shouted tossing a Baku-Core as the core covered Hiccup's last Gate Card in shadows.

The web armor and the lightning surrounding the 3 Bakugans disappeared as Webam's B-Power returned to it's normal 200 B-Power.

"What?!" Hiccup said with shock at what had just happened. "Oh, No!" He screamed when he saw Webam's armor and the lighting surrounding the 3 Bakugan's disappear.

"Oh dear, you're Webam's back to 200 B's again." Shaun said with faked sadness. "Finish this fight Voltenstein and Apollyon!" He ordered as he picked up a Baku-Core and tossed it at Voltenstein.

The Baku-Core went into the Frankenstein-like Bakugan as he absorbed the Darkus Energy.

"One-Billion Voltage!" Voltenstein shouted as Apollyon aimed it's lance into the air as a lightning storm formed above and struck the lance before Voltenstein grabbed his undead ally by the legs swung the skeleton in circles before launching the Skeleton Bakugan at Hiccup's Webam with an electrified lance aiming straight at the Bakugan, defeating the spider Bakugan. (2)

"WEBAM!" Hiccup screamed as the portal to the Doom Dimension opened up and sucked the Arachnid Bakugan into it.

"WEBAAAAM!!!" Hiccup screamed out at the lost of his final Bakugan of his line-up as the portal closed.

The Baku-Cores disappeared for the last time.

"Hmhmhmhm..." Shaun chuckled at Hiccup's suffering.

Voltenstein and Apollyon glowed purple before returning to their Brawler as Hiccup's Gate Card shrunk in size and went to the winner.

Shaun grabbed both his Bakugan's and the Gate Card with a confident and sinister smirk.

"I win." Shaun smirked.

Time slowly started back up again in the real world when the battlefield disappeared as the soccer ball went into the goal.

"I... I... understand what you mean." Hiccup said in defeat as he fell to his knees.

The clouds in the sky turned grey as it slowly started to rain.

"You planned a counter strategy from the start, which would make my Gate Card attribute energy useless against it. You set a trap for me because you knew what I would do before it happened!" Hiccup said understanding Shaun's strategy and seeing what it had cost him.

"No! No! No! No!" Hiccup shouted in defeat his voice getting louder at his stupidity for not seeing the trap as he slams his fist into the ground for the lost of his Bakugan's at the expense of his incompetence.

"So, I take it Hiccup didn't win this battle." The kid with the green sleeveless shirt with a yellow star said.

"Good job, buddy." The kid with a purple shirt and black scarf said.

"It was no big deal." Shaun said walking away into the school with Voltenstein on his shoulder.

"Hey, what's going on?" Snotlout asked curious about the commotion as he walked up to them as he walked to school.

"Oh, Hiccup was challenged to a match against Shaun and lost. Serve's him right." The kid with the purple shirt and black scarf told him pointing at the loser.

The other kids left into the school, leaving only Hiccup and Snotlout the only ones outside.

"I was blinded by my own rage and stress and couldn't do anything. I was utterly helpless to save them. Terrorclaw... Juggernoid... Webam... It's all my fault, I'm so sorry. Toothless was right." Hiccup said with tears running down his face as Snotlout watches him in pity.

Now, Snotlout may always despise Hiccup and hate him with all of his gut, but that doesn't mean he couldn't help him when he needs it the most. He knows what Hiccup is now going through since he went through it with his Cyndeous, Warius, and Seige.

So, with a sigh of defeat he walks over and does the one thing no one would have expected him to do in a million years or more.

...

He gives his cousin a hug.

Hiccup looks up and sees Snotlout hugging him, no one told him to hug him, it wasn't a fake one-off hug, this was a comforting and understanding hug, one that he desperately needs right now.

"I know how it feels to lose them." Snotlout says in a calm tone which causes Hiccup to tear up even more after hearing that as Snotlout silently sheds a tear as well, but quickly wipes it off.

After a couple of minutes, Hiccup has stop his crying.

"Thanks, Snotlout." Hiccup says with some tears in his eyes before rubbing them out of his eyes.

"No problem, don't mention this to anyone, I have a reputation to uphold." Snotlout says pridefully as he enters the school.

"I think no one would believe me anyways." Hiccup said with a sad smile.

After school...

Hiccup is seen walking with Snotlout as the rain kept pouring on the cousins. Snotlout decided that Hiccup would need him right now.

"I am such a jerk. I haven't learned anything. I thought I could just brute force my way to victory like you." Hiccup said thinking about his battle against Rick Brash and his Nullkavee and what would have happened if he brute forced it.

The Battle of Toothless vs. Nullkavee, Hiccup's Mind...

"DRACONIC FORCE!" Toothless roared as he fired a plasma ball at Aquos Nullkavee.

"I got you! Gate Card Open!" Rick shouted activating the Gate Card.

The Gate Card glowed a rainbow colored as it opened.

"What's that!?" Hiccup shouted.

The B-Power of Nullkavee and Toothless swapped as the plasma ball headed straight towards Nullkavee only for the Aquos Bakugan to grab the ball of plasma and toss it back at the Furynoid defeating him.

"TOOTHLESS!" Hiccup screamed as he saw Toothless be sent to the Doom Dimension.

Back in the real world, Berk...

"Toothless was right. If I hadn't let my stress and anger get the best of me. Serpenoid, Robotallion, Falconeer, Griffon, Terrorclaw, Juggernoid, and Webam would still be with me!" Hiccup shouted at himself for making those mistakes.

"I shouldn't have put Toothless on the line like that." Hiccup said.

Back on the bridge, Hiccup's mind...

"Ugh, You don't understand what is now at stake, Hiccup. They CAN'T come back, like I said before and what you repeated, the Doom Dimension is the hue-man equivalent of the afterlife. All Bakugan's are alive, but the ones that go to the Doom Dimension are truly gone. THEY CAN AND WILL NEVER RETURN!" Toothless explained to Hiccup.

Back in the real world, Berk...

"I was just brawling like it was some kind of dumb game, like I didn't even care about what happened to my Bakugan's. I only cared about myself." Hiccup said.

The Bridge, Hiccup's mind...

Hiccup throws Toothless into the river as the Darkus Furynoid sinks into the water.

Back in the real world, Berk...

"Ah!" Hiccup gasp remembering about Toothless being stuck at the bottom of the river.

"Toothless! TOOTHLESS!" Hiccup screamed racing towards the river as Snotlout quickly chased after him.

"HICCUP! Wait up! *Huff* *Huff, How are you so fast?!" Snotlout asked huffing from trying to keep up with Hiccup as he kept following him.

At The Bridge...

Hiccup quickly makes it back to the bridge to find Toothless and apologizes to him about everything and how he was right and he was utterly wrong.

Hiccup looks over the railing to try and find the Furynoid, but due to the grey clouds it's almost impossible to find him without a source of light.

Hiccup makes his way across the bridge to get to where the river is below.

With Toothless, In the River...

Toothless was in his ball form thinking about how it came to this.

"How did it come to this?" Toothless asks himself. "I chose to battle in this world in order to return Vestroia back to normal. But now..." He says to himself thinking about the good times he and Hiccup spent together and how they are a team.

The Bridge, Toothless's mind...

"W-We're a team, right? A-A family." Hiccup told Toothless.

"What about our deal?" Hiccup said to Toothless.

With Hiccup at the bottom of The Bridge...

Hiccup had made it to the bottom of the river's base looking for Toothless. He entered the river, not caring about his clothes or himself, only Toothless, his partner, his best friend.

He dipped his hands into the river to try and find Toothless as fast as he can.

Back with Toothless, The River...

"I was truly unfair to him." Toothless said to himself feeling guilty for what he's done to Hiccup.

With Hiccup...

Hiccup was making waves above the water frantically trying to find Toothless before the current catches him.

"TOOTHLESS?!" Hiccup screamed for Toothless.

With Toothless...

"I am sorry, Hiccup. For everything I've done to you." Toothless apologizes.

With Hiccup...

A car passes by Hiccup with their headlights on to see in the rainy water as the light hit the river's water as Hiccup sees something sparkle for a moment.

"Is that...?" Hiccup asked his hope rising as he smiles with tears reforming in his eyes.

Hiccup quickly makes his way to where the sparkle in the water as waves start to form as he got closer and closer to his best friend.

"Toothless, Is that you!" Hiccup calls out to his best friend.

Hiccup then accidentally steps on a loose rock and slips into the water creating a loud splash.

"Whoa!" Hiccup screams as he slips into the water.

With Toothless...

Toothless hears the loud splash as his hope rising that it must be Hiccup.

"HICCUP!" Toothless says with hope for his partn... no, his best friend.

With Hiccup...

Hiccup quickly gets back up and makes his way to Toothless.

"Toothless!" He yells racing to his best friend.

With Toothless...

The water's currents picks up carrying Toothless away from his best friend.

"WHOA!" Toothless screams as he is carried away by the current from Hiccup.

With Hiccup...

Hiccup sees that Toothless is being carried away by the current as he quickens his pace to reach him.

"HEY! WAIT! COME BACK!" Hiccup yells trying to get Toothless back.

"TOOTHLESS!" Hiccup screams as he leaps into the river to catch him before it's too late.

With Toothless...

Toothless, with all of his might, tries to stop himself and get back to Hiccup, but the current is just too strong for him, but that won't stop him from trying.

"WHOOOAAAHHHH!!!" Toothless screams as he is carried away.

Just then, Hiccup grabs Toothless in the nick of time just before it's too late as he pulls him out of the water.

Hiccup looks to see if he actually got Toothless, and when he looks he smiles so happily that tears of joy fall down his face.

"H-Hi..." Hiccup says as he cries tears of joy of seeing Toothless again.

Toothless opens up into his true ball form, so happy to see Hiccup.

"HICCUP!" Toothless yells so happy to see his best friend. "Is... Is that really you?"

"Yeah, buddy. It's me." Hiccup nods as he cries happily at the two of them being reunited at last as the rain stopped, as the clouds cleared moving once again to let the rays of sunlight hit the Planet.

After the Storm...

Hiccup and Toothless were laying on a hill next to the river drying off in the calm sunlight. Snotlout arrived moments later tired and exhausted, but happy to see that his cousin and Toothless are back together again, he leaves them be for now.

"Toothless..." Hiccup began as he looked at his best friend. "I-I don't know what to say to you. I was a real jerk. I considered you and the other Bakugan's my friend, but I wasn't looking out for you or them at all. I just... I can't tell you how sorry I am. I... I just wanted to tell you that." He apologizes.

Toothless looks to Hiccup. "Hiccup, I..." Toothless tried to say his apologies, but Hiccup continued.

"But I am really glad that you're okay." Hiccup looks away in shame. "So, I thought maybe we could..."

"Be a team, again." Toothless finished Hiccup's sentence, making Hiccup gasp and look at him. "You're not completely useless to me, far from it, so why should I not take advantage of you as much as I can." The Furynoid said.

Hiccup mentally snickered at Toothless's words, but understood what he meant. He gave the Furynoid a big smile and looked towards the Darkus Bakugan.

"Do you really mean it?" Hiccup asked, wanting Toothless word's to be 100% certain.

"Well it's either this or that nightmare of a river." Toothless jokes making Hiccup laugh. "We are after the same thing, Hiccup." He added on. "So let's brawl together!"

"ALRIGHT!" Hiccup cheered. "THAT'S AWESOME! THANK YOU SO MUCH! YEAHAHA!" He cheerfully laughed as he was jumping with joy, before he tumbled down the hill and landed right into the river.

"AHAHAHAHAHA!" Toothless laughed at Hiccup falling into the river. "Thank YOU! From now on, we shall be a PROPER team." The Furynoid said before jumping into the water with his new best friend.

With their friendship restored and stronger than ever before, there was just one thing left to do now.

With Shaun and the other kids...

Shaun and the group who blamed Hiccup were walking down the sidewalk, the group were asking Shaun and Voltenstein what happened during their brawl with Hiccup and tips on battling.

"SHAUN!" A familiar new-found confident voice called out.

Shaun and the group looked to see where the voice originated from.

"YOU LISTEN TO ME AND YOU LISTEN GOOD!" The voice shouted.

"Uh, hey Hiccup. What's up?" The kid with the green sleeveless shirt with a yellow star said, annoyed by Hiccup.

"The way you and Voltenstein are battling is dangerous. You shouldn't even listen to Masque." Hiccup said with determination. "He doesn't care what happens to you."

"Look Hiccup, I..." Shaun tried to say but is interrupted.

"What is it with you, Hiccup?!" The boy with the green sleeveless shirt with the yellow star told him. "You can't tell Shaun how to Brawl, especially since he kicked your butt."

"That's not what I mean, I was only trying to-" Hiccup tries to counter but is interrupted by Voltenstein.

"Shaun, you are the strongest, don't listen to him." Voltenstein told his partner.

"You're right. I AM the strongest." Shaun said listening to his partner's words like a mind-controlled zombie.

"Crush anyone who gets in your way." Voltenstein said.

"Yes, I will crush ANYONE who suggest that my strategies are anything less than perfect." Shaun said walking towards Hiccup. "And it sounds to me like that's exactly what you're trying to tell me, Useless." He said.

"It appears we cannot communicate to them like this, we HAVE to defeat him." Toothless whispers to Hiccup.

"Yeah, I need you're help Toothless. We have to bring Shaun back to his senses." Hiccup said with determination.

As the two Brawlers stare each other down, the air is silent as no one speaks.

"Heh, Playtime." Shaun said as he and Hiccup pull out their Transporter Cards.

"BAKUGAN FIELD OPEN!!" Hiccup and Shaun shouted as their Transporter Cards both glowed a purple color.

Time slowed down everywhere just as a car passes by and a water droplet falls from a leaf into a puddle in mid-air.

The world around them changes to the Bakugan battlefield as the two stand opposite of one another.

"GATE CARD SET!" The two shouted as they threw their Gate Cards with Shaun's landing in-front of Hiccup's and vice-versa.

Shaun then picked up an Baku-Core and tossed it onto the field.

"Doom Core Set!" Shaun said as the Doom Core was now in play.

He then loaded his Baku-Launcher with his first Bakugan and aimed it.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Shaun shouted throwing his first Bakugan onto the field.

Shaun's Bakugan landed on his original Gate Card as it opened up revealing his Darkus Apollyon.

"DARKUS APOLLYON STAND!" Shaun shouted as the Skeleton Warrior wielding the Lance and Shield rose to the battlefield.

"Let's do this!" Hiccup shouted as his grabbed another Gate Card. "GATE CARD SET!"

The Gate Card landed on the left side of Shaun's first Gate Card that his Apollyon was on.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Hiccup shouted as he tossed his Bakugan.

Hiccup threw his Bakugan onto the field as it landed on his own Gate Card.

"DARKUS GARGONOID STAND!" Hiccup shouted as his Bakugan opened up.

Flying up into the air, a giant Gargoyle-like Bakugan with black and purple skin, with 2 bat-like ears, large wings, and a long tail.

"GRAAAAAHHHHH!!!!" Gargonoid roared as it soared into the air.

There are two kinds of Gargonoids, Gargonoids with goat horns are the normal Gargonoids that live above ground and hunt during the day, and those with bat-like ears are a subspecies of Gargonoids that live underground and hunt only at night, but both are given the name Gargonoids due to both turning to the same stone form when they sleep.

"Use caution, Hiccup." Toothless warns him.

"I hear you, bud. He's obviously had set up some kind of a trap for us. But I got a trick up my sleeve as well." Hiccup told his best friend.

"Waiting to see what happens?" Shaun asked with his head down as he glared at Hiccup. "Good. Oh, and while you're at it."

"GATE CARD SET!" Shaun shouted throwing the Gate Card next to Hiccup's 1st and 2nd Gate Card.

He then put his second Bakugan into his Baku-Launcher.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Shaun shouted as he tossed his Bakugan onto the Battlefield.

"DARKUS REAPER STAND!" Shaun shouted revealing he had another duplicate of the Grim Reaper-like Bakugan.

Just then, Baku-Cores covered Shaun's side as he picked one up and tossed it at his Reaper. The Baku-Core spun around Shaun's Reaper before it sliced the Baku-Core in two and absorbed the Dark Energy into it's body.

"Ability Activate: MARIONETTE!" Shaun announced the Ability.

Darkus Reaper then lifted it's gigantic grim reaper-like scythe up off the ground, before slamming the end of the scythe down hard upon the ground, embedding it. Then Shaun's Darkus Reaper lifts it's hands up towards Hiccup's Gargonoid as large purple strings flew out of Shaun's Reapers' skeleton-like fingers and attached themselves to Hiccup's Gargonoids' limbs.

"Okay, Darkus Reaper, hand it over to Darkus Apollyon." Shaun ordered his Darkus Reaper.

Shaun's Reaper then manipulated the strings the same way a man does with a puppet or marionette and made Hiccup's Gargonoid fly over to Darkus Apollyon and 1st his Gate Card

Baku-Cores then covered the entire field.

"Now, GATE CARD OPEN!" Shaun said activating the Gate Card.

"WHAT!?" Hiccup shouted, he was not expecting him to do that.

The Gate Card glowed purple before a dark fog appeared up beneath Gargonoid and Apollyon.

"Darkus Apollyon's B-Power has increased from 2-1-0 B's to 4-0-0 B's." Hiccup's Baku-Pod informs him.

But then, instead of worry, Hiccup actually smiled, like he planned for this to happen before the battle even began.

"Oh, no you don't." Hiccup said, he isn't going down like last time, he noticed a Baku-Core near him and picks it up and tosses it. "Ability Activate: STORM WALL!"

The Baku-Core spun around Hiccup's Gargonoid and soon entered it's chest as a storm cloud surrounded his Gargonoid as some bolts of lightning struck Shaun's Apollyon.

"Darkus Apollyon Power Level decreased by 5-0 B's." Shaun's Baku-Pod informs him as he still held a 30 B advantage.

"Oh, Good one. But not good enough!" Shaun said as Apollyon's lance pierced thru the storm and struck Hiccup's Gargonoid, defeating the gargoyle.

The Doom Dimension portal opened up and took the defeated Gargonoid to the Doom Dimension.

Shaun grabbed both his Bakugan and the Gate Card.

The score is now; Shaun: 1, Hiccup: 0.

"HICCUP! SPEAK TO ME!" Toothless asked worried for his friend.

"Don't worry, I'm feeling better, just trust me Toothless." Hiccup said with determination to succeed in this battle.

"I trust you." Toothless said with determined loyalty as he entered his ball form.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Hiccup shouted as he threw Toothless into the battlefield.

Toothless landed on his original Gate Card and opened up revealing his true form to Shaun and Voltenstein.

"TOOTHLESS STAND!!" Hiccup screamed as his main partner revealed his true form.

"ROOOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRR!!!!" Toothless let out an ear-piercing screech as he entered the field.

"Finally, we get to meet your little pet Dragon. I like to introduce you to Apollyon!" Shaun said loading his Bakugan into the Baku-Launcher.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Shaun shouted as his Apollyon stood.

"DARKUS APOLLYON STAND!" Shaun shouted as his Bakugan revealed it's true form.

Baku-Core covered the field as Shaun instantly picked one up and tossed it at his Bakugan.

"Ability Activate: RANK ZERO!" Shaun shouted.

"Apollyon's Power Level 4-0-0 B's." Hiccup's Baku-Pod announced.

"Hah!!" Toothless growled at his opponent, worried that he will be sent to the Doom Dimension.

"Don't worry, Toothless. GATE CARD OPEN: INTERCEPT!" Hiccup shouted as his Gate Card opened.

"Hang on, what is he doing?!" Shaun asked confused and shocked as was Voltenstein, but he was more interested in Toothless.

Suddenly, bars of light appeared from underneath, standing in-between Shaun's Apollyon and Toothless stopping the two before the battle began.

"There we are, that should keep you two from fighting." Hiccup jokes with a confident smile.

"Hiccup, what is you're strategy?!" Toothless asked curious about his best friend's strategy and caution of what might happens next.

"Just watch!" Hiccup said with confidence as he grabs his last Bakugan.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Hiccup shouted as he tossed his last Bakugan onto his 2nd Gate Card.

"DARKUS MANTRIS STAND!" Hiccup shouted.

Just then, Baku-Cores covered Hiccup's half of the field as he picks up a purple one.

"Now it's you're turn to be the puppet, Shaun!" Hiccup shouted as he tossed his Baku-Core at his Mantris.

The Baku-Core spun around Hiccup's Mantris before it bit down on it and absorbed it's energy.

"Ability Activate: MARIONETTE!" Hiccup shouted activating his Bakugan's ability.

Just then, large purple strings launched out of Hiccup's Mantris and at Shaun's Apollyon, attaching to it's limbs and joints.

"Apollyon, move to the same Gate Card as your teammate, Reaper!" Hiccup commanded Shaun's Bakugan.

Against it's own will, Shaun's Darkus Apollyon started to move towards Shaun's Reaper as Hiccup's Mantris manipulated the strings connected to the skeleton lancer.

"HUH?! W-WAIT! THAT CARD IS A MINE GHOST!!" Shaun screamed with shock as he wasn't expecting Hiccup to do this at all in his calculations when the Brawl started.

"STOOOOP!!!!" Shaun tried to make Hiccup stop his own plan.

But it was too late, once Apollyon was on the Gate Card, The Card automatically opened up underneath them and blew up, destroying Shaun's Apollyon and Reaper at the same time creating a large smoke.

The Baku-Cores disappeared as soon as they arrived on Hiccup's side.

"What happened?!" Toothless asked amazed and shocked by Hiccup's plan, he glowed purple and returned to Hiccup along with the two Gate Cards, due to defeating the two Bakugan that stood on them.

The score is now; Shaun: 1, Hiccup: 2.

Hiccup caught Toothless and the 2 Gate Card, as he told the Furynoid what he did.

"I anticipated what Shaun was going to do." Hiccup whispered to Toothless with confidence and determination as he thinks back to his first battle against Shaun.

Shaun vs. Hiccup's first battle...

The portal started to lift up both Hiccup's Juggernoid and Shaun's Reaper as the two were still battling each other, taking them both to the Doom Dimension.

"Instead of a Doom Companion Card he used last time, he snuck a Mine Ghost Card in ahead of time, which takes out either an enemy or an ally." Hiccup explained to Toothless.

"I see. So he was going to sacrifice Darkus Reaper, who he was finished with, in order to take one of us with him. And you used the Card's ability against him!" Toothless said understanding what Hiccup meant. "Good Thinking, Hiccup." He praised his best friends' great planning.

Back with Hiccup, Toothless, and Shaun...

"Well, Bakugan is more a strategy game, you have to learn and read you're opponent's mind and anticipate their next move." Hiccup told Toothless remembering what Shaun said before he met Masque.

'I don't believe it, he actually managed to double-cross me.' Shaun said angered.

Shaun loaded his next Bakugan into the Baku-Launcher and aimed it at where Hiccup's Mantris stood.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Shaun shouted throwing his Bakugan onto the field.

"DARKUS VOLTENSTEIN STAND!" Shaun shouted as his main partner Bakugan revealed his true form once again.

"MRRAAAAAAHHHH!!!" Voltenstein roared as he entered the battle against Hiccup's Mantris.

Baku-Cores covered both sides of the field.

"Now go, Voltenstein, use you're strength and destroy his Mantris!" Shaun ordered his partner.

Voltenstein reeled his fist back as he then charges it with purple electricity before launching it at Hiccup's Darkus Mantris, as a portal opened up and took Hiccup's Mantris to the Doom Dimension.

The Baku-Cores disappeared.

"Well now, that leaves us with One Bakugan each, Hiccup." Shaun said sneering at Hiccup's name. "Let's finish this battle.

Voltenstein glowed purple as the Gate Card shrunk in size and went to Shaun.

The Score is now; Shaun: 2, Hiccup: 2.

"What now?" Toothless asked what their next plan is to beat Shaun.

"Let's see, his next move will probably be..." Hiccup said thinking before remembering what Shaun's next move is in his last battle. "Yes! A Shocking Revival of his Darkus Apollyon and Dimension Four Combo."

"GATE CARD SET!" Hiccup shouted tossing his Gate Card onto the field as it grew in size.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Hiccup shouted tossing Toothless onto the field.

"TOOTHLESS STAND!" Hiccup shouted as Toothless revealed his true form.

Shaun loaded in Voltenstein in the Baku-Launcher.

"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Shaun shouted as he launched Voltenstein onto the Gate Card.

"DARKUS VOLTENSTEIN STAND!" Shaun shouted as his last Bakugan revealed his true form again.

"ROOOOOAAAAAARRRRRR!!!!" Toothless let out an ear-piercing screech.

"MURRRAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!" Voltenstein roared as it entered the battle.

Baku-Cores appeared on the field some glowing a powerful purple color, some a weaker purple color.

"This time we're taking you down!" Voltenstein growled with anger.

"Oh, you think so?" Hiccup asked confidently. "Gate Card Open!"

Suddenly, the Gate Card glowed purple as lightning clouds surrounded the two Bakugan's as two massive bolts of lightning struck Toothless, powering him up greatly.

"Hah! Battling with power! Is that all you know?" Shaun confidently asked. "Oh, well I figured as much." He said picking up one core.

"Ability Activate: SHOCKING REVIVAL!" Shaun shouted as he tossed the Baku-Core at Voltenstein.

The Baku-Core entered Voltenstein's chest as he absorbed the energy.

"So long, Toothless. You know, you were an interesting creature. You're not like the rest of us Bakugans, are you?" Voltenstein said before continuing with his ability.

Just then, a black and purple lance pierced into the air from the ground below, like a zombie crawling out of it's own grave. Then a shield with a skull appeared of the same coloration.

"Darkus Apollyon has been added to the battle, Darkus Voltenstein and Darkus Apollyon stand together with 5-5-0 B's." Hiccup's Baku-Pod informs him.

"Game Over! DIMENSION FOUR!" Shaun shouted picking up another Baku-Core and tossing it onto the field.

But unlike last time with Darkus Webam, where it's web armor and storm clouds went away, the lightning stayed strongly attached to Toothless and wouldn't go away no matter how strong Dimension Four tried, only causing it to move a few inches, but that did nothing to stop it.

"WHAT?!"/"WHAT?!" Shaun and Voltenstein shouted in shock, why wasn't Dimension Four working?

"That's where you're wrong about me, Shaun!" Hiccup said. "Figure this! Even if you counted a Gate Card, Dimension Four can't stop my CHARACTER CARD!" He revealed.

"CHARACTER CARD?!"/"CHARACTER CARD?!" Shaun and Voltenstein asked in shock.

Shaun and Voltenstein then looked at the Gate Card To see if what he said was true and were shocked, the opened Gate Card revealed Toothless flying through a lightning storm as lighting hit his back as he charged an electrified Plasmic Beam.

"Dimension Four can counteract the attribute power, but can't counteract this Character Card. Which raises the Bakugan of that Character Card's Power Level!" Shaun said with shock, there are no Character Card's for Toothless released.

"How do you have a Character Card of your Pet Dragon?!" Shaun asked with enraged confusion.

"Oh, it's just something me, Fishlegs, and one extra person helped create for this battle, you can say it's a Special Edition Gate Card." Hiccup said with a confident smirk thanking Fishlegs and Gobber for making this after he and Toothless reunited.

Just then, a powerful dark lightning cloud surrounded Toothless entirely as his emerald green eyes flowed through the storms clouds.

"ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRR!!!!!!" Toothless let out another ear-piercing screech.

"Voltenstein, look out!" Shaun warned them.

"B-Power increased detected. Darkus Furynoid's B-Power has increased to 1-0-0-0 B's." Hiccup's and Shaun's Baku-Pods inform them.

"This can't be!" Voltenstein said with shock.

"I CAN NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!" Toothless roared as he glared at Voltenstein.

"ABILITY ACTIVATE: PLASMIC BEAM!" Hiccup shouted picking up another Baku-Core and tossing it at Toothless.

Toothless absorbed the Baku-Core as he charged up a beam of plasma and fired it at both Voltenstein and Apollyon, defeating them both at the same time.

"NOOOOAAAAHHHH!!!" Voltenstein yelled out as he and Apollyon were defeated, creating a massive explosion.

Toothless glowed purple before returning to ball form and flying back to Hiccup, along with the last Gate Card.

The score was now; Shaun: 2, Hiccup: 3. Hiccup wins.

Time started back up again as the water droplet fell onto the puddle and the car continued driving by the Hiccup, Shaun, and the kids.

Hiccup and Shaun stood still as the kids from Berk High waited to see what the results were.

That is, until Shaun fell to his knees in defeat and started to weep.

"I win." Hiccup said with Toothless on his shoulder.

"Hiccup beat Shaun..." The students say with shock.

"I lost... and what makes it worse is... is that I lost because my strategies were outwitted." Shaun said with defeat as Voltenstein tries his best to comfort his partner.

"Uh, Hey... don't take it too hard." Hiccup said with a calm voice.

"Huh?" Shaun asked confused.

"I had a hard time figuring you out, you know, You and Voltenstein. So if it's okay, I'd like to battle you again some time." Hiccup said as Voltenstein and Shaun looked at him in shock.

"R-Really?" Shaun asked with hopeful shock.

"Do you truly mean that?" Voltenstein asked.

"It's an honor to go up against a Battler as clever as you and your partner." Hiccup complimented. "Only, next time, let's have a fun battle without all the Doom Cores, okay?" Hiccup said.

"I wish to battle against you as well. While I can never forgive you for what you two have done, you can regain that with earning my trust." Toothless said to Shaun and Voltenstein.

"Yeah, sure! It be a total pleasure! Just for fun!" Shaun agreed.

"It's a deal!" Voltenstein agreed as well.

"Great! Hahaha!" Hiccup chuckled light-heartedly.

"Hehehehe..." Shaun chuckled as well smiling that he and Hiccup have made up.

As the two laughed, and Shaun's group watched wondering what happened. They didn't noticed that someone was watching them atop the rooftop.

...

And that someone was Masque.

"We'll see about that. Hehehe..." Masque chuckled before leaving with Darkus Skrill.

Haddock Household, That Night...

It was now nighttime as Hiccup was on the computer with the other Dragon Brawlers and Gobber.

"I'm telling you, Toothless is the best!" Hiccup said to his friends and teacher.

"Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. We get it already." The Dragon Brawlers and Gobber said at the same time annoyed, but happy that Hiccup and Toothless are back together.

"Okay, 1. That's creepy. 2. I'm serious! I'm at rank 160th, thanks to him!" Hiccup said happy that he is getting closer and closer to reaching Rank: 1 and closer to defeating Masque.

"He's the best friend a guy like me can have, No offense Fishlegs, Gobber." Hiccup said before apologizing.

"None Taken." Fishlegs and Gobber accepted the apology.

Hiccup then thought of a way to tease Toothless and started kissing him.

"Ah, stop it!" Toothless cried out as he went into true ball form as he and the Dragon Brawlers laughed.

"I mean, you should have seen him." Hiccup said getting back on track. "It was awesome!"

"Look, Hiccup, we are all very happy you and Toothless are a team again, but..." Gobber said.

"When are you going to stop telling is about it?!" The Dragon Brawlers, minus Hiccup, cried out.

"He's my best buddy!" Hiccup said showering Toothless with caring affection, which was embarrassing for the Furynoid.

"Hiccup, Please stop this! This is humiliating! I DO have a reputation to uphold! And all you're who-man friends are observing this!" Toothless cried out in embarrassment as the Brawlers and Gobber laugh. "I-I'm developing your rash!"

"HIIIICCCCCCUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
